Texas Children's Urgent Care staff were amazing and helped immensely when my son needed stitches during the work week. I tried everything to get the bleeding to stop as I hate going to hospitals. We were told it was an hour wait and I had all 3 of my kiddos in tow with me way past their dinner time and bed time. I felt like we were seen without too long of a wait 40 minutes or so. All the staff were very attentive, patient and friendly. They burrito wrapped my almost four year old who normally needs multiple people to hold him for shots and this time he was almost falling asleep while the amazing doctor stitched him up! We are so grateful it was so easy and to have such great care close by to us! read more

We brought our nine month old in yesterday and I cannot express enough our gratitude for the staff we encountered. We love our pediatrician also at Texas children's but are unable to get in to see her all day. After calling in and trying multiple other avenues we were referred to the Texas Children's Urgent Care. From the receptionist to the check in nurse to the wonderful professional that treated her (I believe last name SCHEXNAIDER) they were all amazing. It's heartbreaking to have a sick baby and be running around trying to get her seen the person that treated her was not only sweet and thorough with our baby but also compassionate and personable to us. The staff here are amazing. The girls at the front desk, Amaya and Adrianna, were so nice. Amaya really went out of her way to help us! This place is also very clean. The nurse was great. I went to this location at 4:30 PM on 11/14/2021 my first time. My daughter was sick. I was greeted by the receptinist and provided all of the necessary information and sat down on the waiting area. About 15 minutes later the receptionist called me and told me that I need it to go to back to the parking lot and sit down in my car because the wait was going to be 1.5 hours or longer. I was surprise by such request considering that they were only 2 -3 people also at the wait area. So I asked her why in my car? She again repeated her request to wait in my car, by now her reply was in a different tone of voice. I said to her that this was the first time that I ever heard such request. So I asked her if she have that on writing or posted some were. At that moment she became very upset and started yelling to me the following "Okay sir sit down anywhere you want". I told her that she was very disrespectful and that I need it to speak to her supervisor which by the way she was not there. Eventually one of the head nurses came to me and I explained the situation. She responded that thereasons the ask you to wait in the car was because of COVID. I replied by saying that the receptionist never said or mentioned when I asked why. I told them that they need it to have that type of request posted somewhere in the lobby area for people to see it and avoid this type of issues. Do not always to people to comply with such request. Bottom line receptionists need to be properly train on their job description and most of all on the "DO & DON'T of her position. Clearly this person was out of line. Almost 3 hours later my daughter was evaluated and prescriptions were given. Before I left I again requested to have the office manager to contact me. UPDATE: Today I was contacted by Mrs. Megan and again I explained what transcribed that day. She expressed her apologies and said that this particular receptionist was a filler on that day. I explained to Mrs. Megan that this type of employees are not good for their business don't matter how good the doctors and nurses are at that location, they will damage the business and their reputation. I hope that Mrs. Meagan can make the time to insure that their present or temporary receptionists are train and have a clear understanding of their boundaries and the "Do & Don't involve in their capacities to avoid loss of business and fewer complaints. Overall on the medical part they did the job that was expected. Thank you for that. Also thank you Mrs Megan for contacting me and for listening. Your job is not easy, but when you in charge "you are in charge", everything that goes wrong on the staff or office operations, it will reflect on you. State clearly your office standards and procedures and enforce them when necessary. read more

