Three stars only because the work was okay. One star because the process has flaws & issues! Needed siding done on 2 parts. Was given different quotes for part vs all siding vs materials. Discount was given if signed that day. BEWARE! There was no time to shop around for a better rate. Was give a SUPER high interest rate. Was told noone needed to be home since the work was outside (see day "5") and they would clean up. After signing someone else reached out sayin the work would start 2 days earlier than it actually did. They also stated the dumpster would be dropped off. Day "1" - they canceled due to the weather (which was a bit fogging in the morning but turned out to be a nice, clear day). Day "2" - no dumpster, no work & no update. Day "3" - they started the work but no dumpster so guess where the trash went. On the front lawn..... not on tarp or trash bags either. WTH???? Asked the guy, he said he supposedly asked but it was either start the work or wait for the dumpster. Day "4" - Dumpster finally showed but no work was being done AND there was more trash in the pile which was still on the lawn..... Day "5" - found out they stopped work on day "4" because they tripped the power. Wondered why some things weren't working. Had a missed call but no voicemail day before. Man said he called but even if call was answered there was no way for anyone to get home to flip the switch. Which took time to figure out. Wasn't just the breaker but a CGFI (tried every 1 until we figured out which). That day (5) someone was home and they kept tripping it. Imagine trying to work and having to stop every so often because of that.... (what happened to "noone needs to home"???) Apparently they were using so many electric tools, poor house couldn't take it. Day "6" - trash was still adding up on the lawn. (Dumpster had been there for 2 days.....) Day "7" - trash was FINALLY "picked up" (leaving some behind). Work was completed. Fixtures were put back EXCEPT the gutters were trashed without even being asked along with a working fixture they assumed was broke. Was told the dumpster would be picked up the following day. Day "8" - man showed up unannounced to take pictures. Voiced problems, issues, concerns. He said he would submit a work order. 4 days after the work was completed, the dumpster was FINALLY picked up. After work was completed, doing lawn work, nails, wood pieces, and trash found everywhere. (They would clean up???) Would not recommend pets going out until EVERYTHING was picked up (with a strong magnet). To this day, issues still have not been resolved. They are too busy looking for the next customer. Was contacted by the Sales Rep months later because he wanted to start the process......Obviously he didn't make note that it was done. Would not recommend, especially if you have an HOA!! ___________________________________________ Pros - decent work completed in 5 days (would've probably been 4 had they not kept tripping the power). Cons - *BEWARE! Workers will throw your stuff away without asking. *SUPER high interest rate. *Unprofessional as far as trash everywhere. *Lies (or "miscommunications"). *Issues never addressed and never contacted again. read more

I answered the door and it's the home improvement company that ripped me off and made my house gables look like crap. The person at the door wanted to see the work so I showed him. It still looks like crap and I'm still paying $10,000 for it. "Well, I can tell my boss John about how disappointed you are," was his initial comment to me. I told him that disappointed was an understatement and that I would never use or recommend his company to anyone who needs work done on their home. He agreed that it didn't look too good and that he'd put in his comments my complaint. You and I both know that it won't ever get fixed and will not go any further than his "notes"... Lesson learned. Do research, get bids, and be patient. Get it done correctly. The company got their money and that's all that mattered to them. Now, my blood pressure is up and I'm mad all over again. Had Texas Home Improvement come out this past March to do a patio cover and paint the outside of the house and they totally crushed it . The crew showed up on time, worked hard, and didn't leave a mess behind. Rare to find that nowdays. The patio cover looks awsome! Its super sturdy and perfect for chillin outside when it's hot. And the paint still looks brand new, no peelin or weird spots or anything. Just clean and sharp. We've already told some freinds about em and we'd def use em again if we need anything else. Will not use this company again. Roof installed in January. Finally resolved issues beginning of March after I paid additional money for gutter and HVAC issues with separate contractors. These guys got way too much money from me (my bad). Do research. Something I am kicking myself for not doing enough of before hiring them. read more

