This place is amazing, I got my nose pierced here few months ago and it was great, the guy that did it for me was Aaron and he was pretty patient with me, I had an amazing experience back then, I went back to change my stud to a hoop months after I got my piercing done and they changed it for free and ended up giving me the jewelry for free and made it from scratch just for it to fit my nose (some other guy changed my ring); I loved the experience so I decided to come here again to get my nipples pierced and the experience was even better, Aaron was extremely professional and patient, he made me feel comfortable and calm, he made my fear go away and did them super fast, I love it, he gave me amazing advice on how to take care of them, where to get my jewelry, etc. Great experience, now I know where to send my friends for all their piercings, loved it read more

They took my $100 deposit and I did not get my tattoo. The day I was suppose to get it , I was told at the time in store that artist has gone for Covid testing with no further update from store or the artist. I was in town for next few days before going away for few months . Now I am back so I contacted artist and store at multiple occasions but no response from either . I am also in retail business so I understand how to treat/ deal with customers. This way there is no way I could survive running my shop. Very disappointed indeed ... read more

DO NOT COME HERE! Horribly ran business, WAY OVERPRICED ( a 1in x 1in tattoo is $100 make it make sense), owner is rude and disrespectful & has no idea what he is doing, the bathroom is disgusting and the piercers and tattoo artist are all rude and disrespectful as well. No wonder the owner wanted to hire them. Again DO NOT COME HERE unless you want to be disrespected and over pay for basic ass tattoos. Go to The Neon Jackal you have better luck there. read more

10/10 would recommend! Very laid back yet professional atmosphere. I've already gotten 2 tattoos with them and couldn't be more satisfied with their work. Went in for a mid-sized piece and got an outrageous quote. Easily three times that of other studios. Also, had a flash tat done on their Friday the 13th special, and got charged $40 extra for body location (on my hand), and the artist left out details that were on the pre-designed flash. Unfortunate to see how this business has gone downhill in the past few years. I'll sadly never return. read more

All of my tattoos have been done by Tony Baker at Texas Body Art. So,I have had 5 tattoo sessions with Tony. I don't look like the stereotypical person with tattoos, but have been welcomed and treated well every time I've walked in the door at TBA on Jones road. Tony has been very professional and has answered all my questions. It is easy to tell that his goal is to provide the best quality service possible. He takes pride in his work and it shows. I was defeated by the lack of inspiration these "artist" had. If you don't what a stock tattoo off the wall or come on with something to be traced don't bother to go here. I appreciate their adherence to CDC regulations as a Virologist. However, if you send a link and then immediately holler to call someone in from a car how can you be upset when that potential patrons don't comply? Finally, if you are that serious about face masks being worn appropriately you need to cover your nose too! If you want a typical tattoo then this is for you but don't forget your mask. read more

I came with my daughter to get her nose pierced and she's 16 years old so I had to come and she didn't have her birth certificate but she had her I.d on her and the receptionist was rude and making a scene, she was a girl who had pink hair and needs to be retrain in customer service, she was in the piercing part of Texas Body Art. read more

Tattoo turned out great! Even without an appointment, Jake was able to get me in! We went a few rounds with creative differences on what to ink - but in the end we finally saw eye-to-eye and I'm glad we did! Great artist - extremely talented. Will definitely use him for future work!! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because I didn't really like having MY creativity challenged for something in the end I'M paying for. Not to discount the artist - because it's his work - but it's my body... Other than that - no complaints!! :-) read more

