There was an event on Sunday on Hollywood Blvd. and it was perfect day to enjoy a meal outdoors and people watch. When I ordered the most basic of dishes, Skirt Steak and Beef Empanada, they were sold out. Not sure who is running the show now, but management is lost, the place feels different, and I was told everyone was new. A restaurant which can't supply themselves with Skirt Steak where there are places to buy this cut of beef for restaurant establishments tells me one thing....they just could care less of having a popular cut of beef for their patrons. We visited the Young Circle area in Hollywood to grab a bite to eat. With so many choices available, we wandered around until Angus caught our eye. Given the reputation of the nearby restaurants, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, while there were a few highlights, the lows were hard to overlook. Starting with the positives, the live music was enjoyable and added a nice touch to the ambiance. The mojitos were delicious--I had a strawberry one, and my wife had a coconut one. However, the negatives overshadowed these positives. Although our server was friendly, the service was very slow. My wife ordered the braised chicken with rice, while I had the NY strip with mashed potatoes. The chicken was dry, and the rice was overcooked and mushy. My steak was unseasoned, and even the chimichurri sauce couldn't save it from being flavorless. If you're after great mojitos and live music, this is a good spot. Together we ordered Salchicha Parrillera (Curly Sausage), a Churrasco Steak and French Fries. Other than the French Fries, the food was not edible. We used to come to this place when it was across the street and called Beefeater. Their skirt steak used to be $6.95 and it came with a garden salad and a side at lunch time. Gosh those were the days! While visiting this time, we decided to venture back to our old, once (often twice) a week lunch spot. When you walk in you immediately notice the large bar area, with tons of booths on the walls and other tables filling in the middle space. The theme is Argentinian and they have beautiful pictures on the walls. In the back left they have a stage which I assume they have live entertainment use on weekends. There's a projector screen behind it which was playing music videos. They were a nice watch. They also have at least one TV by the bar. The place is clean and well kept. The bathrooms feel like they're never going to appear because of the corridor they're in and they're old bathrooms, so don't expect much but they were fine. We ordered two skirt steaks, one with house salad, one with French fries and then a chicken tenders with fries kids meal. The Skirt steak was amazing just as we remembered! Cooked a perfect medium with the right amount of char. It was tender and juicy and huge. The fries were crisp but soft on the inside and had the perfect amount of salt. The house salad wasn't just iceberg lettuce but other leaves as well. The chicken tenders were incredible- like rival your favorite chicken tender spot incredible! Soft juicy chicken somehow breaded and fried with a crispy outside! Our most favorite thing of all though, is the chimichurri and bread. Oh. My. Word. We can not find chimichurri that tastes like this ANYWHERE- and we've lived and traveled all over the world! It tastes exactly like when we first became addicted. Just divine! The ambiance could use some extra finesse, and I only say this because it's super low key and the area calls for more of an active vibe. Perhaps it's the live music stage that plays mostly concerts on the background? This can be approved but, I never stops us from coming in. I feel like most people don't know about their happy hour... which is phenomenal- for both drinks and food. The empanadas are packed with flavor and zero grease. I opted to sit outside since it was nice and I could people watch :) I ordered the special - filet mignon w/ mashed potatoes and a glass of Pinot noir. The best choice I've made all day. I should've gotten the filet medium well but I have a habit of ordering the temp light since most places tend to over cook - just my luck that they'd get it right LOL. With the filet already fatty + the medium temp, the texture was a little chewy but not enough for me not to enjoy it. No steak sauce needed so you know it was good, the potatoes had a hint of sweet to it but it was more of a surprise than a turn off. I took my boys here for a mother and sons date and had a wonderful time with my boys in a beautiful looking restaurant, delicious food. I loved the experience. I ordered a mojito and the mint was fresh and happy hour prices... Fresh bread served with chimichurri sauce and of course soft butter squares. We ordered lasagna and skirt steak with mashed potatoes and skirt steak with rice. The skirt steak was more rare than what I ordered but worked out wel for next warmed left overs, so not a big deal but had to order a side plate because the blood was still coming out and if I looked at it too long than