We love the bread. My dad's sirloin steak was well cooked and nicely seasoned. However, I was disappointed by my ribeye. I think it must have been cut wrong because I stead of getting a marbled cut, I had some sections of pure fat and some of pure meat. It was not very tasty since I like my steak medium well and pure fat at that temperature is kind of gross. I will not be ordering that steak again in the future. This was one of my favorite lunch places until today. My family and I went and the only food that turned out good was my one son's parmesean crusted chicken. I ordered chopped steak medium rare it was completely raw. My daughter ordered just the Buffalo wings and they were super dry. My other son ordered the steak sandwich and it was super tough over cooked and full of gristle. I had to ask for silverware twice before we could even eat. I eat here three of four times a month. I have noticed the service has declined. It upsets me when I walk in and see 6 employees huddled around the hostess station. It doesn't take that many to seat you! Once seated the service is so so at best. The food is always good but the wait staff is not very well trained. No, one asked if I needed anything, how my steak was prepared or can I refill your drinks. I hate to ask for everything. It's ok. I like the decor. I liked most of my meal, except ironically, the steak. I am getting ahead of myself. My meal came with a salad. I ordered low or non fat ranch on it. I had the chicken, shrimp and steak special with rice and veggies. The chicken was great and tasty, I pulled all the bacon off the shrimp, and the shrimp was also good, the veggies were awesome, the rice was good but a bit oily, my sirloin steak was bloody and I had ordered it medium well. So I sent it back and the guy, not our server but I guess his helper, tried to tell me that medium well means somewhat bloody. Um, the outer corners were bleeding, can't imagine what the middle was like. The helper was rude on a few occasions. He made a jab at me that usually a woman doesnt order that much food. He really shouldnt be working face to face with people being that he doesn't know how to treat customers. Our server was nice and no problems with him. When I got the steak back it was over cooked and hard and tough so I had a bite or two but it was too tough to eat. My husband had the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. But I had looked up the nutritional values and being that is a fatty cut of meat, and also huge, it has a huge amount of fat in it, so I would not recommend it to anyone who cares about their arteries even though the piece I had was delicious. All in all, their food is good except that they cant seem to get their steak cooked the way you order and the sirloin steak is not worth the "value" unless you like your steak so tough you can barely cut through it much less eat it. read more

When i first saw the building going up and saw that name "Longhorn Steakhouse" i got kind of excited. Then I read the informative review left by Catherine V. and thought i would give it a try. when i first walked into the place i loved the decor. it was excatly how i imagined it would be. we get seated and my wife opens the silverware and finds a mac and cheese crusted fork. no biggie she's always finding dirty silverware. i order the 12 oz sirloin (medium of course) and wait patiently to sink my teeth into the "best steak", according to Catherine, i have ever tasted. well i get my food and the steak looks amazing. i cut into it and......well done. now i'm not one to complain and send food back because i believe it will have other ingredients other than what i ordered when it comes back out. about 90% of my steak was well done and the other 10% was medium. the mac and cheese i ordered as a side.....TO DIE FOR! ok so lunch is out of the way and my brother orders dessert. we get the dessert sampler and they put it on the table with extra plates and cold spoons. well again a spoon is half way encrusted with some kind of dessert another patron forgot to lick off. now the service......our waiter was nice and checked on us often, but every other waiter walking by was in a hurry to clear out dishes like they had a shortage in the kitchen or something lol. the other three people at our table loved their meal so maybe it was just my steak. at the end of the day i will try it again, but at this point i'm still favoring Texas Roadhouse. read more

I tried this place a couple days ago through a private invitation before it was open to the public. It is suppose to open Monday at 4 p.m. It is by far the best steak I have ever had. I had a 12 oz sirloin steak that was so tender it nearly melted in my mouth. My boyfriend had a 14 oz new york strip steak that was very tender as well.. They were cooked perfectly. This place has to be the best steakhouse in the valley. It doesn't compare to any other steak place in the Rio Grande valley. Well worth the money. The prices aren't expensive for what you get. It would be like going to any other place such as logans, Texas roadhouse, apple-bees, etc. but the quality and taste is top of the line. They also serve some sea food such as shrimp and fish. You'd think because they're so bold as to call themselves a "steakhouse", they could properly cook a steak. I hadn't gone back in monthhsss because of the fact they overcooked my steak two consecutive times; dry as heck. This last time I ordered it medium because I figured it would have to at least come out medium well. WRONG. When I told the server it didn't even pass for Medium well, she snidely said it was "textbook medium" and that she'd be back with a book to "show me" she never came with that book, that probably would've proved me right, and we'd waited 30 minutes for the food so I wasn't going to wait around another 30 for them to actually get it right. I worked at a restaurant so I know what medium, medium well, and well done looks like, thank you very much Jessica. When a customer's food (that they're paying for) comes out wrong- the least you should do is offer to fix it. I had to douse my steak in sauce because it was fairly dry. Our server also messed up and my starving bf's food got cold since he had to wait for his extra patty to come out. The slow service also made me late to an appointment.
