Me and my wife came to this establishment and it was great, the food was amazing, the staff was very friendly and helpful. If you're a meat eater you need to check out Texas de Brazil!

We decided to eat here on a whim as we were craving a good steak. I didn't have any expectations for this place, as I've never been to a Texas de Brazil (only a Fogo de Chau), and I was pleasantly surprised. We did go there on off hours, so we were seated immediately, and the appetizer buffet was fully stocked. Their choices almost seemed more abundant than at Fogo de Chau, but their prosciutto/cured meats didn't seem fresh (the crackers were stale). The rest of the buffet bar was delicious, and I always like to try a little of everything. The meats during lunch/afternoons are more limited (compared to dinner, when they have lobster and filet mignon), but there there are plenty of choices. Their sirloin, if I remember correctly, was the best cut. I usually go for the picanha, the prized Brazilian cut of meat, but this time it was a little on the dry side. I like that you can request if you want the meat a little more well done, or if you prefer medium rare. They also offer specialty drinks made with coconut and condensed milk, but you have to ask! If you're feeling carnivorous, definitely give this place a try!

Location: 5 Parking: 5 (valet parking available) Cleanliness: 5 Quality of food: 5 Presentation: 5 Service: 5 Price: 3 Having just spent 2 weeks in Brazil I was curious as to how Texas de Brazil varied from Brazilian churrascarías. I had a gift card, so my son and I tried it out. We were greeted and seated quickly. The employees were friendly and did their job well. The place is very classy, spacious and well maintained. A great place to impress a special guest, ...especially if they're really hungry and are not vegan. Meat is the specialty here. The food and service were top notch. I loved the beautiful presentation of salad bar and hot food side dishes and quality of the food. Self serve sides included scalloped potatoes, traditional black beans and rice (though it was not a Brazilian feijoada which includes pork for flavor), fish filets in a sauce, lobster bisque soup, lots of salad items (including palm hearts, marinated onions, potato salad, olives, cheeses, cold salmon, and more. Be sure to get some vinaigrette relish or chimichurri at the salad bar to accompany your meats. The server brought garlic mashed potatoes, cinnamon plantains and wonderful freshly made "pão de queijo" to our table along with our drinks. They carry lots of wines, but I got the guaraná Brazilian soda pop I like served with an orange slice just like in Brazil. A few differences between traditional Brazilian churrascarías and Texas de Brazil to accommodate the American palate: in Brazil there are no salad dressings such as ranch or blue cheese. They use olive oil and vinegar. Since Americans would complain if they didn't carry these other salad dressings I think they chose well. No traditional grilled chicken hearts nor hard boiled quail eggs at Texas de Brazil, but does anyone really care? Instead, Texas de Brazil did offer delicious grilled shrimp and cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped jalapeños (never seen in Brazil), along with all the expected cuts of beef (picanha, sirloin, filet mignon wrapped in bacon, and more), chicken grilled and covered with Parmesan, pork, and lamb. Other than those few differences everything was authentic and "well done" ... unless, of course, it's a meat cooked rare, medium rare or medium. I did notice the grilled meats were not overly salty as they were at the competition down the road. I took my wife for an anniversary meal at the "other place" a couple of years ago, and the meat was so salty she couldn't enjoy it. I think she'd like it at Texas de Brazil. The "gauchos" did a great job serving us, and ensured we received the cuts we most desired. No, I didn't find anyone with whom to practice my Portuguese. The very sharp looking manager came by to ask if we were happy with everything. She seemed to be doing a great job. The restrooms were very clean. The prices are high for a meal, a bit more than their competition. Plan on $50 per person plus whatever drinks and tip. Not a budget dinner, but a nice option for special occasions when you want something classier than Taqueria Los Cholos. ;-) However the service and food was higher quality in my opinion. I am glad I had a gift card!

Dessert and drinks are very good

We go maybe once a month and it's always nice to eat and enjoy different cuts of meat The desserts and drinks are also very good

A carnivores wonderland! It's a never ending parade of fine cuts of meats. If your table has a preference of how done you want your meat, please ask your gaucho to bring it to your table that way so you and your table can enjoy the experience. Visit the salad bar. Remember the bar is more than just for your salad. Get a plate and get sides to enjoy with your steaks!

The greeters were average, it felt like talking to a robot. Our waiter Johnathon was on point greeted us and took care of us. There were two managers walking around and checking in on everyone, they did make us feel welcomed. We greatly appreciate that! The food! Oh God the food! Let's just say it's was like a Biiiiig "O" in my mouth! I was served picanha, garlic sirloin, and lamb. My Husband had the same but also had the spicy sirloin, Brazilian sausage and Parmesan pork ( only thing that came out dry ). The sides they served us was mashed potatoes, jalapeño cheddar bread, and a cooked banana ( forgive me I forgot what it was called). The ambiance here is amazing! Very fun very lively, makes for a great date night! Oh and you don't have to be super dolled up, but you can if you want . Shout out to the Chef and his servers! To our waiter and the bartender y'all did great, (you gotta try their passion fruit drink) (it's a creeper so ) ! Thank you guys for an awesome experience! I hope to be back soon!

Delicious chocolate cake, 3 layers of decadence. If you love chocolate cake. This is the one for you.

