Absolutely awful. Could not have been worse, and I hate hyperbole. Roy is wholeheartedly and intentionally dishonest and will say anything to get your money. One major selling point was his touting how all of our belongings were insured and would be taken care of, regardless of mishaps. We wanted everything moved in one day so we did not have to take extra time off work. Thousands of dollars worth of damage ON TOP of literal FRAUD: we were quoted $2,880 for a COMPLETE move from Ft. Worth to College Station. We were not shopping for a discount; we wanted the best company for the job. After less than half our belongings were moved, Roy (owner) quoted us $1,400 to move the rest. That's illegal. Roy offered to send his largest 48' trailer AND a 26' truck with 5 movers in order to get our move completed in one day. They were set to begin between 7-8am. 4 guys showed up reeking of weed well after 12pm with one medium sized trailer. I don't care what you do with your own time, but when you're stoned and break my belongings, it becomes my problem. One of the first things they did was shatter my Mac Display, which they don't make anymore, because THEY PICKED UP A DESK WITHOUT MOVING THE SCREEN. After about 4.5hrs of these unprofessional movers mis-prioritizing our belongings, they told us the trailer was full. Roy called after 5pm to explain the situation. He expected us to go rent a 26' truck and have his guys finish loading what should've already been taken care of if he delivered what he promised! This was before he told us it would be another $1,400 if we wanted him to finish the job he was hired to do. We told them to move what they had loaded. We did not have one single complete room for us to setup in our new house. Not only were they amateurs, but they were careless, lazy, colorblind and illiterate (see below). We packed up 90% of our belongings and color coded the boxes as well as added labels for every room in which we expected them to be moved. The movers not only asked where every. single. box. went, because they refused to look at the colors/read the label, but they started LITERALLY throwing our stuff into our new house and "stacking" boxes and furniture sideways. Pieces that were not broken on the journey were destroyed as they brought it into our house. List of items damaged/destroyed: 27-inch Apple Thunderbolt Monitor, Ashley Furniture Bookcase & two Ashley Dressers (they broke a leg off a $1,500 dresser), three brand new clothing racks, and several other smaller items that we're discovering as we unpack. We're also missing items from the move (they stopped somewhere for over an hour along the way) on top of having things taken from the old house when these guys were the only ones who knew how to get in. We're currently working with a lawyer to deal with Roy and Texas Movers Direct because he was unwilling to cooperate and make things right when given the chance. We're filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Texas DMV at the moment. More to follow.

Before making the second payment, I made the lead person, Joel, aware of several pieces of solid, high-quality wood furniture that were damaged or blemished during the move. Joel took photos of a few of the items and called the owner, and we were told the owner, Jennifer Eckles, would get with us the next day to discuss an insurance claim. Joel was apologetic and genuinely concerned and told us we had 90 days to make a claim with TxDOT. We never received that call from Jennifer. Four weeks later on November 7, I sent an email to Jennifer expressing my frustration and disappointment in the lack of concern and follow-up to resolve the situation. I specifically asked her to advise how/where to file an insurance claim in order to make something about this right. After sending the email, I also sent her a text advising that I had sent an email and asked her to take a look and get back to me. She responded to the text and said she would get back to me that evening. A week later, I still had not heard from her to discuss a reasonable resolution. I scheduled a reputable furniture repair person to do an assessment and make repairs to the most damaged pieces (i.e. dining room table with a swipe of surface scratches 12 to 18 inches wide across the length of the table; bedroom dresser with pressure divots across the dresser's top; deep gouges to a 50-year old chest; blemishes and chunks of wood missing from chair legs). Repairs were made on-site in my home for $200. I filed a complaint with the BBB a month after the move after having never received a call from ABC. ABC never responded to the BBB either. As a courtesy, I reached out to ABC on 12/3/21 by text. The owner did call that afternoon and agreed to Paypal $200 for the repairs. Payment has never been received and the owner never responded to a request for a status update. Small businesses work hard to earn every penny they make so filing a complaint and writing a harsh review is not something I wanted to do. Even though ABC's moving crew was polite and worked hard to move my household, I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism demonstrated by this company and do not want others to endure the same experience. It's reasonable to understand that stuff happens and possessions can get damaged during a move, but when almost every piece of furniture is damaged in one way or another, then corrective actions must be taken. I've given this company every opportunity to step up to the plate to make things right and they have chosen not to do so. Don't trust your possessions to this company . . . move on down the road with a much more professional and reputable company. The ABC of "moving" is to NOT do business with ABC Moving in Whitehouse, TX.

