Not the best Texas de Brazil location I've been to in terms of food, but then again maybe they've gone downhill a bit as a chain or the novelty has worn off. For anyone who has never been, it's still a definitely a must try once. However, if you're familiar with the all-the-meat-you-can-eat concept and have high expectations, you may be a bit disappointed. Only one of the meats really wowed me. Seasoning was good, just a tad salty. The salad bar here did really impress me, everything, even the lettuce, was totally fresh. Service was friendly. The interior was freezing, the AC was set to a temperature much colder than it needed to be, which made it not only unpleasant, but also made your food go cold really fast.

Loved our Thanksgiving dinner here. It's been a while since my family has been here but the service was fantastic and they seated us quickly. The buffet and salad bar were freshly stocked and we were able to get some sides for our meats. The selection of meats were great and cooked to our preference. Our server Jennifer was very helpful and had my lamb chops order brought to our table. Overall we enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back another time.

This was the first time my husband and I visited this restaurant. The over sized centerpieces and decor was beautiful. The atmosphere was refreshing and beautiful. The service was amazing and staff was pleasant. Everything about this experience was great up until my server or concierge presented the check and stated that the gratuity was not included. First off it's not a law that's written anywhere that a patron must include gratuity. I dine out well enough to know that at the bottom of the check will let you know if gratuity has been calculated in the meal or not. Let me at least see the check before it's even told to me. Then when I receive the check it's all marked up with X's and all types of lines indicating the gratuity breakdown. I find that offensive and unprofessional for a restaurant of this tier. I don't know if they all have been trained to do that and if every single patron's receipt looks like mine did but it was pretty degrading seeing this receipt. Staff needs to be retrained to Uphold fine dining etiquette standards.

We were pretty disappointed with the meat selection. It was very fatty and chewy. They only sent out their "expensive" specials once. When we asked our waiter to send over some medium rare filet mignon, the chef sent it over raw. Everything was over seasoned to make you drink water and fill up quick. Not worth the $64. Random $.50 ID charge on the receipt as well...we didn't order alcohol. Pass.

The salad bar is awesome. They come around frequently with the meats but the better meats like Filet Mignon don't come around that often. The fried banana was delivered to the table it did not look appealing at all. The Lobster Bisque was awesome. The mashed potatoes were not good at all. Seemed watery to me.

Cous cous at the salad bar!! Get it!!

Like many women's clubs in Florida, the Hollywood Women's Club was founded in 1922 during the Florida Land Boom years. In the 1920's women's clubs were formed to give back to the community. They became a way for women to get out of the house and assert their independence. They allowed women to get involved in politics and launched the women's rights movement. The Hollywood Women's Club predated the founding of the city and in 1924 they joined the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The first club members were the wives of officers in the J.W. Young Organization which was the development company building Hollywood. They met in the first clubhouse that was built on land donated by the founder of Hollywood, Joseph W. Young in 1927. Early club projects included donating hundreds of books to the first public library, holding tag sales to pay for health screenings for children, giving migrating farmers assistance with housing and welfare, getting the Miami Telephone Co. to bring the first telephone line to town, and collecting $12,000 during a war bonds drive. Today the club supports literacy programs, funds a youth scholarship, participates in the Hollywood Historical Society, supports the neighborhood crime watch, and provides financial aid to many state charities through the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The original plans for the clubhouse included an ornate Mediterranean Revival style. After the collapse of the land boom due to the Great Depression and several hurricanes the design was scaled back to a more affordable $25,000 Classical Revival style building in 1927. The building was listed as a a local historical landmark in 1985, and added to the National Register of Historic Place in 1995. Between 2012 and 2014 money was raised by the club and added to a grant to prevent the clubhouse from sinking into the sand. Other cosmetic work was also completed on this charming historical building. In 2022 the Hollywood Women's Club celebrated their 100th anniversary. During this time further electrical improvements and upgrades to the kitchen were made. Today the clubhouse is available to be rented for private events. The 1,200 square foot main event room has hardwood floors and a grand piano and can accommodate 60 people. There is also a catering kitchen. Information on how to rent the clubhouse and join and volunteer with this important civic organization can be found on the club website. If there are any upcoming events you can find that information as well. For instance they hold 2 round bingo nights for $10. The next bingo night is May 30th and they serve inexpensive drinks including alcohol and snacks. For over 100 years the women of Hollywood have been coming together to improve their local community as well as the state of Florida. Women's clubs have a legacy of helping their communities and it's nice to see that this one is still going strong today.

There are a few organizations that host such parties here (at the time of this writing, a couple nights I particularly enjoy are the monthly Salaholics and Noche Divina socials). The space itself is very aesthetically pleasing, thanks largely to the nicely done ceiling drapery, the dance floor is great, and there is plenty of table seating (with white tablecloths... classy!) around the perimeter of the floor. The parking situation perhaps isn't ideal, as flow into and out of the grass lot across the one-way street can be a little awkward, but it's not a big problem.

He took time out of his extremely busy schedule to make sure I had all of my questions answered and even set up meeting times so he could give me his undivided attention. I had approximately 130 invites sent out, note that Club Tropical can fit that many people more than comfortably and you'd still have plenty room for a dance floor. Elvis coordinated the 3-course Haitian Caribbean meal. My family is Haitian-Bahamian and the feedback was the food was spot on! I'd agree with that sentiment, the food was delicious! He took his time in going through decoration options down to the dinner napkins and what was all included in my top package. Not only decor, but the floral arrangements were included and coordinated too. He was such a blessing in helping me honor my mother's life I am forever thankful for him and his team! He exceeded my already high expectations. Elvis added extra pieces to my event that truly set it off and set it a part. My family said it will be a night they will never ever forget and they're so glad we didn't go with a traditional funeral. Special thanks to his event coordinator, Caroline, who basically waited on me hand and foot as the host to make sure I could do what all I needed to do as smoothly as possible and that the event transitioned perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better celebration with any other venue. You want a one stop shop, come to Club Tropical and use their caterer Broward Catering.
