Had Texas Pool and Patio do a $155,000 remodel on existing pool. Live in Central Texas which was no problem on sales or picking up checks, but was a severe problem getting the work properly overseen and completed. Main problems- Omitted trim tile from design, caught on plaster day. Offered to hold plaster, do tile and then get back on plaster schedule- on June 1st, month #6 on 2 month job. Opted to finish pool without trim tile, a mistake. Plaster company had pump truck breakdown. Plaster varies in color and texture. Looks like rattle can car paint job. Ordered $14,000 new heads for pool cleaner and half the other heads in bright white. Severe contrast with existing grey heads which match plaster. Brought to company's attention. Office said our fault. John Flores looked and said "we will see what we can do". That was 14 months ago, never heard from him again. Their promise to follow up and help maintain the pool was a just a sales pitch. Once they get the last check they are gone. read more

Texas Pools and Patio updated our pool with new plaster, additional textured concrete around the pool, repaired our previous drainage issues, and found and repaired a leak that had been an ongoing problem that no one else could solve. Great pre sales but downhill from there . Two years later and still no final punch list completed. Now we are finding cheaper and or smaller equipment used than contract stated . Constantly changed project manager ( they were quiting company) . There is a reason they want prepayment before job is finished! Read and believe the bad reviews!!! Pipe Creek Tx We had a pool put in at a new house we were building in the spring of 2021 by Texas Pool and Patios out of San Antonio. One of the MANY mistakes made by the Texas Pool & Patios was they we were supposed to have stamped concrete around the pool area. For some reason when we got to town to see the progress, we just had finished concrete and not color stamped. So.. we were told by the pool company they would pay Sanchez Coating to put a layered coating over the concrete with any color or design we chose. This was our only option other than to jack up the concrete and start over. Sanchez Coatings came out and put down the coating with the color and design of our choice, which wasn't as nice as what we originally ordered, but this was not Sanchez Coatings fault. After a little more than a year the coating started chipping off. We called the Pool company and told them about it and they said they would get SC back out. This went on for many months and no one came out. Finally, after many phone calls and many months Sanchez Coating came out and looked at it. They gave me an estimate to repair and fix the problem areas. I told them to give the quote to the pool company because that was between them. The pool company called back and said Sanchez only warranties their work and product for 2 years. This all fall back on TEXAS POOL & PATIOS for their lack of urgency and the mistake made in the beginning. read more

But Clint Anglin, John Flores and the rest of the team have been over-the-top professional and top customer service. On time with construction timelines and really great with the after care and punch list issues and always great and timely with answering questions and getting back to me. I was extremely disappointed in the finished product of our pool which was built by Texas Pool & Patio (TP&P) of San Antonio. There are multiple reasons to complain about paying a premium price for sub-standard results. First, the color of the pool is inconsistent over the entire area. In some areas it's dark while the sun deck and walls on the west side of the pool are gray. Not only is the color inconsistent but we were not informed that the color would appear differently and different depths. If TP&P were the true "experts" that they claimed to be when convincing us to hire them to build our pool, they would have known this fact about their colors and should have warned us of this at the time we selected the color. Obviously, what we ended up with did not meet our expectations based on what we had been promised by their sales personnel. We then noted that in addition to the inconsistent color of the plaster, the application was streaked. In short, it appears as if it was shoddily applied. TP&P also was commissioned to build an outdoor kitchen area for us. This too developed multiple issues including an uneven countertop allowing water to pool on the surface and access-doors that weren't anchored to the wall. Since August, we have placed several phone calls & texts to TP&P. Furthermore, multiple phone calls and a letter were sent to the owner of TP&P, Jim Crites. After 6 months, we have still not received any definitive answers as to how they intend to correct these issues. Aside from the construction manager's frequent promises to "discuss the issues with the owner to see what options would be available," we have not received any answer or plan to remedy. We paid timely and in good faith prior to the work being completed. We trusted that TP&P would provide the pool expected. As it stands today, we have a pool with inconsistent color, streak marks from shoddy application, reinforcing wires poking out of the exterior wall, and a kitchen counter that isn't level and collects water. Our requests for a final walk-through have never been honored so we are left to assume that TP&P has no intent to address any of these defects. I must note that the most insulting part of this process was the total lack of professionalism on the owner's part in failing to respond to my letter or phone calls regarding this issue. read more

The light in my hot tub stopped working and I called to have it replaced by TP&P because it's under warranty. After the new light arrived I called weekly to schedule someone to come out to install the new light. Over two months passed and they still hadn't fixed it. An electrician was finally scheduled to come out, he came out but then left quickly after he saw there was water in the hot tub. He didn't call before coming out, didn't knock on my front door to say he was walking into my back yard, just saw water in the hot tub and left. I haven't heard back since. Nobody from TP&P has ever called me to schedule appointments or for anything. If you don't reach out to them they'll never call you back. I don't recommend using TP&P. read more

This is how our yard has looked pretty much since July! It's now October and this was taken today. We are so disappointed that we never got to swim in our pool at all this summer, but we cannot get anyone to come back out without complaining to the foreman first! We can't get Mike to provide a final itemized bill either since they have made many promises of free upgrades due to issues or "forgotten" they had already charged for increase in pool size. I do not recommend this company at all unless you want your yard to look like this for a minimum of half a year! Horrible company! read more

