Myself and three others ate at Texas Roadhouse in Anchorage on Muldoon yesterday. We all agreed that this was maybe the worst food we've had in a decade. The only real problem was everything was over salted. The green beans, the catfish, the gravy, the baked potato, the chicken, were all salty beyond belief. I often add a little salt to some food, even though I shouldn't, but this food was unacceptable. We spent over a $100 on this garbage. We have tried Texas Roadhouse a few different times, not impressed, tried one more time, but this time was truly a disappointment. We ordered steaks and one of us got the loaded potato and the other mashed potatoes. The wait for food was extremely long, and our server never stopped by to ask if we wanted anything during the wait. My husband's food arrived, mine came separately and when it did arrive it was just a plate of mushrooms thrown on top of the steak. I asked the server about the mashed potatoes and she said "oh I'll check on that " came back to say they would be coming soon. I seriously considered Everett's in Palmer, especially considering the bacon wrapped scallops on the menu on Yelp. And it was minutes away. But $25 just for that scallop add on? Seemed a bit steep. Plus, I knew I'd get a good meal at Texas Roadhouse. So, I made the 45 minute drive which I had to travel anyway to get back to the hotel. The entire experience is routine. I did the waitlist, which always gets me to a table quickly. Even around folks who are sitting and waiting, which always feels strange. My steak and sides were cooked perfectly and the service provided by Tim was attentive. Since a 16 ounce filet was not available (Tim did offer two 8 ounce steaks - that was a good suggestion) I just went with the one 8 ounce. Ambiance was quieter than normal as there was a decent amount of snow falling. Had the apple pie and ice cream for dessert with a cup of coffee. Tim got resourceful when he discovered they were out of the small creamer containers and just put some milk in a cup. Which was fantastic! read more

I usually enjoy Texas Roadhouse, but our experience today was really disappointing. It actually started off great--appetizers were good, and our server, Syd, was attentive at first. But things went downhill quickly. Half of our table got their meals, and the other half had to wait about 15 minutes before theirs came out. One person's steak was inedible, but they chose not to complain. My kids shared a full rack of ribs that came out completely charred and burnt, so we asked for them to be remade. The bigger issue was the service while we were still seated. Our server started clearing the table before we were even done, and kept asking us to hand her plates, bowls, and cups. We were trying to visit with family, and the constant interruptions became annoying and uncomfortable. We finally told her we'd be leaving soon just so she would stop. When my daughter and I went to the restroom and came back out, we overheard our server talking to another server about us, making rude comments about the situation--right in front of my daughter. That was really upsetting and unprofessional. All we wanted was to finish our meal and conversation without being rushed or made to bus our own table. First we were seated two adults with a baby in a booth where it was made even more narrow of a walkway by adding a table and two chairs to a booth across the walkway from us. Meaning we could not safely have a high chair in the aisle. The server seldom refilled drinks, nor took finished food away or offered any updates on food or asked if we wanted more rolls. Overall service was very poor. It was nearly fifty minutes from the time we received our appetizer until receiving our meal. Over an hour wait from the time we ordered. We ate here for an early since they open at 4pm. The employees were friendly. The restaurant was clean. The food was hot and prepared to my liking. The freshly prepared rolls are my favorite. They do not give a military discount unless you dine with them on Fridays from 12pm-4pm. Since this is a national chain, I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent steaks. Perfectly cooked prime rib. You could have Christmas any day of the week if you come here. Staff was super friendly & attentive. I'm not a fan of the chain-style ambiance and flair, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. Or can they? Plenty of free parking and enough tables for families and larger groups. Come with a group and save some cash when you eat here. Josh, the server, is responsible for their only star. Without him they get zero. The steak was undercooked. Easily remedied but I ate it as is. A wonderful 6oz b/l sirloin. Dinner rolls overcooked for the second time in two visits and the orders we're screwed-up. They