Came here after reading the founders book. What a great culture and atmosphere. Food was "legendary" and so was the service. The ribs are outstanding and the rolls are fantastic. Sides all great. Sat at the bar alone and service was fast and friendly. Had the manager come and ask how my experience was. You can go to a fancy place and be wowed, but this place does the basics VERY well and so many places miss this. Big fan. read more

Waitress was great, outside of that my wife and I will never return to the Abilene location due to the bad experience. Kitchen staff is obviously not wearing hair nets. My wife had a thin 1" black hair in her ranch dressing that came with her salad. After our dinners were served, there was a staff member that was dusting the lamps and the decorations above in the both behind me. Then I saw her dusting the windows and above in another section. I thought to myself, these tasks should be done before or after hours of operation. Not during business hours when folks are eating. My wife and I love Texas Roadhouse. We've have dined at many locations. Weatherford is by far our favorite. We will continue to dine and enjoy Texas Roadhouse. Just not in our hometown of Abilene. read more

we should have realized when our feet stuck to the floor on the way to our table that cleanliness wasn't a priority, but we confirmed it wasn't when 7 of our 7 bread plates had to be returned because dried food was on them. I decided to order a takeout order. I live 20 minutes out of town. I didn't get everything I requested. I called to inform them of my incomplete order. I asked for extra rolls and cinnamon butter. I got 6 rolls and 2 tiny cups (1tablespoon each) that won't be enough. I told this to the guy and I was told that It would be an extra cost, therefore, I got what they give. I said that I get extra for free in house. He replied that the in house cups are bigger and I know they're not because I've eaten there enough to know. I said that if I'm not charged more in house then I shouldn't be charged to go because they're all in plastic cups. He again said that they charge extra. I replied that they should've filled up the cup. (Pic included) As for not getting everything for my loaded BP, he said that they'll return the extra charge for it not being loaded. I'll watch for it. Ordered a Caesar salad as well. I also get a better (bigger) salad in house. This is so tiny. (Pic included) The food is always good. The food was so delicious, me and my friend T went there recently since it is our date night spot and the waitress we got was so rude. She did not check in on us once in a 20 minute time span and after offered to get us a basket of rolls never came back. It got to the point where our drinks were empty and we had to ask another waitress to grab us some rolls. Our original waitress Kaycee just stood around doing nothing. This place is pretty good, servers are quick and polite. Steaks are well cooked and well seasoned. The price is very reasonable. The portions are very large. The only complaint is the lemonade which has a weird taste to it. read more

Although I love me some good ol- Texas Roadhouse, I was utterly disappointed by their lack of reliability. We waited an hour and a half for our food until our server told us the kitchen had lost our ticket and would start on it "soon". We had to wait outright outrageous amount of time for our drinks to be refilled too. The food came out okay, (it's what to expect from Texas Roadhouse), but I couldn't get over the fact that it look almost 2 hrs 1/2 for a simple steak. read more

I think when you go to a chain like this you have to be prepared that it will either be just OK or an absolute disappointment. Tonight was bad. No red wines available, so I ordered a mixed drink. It was un drinkable. The glass was jerked away and no solutions or re make offered. I think my server just did not posses good server qualities. Instead of trying any other ideas I just had water, but they had no lemons. Food just didn't pop at all, was never checked on and when I stood up to find server they started bussing my table. Going back to the food runner their grip on the salad plate was weird and their thumb was in the lettuce. I just ate the other side. Hostesses need to put their phones away while serving guests and maybe at least say thank you to those guests leaving. Again I say lower your expectations and you won't be bothered. I think I'll just find other options next time in town. read more

As of today I will no longer be a fan of Texas Roadhouse here in Abilene. Went in tonight for dinner and service and food were not really appetizing or satisfying; service for Zak really wasn't up to par. Usually I can look past things like this since I have served tables in the past and still work service industry. Not a fan of this business anymore my fiancé and I's steaks weren't up to par either. Alexandra was the best waitress, I have special needs due to celiac disease and she was so patient and understanding! Dinner was amazing! I just ate at the Texas Roadhouse in Abilene. It was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had dinning out. When we finally got our food, my wife found and unopened wet wipe in her loaded bake potato. The waiter and manager were extremely rude to us all but out right accused us of planting it in the bake potato. Then when we got the bill, they had still charged us +1.29 for the loaded part of the bake potato. When I told them they should atleast take the +1.29 off of a $156.00 bill they would not even return to the table. When I asked to speak with the manager, she sent someone else to talk to me, she didnt want to talk to me. I never asked for more than the +1.29 to be taken off of the bill for a potato that wasn't able to be eaten.They did take the +1.29 off. Then when I asked to speak with the managing partner, they took my name and number and said he may or may not return my call. This is the first time I have ever left a negative review for a restaurant. And this is the worst experience I have ever had. read more

Arrived at 4:20pm on February 25th .We were a party of six trying to celebrate a birthday. we were seated at 5:20pm. space was too tight for the party. finally received a table suitable for the party. other tables were available. We did not receive our order until 6:20pm. Food we got was not hot. We been speaking to the Manager Jonathan. No consideration. Service was horrible. I visited Texas Roadhouse Abilene Texas on 09/03/3021 around 8:00 p.m for dinner. Was in the middle of my dinner when I realized that there was a roach in my raspberry tea! It was a totally disgusting! I had been drinking my tea the entire time and didn't realize it almost have of a glass had been consume! One of the managers, Shelby, on duty who came to assist me with the issue was very rude about the situation as if I was the problem. I asked for another manager because she was very unprofessional with her the way she was handling the situation. I spoke with another manager regarding it and left the place. The roach apparently had to be in the ice bin from the look of it! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT ROACH INFESTED RESTAURANT AGAIN!! I am reporting them to the health department! read more

