Test Track is awesome! I go to EPCOT a lot as I do have cast passes. I love the imagination and designing a car with my sister. All the different tests are entertaining and amusing in their own ways. At night, it looks so cool! You have so much control! A bad thing is the line is very long, usually 100-150 minutes for the normal and 30-60 for the single rider line, and fast passes are rare. It is easy for people to skip you in a few places, so hold your spot! They have too big of a fast pass limit, probably due to angry people wanting passes, so either way, lines are long. In conclusion, Test Track is most likely the best ride at EPCOT. read more

Now you ARE the designer and get to customize your own car for the test track ahead. Touch screen computers are your tool and there are endless options to compete against your friends and other Guests. Choose FASTPASS for a shorter wait, but be warned that you only get to pick a pre-made car. The hair-raising turns and twist are still there, but with a great new overlay using state-of-the-art technology to really make for some awesome looking scenes. This is a ride that you cannot miss on your visit and will certainly be fun for everyone in your family! read more

It's now a crazy, fantasy sim of a car design ride. I'm glad it's GM instead of some lame company (you can focus on who that is), because the car display at the end is cool. Being a huge fan of Test Track before it's big refurb, I was deeply disappointed when the new Tron-like version opened up for rider amusement. Luckily, Early Magic Hours provided me with an almost first-in-line experience, so I got to enjoy the full experience, from designing my own car of the future to testing it's performance on the ride. However, when I wanted to try it again, the lineup was too long so I opted for the single rider experience. This was a real disappointment because I no longer could become involved in designing my own car - that option had been stolen away from me. Seems Disney has decided to place profit ahead of guest statisfaction. As a single or Fastpass rider, guests no longer have the chance to design their own car and have it rated. Only standby riders have that joy and with the lineups running into the hours of wait time, there is no way this Disney fan is going to wait. Consequently, Disney has just lost another Test Track rider. Disney's need to push through as many riders as they can per hour at the expense of their enjoyment has ultimately lost riders. Once again, the almighty dollar has influenced what Disney provides its guests. read more

The ride itself is cool....but the real awesome is designing your own car and competing against your friends/family. You only get to do this in the regular line. They don't tell you that single riders are ushered past this set up room...and just get to ride.....and the estimated 40 minute wait still took 70 minutes. Really not cool there, Epcot. Still, I can see it totally being worth it to Fast Pass (if FP folk get to design), or wait in the regular line. read more

This has to my favorite ride at Epcot. The test track is sponsored by GM and features a design phase and a tasting phase. Riders first design the car from the ground up. Engine tuning, suspension frictions, and other key parameters are dialed up and then tested against other designs. It's super fun! read more

Loved this ride! Amazing technologically. You customize a car and go on a virtual indoor thrill ride that has short sprints and virtual hazards. The second half of the ride is a speeding finale on an elevated outdoor track . Great for middle-of-the-road adventure seekers. For the very adventurous-types this should be fun but comparatively tame to the wilder rides like Space Mountain. Fastpass is highly recommended at Disney to avoid long waits. read more

A sort of watered down roller coaster ride for car enthusiasts and auto techies. Like most theme park rides, the wait to get on is way longer than the rise itself. The scheduled wait time for ua as a group would have been 70 minutes so we all opted to ride as singles which was far less but again, ride was way shorter than the wait inline to get on. If I had a choice I would avoid going on as it is great for the above forementioned individuals and kids. If you have time to kill and don't mind standing in line, this is for you. read more

Test Track as a whole was a good idea and a very fun ride. I went to the soft open of the newly renovated version. The new version lets you use a key card to log in and design your very own car based on efficiency, power, aerodynamics ect... granted because its just reopening i assumed there would be a few bugs. at the door they hand you a key card to scan. get to the terminal, go to scan the card on the reader.... didn't work. tried another terminal, didn't work. 4 terminals later i pulled out y wallet and scanned my Caribbean beach room key (also based on a magnetic scan) IT WORKED! not supposed to! so i designed my car and waited to move to the next room. and waited, and waited and waited.. people tried to turn around and leave. YOU CANT doors lock behind you and no handles! only way out is up a single line ramp bottleneck's up a hill. can you say FIRE HAZARD! people were literally panicking. To make an even longer story short, the ride locks up a few times and 2 hours later and as i watch literally hundreds of fast pass users loading on in front of me as we don't move an inch. SO. was it worth it? Though the new interior design for the cattle herding area is cleaner there really isn't that much to look at. And as for the ride. ITS THE EXACT SAME TRACK. Granted there is a new "Tron" like theme if they would have committed to that idea it may have been better. but i left feeling let down because the track was not new. more of the same. see attached picture to see the truck I designed. after the ride there seems to be much more to do but most of it didn't work. :( But Disney doesn't usually disappoint so of course ill give it another shot when all the bugs are worked out. read more