From the shovel till pumps on it only took 6 weeks for our pool to be completed. This was orchestrated by Mr. John Flores acting as a conductor for a Symphony bringing all the music together. First came the layout team consisting of Mr. Flores, Mr. Clay (Manager) and others to outline the pool. Next, Mr. Flores called upon the excavation team who acted promptly to complete their work, next up, rebar team, then, the gunite (cement) team, then came the plumbers, electricians and the plaster teams and finally the Acid Wash team. During the entire process Mr. Flores, Cassie (scheduling and administrative staff) and Ryan answered provided answers to the numerous questions we had. All were very courteous and professional with their answers. The final step in this process was the Pool School conducted by Mr. Clayton Davis who explained in great detail how, when and why the pool equipment does what it does. Again, in only six weeks we were in the water. I am confident based on their past performance if any questions or issues arise they will promptly assist. In today's world many people do s job or their jobs, however, in the case of those mentioned above I gladly place them in the ABOVE AND BEYOND THEIR JOBS CATEGORY. read more

We built our pool about 3-1/2 years ago, and Clay was a great sales rep and very informative and helpful. He designed a pool that was perfect for our backyard. We have two kids and we decided to take the plunge financially because we want 'our house' to be the one that all the kids want to be at. That way we can get to know them, their parents, and also make sure they don't get into trouble! Needless to say it worked! Every weekend the hot tub and pool are full of our kids friends. We love that our house is the social gathering place. We had a few issues with the masonry/flagstone and also a light, but the owner went above and beyond (even 'out of warranty') to make sure we were completely satisfied. I can't tell you enough how comforting it is not to have to come out of pocket financially to make those repairs. Believe the negative reviews because they are ALL TRUE!!! I would absolutely not select Texas Pool and Patio as my pool builder if I had to do it again. On a scale of 1-10 and 1 being the worst I would rate TP&P as a 3.5 at best because of the extremely poor customer service/responsiveness. Also the fact that the construction crews constantly left construction trash, fast food trash and beer cans during and after the pool's construction. We filled two bags of trash from around the pool area after the pool was complete. We could not throw multiple pieces of steel rebar in the trash so I had to take them to the City dump. Yep they left steel bars scattered in the yard. In addition be prepared for TP&P to completely DESTROY the entire backyard's landscaping sod, trees and bushes with their trucks. After you sign the contract and put down the deposit TP&P will inform you that they will not fix any landscaping because they only build pools and decks. It cost my family another $6,000 to have a landscaping company install new sod and trees for the side and backyard. Probably the biggest disappointment was the the Project Manager and Salesman lack of responsiveness to questions about the construction process. TP&P truly acts like they are doing you a favor by building the pool. Do yourself a favor and go with Keith Zars Pools. At least you will get good customer service. read more

The project manager I had was horrible. One thing after another was done wrong and I tried repeatedly to get him to spend time ensuring it was done right. I don't think that is too much to ask for a $100k pool. Ultimately he told me that he could not "sit next to them while they work". A total jerk who could care less about customers and not what you should experience with such a major investment. If you are considering doing business with TP&P I highly suggest going elsewhere. We starting building our pool August 23rd with a projected end date of October if the weather held up. Texas Pools and Patios started out great with communication and feedback of the project. Once the design was set and the work began there was no communication between the project manger or Texas Pools and Patio. My husband and I had to call the office to find out what the next stage was, when to drop of the checks (which we should not have to do) and feedback on what was going on when there was a hold up. On one occasion I didn't know they were ready for the next phase so I called the office and was told "oh we need your check". A simple call would be nice to know or pick the check up from our home. As soon as the check was delivered by me the team began the next phase. I called again to find out when the next check was due and same thing, no team working, no feedback or communication. So the team began the final phase after a week of no one at the house. Lastly, the pool has been ready for plaster for over a week and we were told the color we picked was out of stock a week after we paid the final payment. I find it odd that the standard color is out of stock. So I have completely paid for my pool and it is not complete due to lack of logistics on their part. This is ridiculous! read more

Do not use this company!!!! We have had our pool less than three years and have had to make so many repairs. Recently our pump, filter system, and pool cleaner broke which will cost us thousands more dollars. We also suspect our pool is leaking as it will drop 2 inches in the middle of winter. We had our pool built two years ago this month. It was the best investment in our family time yet! Texas Pools and Patio designed our pool, showed us other pools they had built, walked us through the process and happily answered all our questions before we started construction. Once they started construction, we were swimming 4 weeks later! It was great! The construction manager was on site almost everyday, checking on progress and answering our questions. 2 years later their customer service is still top notch! I have never met such an amazing group of people. I spoke with one of the owners and told him my needs and basically my limits. He told me he would get someone with me as soon as possible. The next day I spoke with Tina, she took what I told him and came up with a design, it was perfect for my needs. She was so sweet and met me after work, and it was pretty late. The Sales man Clay is a smooth talker. If his mouth is moving chances are it pure exaggeration. They are so eager to earn your business that they promises the moon and leave you with false hope. Since they are the middle man according to the contractors they are not favored well and don't pay well, thus is to why when along the project you have many different contractors doing the work because not all will return, nor do they work well with the super on the job. They are good a picking up checks for job phases but the customer service and follow up during the 3- almost four month of construction customer service sucks they promise 45days till you receive a completed project, But in actuality after your committed to the deal it becomes 45 working days M-F only and off holidays which ends up 9+ Weeks after they digging and they wait till the last7-8 day to finish in a hurry. They don't tell you that at the Kitchen Table when they are selling the deal. They always say they will be out or the subs will be out to finish unfinished work but the bottom line is they don't have a clue about there subs. Your better off finding a companies that allows for paying only upon completion of the entire job not phases. Or Half down the rest at finish or has there OWN crews and don't just sub out the work to just anyone that says they can do the work. Don't make the mistake i did cheaper is not always better if you make changes to the deal that are minor be ready to be nickel and dimed to death.