I would have been turned off from my food. They just re-opened under new management and I am digging their nightly line-ups! My favorite night so far has been Saturday's where they do the live music. What I like about it is it's not just Argentinean/Latin music and the duo singers are fantastic and lively. The day Saturday I went was packed, tons of people dancing and having a good time - it really felt like a big family. Great atmosphere. I also happen to come by on a Tuesday which I thought was Jazz night but there was no live music while I was there which was disappointing but maybe I was there too early. Both time the empanadas have been orgasmic - i had beef and the onion and cheese. The drinks are delicious and if you want something traditional get the Fernet and coke. It's been years since I attended this place. The ambience is very good and even though has classy look you can dress casual. We went for lunch on a Saturday at 2 and didn't have to wait at all to be seated. Start the table with bread and a delicious chimichurri. We ordered the parrilla which comes with a mix of chicken, steak, blood sausage, Argentinian sausage, "molleja" and two sides. The steak was incredible, one of the best steaks I've tried, add a bit of chimichurri and prepare to enjoy. The blood sausage (morcilla)was also very good, very unique taste compared to Colombian morcilla. Three stars is given for the rest of the food. The chicken came under cooked and we had to return it for them to cook it more. The molleja I didn't like, its the first time I tried it but it could be just my taste for this specific type of food. I've been coming to this restaurant for years, from the time they were across the street, I like the new look, really nice ambiance, modern and relax. Till you start listening to the music that they play, they have some random music service that plays mix music, it went from Christmas music to Cardi B, rap, hip hop, with explicit and vulgar lyrics. It just kill our mood completely. Not nice considering I was there with my son and husband having a family meal. Told our waitress about it and asked for a manager, she said she was the manager. Sunday afternoon we were walking by downtown Hollywood. We were getting hungry when we passed by this restaurant. We liked the variety and decided to give it a try. What a wonderful culinary experience from beginning to end. Excellent appetizers, entrees and dessert. I have to say I am not usually able to eat dessert because by the time I'm finished with the appetizers and the meal I am satisfied. However, in this restaurant is definitely worth it saving room!! Do not go to this restaurant! They give you expired food! The manager does not know how to manage or speak to his customers. We went to celebrate my brothers birthday. We were the only ones in the restaurant. We ordered parilla and the morsilla was expired my mother had to spit it out. Actually, we didn't know where/what we wanted to eat, so I brought us here to Hollywood Blvd and we parked and checked out the menus at a few different restaurants before settling on Angus Steak House. We were seated right away, and our server was friendly, outgoing and attentive all night (which can be a rare thing in S. Florida!). We ordered the provoleta cheese to start, which was served in the same small skillet it was heated in, along with slices of tomato and oregano. We also ordered a bottle of wine (the most expensive one on the menu was priced at less than $41/bottle) and the waitress also brought us a basket of bread, bread sticks, chimichurri and butter. The chimichurri sauce was some of the best I've had..It went very well with both the bread and the steak. For our main courses, my partner ordered the sirloin, and I had the skirt steak. Both priced out at just under $24 and came with your choice of side (fries, mashed potatoes, salad, etc.). Both our steaks were VERY good, but my skirt steak was so large that I really had to push myself to eat more than I should've, and even then I was unable to fully finish it. We were treated to a very good meal here at Angus, where we had an appetizer, bread, a good bottle of wine and each had an excellent steak with a side and also each had a cappuccino with whipped cream to finish. It was okay,the eggplant kept separating from the cheese and couldn't seem to get it onto my fork in one piece. So not my all time favorite dish, I've had better. Was walking through downtown Hollywood looking for a new place to eat when I stumbled upon Angus. The weather was perfect for an outdoor dinner and 2 for 1 mojitos! I ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious! I only wish the tortillas were flour rather than corn. My boyfriend ordered a cheeseburger to which described as "just how I'd want a cheeseburger to be" - whatever that means! His came with fries which I couldn't get enough of. We both waited a solid hour for our food. The server didn't notice until we saw her distracted enjoying the live singer on stage and saw us giving her a blank stare.