Usually Tx Roadhouses are pretty consistent in the quality of food and service. Unfortunately not this one, not on October 28th 2023 at least. Took 15min sitting at the bar to even be acknowledged by staff. Another 5 being asked (nicely) to hang on. The kitchen grossly overcooked the steak for the person next to me. Then overcooked mine, too - which I unhappily ate in the interest of time. One of my sides was not as-ordered. Not sure what's going on with this location but the experience was not great. read more

I will never go back to this Texas Roadhouse. This location wrongfully fired a person (who had worked for TR for 20+ years) based upon an unconfirmed & wrongful allegations from someone threatening a lawsuit. Been eating here for 20 yrs. Always had a good experience. Came in today with a party of 10, and was told that we couldn't be seated until everyone was present. Okay. Finally 8 of us were there and we weren't sure if the other two would show. Hostess still wouldn't seat us. So I told her we could always just take our large group and spend our money elsewhere. She became argumentative and stated it was their policy. Once the attitude started, I was done. Told her we were leaving and she acted as if it was fine with her. Didn't even try to accommodate us or remedy the situation in any way. Just walked back to the hostess station with the other 3 or 4 teen hostesses who were all just standing around doing nothing. Rude, unapologetic, and completely unwilling/uninterested in keeping a large group there to do business. I'll never spend another dime at this TRH location.....ever! read more

The first moment I walked through the door, I was hit with the smell of rancid meats. We were seated promptly, however did not receive service until about 10 minutes later. The drinks took about 15 minutes to come out once we ordered and I was quickly running out of patience. The food was even worse, to my surprise. I would have rather watched a Dallas Cowboys game than eat the bricks of meat that they referred to as "chicken critters". The chicken was rock hard, and the macaroni was bland beyond belief, topped with stringy unmelted cheese. Overall bad experience, would not recommend unless you enjoy awful evenings. read more

I would like to put no stars if it were available, but it sadly isn't. The problem itself was not in our server, but the host having an extreme temper with us while we tried to understand the reason why our reserved tables were not ready for us. After waiting 30 minutes for our table, we were seated and our drinks were taken after an additional 15 minutes. By this time, many of us were very hungry and upset by the delayed customer service, which again was no issue of our server, but the management of this Texas Roadhouse. They had seated us in a close proximity, filling 6 tables, and only had one server taking care of all of us. Many of our orders came out wrong, missing the sides, one meal not coming out at all, and we had patiently waited for our orders for 2 hours on top of the 45 minutes we had already waited. I will like to recommend that people do not dine here if they want a pleasurable eating experience. read more

We had to wait FOREVER to get sat & there was only 3 people in our group... but it ended up being worth the wait. I think our server was somewhat new bc she seemed nervous, but she gave us great service! She was polite & quick. Our food was all delicious. I had the 8 oz steak with green beans & a house salad. The steak was cooked to perfection & seasoned great. The green beans are made with bacon & onions. You can't go wrong! It was so good. And their salads are the best. It was definitely worth the wait. It's father's day today and decided to go out to eat at roadhouse, of course there was a little wait because of the event but they got us in pretty quick. Our waitress is the only reason im on here leaving a review because i never leave reviews but Brittany Walsh has made me do it, Amazing customer service, extremely nice and patient and overall what every restaurant needs! It's going here in a wheelchair handicapped I would strongly suggest not going. We waited an extra 30 minutes to be seated because of my wheelchair. Several people were seated before us and never came to explain to us that they're waiting on one of their four tables which would accommodate a wheelchair. Worst steak I've ever ate (should say tasted, because you can't finish crap like that)! Without saying a word I had a family friend try my steak and they said it was way over salted and way over cooked. When you order a beer, you'll have to give the waiter a description of what a, "Dos Equis tall boy dressed," is because he doesn't understand what that is. Let's not talk about 4'9" Gilbert and his little man complex. The server dropped my fried pickles, but instead of just getting another order they said screw it. My youngest said that the salads they served at school were better than what he got. Had the nasty 24oz ribeye taken off my bill and left no tip. I'll never eat there again. read more

I was VERY impressed by the service I received by Jacklyn, she patient, constantly checking in us & kept our drinks full without having to find her, & when steak came out rare she got put at front of line instead of it going at end. Considering that Texas Roadhouse is always crowded. I was disappointed at how we were not welcomed. We were the second group of folks after the first couple that entered and was waiting to be acknowledged. There was no one welcoming anyone at the door. There were people sitting and waiting already and just really poor staff. We waited while standing patiently not to be rude for about 10 mins just to get noticed however still no action was taken I had to speak up. It was a horrible experience to say the least. They need to hire good people with good cuatomer service the ones who were working front clerk on 3rd April around 3pm just had horrible customer service. You can read their faces. THE WORST! Don't even bother because they'll just lie to you about wait times. Arrived at 5:30PM: 7adults 2 littles with high chairs. They said "20 minute wait." 1.5 hours later still not seated but still haven't even reached an upset point. They finally call our names and we are brought to a BAR table that high chairs can't even reach...so we waited ALMOST 2 hours to be given a table that we can't even sit at. Spoke with the manager and her consolation prize was either: be put back on the list and wait(as if we hadn't already done enough waiting) OR have our family be seated at two different booths across from each other. UMMMM NO THANKS. Maybe would've chose the second option if we hadn't already waited for 1hr 50 minutes. Thanks for ruining a birthday and having the worst management ever. read more
