USE HIS SERVICES!!!! i went to derrick last minute because i had a radiator leak on my 2013 chevy malibu that was beyond bad & leaving puddles everywhere. i took it to a shop that was trying to charge me almost $700 & didn't have any availabilities until next week or whenever they could work on my car. I came across derricks yelp & immediately gave him a call & he assured me he could look at my car and help me figure out what was going on. i got to derricks shop where he works on cars and he greeted me & checked out my car. He showed me what was going on & explained to me that i needed to get a new radiator asap or i would over heat my engine & having an ecotec engine was going to cost me A LOT of money if i allowed to over heat. long story short... DERRICK IS BEYOND AWESOME. i got him my car & he promised to have my car done the next day by 2 or no later then 3pm & he did. HE STUCK BY HIS WORD TO HAVE MY CAR DONE BY WHEN I NEEDED IT! once i arrived he showed me my old alternator, where the leak was happening, what caused it, and how he fixed it. he also changed out my clamps because they were better then the ones i had. NO he didn't charge me an arm & leg like shops do especially when they know you're in the military. he charged me under $200 & i honestly felt like i ripped him off knowing how much he had to do to get to my radiator for my car model. needless to say i tipped him for all his hard work because LORD KNOWS HE DESERVED IT! IF HE QUOTES YOU A PRICE HE'LL HONOR THAT PRICE & i was impressed. he knows what he is doing & is a very outgoing & easy person to talk to. AGAIN... Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality I called earlier this morning to have this particular mechanics to take a look at my car as it would not start. He mentioned as a result of his kid's summer activities that he wouldn't be able to get out to my home until this afternoon. The afternoon came and went and no word from Derrick. I think that its extremely unprofessional for him to be a no call no show especially considering that he gave me his word that he'd be here. Had I known that he wouldn't show, I could've had my car towed to a shop instead of wasting a day with no transportation. I recently relocated to Killeen & was trying to find a good, trustworthy, long term mechanic. I tend to stay away from the big commercial repair places as I haven't had any good experiences with them. So I searched both Craigslist & Yelp, then finally came across Derrick's Mobile Auto Repair which had excellent reviews. Although I was a bit skeptical at first, I'm glad I choose him because his service is A1 & the price was affordable. I dropped my car off on the night of 11/14/17 then received a text at 1100 on 11/16/17 letting me know that he was done with the cv axle replacement & my car was ready for pickup. Throughout the repair Derrick sent me several texts updates which was really nice as well. So trust me when I say all of the reviews you read on here are 100% true & I would strongly recommend him to anyone!!!! Derrick's Mobile Auto Repair was a great find on Yelp.. My radiator let go on my company truck the night before last going home. Yesterday I contacted Derrick 5 minutes after his opening time of 8AM. I explained the situation, I was not far away at all so he said bring it down. I left it with him in under an hour and went to work. Derrick was extremely professional, pricing was more than fair for the services provided and he had my truck ready for pickup on my way home from work with a brand new radiator installed ready to go. Ended up talking to him twice, good guy. Was honest that my repair was more than he wanted to tackle, which I find shows character worth more than anything else. Informed me as to why he didn't feel comfortable with the job, he wouldn't be able to guarantee the work as my car is known to be problematic. Then he recommended a shop he trusts that would do it, even giving me an idea of the cost. Again, character. Now I believe I'd go with Derrick even if he wasn't the cheapest. Good people.
