My first review with pictures was a 5 star rating. Now...the place has gone way downhill unfortunately. Seats beside me didn't have cup holders or arm rests. When I bought tickets online it didn't show where tables were and my wife and I had to site separately. The popcorn is SO SO Salty I couldn't even eat it, and I like salt on my food. It was bad. Bathrooms were very nasty, not clean at all. I would NOT recommend, go to the AMC up the street. read more

NO A/C and NO REFUND per Owner!!! 8/2/25 @ 9:30PM Theater 8 Tried to watch "The Naked Gun" at this time and there was no air on at all. Management was knowing selling tickets in theater 8 with no air. Said they could only open the hall doors that let light in the theater. Totally unacceptable and not good watching the movie in total heat and no air. Tall dark manager(nice) did nothing at all and staff also knew of this. Should NOT sell tickets with no air, this is hazardous in Texas heat! I will not recommend this theater. CAN NOT believe the Bistro company would condone these actions by employees and management. No refund was offered, no change in movie or anything. The young 19 year old manager also said a Mr O'Neil, alleged owner does indeed know about this issue and will not shut theater 8 down nor offer any refunds with a theater with no air once you purchase tickets. Left 15 minutes before the movie. Place is dirty, but gave it a chance.....nope. Went inside the theater and we were the only ones in there. ALL and I mean ALL the seats had huge stains and what looked like mold on them. Turned on my flashlight to look around the other seats and I wanted to put and couldn't sit back down. This place needs to be burned to the ground it's a disaster. The workers at the concession shared two brain cells combined and couldn't even work the ordering machine in front of them. I came in today to watch Inside Out 2, the 12:30 showing with a friend and my daughter. We ordered three beef sliders meals. It was brought to us not as we had ordered and cold, the fries were not fresh and cold. We paid $21.00 each with a drink and struggled to eat the food. Also, the seats were broken, and my friend almost rocked us backward. They need to be fixed. It smelled of urine where we sat. We've been to this theater several times; not because we love it, but because it's usually not too busy. I wouldn't say it's the cleanest either. However, that's not the complaint for this review. Apparently to the management, it doesn't matter if you purchase your tickets ahead of time and pick your seats because they will let anyone that purchases tickets at the counter sit in your already assigned seat. They wjll not ask the person (or people) to move. The manager said she couldn't do anything about it, but I would argue that's management's job. Paid money to bring my kids to see a movie. A employee who was working had her grandchild at work with her. Her granddaughter kept walking in during the movie and just standing in the entry way with her iPad & volume on high. Then she wrote a note to my child asking if she wants to be friends and brought it to her during the movie. After that she came back to ask if she could play with her. The girl was sitting in the entry way watching her iPad and doing crafts and being loud. She was running through the aisles in the theater. All that said... I can't believe I paid money to see a movie with my kids and our movie was ruined due to the fact that this little girl was left unattended by her nana while she was working. Not sure why this child's nana hasn't come to get her?!?! Not once has she come looking for her and it's been over an hour. I'm not sure she even knows what theater she is in. We will never return to Texas Movie Bistro because of this experience. Maybe you should consider a daycare. read more

I have to say, I've been dreading this. I don't like to give a bad review. I try to be as positive as possible and be accommodating for things like simple human mistakes and the occasional error that any of us could make. If you've read reviews I've written in the past, I tend to lean towards praise rather than derision. It's just my way. But sometimes you have an experience that stands out. We all get a cold burger from time to time or a drive-thru attendant forgets your fries, these things happen and it's better to be understanding than blow up. Tonight though, tonight was not something I'm willing to sit by and just keep to myself. Tonight I went to a place that I feel I should warn others about. Tonight, I went to Texas Movie Bistro in Lake Worth, Texas. This place is a train wreck. This place needs to be under new management or a new owner or just torn down and salt the earth beneath so nothing else can cause anyone any more discomfort. My girlfriend hadn't had a chance to see Avengers 2 yet, and I told her I'd take her on our next date night. Sadly, the traffic between her house and mine was awful so she arrived too late to make it to the shows at the theater I usually attend. So we looked at times and the next showing within driving distance was this place. They offered food as well (like the Movie Tavern) so we decided that since time was short, this might be our best option. We were wrong. We arrived 20 minutes or so prior to the film starting. Expecting we could order, get some food and drinks and relax through the film. We bought our movie tickets, ordered our food and grabbed a beer and a frozen margarita for my lady love. Then off to the theater to wait. And wait. And wait some more. After half an hour passed, I went to see if our food was lost in the fracas of the 12 people who'd shown up to see the movie alongside us. The young man offered to see what the problem was and I went back to the film, by now having missed 7 minutes of the movie and needing a second round since we'd already finished our drinks. 15 more minutes pass. Now this place doesn't offer fine dining meals grilled to perfection and assembled in a way that would look good in a magazine. They offer what you expect; burgers and fries and sandwiches. Things fried in grease for 10 minutes and served on a tray. With 45 minutes now passed, the movie well underway and my having to miss several minutes of it to receive our order I went back to demand a refund. The staff assured me that it was an error with their ticket machine and that if we wanted to wait we would have it any minute. We were still hungry since neither of us had eaten for hours so I relented and agreed to wait. And it still took another 8 or 10 minutes, well over an hour since we first put down our orders. I don't blame the people taking the order completely. And they were friendly as could be when faced with someone my size who was clearly angry. I have a long fuse but was nearing the end of it. I don't like missing part of the opening of Avengers, I didn't like being made to wait an hour for some chicken strips and a sandwich, and it's not like any of this was cheap. $14 for tickets, fine, but the meal cost us $30 for what was basically food McDonald's could serve within minutes for $10. In addition to this unacceptable wait, the theater was insanely warm. Hot even. I found myself wiping sweat from my brow half way through the movie. It had to be 80 degrees inside at least. And it has been nice and rainy outside, not our typical Texas heat. The screen also seemed to be very dark. It may have been my imagination, but when I saw the movie on opening weekend at the Rave the image on screen seemed much sharper and much less dark. The seats were also pretty uncomfortable as well, but now I feel like I'm nitpicking. I went in not expecting much. A greasy meal and a movie. Ticket prices were cheaper than I usually pay at the Rave, but it's also much less nice than the Rave so I'll call that a wash rather than a point in their favor. I will not be returning to the Movie Bistro, and I would actively encourage others to avoid it as well. I don't blame the staff who helped us, I blame management for not keeping on top of things. When the problem with the ticket not reaching the kitchen came up, you could tell on the poor young man's face that this wasn't an uncommon occurrence. And the stuffy temperature was clearly to keep costs down on the Air Conditioning. This is not a place that wants to court an audience of movie-goers, this is a place hoping you don't want to drive all the way to a good theater. AVOID if at all possible. read more