We contacted several contractors for our job. We removed two windows from a brick wall on the side of our home and installed A 7' sliding glass door. The new installed door has a lifetime warranty and we're thrilled with the quality. The contractor, Jose and his helper were extremely meticulous in making sure everything was perfect. If looking for building a covered patio extension for your home Do NOT DO BUSINESS with Texas Home Improvement. Truly disappointed with this company's lack of communication. Save yourself time and energy by not engaging in business with Texas Home Improvement. My husband saw a promotional ad for DoLooking for business in our area ( south austin/Buda) so we called them right away. They sent over a sales rep which he did a great job at measuring out everything we wanted for our new covered patio, we walked through every detail from how many fans to can lights to the color of the patio cover etc. Once we got all the details squared away he called his boss -(which we were told was the owner of the company ) and negotiated a price with him-at first NOT giving us the promotion advertised then in the end agreed to giving us the promotional sale we had seen on social media. We all agreed so we signed and down payment was given. We then were able to get the loan for the amount agreed upon with the company and ready to start the process. This was May 22nd. A couple days later we had another ( also very nice man to work with) who walked us through again all the specs and details of our new covered patio, measuring everything and making sure all the details were correct for production. He then put the order in for everything we needed and told us they would start building in July. Over a month goes by and we don't hear anything from the company but we knew they weren't starting until the July. Then July 2nd we get a call from the company and they sent over another rep which we thought was coming to start the build... he instead tells us the company made a big mistake and misquoted us by 10,000.00 but because it was there mistake they were "only charge us 2,500.00 more." And wouldn't be able to build if we didn't pay the extra fee because of there mistake. It was infuriating. The total cost of Production was thoroughly discussed with multiple reps/owner included when we signed and agreed to work with the company back in May. To then suddenly realizing over a month later when production was supposed to start, we now have to pay more. We don't agree with this when he tells us, so he said he would talk with his boss again. And then we don't hear anything. So we call the company weeks later and they said they didn't call back because they thought we had canceled. Yet they still had our deposit. That SAME day we get a call from the company saying all our parts were in and they were ready to start the build‍We tell him what's going on and he had no idea. Clearly this company does NOT communicate. If they can't even get the sales part down we can't even imagine with the quality of work would have been. The company then sends over a rep to our house and he said he would talk to his boss one more time. If the company was willing to do the build at the agreed price we would move forward. But they chose to loose our business over a 2500.00 mistake on their part. Shame on them for their lack of communication and follow through. The sales people we worked with were very nice guys, but unfortunately the company itself is one to stay away from. read more

They then come back with a follow-up call describing a different pricing strategy option "that could potentially save thousands" that is still more than double all other bids of similar material quality. I asked for a quote and had three others to compare to. My roof is approx. 1975 Sq. with two small valleys and a 74 ft. ridge and is a 3 on 12 pitch. VERY easy job! My roof is 1975 sq. ft and was given a price of over $34,000 but was told I would be given a "DEAL" with their PAR price of $25,000. This was $14,000 MORE than the closest estimate I already had. I was told if we were paying cash I would have to give them $8300.00 right then. I have a quote that is LESS than their "down payment"! read more

First of all, Texas Home Improvements led me to believe that we were getting LeafGuard gutters put on our home. We already had them in the back. When they installed our gutters they had a mesh screen over them. They were NOT LeafGuard gutters. They said they were "sorry" but the gutters they put on had leaf guards. Not the same as the brand. The gutters also did not match the downspouts. They said they would correct that but conveniently we have not heard from them. One of the contractors told me he would take off our shutters and paint them. That was never done. They also left a lot of nails and trash in our yard. They left putty all over our hose and water spigots. I would never use Texas Home Improvements again. The "3 day" job to re-side and paint our house turned into over 7 days and it's still not complete. read more

