Illegal Tipping Policy? "Server Charge" 20% Tip ON TAKE OUT?! I asked "what server?" and they pointed at something printed on the wall. No one told me over the phone when I ordered that there was a 20% tip added, and on the website, it's barely visible. Best of all, they don't tell you when you pay, so it would be easy to just add more of a tip if you aren't careful. Makes you wonder why they made it barely visible like that. Teton Thai in the village is a great local stop serving up delicious food that will warm you up after a long day on the mountain. I came in with my family for lunch. The mountain was pretty slow since there was not much snow and the restaurant was slow so service was good. The waitress was attentive and the food tasted great. The Satay Gai (chicken skewers) were really yummy and fresh. The Crying Tiger was also equally as delicious the sweet and tangy jim jow sauce really tied it all together. I ordered the Chicken Gang Karee I thought it was really yummy. It was filling and hot. Very refreshing and energizing and sustaining on a winter day. Thai food in Teton Village? Got a word-of-mouth recommendation that I am amplifying here. Best Thai food we've ever had. Food was gobbled up before we snapped pics of all we ate. Two orders of fried dumplings turned to three. Chicken satay with cucumber salad and peanut sauce was delicious. I had the pineapple fried rice with chicken; we also had Pa Nang; a yellow curry and roasted duck curry. The inside is small and buzzing. Tables covered by large umbrellas are set up outside. Do not eat here. This place is over priced with horrible service. This has been our favorite Thai restaurant since we started working seasonally over a dozen years ago. We've probably eaten here over 100 times, but never again! They don't care about the quality of food anymore, they served my food 15 minutes before my wifes(and then served 3 other tables) and then charged 20% auto gratuity. We have dined here many times in years past. We have always had excellent food and service. Yesterday, however, it was different. It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio, but the vibe felt different. The music was very loud and some type of foreign style, and it was definitely not Asian as one might expect it would be. We requested it to be lowered, which they did, a little. The waiter must have been having a bad day. He acted like he hated his life and hated being there! I've been a server and in the service industry, you fake it. The appetizer I chose was fried wontons. They were only several degrees away from being burned with only a spot of filling in them. In short, don't get them! Let's talk about iced tea. I realize it is a way to make money in the restaurant industry, but at $5 per glass and no complimentary refills, that is obscene! We had two glasses each, for a total of $20 just for iced tea! The entrees were good but not worth the drive from where we live, south of Jackson. Had the 20% gratuity not be automatically added to our bill, he would have gotten 12 or 15% at best. Last year, was a much more pleasant and positive experience. Sorry to say, we won't be back! The food was so good I really wanted to give them 5 stars but we must've caught them on an off night. We came at about 7:40 on a Tuesday and they were pretty busy. While waiting to be greeted by the host, I couldn't help but notice how rude all the patrons were while the staff was doing their best. We were seated fairly quickly but weren't given menus or water. Menus eventually arrived but water never came despite them saying they'd be right back with it several times. It was so long, in fact, that my husband finally had to go get it himself. Our server finally came around and was sweet and helpful. We ordered the bbq pork with sticky rice and the Penang curry with salmon. We waited quite a long time for the food and I saw several tables enjoying their meals that were sat after us. It happens, I suppose. Both dishes were hearty servings with lots of meat. "Medium" heat was perfect for us. The bbq pork was exceptionally delicious! The restaurant is tiny with about 6 tables and a bar inside and a long patio with outside seating. The food and its presentation were first rate. No question. We were a large group for a small venue - 8 people. It's not ideal for this small space, and it's clearly not the size of a table that fits this restaurant's "template" for service. We felt rushed, and our server was somewhat curt, overwhelmed, and put out with our questions and the pace of our dining. Giving this 3 stars over 2 because our server was super sweet and was clearly juggling a lot near closing time. I enjoyed the food but just don't go in expecting it to be the most authentic. It was really impressive that Bison Pho was on the menu, the only thing is it's not made with the ingredients that authentic pho is made with. They use regular basil & cilantro when it should be Thai basil. However, this spin on the original was still pretty yummy because of the bison. I'd recommend trying this one! I ordered the pad Thai spice level 5 but it didn't taste the way pad Thai should. I've had very spicy pad Thai in the past, but it's never stayed on my lips the way this did. All it did was numb them and while the flavor was good, the numbness made it not enjoyable. I should clarify that I'm not from the area, I was just passing through on a road trip. Driving through Teton Village and Jackson on my way to Grand Teton National Park was so fun. Well, I found out soon enough. We were offered seats at the bar but it took them 30 mins to get our order ! And when the food arrived, it was so average. And at super inflated prices. After a day in Grand Teton National Park, you should drive to Teton Village and check this place out. We had the best Pineapple Fried Rice I've ever tasted. It's a small but awesome restaurant with very friendly staff and quick service. The