put sour cream on my mashed potatoes instead of the brown gravy I ordered. So I had mashed w/ sour cream for the first time, wasn't bad, probably won't try again. Tonight's biggest issue was their stinginess over a tiny cup of chili. A side order. The bowl came out half full. A lovely manager named Emily happened by and said she'd return with a whole new bowl. I asked her to bring it with the meal. When the whole meal came, I noticed the exact same bowl of chili, stone cold, came back (hey gang, there was a small crack in the bowl). It gets worse. I suggested that to expedite things, just drop a ladle of warm, fresh chili on top of the current serving. Instead, they took the original bowl that has traveled back and forth to my table, twice and heated it up. This burned the chili to the side, oh, and they still refused to fill up the bowl. Why? As we left I smiled and told both managers what happened and how nothing was done about it. On a visit mid January. No particular order. Excellent parking. Very crowded and yet a party of 5 seated on a Friday night at 6 pm. Very reasonably priced, polite wait staff ample portions. I would not classify the food as anything to write home about. But if you are on a budget and want a fairly full menu to choose from. Perhaps this is your place. My filet has ZERO, and I mean ZERO, flavor. My bf's steak wasn't cooked correctly & he agreed that his food did not taste good at all either. My mac & cheese tasted like it came out of the microwave. Uhm service was terrible. Not an ounce of professionalism. No follow up on how the food is, no smiles, no "enjoys", just overall a terrible experience and not worth my hard earned dollars. Today is May30th 2026. My husband, oldest daughter and myself frequent Texas Roadhouse often and usually with a much larger group. Tonight was uncalled for to say the least. We arrived at your establishment at 7:06pm. Yes the restaurant is busy for a Saturday and end of month, but there was no waiting in line and there stood 7-8 girls around the podium ready to seat hungry patrons. Wonderful! We are seated at a booth at the end of a row which was good. We sat there hungry and waiting to see our waitress/waiter for the evening. That never happened and 2 other couples were seated in outer booths behind us and after us and were given waters and had their orders taken. After watching that interaction I told my husband and oldest daughter this service is the worst ever after frequenting this establishment. I pulled the paper off the end of the table and walked back to the front of the seating podium and told all the girls standing there what had happened and told them we were leaving. The same 7/8 girls were still standing there chatting and all of them looked shocked by what I had said. Someone in your establishment dropped the ball. I had already gone to 907 Alehouse prior to walking into your restaurant and couldn't get seated due to a non existent hostess. You were our second choice and you missed the mark. I can happily report our 3rd choice of Olive Garden exceeded our expectations in getting seated fast, getting a waitress in 60 seconds flat with a drink order in place. Anchorage is #3 on my quest to visit as many Texas Roadhouse locations as I can. We went on a Tuesday night and there was no wait. This is the first location I've visited that didn't have a waitlist with lots of people waiting outside for a table. We were seated immediately with a basket of their hot rolls with cinnamon butter. I never get tired of the rolls! The service was awesome and everyone was friendly. We ordered the cactus blossom to start and 16 oz. Ribeye and 6 oz. Sirloin smothered with onions and mushrooms for dinner. Everything was amazing and consistent with our expectations from other locations. I don't often eat at these type of big chain restaurants as they have a well-deserved reputation for mediocre, greasy food. We were pleasantly surprised to find this is not the case at Texas Roadhouse. We were seated as soon as we walked in, the place is huge so there's plenty of space. The host who seated us brought fresh rolls from the kitchen with her, so we immediately had something to eat, which is nice. Our server was attentive without being annoying about it. We each got a steak and sides, and as we told them it was our first time eating there, they also brought out samples of other sides so we could try them. As a meat-and-potatoes type of place, I opted for a steak and a loaded baked potato, figuring they should be able to do that correctly, which they certainly did. Both of our steaks were a perfect midrare, just as we'd ordered them, the potatoes were cooked through but not mushy and had all the toppings one expects in a loaded baked potato. We got the meal we were expecting, which I