BUT. they removed our gutters and replaced the screens with poor quality ones, covered up a roof vent.and the ripped the metal drip gaurd and ripped my shingles, roofers came out and siliconed the damage ( wasnt how they found it) charged me another 2000 dollars to replace it. And the project managers, all i can say is they lie. Alot. They told me they would fix my gutters only if i changed my review. I have never experienced such shoddy business practices. TLDR: Extremely overpriced and very pushy. Quoted $23,116 to replace a 1655-sqft roof. I received bids from five other well-reviewed and/or highly recommended companies, and the highest of those was $6,000. Full version: Reps from this company were walking around my neighborhood one day, signing people up for estimates. I needed a new roof, so I went ahead and signed up for a roof estimate. The girl who signed me up, Lexi, was very nice. Day of the estimate: Reid Johnson and Peter show up to look at the roof. They crawled up in the attic to check for water damage to the plywood, and walked around on the roof to see the extent of the damage. They were very thorough and informative, and started out very nice (quite enjoyable company, in fact). Then they gave me the $23,116 estimate. I had no idea what a roof should cost, so I told them I wanted to do my research before I chose a company. Then they gave the "If you sign up with us today, you'll get a discount!" pitch, and at first they wouldn't tell me what the discount would be unless I signed with them, but they finally broke down and said it was a 15% discount. I still told them I wasn't going to decide on the spot without asking around, so they said they could wait outside while I made some calls. Well, I made some calls, and sure enough, their price didn't seem reasonable. I called them back in and said I wasn't going to take their "sign with us today" deal. And that's when they got pushy. I would not recommend letting anyone from this company in your house because it's hard to make them leave. They don't leave when you say no the first time. I had to tell them no very firmly several times before they left. And I had to watch them make sad faces like they were watching a puppy die, which is disgustingly manipulative and exceptionally unprofessional. Then the company called me repeatedly over the next couple weeks. It doesn't matter that you're selling a good product if your competitors are selling the same product for a quarter the price and with better service. read more

He not only rang the bell and stirred up my dogs, he acknowledged there was a No Soliciting sign. He said he just wanted to give me a quote for home repair. They replaced our dated/damaged siding w/ hardie board and applied their COOLWALL coating and it looks sensational! Work was done in a timely manner and craftsmanship was excellent so I referred my friends, neighbors and family. My neighbor and close friend decided to get his exterior done with them and they gave me a $250 gift card! YOU CAN GET THE SAME QUALITY OF WORK FOR WAY, WAY LESS. AND YOU DON'T GET DECEIT AND ACCUSED OF TRYING TO AVOID SIGNING OFF AT THE END OF ONE BUSINESS DAY LATER. The crew and quality of installation is not in dispute. Both were excellent and the staff presented professionally and courteously. The rating is due to the semantics used by the salesman, Ryan, with regards to "employees" and telling me that the type of roofing use would qualify for an insurance discount. In addition to the roof replacement discount. I had been told that the crew are employees and paid year round, as a selling point that they don't use contractors like other companies do. In fact, the crews are 1099's so they are contractors. When called out, there was fumbling and an attempt to split hairs over only using contractors that have manufacturer provided installation training. Their contractors work other jobs outside of THI. Finally, the General Manager, JR, accused me of dodging them when it was time to do the walk around and sign off. In his message, he said "it was obvious someone was there and not coming to the door." I park in the garage and keep the blinds shut. There's no way to tell if I'm home. The job was finished on a Friday afternoon. We were going to do it on Monday, there was no set time on Saturday to meet and I finally left. I worked until 7:30 on Monday. It was all settled on Tuesday a.m. So a weekend and a Monday (with a msg left at 7:30p asking if it was still possible to meet), resulted in the accusation and making a fool of himself by making an allegation I was hiding from them. Recommendation - no matter how ill you're feeling, don't crater to the high pressure sales tactics. They're expensive and you can get the same thing at a better price. Make sure you check with your insurance company about the specs for the impact-resistance. I saw quite a few other complaints citing this same thing. Watch out!! This company is from California where a contractor's license is necessary for roofing, their Contractor License was revoked by California that is exactly why they moved to Texas. Previously in Santa Clara California known as (The Home Improvement source) with many Furious homeowners that have been ripped off.. this company would hire subcontractors to do the roof and then not pay the subcontractor so the roofers had to put a lien against the homeowners to get paid, even though the homeowners already paid the for the entire Roofing job. After scanning the Bay Area they split to Texas. Same door to door slimy sales tactics. Will offer you a great value take your money and then not take your calls. Bob Cordoza with other aliases is The Mastermind to the scam. Super smooth happy-go-lucky guy will rob you blind. Be very wary of working with this shady business. Their strategy is to send door-to-door salesman to book an appointment for a quote at your home for any number of the home improvement services they offer. Then a sales team will arrive at that time and do measurements for the quote. During this time they will be very friendly. After completing their measurements, they will ask to come inside and explain the unique quality of their work/materials and integrity of their company. This is all scripted. At this point, if you are married, they will insist that both individuals be there to receive the actual quote. Both members of the couple being there is key as they want to take away any "discussing with your spouse" and delay of signing off the table. The quote will be much higher than what any other reasonable contractor will quote, but they've buttered you up with their scripted sales pitch and explanation of the unique quality of their work/materials. To ensure financing isn't an issue for you, they will offer to set up financing for you... but it will be at an astronomically high interest rate, much higher than any home improvement loan from a reputable lender. Even if you explain your ability to get better interest rates elsewhere, they'll say to sign now with their financing as a "gap loan" before you go to your reputable and trusted lender, which is ridiculous if you care about your credit. This is all in service of getting you to sign immediately for thousands of dollars in high interest financing right then and there. And their script calls for an additional high-pressure sales tactic: they will say that the quote is only good if you sign right then and there and that the price will increase 15% if you want think about it for a bit (you know... to do your due diligence, get other quotes, make a good decision about your home and finances). If you resist all of this and insist on considering the deal longer, the sales team will get aggressive, pushy and whiny. As others have written, you may even feel unsafe in your own home. An honest business doesn't utilize predatory, high-pressure sales tactics to push same day signings for thousands of dollars of work and high interest loans. An honest business lets their work and reputation speak for themselves. There are many reputable home improvement businesses in the area who will give you honest quotes and time to consider. Do yourself a favor and find one who earns and deserves your business. read more