Just got my rook piercing from Aaron. Originally I just looked up this place a while back to get a small tattoo and then forgot about it, but earlier today I spontaneously decided to get a piercing and this was the closest place to home. I'm so glad I randomly decided to come here. Aaron was beyond awesome, even though I didn't say much (which is how I am before a tattoo or piercing) he still did his best to make sure I was at ease and okay. Out of all the piercings I've ever done, this one was the easiest for me because the process was quick, and simple while still being informative and helpful. He was friendly from the start, and that made me feel instantly comfortable. He didn't make me feel stupid or judged like some tattoo places will often make you feel, and I will definitely be coming back soon for my navel and tragus and all other future spontaneous trips. I went to several tattoo shops in the area to kind of get a feel for the options and while every one I went in to was clean and professional, Texas Body Art's staff went above and beyond the others in being friendly and welcoming. I spoke to Justin on our first visit, who took the time to sit down and talk about what I wanted to do even though they were in the middle of a shift change. Some of the other people we spoke to at other tattoo studios were pushy about changing the idea I had and adding other elements that I really didn't want. I could tell Justin had experience and he wasn't pushy with his suggestions. He helped me choose a better color profile for the tattoo and suggested adding grass as a base to root the tattoo, but his suggestions came off as actual advice from a pro not as a sales person trying to alter my idea beyond recognition. I made an appointment for the following week and expected to spend several hours in the chair as one of my previous tattoos which was a lot less ink and detail took around 2 hours. Justin didn't use a stencil. He drew the tattoo right on my skin and asked me for my input at several stages. I made suggestions of how I would like it changed and he modified it for me. When the drawing was done to my satisfaction he started doing the actual tattoo and I anticipated a lot of pain due to the tattoo being on my ankle. I was surprised that it was no more painful then any of my other tattoos and it only took him a total of just over an hour to draw, modify and then do the actual tattoo. I love my new tattoo and I will go back to Justin and Texas Body Art for my future tattoos. read more

I have gotten 4 tattoos here. Mikey Godwin is my artist. I will never go anywhere else. I trust Mikey. He gets to know me so that when we go over my designs/ideas he know what suggestions to make and what I'll like. He can do anything. He's not a ln artist who only does the style they like most. He does it all and does it well. The shop is clean and organized. They have quite a few chairs and host guest artists also. They have won a slew of awards in Houston for being as awesome as they are. And they deserve them all. I have referred more than 5 people here and each one has been extremely satisfied. read more

I've been tatted and pierced before and this is, by far, one of the best experiences I've ever had. They had me sign all of the required consent forms via iPad. At most places, they have you sign papers that have been copied so many times you can't truly read what you're signing. I was able to walk in and get my tat done but I would strongly advise calling ahead and scheduling an appointment. I am super pleased with the tat Tony did for me. I can't wait to go back for my next one. read more

I went to the piercing shop about a week ago completely desperate as my nose had gotten an irritation bump (because I put a cheap piece of metal in it). I can't remember his name, but the piercer was so patient with all of my concerns and gave me crystal clear instructions on how to treat it. His advice was superb and my nose has made such improvement. I will be back to change my nose ring! Love this place. read more

This visit, I bought a real gold piece for my tragus and was told the total was around $190. When checking the pricing, she kept looking at her phone but would quickly lock the screen before I could actually see the breakdown. Later, I checked online and saw the front piece listed around the $170 range without tax ( they don't tax you at all after purchasing). Even if the back was an additional charge of $15, it still seems like I may have been overcharged by about $5-10. After I left, I called to ask about the pricing and was told the back post was not included -- which was never explained during the purchase. What also wasn't explained is that the back post itself is not gold either. Had I known that beforehand, I honestly wouldn't have purchased it because I have seen both the front and back in matching gold for around the same price. Now I'm stuck with a mismatched jewelry piece, it's not actually fully gold, and it's probably final sale. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of transparency regarding both the pricing and the jewelry details.

Both were not including the tip amd both were finished early. I'm a novice so maybe these deceptive practices are the norm. Also...DO NOT let them convince you to sign the document that they give you upon arrival without them filling in the price first. Have a meeting with one of the artist for a sleeve that they've quoted $4000 to be broken up into visits. Yeah, that's out of the question now.