The best ride in Epcot but that's kind of unfair to say since there's not that many rides to begin with. Think of this Radiator Springs Racer in Carsland mixed with Tron. That's how the best I can describe it. This line takes forever because you get to "design" your own car. Cool and fun concept, just not productive or efficient. The car goes pretty fast, and it goes through "simulations" to test out your cars ability. When you go into the simulations they look all digital and Tron like with all the neon lights which is neat. Then you go around the track top speed around a display of regular Chevy cars. Talk about advertisement. Great ride but wait is too long. read more

There's been some cool changes since I was last there in 2009 (went October 2014), but it's still fun! Now you get to design your vehicle and for every test it goes through, you get the results ~ like speed, efficiency, etc... The Cars ride in Disney's California Adventure was probably closely modeled after Test Track, since both rides seem to be alike...so I guess if you can't make it to one, the only thing you're missing is the theme. Test Track is about as exciting of a ride as you can find, especially in EPCOT. This is another that had a Fast Pass option, but we didn't need to utilize it since there was no line when we arrived. I attribute our luck with the lines at EPCOT to getting dinner in the 5-6pm hour, since most make their reservations around 7:00 and then the ones that can't get &pm reservations will usually settle around 8:00, leaving the majority of the attractions without lines during the dinner rush. Anyway... This is as close as you can get to being an actually Crash Test Dummy. You strap in to a "test car" and are run through a course of various obstacles. The car's suspension is tested over different road surfaces, including bricks and cobblestones. Next, the car's anti-lock braking system is turned off and the car tries to navigate a course of cones, knocking many over in the process. The anti-lock brakes are then turned back on and a similar cone course is navigated a bit easier. Then comes the simulated inclement weather conditions. The cars are brought through environmental chambers: a hot chamber of 110°F, a cold chamber of 10°F, and a corrosion chamber. Then comes the speed and handling tests... The car climbs a set of hills with blind turns while increasing its speed each time. At the top the car almost crashes into an oncoming semi-truck before swerving out of the way. The car is now on the final test shown in the briefing room, "The Barrier Test." The car lines up across from a barrier and begins to accelerate towards it. Just before hitting the barrier a series of flashes occur, where the always popular "screaming picture" is taken (it can be viewed and purchased, like most, in the gift shop entrance)... the barrier opens to a outside track. The car takes a final lap around the building, reaching a max speed of 65MPH! If you're a thrill seeker, this is an absolute MUST ride! read more

The update to test track was really solid! The whole concept change to designing your own car and the trade offs for each strength is really cool. It really brought the ride into the current century. Still a bit too much of a Chevy commercial. Specifically the OnStar portion, but overall very nice job on the update. read more

This ride is absolutely exhilarating! This ride may not be suitable for younger children, as it is quite fast, with car speeds hitting 65 MPH without a roof or windows! First you design a car based on different aspects (handling, fuel economy, power, etc.). Then, you board the ride and it tells you how your car performed compared to the others designed by people riding in your same vehicle. It is pretty fun. If you are competitive, you can place bets for souvenirs or something. :) My kiddo designed a car her first time that won everything except for fuel economy. Hey... she won't be a Prius driver anytime soon! Be sure to come early to get your Fast Pass or add Test Track to your Fast Pass+ on your Magic Band well before your visit. This Fast Pass sells out extremely quickly. The wait is long even with Fast Pass, so be prepared! So fun! It is worth the wait. read more

Test Track is a fun one for everyone. Designing the car is fun and now that we've been through it a few times, we're not always going for the 'win' with our design. The ride doesn't change based on your design (which would be really cool if it did) but you get to see where you rank against other designs that may be in your car. This ride does have a single-rider option, but you don't get to participate in the design stage when you go this route. Getting a Fast Pass if you can, is the way to go. With only a few rides in EPCOT that's Fast Pass-worthy it can be hard to snag one, but definitely worth it if you can. They made the ride a little flashier with the updates they did over the last couple years. And yes, you don't really go THAT fast, but the banked curve definitely makes you feel like you are. read more