After waiting a month to hear back from this company regarding a roof estimate I've given up and decided to give a bad review. Ryan Feld and John Estrada were given permission to take pictures of our roof damage. After completing inspection they told my husband they would need to sit down with both of us for estimate. My husband explained I was not available so they left their cards and said we needed to call when we're both available. I thought my husband misunderstood them so I called Ryan and explained my husband takes care of these issues since I care for my disabled parents. He stated he would send my husband the estimate and asked for our email. After a week still no estimate so I called Ryan and he apologized saying he was getting married and not working so I should call John. John said he would email it. After a second call to John he finally stated he couldn't send an estimate because their company policy was to sit down with both of us. I told him I was confused why a company insisted I be present. He rudely said "Take it up with the company". He hung up when I asked why they led us to believe they were sending the estimate. I called the manager at their toll free number leaving a message to call us. No calls returned. Our insurance agent said that if a company is not willing to give an estimate while speaking with at least one of us then more than likely we shouldn't do business with them. We've received 3 other estimates from great roofers who wanted the business. read more

Extremely pleased with the work! Like the comments below, I also was off put by the process and their pricing at first, but end the end it was well worth it. I've owned my home for 20 years+ and I've had to do 3 roof replacements in that time. 2 of those replacements were due to normal wear and tear, but this 3rd one was simply due to poor workmanship from a local, rather well known company! My roof leaked after only 6 years so when Texas Home Improvement offered a free inspection and quote I was all in! I decided to buy from them that day because I am not made of money! After the run around I got from using the cheap guys, I decided that the extra cost was worth having a company with actual warranties, instead of the local handyman! Minor hiccups during the project, little things like cleaning up the junk and a broken plant pot. Also pretty sure only the crew leader spoke English, but I've received my warranty card and the reps Gavin and Peter assured me that their training classes come in Spanish as well. It says select your rating, One star is too much. They installed hardy board all around my house and then painted it with coolwall systems kynar. They are professionals at talking and talking and talking about the product. I told them no but then they kept on talking. Told them we had an appointment and still didn't leave and kept on talking about the product. They were here over three hours. After I signed, it got worse. I had to have a friend watch everything they did to keep them from cutting corners on installing my hardy board. Finally they were ready to paint. They brought two, five gallons containers of one color and six or seven gallon containers of one color. When they left, I still have paint in both five gallon containers and four, one gallon containers of paint. That was paint I paid for in the contract. You have to watch the painters, they missed places. I was unable to do the walk around to check for flaws on the day they wanted me to. Becca kept hounding me and hounding me to sign the papers to show the work was done. I said no because I had not walked the project. She didn't care. She wanted those papers signed right then and there. I didn't want to. Oh, she promised to come another day to do the walk around but she kept talking and talking and telling me I had to sign the papers because the job was finished, had to sign the papers so the warranty could go into effect. Had to sign the papers so she and the others would make their money. She came back for the walk around but I had let her talk me into signing the contract, so when she returned, I did the walk around and she took pictures of my complaints, but I had already been had. Texas Home Improvement was not going to fix anything--shoddy workman ship and some inferior products. $35,000 and they still cut corners on the last of the trim. I have a warranty but I'm sure it doesn't cover the shoddy job. BEWARE!!! read more
