I seriously considered Everett's in Palmer, especially considering the bacon wrapped scallops on the menu on Yelp. And it was minutes away. But $25 just for that scallop add on? Seemed a bit steep. Plus, I knew I'd get a good meal at Texas Roadhouse. So, I made the 45 minute drive which I had to travel anyway to get back to the hotel. The entire experience is routine. I did the waitlist, which always gets me to a table quickly. Even around folks who are sitting and waiting, which always feels strange. My steak and sides were cooked perfectly and the service provided by Tim was attentive. Since a 16 ounce filet was not available (Tim did offer two 8 ounce steaks - that was a good suggestion) I just went with the one 8 ounce. Ambiance was quieter than normal as there was a decent amount of snow falling. Had the apple pie and ice cream for dessert with a cup of coffee. Tim got resourceful when he discovered they were out of the small creamer containers and just put some milk in a cup. Which was fantastic!

Such a disappointment. Texas Roadhouse really missed the mark on this one. First we were seated two adults with a baby in a booth where it was made even more narrow of a walkway by adding a table and two chairs to a booth across the walkway from us. Meaning we could not safely have a high chair in the aisle. The server seldom refilled drinks, nor took finished food away or offered any updates on food or asked if we wanted more rolls. Overall service was very poor. It was nearly fifty minutes from the time we received our appetizer until receiving our meal. Over an hour wait from the time we ordered. When the food did arrive it was lacking. Warm but not hot. The ribs were incredibly dry and even the "sauce" had formed into a solid surface.

We ate here for an early since they open at 4pm. The employees were friendly. The restaurant was clean. The food was hot and prepared to my liking. The freshly prepared rolls are my favorite. They do not give a military discount unless you dine with them on Fridays from 12pm-4pm. This location is conveniently located on Muldoon in a shopping plaza that has other restaurants and stores, such as Kohl's, Target, etc.

Josh, the server, is responsible for their only star. Without him they get zero. The steak was undercooked. Easily remedied but I ate it as is. A wonderful 6oz b/l sirloin. Dinner rolls overcooked for the second time in two visits and the orders we're screwed-up. They put sour cream on my mashed potatoes instead of the brown gravy I ordered. So I had mashed w/ sour cream for the first time, wasn't bad, probably won't try again. Tonight's biggest issue was their stinginess over a tiny cup of chili. A side order. The bowl came out half full. A lovely manager named Emily happened by and said she'd return with a whole new bowl. I asked her to bring it with the meal. When the whole meal came, I noticed the exact same bowl of chili, stone cold, came back (hey gang, there was a small crack in the bowl). It gets worse. I suggested that to expedite things, just drop a ladle of warm, fresh chili on top of the current serving. Instead, they took the original bowl that has traveled back and forth to my table, twice and heated it up. This burned the chili to the side, oh, and they still refused to fill up the bowl. Why? As we left I smiled and told both managers what happened and how nothing was done about it. Rather than offer something simple like a hot, fresh bowl to go they just said "I'm sorry" and "That's not good". If things go sideways here, they apparently don't care. 02/23

My fork was forking dirty. I had a spare in my pocket for such occasions, but not cool. The bread was buss tho.

(most of it up here is more Texas-inspired) I was delighted to find another BBQ place on Yelp, more so a Southern on, even MORE so one with ZERO reviews! I called them up and ordered ahead of time. I got the ribs, which were under $20, a rarity for BBQ! This place occupies the space formerly occupied by Alleyway Grille (that delicious, late-night, stoner haute-cuisine extravaganza) You order and pickup food from the drive through. I called in ahead and they asked me if I wanted to pickup in "5 or 10 minutes?". I chose 5! Service was friendly and I took my food home to eat. The ribs were very good and served on a piece of white bread (BBQ bread ain't fancy, yo!). The sides were much better than some of the more recent BBQ pop-ups post-COVID. It was a perfect lunch-sized portion of everything. I'll definitely be giving them another try (brisket on Sundays only). Great food, I just wish they would add collard greens. So rare to find those up here!

It was the perfect bbq sauce. We ordered the corn fritters and they were HUGE should have went with a half order. The only thing I was disappointed on were the sides. We ordered Mac and cheese and potato salad. I wish I would have paid more attention to the size of the sides cause when I opened the bag at home I was blown away. Next time I'll know to ask for a larger size. Overall, great service took about 20 mins from ordering. Hopefully it turns into a sit down restaurant with a beer selection. I can see it being the next best restaurant on the south side. Super stoked to have found this gem. I highly recommend you check it out. The brisket was moist and fatty. It had huge chunks of fat, AS IT SHOULD. If you don't like fatty brisket, you dont' like brisket. Please stick to that tough, dry stuff that tastes like beef jerky from the gas station that ya'll call "brisket". The pulled pork was nicely smokey and charred, and not overly sweet! So much of the pulled pork in this town is over honeyed/corn-syrup'd/glazed/etc. It came with crinkle fries and coleslaw. The slaw was a brilliant mix of sweet and zesty flavors, loved it. For $20, it was a tiny bit on the high side, but ultimately well worth the cost! The service was funny and friendly, some of the best I've had in Anchorage. I will be back!

We stopped back by after and ordered the Denali Fries, Jambalaya, and a blackened catfish po boy. Yes, blackened catfish. I was also very skeptical. I must admit I was surprised at how amazing everything tasted. The blackened catfish sandwich was really good. The bread they use is so soft and chewy. The fish is flavorful and moist! The coleslaw it came with wasn't saturated in mayonnaise. It's was just the perfect dish. It was so filling I didn't eat the coleslaw. The portion to price ratio is perfect!! The jambalaya was soooooooo good. Drool worthy good. Rice cooked perfectly. Flavor on point! Right amount of heat. Full of veggies and meat. Just phenomenal. The Denali fries were probably the most fulfilling and surprising entree. I thought it would be a side of fries just loaded up. No! It's the whole container! Loaded with perfectly cooked fries, cheese, meat, jalapeños, and bbq sauce. Every single fry was loaded up. I low key felt guilty ordering them because I only ordered them so I didn't have to share my food with the kids if they were peckish. No one finished them. I highly recommend the Denali fries if you're super duper hungry. Even if you're sharing. There's a lot of bang for your buck there. A lot goes into the pulled pork on top. And for all of us environmentally conscious people out there, they use 100% composting containers. The containers turn to soil within 90 days. There's literally no waste. The service was a 10 out of 10. Can't beat it. Very personable, knowledgeable, and nice. Super upbeat and fun. I recommend this food truck. If you see it be sure to stop. They also have a Facebook you can check to see where they are any given day and what time. It's a must try. Drooling just writing this.