The place is kept really clean and Johnny even offered snacks during a break. It's a private studio which is nice because I don't really a big fan of random people popping in while I'm being worked on. 5/5 In depth review of the whole process. Objective: Booking periods happen only so often. I submitted my application with two concept ideas. I received my email October 2nd telling me I was selected for the Feb/Mar cycle. I paid my booking deposit then gave them my availability, they worked with my availability and I was scheduled for March 15th. Once the appointment was confirmed I told them I'm willing to switch appointments if necessary to work around his other clients. My appointment date remained the same but my time was moved to 7am which was nice. Johnny reached out February 16 for a confirmation on the exact design (I kept going back and forth sending in different things) and March 8th I got a courtesy email for my upcoming session. I showed up to the studio and Johnny was finishing up the final design. We talked briefly on the different aspects of shading and line work but I told him that I trusted him because he's the artist and he knows what will probably look best for the final piece. The session was about 6 hours with 3 breaks. Snacks and beverages were provided. The studio itself is open with tall ceilings. It has couches and a long meeting table. The tattoo I got cover parts of my chest, my sternum, some ribs, and my upper abdomen. It was a painful tattoo Subjective: The booking process was really nice and communication from his assistant was nice. I think he got a new assistant sometime after my appointment was confirmed, nothing was wrong with his old assistant but his new one Melanie has a much more welcoming online persona. Her personality in person matches it too. Johnny comes off as a casual laid-back guy. He's nonchalant yet he's very interested in his clients. He gave me a sense of autonomy throughout the whole process. In hindsight I gave him very little to work with and while doing the final touches he was asking me what I liked specifically about the reference pictures. I sent him a couple of pictures of different designs by other artists and it was really nice to know he took them into consideration. I've been to an artist before where I brought in printed references and the artist glimpsed at it then pulled out the sketch he already had before I showed up. While I was being worked on the pain was too much for me to handle in the beginning, given the location and design it's expected to hurt. I asked if I could have a break after the main outline was done and Johnny agreed. I didn't feel any mental resistance from him. He wrapped up the area so I could go outside and get some fresh air. After that I didn't have to ask for breaks, Johnny stopped and gave me two more. I'm not sure how but Johnny knew when I was getting reaching my threshold. Given he's had years of experience I'm sure he's picked up a 6th sense on how to read people. After the main outline was done Johnny stopped and asked how I wanted the rest of the session to play out. I told him I'd prefer to do the top part of my tattoo because I knew the bold lines would hurt more and I personally like having the most painful part of a tattoo done first. Johnny is the first artist to give me that option. Johnny himself as a person is hella cool. During the whole session we didn't talk much which was nice because I just wanted to relax (i'm on spring break from nursing school and my life since august has been studying so I actually don't know how to talk to people anymore lmao). From our conversation Johnny comes off as someone who wants to know his clients. This isn't just another transaction for him. He asked me questions to get to know me but he never pushed me to share. We both shared stories and aspects of lives that were interesting. Melanie went out for a bit and offered to pick something up. Johnny asked if I wanted anything which was really nice and I asked for coffee and a sandwich. When she came back I offered to pay and Johnny told me that he'd pay for it ( johnny is just nice af). This is my opinion but getting a tattoo is only cool after you get it. When I'm getting work done I'm being vulnerable to the public. I'm not a fan of getting work done while random people walk by watching me trying to hold myself together. The whole process is just painful and it sucks. I like this studio because it's just him and his assistance. Overall I had a really great experience. It's only been 4 days but I wake up every morning still in awe at his work. Pros: Johnny is cool Melanie is nice final product is dope snacks privacy Cons: that shit hurted

There's no rushing you from station to station to get you out the door. My nails curve naturally and they take time to shape and protect them from breaking. My natural nails are super long and strong--people always ask if they're fake! The products they use don't leave dips in my nails and my nails are so protected that they survive at least a month of daily typing, furniture assembly, and playing with my energetic dog.