believe is a fair standard to judge such a place by. My wife had a margarita, which was a very standard margarita, nothing too exciting but again, what was expected. One thing I will say is that when you are sat there is "goodie bucket" that is facing away from you at the end of the table. So, I saw the beer list at the other end of the table and settled for a bottled import, then when we turned to the bucket, there was a whole other beer list there, and I found they had an excellent local beer on draft. Luckily, with such a large meal, two beers is not excessive so I was able to get a beer that I actually wanted. Best Steak in Town that's reasonable priced. Everybody knows about the rolls right? The salads are good, you'll know i get the Caesar dressing extra cheese, extra egg, extra tomato. I can eat that dressing on everything. They have a great sides menu to choose from. I usually get a baked potato loaded minus sour cream add extra cheese and the salad. You have to try the fried pickles. Now these are the best in town. We first tried them at the state fair. When we tried them here they were way tastier and the price was better and you got more. Got home, most of the food was cold, except for the potato skins which were very hot. One steak dinner was supposed to be medium. It was tough as nails, and cooked well. No pink at all. The other steak was ordered medium well, and was also tough as nails. The steak fries were inedible and cold and limp. The salad and broccoli were good, and the bread rolls were good. Food: The issue is they are busy so if you get a steak and kid gets ribs your steak is going under a heat lamp to wait where it keeps cooking. And the wait for your food, I would say took really long like a good 30-40 minutes waiting for our main dish to come out. But the appetizers comes out in a snap! Love my service, as they gave us extra of the bread and cinnamon butter to take home. The cut of meat was pretty good, I would say. The chili however was a miss for me. I don't know if it was because the chili was luke-warm but it wasn't what my cup of tea. The seasoned rice, tasted like rice. We had a fairly new server named Arlene she was super sweet & tried hard answering questions & what she didn't know she went & asked someone & got the answers which didn't bother us since you have to learn. The food was pretty tasty with everyone in our group where they said they would come back. One person had the New York strip smothered with mushrooms & onions & this dish would have been fabulous if the mushrooms & onions were HOT! Not cool eating a perfectly cooked steak with cold toppings. Another draw back is if you want a loaded baked potato there is an extra fee which I don't mind however I do expect butter to be on my baked potato and there wasn't any. I did ask for one of my sides to go since I knew I wouldn't eat all my food & I did have to ask for my side several times because the server kept forgetting.. now this could have been because she was new. I updated this review to give them five stars. As we were packing up our leftovers, they gave us a container of their awesome bread to take home, all without extra charge. Their service is great and they are very nice! Great family restaurant to enjoy with everyone. This was my first time going to the restaurant and right from the entrance, they have peanut buckets and peanut shells all over the ground. So be very careful if you are allergic to peanuts. There are also peanut buckets on each table and you are able to eat them while waiting for free. Now, their bread and the cinnamon butter is so good! These are complimentary and they are very nice about giving you multiple baskets of their delicious bread throughout your meal. We ordered a full rack of ribs, bacon cheeseburger (comes with steak fries), bloomin onion as the appetizer, pulled pork sandwich, and chili. All were very delicious. The bloomin onion sauce had a very strong horseradish sauce, which I did not prefer. But, we were able to switch it out with ranch dressing. The prices were reasonable for the amount that they give you. I would recommend you eating lots of the bread and taking home your leftovers for your next meal. It's also a great place to watch sports while you eat. Their customer service is great and their service was fast. At 18:00, all of the waitresses and waiters would come out and do a hoe down for everyone. Sit in the middle of the restaurant if you want to see it! read more

My daughter and I went to dinner as I wanted to watch the FAU vs FDU, IU vs Miami games to make the Sweet16 and other games being played. We ordered dinner and asked them to put on the Indiana vs Miami game. We were told by our waiter that the manager said they don't have that channel. The games on TBS were also not on any TVs.
