Tommy just came through for us again. My son Eric was driving the old Tahoe and started noticing a coolant leak. He diagnosed it as a water pump and we gave Eric the number for Quantum. Tommy took it in, diagnosed it as a shot water pump and gave me a quote with options for replacing with an original Chevy part or a less expensive aftermarket that he knew to be reliable. Frankly, the quote was hundreds less than I expected. I am a fairly decent mechanic and would gladly pay his quoted price. He got the work done the day he was able to diagnose the problem. On time, exactly as quoted and functioning perfectly. I have recommended Quantum to friends for a decade and they all agree that you get honest work done right at a fair price. Engine wasn't starting immediately after turning the key. They performed their analysis and recommended a new starter and battery cables, for which they wanted to charge me $1,400+. I previously had the MC there for the same problem and, after $400+ in analysis charges, it was a $20 gas cap. Wanting a second opinion, I scheduled an appointment with Quantum. Due to their high volume of work, I had to wait 2-1/2 weeks, but the wait was well worth it. Tommy, the owner, looked at the battery cables and starter and said there was no problem with them. However, apparently some General Motors vehicles have this starting problem. Not enough fuel is getting to the fuel injectors when the key is turned. He pressure-checked the fuel pump and found it to be the problem. Rather than spending $1,200+, he showed me how to ensure the injectors have enough fuel so the engine will start on the first turn of the key. I've had cars serviced over 50+ years and Tommy is the first mechanic that took his time to fully explain the issue and the solution. He knows what he's doing and most importantly, he's honest. You can't go wrong with Quantum Mechanix.

Completely out!! Under E! Light on!! I looked and none had leaked on the concrete. I went and asked about it and they said they don't check gas for inspections so I asked why it was like that and they said they did not know and smirked. They mentioned maybe my odometer and I got it checked and it was not my odometer! They gave me some gas(which I think was bad gas btw) and it was maybe 3 inches of gas in a hand held gas tank. Then they just said to leave they can't do anything. I barely made it to the gas station! I think they might have done this to someone else too who I saw come back 5-10 min after their inspection. Overall very angry and disappointed! There is no way they did not steal my gas! My tank is fine and so is my odometer, I had gas when I got there and not when I left. I even got an oil change and they saw nothing wrong!

I brought it to Walnut Creek Auto Clinic and Chris quoted the work at less than half of what the Toyota Dealer quoted, using all Toyota parts. Mike, an ASE Master Technician at Walnut Creek Auto Clinic completed the work to my satisfaction and the van is performing perfectly. I am preparing to take it on a 3,000 mile road trip to NM, AZ, snd UT. I have been impressed with Walnut Creek Auto Clinic quality service for the past 20 years and I have recommended them to my friends who have been equally satisfied. I confirmed they had Wi-Fi for work purposes and provided an approximate arrival time to be courteous. When I arrived, the same or a different person advised that he would need to keep the car overnight without performing any diagnostics. I advised that I was unable to do that. After saying thank you and leaving, as I proceeded out the door, I commented, "I wish I had been told that over the phone." He followed me out the door and replied, "No need to be rude." I remarked, "Sorry," and he replied, "No, you're not. I said, "No, I'm not," and I was then invited not to come back. If I could give a zero, I would. I told the person on the phone I was visiting that the car's symptoms were the same as those described over the phone, which gave him ample opportunity to tell me the car would be needed overnight. I would have understood this and could have avoided wasting his and my time. In addition, if what is typically a simple remark incites anger, hurt feelings, or any other negative emotion, then this is a business I wouldn't recommend. Maybe their service is top-notch. The mechanics may be the best in Mansfield, the value may be superb, but I can't speak to that because of one's emotional dysregulation. I moved from Texas, have many family members throughout the Tarrant County area, and will delight in sharing this over-the-top experience, which I found almost comical.
