I chose this place due to their high reviews, but that was a mistake. I believe they've paid a company to write fake reviews for them. I called before going to get a rough estimate for replacing a catalytic converter on my son's truck. The guy on the phone told me that the price varied depending upon the vehicle but he estimated between $250 and $300. I had already told him the specifics of my vehicle, and should have been given an exact cost of a converter for my vehicle. I get to their shop and the only people in the office are 2 customers. We stand around waiting for about 10 minutes with no help, and so I go to the open bay door to see if I can get someone's attention. I get one guy who was working, and he then contacted another guy that was sitting down looking at his phone to help me. The guy looked at my truck and basically confirmed the issue that I told him it had. I was on my way out of town and told them that my son would be picking up the truck. They explained that it would be a $75 charge to diagnose the truck and they would call once they had an estimate. They called a few hours later and told me that the third catalytic converter was bad and it was the hardest one to get to so the cost would be like $1,300.00. I explained to him that I had replaced both catalytic converters a year ago (that's another story) for $800 total, and that the truck only has 2 converters and not 3. The guy was dumbfounded and said that he'd all me back. He called back and admitted that there were only 2 converters on the truck and that he could change the one for around $900. I again told him that was too much and not near what was quoted. He then went into bargaining mode and we settled on a price of $695 (still too high, but I was traveling and just needed it fixed). They called back later to tell me that the repair was made and to see when we'd be picking it up. I told him the time that my son could pick it up after work and that he'd be paying for it with my credit card. He then went off saying that the $695 was a cash price and that it would be $800 if paying with a credit card. I don't have a cash type app, and was out of town to get him cash myself, so I got another son to pay him via Zelle. They charged my son $700 instead of the $695 that they told me the cost would be. $5 isn't a lot of money, but it's $5 more than they told me it would be. This company is dishonest! read more

I Googled a place near my office to get a state inspection and selected Texas Radiator & Muffler because of the amazing reviews. They were all true. Chris is a gentleman and understands that you build business through relationship, not trying to get work by being picky or dishonest with an inspection. The fringe benefit to the customer is that the inspection is very fast. I will be back for state inspections and any time I need brake or A/C service. read more

Service was super quick, I was there for maybe 10-15 minutes. I'm definitely one to utilize my time, so I love the quick service. 5 Star for friendly staff, and quick service. read more

I called to see about a state inspection. The gentleman who answered the phone said he had two cars ahead of me and to come by in 20 minutes. I was there in 10 minutes waited for about five minutes, and I was in and out in 15 minutes. Super nice, great service! Nothing fancy but the shop was clean and orderly. read more

I arrived at this " muffler" shop at 9:45 am on December 31st 2013 and wanted to have MUFFLERS installed on my car. As I arrived I observed one of the employees carrying breakfast into the office from the donut shop located next to the muffler shop. I entered the office and waited for several minutes before one of the 5 employees( who were all doing nothing ) asked what I needed. I told them I needed some mufflers installed on my car and was immediately asked to wait 5 minutes. They took the bag of breakfast food into a back office to eat. When they emerged one of them followed me to my car and I explained what I needed done. He left and a different employee( who did speak English ) returned to ask what I needed. I repeated my desire to have mufflers installed on my car and he told me " you know, we charge $95 an hour and this will be at least 2 hours. But, he said, " this is the end of the year and we r waiting for bigger jobs". I said " if you don't want my business just tell me". He said " ok, thank you" and he returned to his office. I'm not sure why this business is open but apparently they already have plenty of customers and I was the only one there read more
