Top tier food and top tier southern service. Some of the most personal and kind service I've had in a long time.

I thought this place was ok. I had the pulled pork and it was lacking a little in the flavor…read moredepartment. The slaw and potato salad were a bit heavy with vintages for me. Some people may really enjoy them tho. I enjoyed the beans, good spice. They were busy so worth checking out and testing for yourself.

(most of it up here is more Texas-inspired) I was delighted to find another BBQ place on Yelp, more so a Southern on, even MORE so one with ZERO reviews! I called them up and ordered ahead of time. I got the ribs, which were under $20, a rarity for BBQ! This place occupies the space formerly occupied by Alleyway Grille (that delicious, late-night, stoner haute-cuisine extravaganza) You order and pickup food from the drive through. I called in ahead and they asked me if I wanted to pickup in "5 or 10 minutes?". I chose 5! Service was friendly and I took my food home to eat. The ribs were very good and served on a piece of white bread (BBQ bread ain't fancy, yo!). The sides were much better than some of the more recent BBQ pop-ups post-COVID. It was a perfect lunch-sized portion of everything. I'll definitely be giving them another try (brisket on Sundays only). Great food, I just wish they would add collard greens. So rare to find those up here!

I will say they are 5/5 for friendliness…read more But for Cajun food they are lacking. What they did good was their French fries and nuggets which their fries are battered. For a kids meal this is a really big portion. For Cajun food it lacked flavor and was kind of just weird. The red beans were bland, Lacked real seasoning, salt and had chunks of carrots. The gumbo was alright but not good or exceptional by any means. I did like that the okra was fresh enough to not be slimy. But it had no spicy appeal, and lacked the holy trinity. It also wasn't oily which was nice. The jambalaya was outright bad. It tasted sour and just really off. It was also like a soup instead of a rice dish. To top it off there were chunks of shredded cheese in it. Crab cakes were alright but the dressing for it was incredibly mustard seed heavy. My husband was a fan of the sauce, but I really wasn't. The buttered bread was good. I can't foresee myself coming back just because it lacked the bold flavor I expect from Cajun food and tasted pretty weird. If I ever gave it another shot I'd probably try a poboy.

Here is a gem in a far off place from the basis of its inspiration. I'm on a strict diet and could…read morenot try many things and I don't like wasting money so I got a small dish that I could tolerate eating. The BBQ shrimp it was. Now anyone who knows about this dish understands it's not the same type of BBQ like we do ribs and chicken. This is a butter sauce that's seasoned to creole standards and served with French bread. Typically it's served in shell however these were peeled and served in the sauce. I'm not mad at this as I didn't have to get messy to peel the shrimp and dip the sauce etc. it was nice to eat it with a fork and already doused in the sauce. The bread was easy to dip and it wasn't salty. I'd love for my New Orleans born friends to make the trip in order to check this place out. I went early in the day shortly after opening so it wasn't salty not crowded at all and the host whisked me to a table with a good view for people watching. They were able to handle greeting, serving, and bartending between the 2 of them and not lose any grace or standards of service. I explained my dietary restrictions and the young lady was happy to navigate me through the menu. They have a full bar that I'm interested in delving into but I had to work later that day so water and soda were sufficient.
