Do not use "AFFORDABLE WELL BUILT SHEDS" or "AFFORDABLE SHEDS HOUSTON" or "TEXAS BEST SHEDS."…read more I called and explained what I wanted built ( 16X32 with 3/4 plywood floors, 2X6 rafters 16 inch on center, double top plate etc.) and he gave me a price of $7,900 which included a few thousand dollars extra for my upgrades. He sent a crew out and when done it was no where near what I ordered, but I wasn't there to insure they built it correctly so he says it's my fault. The building is junk and I'll need to disassemble and rebuild a lot of it to make it right. I spent $900 and had pad built to install the building on, but they didn't center it when they started so one side is hanging off the pad. The floors are soft, I can see daylight all over when inside; and when it rains water pours in and ponds on the OSB floor which is a huge problem. They install the windows after the siding so they just cut a hole in the building and stick the windows in from the outside without a sealer of any kind. I'd stopped by and saw this and picked up sealing tape and caulking (and lunch for the crew) to install before the windows went in, and that would have worked okay but the overcuts in the siding did not allow them to install screws to hold the window in. There are 4 screws holding each window in. Ridiculous! Where two pieces of siding meet they use a staple to join them and don't even worry about adding a stud for something to nail to, so when they miss on a whole sheet you can push on the wall and see daylight between the pieces of siding! The roof.... push on the roof near the wall and see that they missed nailing there as well so the roof is just lying on the top plate in some places. This thing is going to blow over unless I fix it. Had Dante said "I'm sorry the building was built so poorly but we'll come back out and fix the problems or build per our agreement" I'd have been okay with it and this review would have been much different, but his response is essentially that I should have been there to make sure the building was built correctly. I guess he and his builders should stick to spraying dye on people because not only do they not know how to build a shed but they don't even try. I gave away $500 in tips to these guys before the building was done and look at the mess they left me, and these pictures are AFTER I stacked their garbage!!! This isn't over. I even recommended to my neighbor, who ordered one as well. But a wind soon came up that tore off 1/3 of the shingles on one side, and loosened the rest on that side. But, no other roof in the ares seemed affected - not 2 other sheds within 20' of mine, nor any other roof. I tried many times to contact Mike, only once, he finally returned my call, & said he'd have to talk to his contractor about any coverage of his 6-year warranty to be "free of defects in material and workmanship", HE SAID, "AND I'LL GET BACK TO YOU". He NEVER did. I called, texted, emailed; sent pictures of the shingles all nailed incorrectly by text AND email. NEVER a response or call returned, not text answered. I finally had to hire a roofer to re-shingle the whole roof at my expense. he many times shook his head at the bad installation saying the way the shingles were nailed allowed the wind to very easily get underneath & lift it off. MOST shingles were nailed in the worst place to nail, staggered incorrectly, & overlapped incorrectly! (See picture) When trying to contact Mike, I tried to find his address. NO ADDRESS FOUND. Not Google maps, nor any other search engine. And NO WONDER. I'm probably not the first, nor the last. Experience was a great teacher, but it sure cost me.