I'm not sure we will ever go back to AMC in Lake Worth. The Bistro is a superior experience. It's not new and it's not fancy but it's decent, cheap, and the staff is way more helpful than AMC. read more

I have no idea what has happened to this movie theater. This place used to be my favorite place to see movies and now it looks like a hot mess. You go inside and you can smell the mold from somewhere. The place needs a much needed update and on top of everything the people who go there are so rude. I went yesterday to see a movie and the guy behind me and wouldn't stop snoring and falling asleep. Like he just kept snoring and people kept telling him to wake up and stop snoring. Tonight 3 teenagers, 16+ years of age, thought it would be funny to throw candy from the back row at people in 10 rows in front of them. This theater makes your food to order and gives it to you while your in the theater! The service is great and it is well run! Don't waste your money! We thought the name sounded cool and we're shocked at the opposite. This place was run down and trashy. You have to order your food up front and they bring it to you. Got order wrong and no way to fix it unless I want to miss the movie. Got to our seats where there was food all across the seats and all over the tables between them. Clearly they did NOT clean after last movie. One of the seat cushion was missing a part of padding. We went to front and told them we moved down. Said they wouldn't sell the seats. Then a family came with those seat tickets. My wife had to ask for a manager to get printed tickets so we wouldn't have to move again. The food was bad. My pina colada was not really all that good honestly and I definitely could taste the alcohol, but I generally don't drink at the theatre anyway. The staff are nice and friendly. While not as good as the Movie Tavern chain, I was surprised at how much I actually liked Texas Movie Bistro. You don't have the same ordering style that you get at the 7th street Movie Tavern instead you order at the front counter (just like every other theater) and they give you a number to put on the table next to you once you sit and they bring the food to you. The seating is stadium style which is a nice step up from some theaters but that's about it when it comes to "being special." The food is decent if not somewhat overpriced and they do serve beer (another plus) but at the end of the day I just felt like it was nothing that the Movie Tavern has made me love. The employees didn't seem to care if you were there or not and it was rather dirty. The verdict: Stick with your other favorite theater, there's nothing special here. While they do have a wider variety of food, not just the same ole nachos and hot dogs that most chains do, it's nothing to write home about. Not to say it's the worst place I've ever been bar any means. I'd take Texas Movie Bistro over AMC theaters any day of the week but as I said, don't expect THAT much of an upgrade. read more

The only good thing I can say about about this place is the movie was good and at an inexpensive rate. I took my son on Father's Day to see a movie and have some lunch. You would think they would be well stocked with everything for a weekend like this but the snack bar ran out of Pepsi and Dr Pepper. They were pouring out of 2 liters - very strange. Pizza my son ordered tasted very much like a frozen pizza that was microwaved warm. Reminded us of pizza you get at a school. Bathrooms were hard to find and our cashier seemed like she was frustrated beyond belief. "everything breaks around here"... Is what we heard. I don't know why I came back after the bad experiences I had, really Only because the showings were just a little more convenient and it's close to my house but next time I will go to Starplex that's down the street. First bad experience I met up with a few friends for a girls night out , watched Girls Trip couldn't enjoy it because it seemed the speakers were out and the sound was super fuzzy, but we had all met up and we didn't want to cancel because we were already there . Second bad experience I went with my daughter to watch Adrift , an early showing, and the seats were damp and gross but I had arranged for a baby sitter for little one and it was the only time we had so again we stayed and moved to a couple different other seats and they were all damp .
