Been at this location twice in the last months and both times I've had a great time. Located at the gulfstream park with plenty of parking. Both times I went on a weekend without reservations and there was plenty of sitting available. At no point I saw them busy , however is a big location so is hard to fill up. Price for dinner is about $63 and doesn't include drink or dessert. The meats were delicious and well seasoned and keep coming all night. Work had company Xmas party here for 30 people at a cost of $2,880. 2-stars for service, drinks, ambiance. 1. Alcohol: It's Miami so we all ordered Mojitos and they tasted like gasoline. So we reordered vodka & tonic, Jack & Coke - drinks that can't be made wrong. This is funny, but they forgot the tonic and just served straight vodka! Jeff ordered a glass of Pepsi and it took 90 minutes to get it. Also they only refilled our water goblets once in 3 hours. 1-star for the beverage service. 2. Salad bar: They had us eat salad for over one hour which is less expensive than meat; but the salad bar was exotic. Kalamata olives, marinaded artichoke, grilled garlic cloves, sautéed mushrooms, salmon, prosciutto, sliced parmigiano cheese, lobster bisque, and many more items. 4-stars for the Salad Bar. 3. The Meats. It's a steakhouse so meat is the Star Performer. First they bring out the inexpensive meats like sausages and chicken and overcooked beef. I skipped all those. Finally they brought the flank beef steak and the lamb. The lamb was amazing and I got exactly 3 bites of it. Again, we paid $80 per person plus a 20% gratuity. 4. Rest Period. For an unknown reason, the staff left us alone for more than 30 minutes while we sat with empty plates. 5. Dessert. There was a beautiful dessert plate of six offerings that were so artistic. I actually couldn't narrow it down to even the top three choices. However, we didn't get this. We had our choice of Key Lime pie or Banana Foster pie. Almost everyone chose the Banana Foster pie and it was 5-star delicious. Since this is a chain restaurant, I don't know if it was baked on the premises or shipped in frozen. 4-stars for dessert. 6. Ambience. Here is where the restaurant truly downgraded our holiday party. They had a beautiful dining room with floral arrangements and statues, but they didn't seat us there even though it was nearly empty. They put us in a tight closet where we were literally elbow to elbow and that's why we had poor service. Luckily we're a great crew who enjoy each other's company, so we made the best of the tight uncomfortable seating. This closet they put us in didn't even have artwork on the walls or one centerpiece. It was a disappointment since we expected fancy treatment. 1-star for the party room and the ambiance. I haven't been to a Texas de Brazil in quite a few years. The last time I went was in Yonkers NY that experience was pretty good. As for the Hallandale branch, we had a lovely meal! The meat was mostly good and man there is a lot of it. The sirloin, filet mignon and some of the lamb was fantastic. But some cuts were a little chewy or sinewy, which we didn't like. I was also a little underwhelmed with the salad bar which was much smaller than what they had up in New York . But what was there was pretty good, the salads and vegetables were all fresh. I didn't try any of the hot dishes but they had a nice variety of rice, beans, potatoes etc. For dessert they had sautéed bananas with some cinnamon sauce which was delicious. Overall it cost $220 for two adults and three kids. So with tax and tip it was just about $300. $60 bucks a head for unlimited reasonable quality steak and salad bar, I guess that's pretty fair. Apparently there is a confluated way to apply for a coupon in order to have a free dessert; the cost of which is minimal compared to the overall cost which the patron pays for the meal. I noted that the best cuts of meats are not served up until the end and the rib offering came and went in a jiffy; it did not show up again as per our request but we waved off the lapse and continued with our "paid for" dessert. Loved our Thanksgiving dinner here. It's been a while since my family has been here but the service was fantastic and they seated us quickly. The service was amazing and staff was pleasant. Everything about this experience was great up until my server or concierge presented the check and stated that the gratuity was not included. First off it's not a law that's written anywhere that a patron must include gratuity. I dine out well enough to know that at the bottom of the check will let you know if gratuity has been calculated in the meal or not. Let me at least see the check before it's even told to me. Then when I receive the check it's all marked up with X's and all types of lines indicating the gratuity breakdown. I find that offensive and unprofessional for a restaurant of this tier. I don't know if they all have been trained to do that and if every single patron's receipt looks like mine did but it was pretty degrading seeing this receipt. From the lamb chops to the beef ribs to the famous picaña, finger licking good. Then you hit their mashed potatoes, bananas and the cheesy bread-heaven. Surprisingly or maybe not surprisingly, the parking lot at dolphin mall was full of cars and lots of people just like any other day. We chose build your own Churrasco feast that includes 2lbs of meats, we chose picanha and flank steak along with 2 sides, rice and beans and the little cheese breads for around $60. We also added various a la carte dishes to feed our group. The food is always delicious here and all the meats are perfectly cooked. We arrived at the bar to pick up and a lady asked us to wait a couple minutes but never returned. After a good while, we finally managed to have someone assist us. We had to wait a while. WI have eaten at Texas de Brazil before and had really good experiences. This time wasn't as good as the other ones. First of all, we made a reservation and still had to wait almost fifteen minutes to be seated. The server took awhile to greet us and we actually began to look around for a server. When she did eventually arrive, she was sort of brisk and didn't have much personality. I realized that she was busy and had a few tables and that could have contributed to her matter-of-factness. My main complaint was that the people with the meat didn't come around enough. They would come all at once for a few minute and then nothing for 10-15 minutes. The server also spent a ridiculed amount of time at one table. I don't know if she knew those guests or not. It was like they received top notch service while her other tables received subpar service.The food was good and the salad bar was ok. I have only been to the one at the Dolphin Mall. I hated that the location is 2 floors and you have to go up and down stairs or an elevator. The location at Gulfstream is one floor which made me happy. First, our server was awesome. He was extremely friendly and left us with no questions. He explained everything wonderfully, asked how the rest of the table liked their meats cooked and told me that there were many options for me to eat. I asked if the black beans had meat. He said he believed it did. I asked if they had any without meat available (like they do at Chima's) he said no, but there were a lot of other options on the salad bar. He was correct. I totally had plenty of things to eat. The pineapple carpaccio was amazing! I do wish there was something hot I could have had other than white rice, but the veggies and salads available were awesome and I didn't leave hungry. I also was okay with the price point (I think it was $27 ish). The Gauchos were super friendly and the one with the filet joked with our table a lot. Our friend was excited when the server came over with the dessert tray and let him choose any dessert he wanted on the house. He chose the chocolate cake and it looked amazing. My husband had the carrot cake and was excited it didn't have raisins. The desserts are huge. We purchased gift cards at Costco ($150 for $200 in gift cards - no exclusions). Our friend had purchased a special discount card that for $63 you get full priced meals at 50% off. So we saved $72 on the 3 carnivore meals. Kids' meals are automatically 50% of adults' meal price. Appreciate that although we were a party of 6, gratuity was not added. All in all it was a fun time and the food was great. My vegan wife, although they could not make her any black beans with out the meat in it, there was plenty of good options on the salad bar for her.