menu says "let us know if you have any food allergies" so we did. What I didn't expect was someone to come out from the kitchen and let us know that one of the marinades included something that might cause us a problem. What an amazing attention to detail! Not sure what happened to my beloved Teton Thai. We ordered the egg rolls as a starter: the provided sauce was bitter, not the usual great sauce they serve. I got the panang salmon. I think they had forgotten this dish, as it took almost 45 minutes to receive it. The salmon was hard, inedible. An experienced server could have seen the overcooked salmon- they looked like rocks, and inquired about a replacement. So disappointing. There were only 1 or 2 other tables being served. When I called about my messed-up order, they literally said: "get to typing bud" and "that was a cute threat, do what you need to do." Excuse me? That's how you talk to paying customers? They forgot half our order, and the food we did get was wrong. We ordered mild, and what we got was inedible -- so spicy it burned, and the spice level on the jars was literally scratched out from a "4" to a "2." If that's not shady, I don't know what is. The food itself? Disgusting. Couldn't even eat it. Between the attitude and the quality, it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Save yourself the money and the stomach ache. This was my last time ever ordering Thai food in Teton Village -- absolutely disgraceful Ambiance sucks. Was so long to even get our food. Horrendous. We drove through here on the drive in to Jackson. 6 tables inside, more out on their somewhat enclosed patio. We had no idea a Thai place was even here until we did a search. Food pics look pretty good. It is hard to tell if they use fresh Thai chili to spice up their food from the pics though. The waiter confirmed they do use fresh Thai chili for their entree dishes, clearly not used for the green beans. They do indicate all the way at the bottom of their online menu that they do charge 20% gratuity on some bills and for sure on carry out bills. What is up with this mandatory 20% gratuity on carry out and may be placed on our bill. What happens when the service is subpar or just awful, guests still have to be extorted for 20% tip for average service and after charge is placed on the bill too. If we didn't drive to the other side of the mountain to get here, we would go back to Jackson Hole. Thai hot is level 3 here. They can go up to level 5. We ordered one pad Thai with crispy duck ($2 up charge) with added veggies at a level 5 and one pad Thai with chicken and added veggies medium hot as well as fried green beans medium spicy. $76.32 The green beans are flash fried and then covered with dry Thai chilies, not fresh. The dry chilies tends to make one cough more as you eat it, because it's a dry powder. The black garlic sauce is good, soy saucy flavors and nice garlic and ginger flavoring to it. $12 does seem rather pricey for the small amount of green beans provided. The pad Thai tasted pretty good, but my medium was mild at best and my husband's level 5 spice was about a medium. We had to ask for two more ramekins of dry fried chilies. Also they don't use fresh chilies. They use dry dried red chilies to get their heat from what we could tell. Our empty green bean plate has been sitting at our table for a bit too long. The bathroom could use some TLC on the walls as well as the white tiles, looking a bit dirty. read more

We finally took a visit here over the Fourth of July weekend and this was absolutely on the radar for dinner. They are extremely popular and busy from open to close-- worth every minute of a wait. This visit we waited a quick 15 minutes and we're kindly greeted by the server who had some guided us through some fan favorites. We went with the Fried Dumplings to start -- a must try! For our main courses we got the Pad Gar Pow Duck (absolutely delicious) & the Pad See Ew. Everything is SO FRESH, full of flavor and quality ingredients. If you are ordering for take out, make sure you order at least an hour to an hour and a half ahead of time. Yellow curry with tofu was delicious. Another great find during our visit to Jackson Hole. We stayed a few nights in Teton Village, and this was one of the few standalone restaurants (not in a hotel). For a weeknight in the off-season, it was quite busy! We weren't able to be seated outside, but sat in the vestibule area instead. The ambiance inside was lively and fun. To start, we shared the salad rolls, which I enjoyed. For drinks, I got the "something naughty", which was quite good if you like mezcal. My friends also enjoyed their drinks. For dinner, I got the panang curry with chicken, which was very tasty. The star of the show though was the pad see ew with crispy duck - absolutely delicious. Once you've calmed down from the shock of overpriced Thai food (because pad thai should never be this expensive), you can finally let your taste buds savor the quality of the food. I ordered their spicy basil fried rice with crispy duck. The dish immediately hit the spot. It was so savory, and has your favorite Thai spices all in one bite, including basil. I made to finish every single grain of rice on the plate. The duck was also tender on the inside and crispy on the out. So yummy. Love this place! We took the food to go. They were delicious. The restaurent is 5-10 minutes walk from hotel Terra, it got us out of the Teton village for a little bit. The Tom Kha Gai soup was so good! Perfect coconut mushroom soup for the winter, a little bit sour and sweet and very coconutty. The Ribs was deliciously well charred, the Panang Curry was tasty, although I won't order it with the salmon again because the salmon did take on the flavor of the curry, was felt dry in the mouth. The pad Thai itself was mediocre at best, completely disappointing for the price we paid. I've had better for a fraction of the cost.