Best place to eat if you want to go all out. As soon as you are seated they serve you complimentary Brazilian bread, garlic matched potatoes and caramelized bananas. The salad bar is ok for the price I have to admit. To be honest you don't go there for salad. The shaved meats are on point. The lamb chops, leg of lamb and jalapeños poppers are my favorite. The meats are cooked to your liking. And the best part is complimentary deserts on your birthday or wedding anniversary.

    Beautiful red Picanha cut.

Wow...just wow. As I'm typing this, my belt is unbuckled and my gut is in joy. I dont know how much longer the other Brazilian joint is gonna stay in business, but this place is great. Just the salad bar alone is worthwhile. There was a big bowl of bacon, whole roasted garlic!!!! I made myself some tomato, mozzo, and proccuitto rolls. The pineapple slices and sweet cinnamon bananas!!! Service and the cuts of meat were all wonderful!!! Very impressed.

Never been to a Logan's before, so decided to give it a try!…read more It wasn't the worst food or experience, but there were a few things that could have been improved upon. Firstly, shoutout to our server Frank! He was hustling hard to take care of us and his other tables, and did a wonderful job. The issues began with the food. Small things, but a tad bothersome. Can't really go wrong with the rolls, and they kept those hot and coming as needed them, so no issue there. The grilled chicken Cesar salad was fine in flavor, but the chicken breast was quite sad. The portion of the chicken was smaller than just the Palm of my hand (and I don't have very big hands). However, the lettuce was crisp & it was dressed well enough. The teriyaki chicken had the same portion problem as the chicken. It was dressed with a pineapple ring, which was nearly the size of the minuscule chicken breast it was served with. A family member had the fried fish, and the fish was overcooked and tough in the middle. The biggest issue was that my younger sister had to wait nearly 10 minutes to get her food after the rest of us had received ours. The child at the table being the last to be served their food was a big problem for us. The only reason it's not a 2 star is because of the service provided to us by Frank out sever, and the friendly hostesses, which were each 5 We'll be trying a Logan's chain again at some point & hopefully having a better food experience.

Review of Main Street Steakhouse -- 920 N Main St Suite 100, McAllen, TX 78501…read more Walking into Main Street Steakhouse, my hopes were set pretty high. The atmosphere was upscale, cozy, and inviting--exactly what you'd expect from a high-end steakhouse. I started with a dirty martini, which was actually quite good, though I was surprised they didn't have Kettle One or Chopin vodka available, and they didn't offer blue cheese olives. Not a deal breaker, but a bit unexpected given the overall ambiance. For an appetizer, I ordered the tuna tartare. Unfortunately, it had a noticeably fishy taste, to the point that I stopped eating after just a couple of bites. Hoping the main course would redeem things, I went with the surf and turf. Visually, the plate looked decent, but that's where the positives ended. The steak was tough and rubbery--difficult to even cut, let alone chew--and the lobster tail was overcooked and dry. Both were inedible after a single bite. The manager did come over and apologize, offering us a complimentary crème brûlée to make up for it. Sadly, that too was a letdown: undercooked, runny, and lacking the crisp top you'd expect from a proper crème brûlée. When the manager returned, he admitted he had tried to cut into my steak himself and couldn't get through it either--so it wasn't just me. At that point, I was ready to chalk it up to an off night and consider giving them another shot sometime. But then the bill came--it ended up being a little over $180 including a decent tip--and to my surprise, the inedible main course hadn't been comped. That was the final disappointment. If the manager himself couldn't cut the steak and acknowledged the issue, how do you not remove it from the bill? I genuinely wanted to like this place. The setting is promising, but they clearly need a more consistent kitchen and a management team that understands how to make things right when they go wrong. For now, I can't recommend it--and I won't be back unless some serious changes are made. Rating: 1/5

This time, it was the first option that was recommended, which certainly got my attention. When I walked in, it was obvious that there is a renewal happening here - the restautant itself is getting quite a nice makeover, but while I love a nice ambiance, you can't eat the atmosphere. That said, I love the fact that even though there is lots of great energy in such a lovely space, I could still hear the people across the table. The true test of course is the food. I'd rather have a great meal in a dive bar than so-so food in an elegant room. The good news is that I did not have to choose. I don't know what the food was like before, but clearly what is happening on the plate has been elevated well above "okay, but nothing special". As usual when I travel, I dined with a group. While I very much enjoy the company of others, I also like being able to try taste more dishes, especially when I go somewhere for the first time. That allowed me to swoon over the hamachi crudo, crab cake (a favorite in general), lobster tail (very creative), the bacon mac & cheese, the king salmon, and the carrot cake (another favoriote). I don't love red meat, but my friends were just as effusive about the steaks. There's a real vibe to this place - a pride in the food, the place, and the experience. Go (or go back)!

I was upset but took it home and ate it disappointed because I didn't want to wait even longer. Learned my lesson and came later than the expected pickup time, parked, when I texted it said it wasn't ready so I waited 10 minutes before proceeding to the window. It took forever for anyone to come to the window, and even more time the 2nd time when I realized there was stuff missing from the bag. It wasn't until 20 minutes later that I got a text saying my food was ready and they were bringing it to my car. In total I was there 25+ minutes, every curbside spot was taken and I never saw a single employee take food to the cars.