The re imagined test track is so much fun. It is cool to design your own car and then test it out against others in your party. Fun competition. Make sure to ask the cast member that you want to design your own. Otherwise they group you in teams of 3 or 4 per design. read more

So I enjoyed this ride. The lines are usually long like 'Frozen Ever After' and the there are some things for you to look at on the way to the ride. This is a Chevrolet sponsored ride, so the cars and designs are Chevy based. As you approach the ride, you come to a design room where you can design your own vehicle. Using your Magic band or park ticket, you tag in, design, and then upload your design a when you come to the ride. The ride is good, it's a good idea to get a fast pass for this. What is cool, is even though the main line is long, there is a line for single riders. If you are willing to part ways, and don't have a fast pass, this is a quick option. The ride is fast, has some G force to it. Acceleration is fun. Also one of the rides that takes a picture. Upon exiting, there is a interactive exhibit that are suited for kids. There is an area to see your picture, and an area to see how your car performed. There is also an area where you can see brand new Chevy's and a representative is on hand to speak with about the vehicles. Smart move on Chevrolet's part. read more

Even better after the remodeling! You now get to design your own car while you wait. It's really fun. Then your car is scored against that day's designs. My son loved it. The ride is also redone from a couple of years ago. I found it to be more enjoyable now. One of the best rides in all of Disney. read more

I really love the update to the ride. It's been many years since I've been on test track and it was previous to the time when you could custom make your car. We had a fast pass for this ride which i highly suggest booking on the disney app a day or two before you go to epcot as the fast passes run out quickly. If no fast pass available then go single rider. The previous version of this ride was a bit boring but now it's a lot more fun and thrilling. Just don't load up on margaritas from Mexico before hand you might get sick! read more

I like Test Track. The line can be l-o-n-g and seems to do a lot of stop and going. If you can catch it when the line is shorter it is totally worth it. It's a little cheesy but there is one part where you go outside and get up to 65mph. My little boy is a car fanatic but when he rode the ride there is one part where a truck comes at you but you veer away at the last second. Apparently this startled him (he's only 3) enough so that he didn't want to ride again. And this is a kid who doesn't think twice about Splash or Thunder Mountain! He loved the rest though and eventually we convinced him to ride again. read more

The best thrill ride at Epcot, not for designing the car itself, but for the fun and belly laughs of the test track itself. If you don't like fast-moving rides or being spun in circles, this probably isn't for you. Looking back, because the car designing part wasn't so important to the actual ride (they make it seem like you are influencing stuff, but you're really not), I would go for the single rider line and skip the customized design. Boys and girls 13 years old and under will enjoy this immensely, but anyone who is older and used to more sophisticated video gaming will probably be disappointed by how little the car you design actually impacts the ride. Make SURE to grab a fast pass for this early in the day. The line for this ride becomes abominable by mid-day, and I wouldn't wait for it anymore than an hour. After you ride it, grab another fast pass for later if possible. read more

We fastpassed this and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not for those who have neck issues, there's a lot of sharp banking turns and abrupt stops/go's. The end section outside is definitely the highlight. read more

We got here around 9:30 and it took a solid 30-40 minutes before we were on the ride. The line wasn't long, but they make you go through so much garbage, like "building your own car" that you waste a lot of time. After going through that stuff, the ride is pretty bad. You go through "terrain testing" and "responsiveness testing" that isn't really much of a ride. Then at the very end it gets fun. In summary, all of that waiting and standing and designing, and you get about 30 seconds of fun when the car does the power test and gets up into high speeds. It's the best ride at Epcot, but it's still not great. :-/ read more