The wait was ridiculous. We were there for almost 3 hours! 30 minutes in the waiting room. 10 minutes with nurse. 30 minutes waiting for the doctor to come in. 15 minutes with the doctor. Another 30 waiting for the x-ray technician. Another 30 waiting for results of those results. About 10 for discharge papers. My teen daughter couldn't stand, but they insisted she get up from the wheelchair to be weighed. She was shaking and crying she was in so much pain. Then they left her in the exam room in the wheelchair which was VERY uncomfortable for her. They didn't offer to help her lie on the exam bed. They offered Tylenol for pain. Tylenol for a 15 (almost 16) year old. In the amount of pain she was in, something stronger should have been offered. Neither the nurse or doctor didn't clean, care for, or bandage the wounds, only examined them while she was in the wheelchair. They didn't exam the rest of her body. She woke up overnight with chest pain and it hurt to breathe. Her head hurts even though she didn't hit it. Honestly, they didn't seem to care. The waiting room was busy when we got there, filled up while we were in the exam room, but somehow was empty when we left. We were the last ones out. I saw on the board while waiting for x-rays that we had been waiting the longest. Nobody else there seemed injured. Everyone had a cold or the flu. What should have happened: seeing that my daughter had to be carried into the office, she should have been triaged quicker instead of making her lie on germ infested benches. She should have been helped onto an exam bed. She should have been offered stronger pain meds. She should have been examined head to toe. Her wounds should have been cared for. She should have been given ice packs. And after seeing the reason she was there, they should have ordered the x-rays right away instead of making us wait. The nicest person in the place was whoever took us to the x-ray room and performed her x-rays. She was caring and empathetic. Unfortunately I don't remember her name. I will now await the standard textbook reply that somebody somewhere will write below telling me to contact someone in the office, who won't do anything. It's not like they're going to refund my money. So why bother. Just won't go there again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. My first visit there was great no issues. Went last night and wasted time and money. First off they need to be trained to handle autistic children and not look at us like they don't know what to do. So they have my son a catheter causing him extreme pain and refuse to help with the pain. Oh and they cannot call the doctor that seen him last night because she isn't there today. I've heard how Texas Children's is going down hill fast and sadly now I believe it. Don't take ur kids here unless u want to waste time and be misdiagnosed. Especially is you have a child with special needs avoid this place they must not have learn anything about special needs while in school. read more

I'm basing this review on my own experience with three visits with three different kids with the same condition and the visits were within 10 days of each other. We keep our kids in the TCH System when it comes to healthcare. The Fairfield facility is nice and new, but the staff seems just as green as well. I walked in two minutes after they opened at 4:30pm, and it was an hour before being seen. The nurse seemed perturbed by my one year old kicking & screaming when she was trying to take his temperature. It seemed like she just walked off and left us in an exam room for 20 minutes--I measured the time---before coming back. I've been to a lot of TCH facilities and they're always nice, the staff super great, and the wait times not too bad, but I can't say that here. The doctor I saw was nice, but the pace is too slow. It's unusual to me because I have family that practices medicine, and they can see patients much more quickly than this, so I can say this place is slow--not that any clinic is a NASCAR Pit Crew. The kids' TCH primary care physician's clinic is much much more efficient than the Fairfield TCH Urgent Care location. The name "Urgent Care" for this place is an irony. You still have to pay the full price, so you keep that in mind. I sign off on this review having waited for 1.5 hours now. It's going to be a long evening. I'm estimating it'll take 1 to 1.5 hours more before we're out of here. read more

Absolutely wonderful staff!!! From the front desk to the nurses to the doctors, just amazing people. My son woke up crying in pain saying his ear hurt really bad and he had a high fever. Took him here and they immediately got him back and took care of him. The doctor, don't have his name on hand but red hair and red beard, just an awesome guy. Really happy these people are running the show up there. I'm very iffy about doctors and hospitals so this urgent care really showed out. I came here for my child because she was sick...& I have to say the place reeks of suck people. Now I've been to offices where it's smelt a lot better. You can tell the staff isn't cleaning the rooms after patients. I only came here because it was close to my house but the next time my kids are sick or injured illnesses going down to Nightlight Urgent Care. I did a save my spot in line place and he didn't get called back until 45m after he was checked in at the front and then when we got in the room, the provider didn't come back to see us for another hour. There were barely anyone in the office, probably 2 patients and they had two doctors, 1 nurse and two front desk people. I will never come here again. read more