The owner Roy does not have a staff. "If" he gets a job, he scrambles to find anyone out of work that can pick up and carry boxes. He talks like he's a mover but pretty much he's a jack of all trades and hopes to move people, build fences, sell at trade shows and from his building in whitehouse, tx. I assure you it's best to steer clear of this guy. He doesn't care about you and will screw you in the end, like he did my elderly neighbor. Don't give him a single dollar. you'll regret it.

Whatever you do, don't hire this company for anything. They are all theives and the owner will try…read moreto turn everything around and make you look like the guilty one. I have never had a business owner talk to me like that in my life. I hired this company to move me and was quoted $425 from Roy Burkett (the owner)to move me from a 2br apt. to another 2br apt. He never mentioned anything about an hourly charge. We actually had a long conversation because I went to school with his brother. I also told him that I had things that went to storage and things that I wanted to sell. He said to let him look at them before selling them because he own's the Resale Store in Whitehouse, TX. I was under the impression that he would be moving me. The movers showed up and showed me a bill for $450 before even starting stating they require 4hrs time to move plus $70 for gas. Roy wasn't there either. They said they didn't work for Roy, that they subcontracted under him and worked for $95hr. BS! There were only 2 movers, 2 dollies and that was it. They started moving me and I GAVE them numerous furniture items because I didn't have room in my storage bldg or new apartment. Very nice furniture at that. I told them to remember it on my bill as in barter trade. Brandon and Eric were the movers. BWARE!! They are professional liars and theives. After working 6hrs they stopped and said your bill is $640 right now and I gave it to them and told them what Roy quoted me again and I couldn't affore an $800-$1000 bill. I told them what I was quoted and the fact that I gave them a lot of furniture should be taken in consideration. They went outside and came back in and said they talked to Roy and he said stop charging me at 6hrs. Said they would finish moving me out of the goodness of their heart. BS! They moved most of the furniture and several boxes and quit due to it being so late. These guys didn't even have the rolling dollies meant for furniture. They moved my dresser with 2 dollies and scratched it to hell and back. Same for my buffet. They left and said they'd be back after a move they had scheduled for the next day (Saturday). I told them the 2 tv's had to be here for the cable man and they did go pick them up and bring them over Saturday morning. They didn't get the cable boxes though so I had to run over and get them. There was so many things left that they didn't move. I was getting nervous. They didn't move my 2 heavy plants in which I told them 3-4 times not to forget and they didn't move any of my pictures. Some were very heavy! Also left several boxes, cloth bags full of grocery items, bathroom items, etc., etc. They said they would be back Saturday evening and of course they couldnt come. Same for Sunday, and same for Monday. I had to hire another person to help me finish the move. I made at least 9-10 trips myself with the boxes and other items left that I could put in my jeep. Also, they stole a gold necklace that my late boyfriend gave me. It's my fault since I didn't move it but it was hanging in bathroom when they were there and magically disappeared. It was a very sentimental piece of jewlery. They also stole my slats to a bed they didn't put together and sadly, a huge package of toilet paper. It's pretty bad when you have to steal toilet paper. I called Roy, the owner today and he acted like I was lying and just made up the story to start something. Also said that they guys said that I didn't give them any furniture at all and I was f------ lying. He all but called me a damn liar and I told him to kma. I will take this to small claims court since reading these other reviews. I wish I had read them before but figured since I knew his brother, he would be just as trustworthy. NOT! This man shouldn't be allowed to treat people like this and he's a sorry assed looser like his employees.