Meh. I mean, still a quality thrill ride, but I'm not a fan of the Chevrolet "refresh". I am pretty certain I'm not just being biased towards the old test track format. The storyline for this is awkward... Instead on cinder block, corrosion tests, etc. they have power/responsiveness/efficiency tests. They recycled most parts of the ride, painting over the old props with a Tron-esque black with neon edges. So... It's really obvious when they're trying really hard to fit those pieces in. To be fair, the auto industry probably has a lot more high tech simulation stuff to assist with the testing process. 4 stars because I'm a guy... I love cars!!! Chevy Test Track was our 3rd ride the day we did EPCOT. There was a huge line, but my mom is a GM employee and thus was rewarded with instant Fast Pass (SAWEEEEEEET!!!). There was a downside, when you do the Fast Pass on Test Track, you do not get to design your own car. This was sort of disappointing because designing your own car was one of the additions with the remake. Then after you ride the ride, you get the specs of the car you designed. We ended up riding in some pre-designed car. The pre-designed car looked pretty silly. I would have had a lot more fun on the ride with the ability to design, but we saved ourselves an hour wait, so you get a little if you give a little (I guess!). Test Track sounds very fast and scary from the outside with the cars zipping by. It does get going pretty fast at one point, but it definitely is not scary. Before you get on the ride, you hear cars zipping by, and you think it is going to be more exciting. Nevertheless, it is still fun. Chevy did sort of try and turn the ride exit into a dealership. But I guess they are justified in doing this as much as Disney is, considering Disney also pushes its products at the ride exits. Relatively speaking, this ride is pretty fun. It is also a good mix of education and fun. That is especially true if you skip the fast pass and design your own car and then have the simulator run tests to see how aerodynamic your car is, etc. This is definitely a fun ride that car guys will enjoy. read more

The test track ride was very fun and exciting foe the first "car tests", but then in the middle of the ride when the car was "scanning", there was a technical difficulty, they turned on the lights, and then we sat there for 15 minutes, it was dumb. The rest of the ride was actually fun, but this part was outrageous. read more

I'm so sad to hear that Test Track is under construction! You wouldn't think that they could make the mundane testing of vehicle features into an enjoyable Disney ride, but they found a way. Even though you never leave the track, it gives you a little jump when they test the anti lock brakes, and zoom up to top speed. The line is really long, but they have interesting stuff going on around - automated robots testing car features. Objectively looking at it, it was a giant GM commercial, and it looks like soon it will be a giant Chevy commercial. Still, that doesn't make it any less fun. read more

I use to love Test Track. I mean really love it. It was one of my favorites. But it has really fallen down the list. Here are a few reasons why. First, the cast members at the ride are complete IDIOTS! They don't know the rules or don't understand something about what they should be doing. We had fast passes for the ride. Little guy is too small to ride. So Wifey and grumpy (my 11 year old daughter) got to go on right at the fast pass time. Fast pass was about a half hour line already. So, I asked the cast member at the entrance for a switch pass. He gave me one and then waved us all in. So, I figured, ok... weird but maybe there is a wait area now inside for us. No. Instead, I waited with little guy and the rest of the family the whole way up until the end of the fast pass line. At which point, the @#$%^ watching over the line started yelling at us for having a kid that size in line and escorted me out an exit. I profusely apologized to which I kinda got some mumbled crap. So, whatever. Everyone has bad days, right? Kinda like me each time I have to deal with a cast member on this trip. So, I took the exit. Me, little guy, and princess (my 7 year old girl) waited for the other two to get through. We waited and waited and waited. Then, I decided screw it. I went and got an Esspresso and then I got a beer. After this experience, I needed one. Then I waited and waited some more. By the time they were done, our fast passes were expired and so I took princess and we used the switch pass. We got in there and waited an hour in the fast pass line to ride..... at the end of September..... at around 11 AM. So once we got through the line and into this design phase of the ride, I came to realize that this is a case of Disney trying to outsmart itself. The line experience takes too long because they try to be cute with letting you "design" a car. It has no effect on your ride because it is still the same old ride it has always been. Not only that, but they didn't have all the lines open to deal with volume on this day. So it was very slow going. Bottom line, between the cast member experience and the poor line volume handling, this ride isn't really worth it anymore. It use to be really fun when it was just a ride with some cool scenery in the line. Now it is a weighted down experience in the line with a decent ride at the end of it. I miss just the ride. This is a case of Disney making an improvement that went the wrong direction. They should focus more on the ride itself and leave all this design crap for an after ride experience. So the test track is a place that lets you design your own car and see how well it will rate going through certain tests. Inside the building some of the stopping and turning ability is tested then lookout you go outside for some high speed testing don't wear your hat. When you get back you will see how your design did compared to others. The downside for this ride is that it seems to break down a lot. read more