The staff was rude at front desk. When asked what medication if any were given I told them Motrin because he was in pain. The nurse then went back to her co workers to tell them I gave my child Motrin without fever and they all proceeded to laugh. I think it was very unprofessional to laugh at a client only 3 feet away. I am a mother who's child was in pain with a cold and didn't need to deal with a classless staff. After the fact , they came to tell me my child had an ear infection and prescribed him a higher dosage than normal. My child did not have an ear infection. I felt iffy when they told me he did so I held back on picking up the medication until I saw his actual doctor. His doctor the next morning told me he did NOT have an ear infection in either ears. And the medication they were telling me to give my son was not correct. So not only was the staff incredibly inconsiderate to me and my son by laughing at a mother. But they also were giving false and incorrect diagnosis. I came here because it was close and I was a worried mother. And left feeling embarrassed and upset. I doubt this review will do anything. But I hope it does reach someone who can understand where my frustration is coming from. And maybe hiring more understanding staff, especially to be working around kids and scared/worried parents. I get everyone has a job and you just get through a shift but DO and BE better. read more

This should not be called an urgent care. It is really an after hours/walk in clinic. The wait time online said 23 minutes and we waited 3 hours only to be told they don't do imaging and we had to start the entire process all over at the ER at the main hospital. They ask what you are there for when you check in, so they should have appropriately triaged my child from the start. They did nothing for him and still charged us. read more

Excellent patient care. Headed to the urgent care center yesterday after we were unable to get into our primary care facility. Arrived at opening time so there was a small crowd due to flu's etc. Arrived with my sons broken hand and we were seen, x-rayed, diagnosed and a temporary cast was placed within two hours. Was advised to contact orthopedics for an appointment in the morning however as soon as we arrived home Texas children's Orthopedics called us and made the appointment for today. My visits to this location have been pleasant up until the last 2 recent visits. The 2 receptionist are very distinct with one being very welcoming and greeting you with a smile the other well not so much. The one who is welcoming has even remembered me and is very empathetic to my concerns with daughter she's usually the one who gives me the paperwork to fill out. The other one however is the one I turned my forms too and it she's very unwelcoming no emotion always seems disturbed doesn't speak not to mention was unprofessional having her earphones on my last visit on 04/05/2018 it's like she has no type of customer service manner. If you're going to work the front then you may want to take notes from the other girl bc we're already overwhelmed and stressed with our sick babies so the negative vibe she gives off doesn't help. The entire staff was amazing and so caring but she's the only one who doesn't care about the patients clearly is only there for a paycheck. read more

Checked in about 4:20 today and was out by 6pm. Son was coughing, temp of 102.4, couple coughing fits that made it hard to catch his breath. Came after a dose of Tylenol which brought his temp to 99.9. Sat in the waiting room for maybe 15 min which included the time it took to fill out paperwork. NP came in within 10mina of vitals being taken. It took so long because we did a dose of an inhaler. Had to to wait and see if it cleared up His lunge, when it didn't we had to do a nebulizer treatment which took 20-25 min. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and showed they cared. Also Reminded as to follow up our PCP since this is an Urgent Care not our regular doctor. read more

Do not bring your child to this place...there is a revolving door of doctors that cannot be contacted for any follow up needs. Been here two times with my son. First visit back in February was awesome! The gentleman at the front greeted us right away and took us to a room and offered us some beverages while we waited to be seen. NP came in and look at my son over and sent us on our way. Short and simple visit. Yesterday afternoon I was in the area and decided to get my son checked out since he'd been pulling his ear. Was greeted right away by a young lady at the front and whisked away to a room right away. NP came in almost immediately and did the exam, gave us the diagnosis, sent the prescription to our preferred Walgreens and sent us on our way. Again short and simple visit. Second time was not offered any beverages though and the front desk lady almost charged me $20 more than what I should've paid if I hadn't stopped her. Once I asked her if she could see the copays she said she saw two. I guess they are trained if they see two, they should automatically charge the patient the higher copay. I was slightly bothered at this but let it go. All in all I will return if need be but know your plans people and question if something doesn't sound right! Otherwise highly recommend! read more
