Came where with a bunch of my coworker's. My coworker who came here said the food was good. For me it was ok, not bad. I had their soup it was slightly salty that day. We ordered their crab cakes and crab stuffed mushrooms. My coworker and I shared onion rings and crab fries. I can tell you that was the only time I had crab. I was crabbed out by the end of this meal. Servers were chill. We came before closing and they welcomed us in. They have a nice view of the water during the day. This place was walking distance from where we stayed. Unless you're from there and you've been here before it's at the end of the road to the left by the ocean. I was in town for a week and this place was recommended as a great restaurant for seafood and a good view of the water. I decided to try it out and will say the view is great but the food itself was lacking. Firstly, I'll talk about the place. It's an easy drive to get too, but it's a bit secluded since you have to get to the water. It has a small parking lot, but shouldn't be a problem. The place is relatively clean and well spaced out. The servers are very nice. They ask if you want to sit inside or outside in case you want a better view of the water. The food is what I was looking forward to. The table ordered the crab dip as an appetizer. It came with crackers and bread and was pretty good. But the dip was mostly filler and I didn't feel like it had enough crab in it. I ordered the Basket and had 2 crab cakes and 3 fried shrimp. The shimp was well seasoned. However, they fry it with the shell on. This means you'll be spitting out shrimp shell as you bite into it. The crab cakes were actually delicious - very flavorful and filling. We also ordered rockfish for the table. I understand it's a white fish, so when it would fall apart in my mouth I knew it was way overcooked in the fryer. Each piece would desintegrate in my mouth and only leave behind a clump of soggy batter. Overall, I don't think the food is good. If all you want to order is crab cake then this place is golden. Otherwise, maybe only come to see the nice view of the water and the bridge. read more

Love the outdoor seating. They have a sandy area with cornhole and some beach toys which was perfect for my 1 and 4 yo. All their appetizers that we tried were pretty good (ahi tuna, fried pickles, crab stuffed mushrooms, hush puppies). I personally thought the cream of crab soup was too rich and could only take a spoonful or so. I ordered the two crab cake entree and the crab cakes were huge that one crab cake would have been more than sufficient. Minimal fillers in the crab cake. I was also pleasantly surprised by how large the side salad was. Others at my table raved about the seares tuna wrap and the chicken tenders and the crab legs were apparently quite easy to pull out. My party, and I arrived at the place around 1:30 in the afternoon, pretty late for a random Saturday lunch. The service was definitely executed with a big smile, the servers were cognizant of our presence, and was attentive at all times. We ordered a rockfish basket with sweet potato fries And coleslaw. Potato fries came in hot and steamy the way I liked it. The coleslaw was amazing with a creamy mayonnaise, not an overwhelmingly soggy one, the cuts of the cabbage was definitely fresh. I love the element of brussels sprouts added to the mix. Kudos to the cook. I also visited the restroom and it was definitely a clean one. I've seen people complain on here going back 8 years about how the men's room smells terrible, and it does, but unfortunately it extends well beyond the bathroom. It smells like an open sewer and hits you the minute you walk through the door. I came here to visit a friend who was playing on a Friday night and it ended up being amazing. The food was delicious. I got the fried shrimp and crab balls. My husband's beer was delicious as was his grouper tacos. My lemon cello martini was on point and the service was exceptional. Great service our waiter stopped by every few minutes on a busy Fri night. Drinks came out quickly and were cold. Appetizers included hush puppies, crab dip were warm and excellent. We had a variety of entrees prepared perfectly some rockfish some chicken sandwiches and grouper tacos. Pasta salad was amazing. We are definitely coming back soon. read more

My husband and I visited here with our daughter last weekend. We ordered the hush puppies and rockfish bites for our appetizer. Both were excellent! Husband wasn't crazy about the white sauce - I think it was a bleu cheese base? I thought it was good, though! I ordered the ahi tuna wrap, which was wonderful and had a spicy wasabi sauce. My husband had the Reuben and we ordered the chicken tenders with honey mustard sauce for our daughter. I need to stop and talk about the fries for a moment. They look like wedges, but they are thin and wonderfully textured. I've never had fries like this - they are fantastic! The honey mustard sauce was really unique - I tasted hints of...pumpkin spice? Maybe clove or nutmeg? Either way, it was delicious and I definitely snagged a bunch from my kid's plate! The portions were huge - we had leftovers for a couple more lunches. Everything was priced pretty comparably to other seafood places in the area. When the weather is nice, I could imagine the porch would be a gorgeous place to sit and eat and watch boats float! For now, it was a great place to take my toddler for some fresh air! read more

Stoneys was on the water- amazing view ! - in an area that you had to be looking for, off the beaten path. The menu was twice the size of the others. Cute place on the potomac river. First off we had the Rockfish bites. Holy fish balls! Sweet tender white fish in a dusted coating. Perfect. I ordered the tuna over a house salad. It was cooked to perfection. Tender, rare and delious! We also ordered the kabobs. Cooked to perfection, huge shrimp, scallops, red/green peppers. Seasoned just right. Our waitress, Bugg-aboo... For a Friday night the bar area was filled as expected although the restaurant itself was not very busy. Our party of four sat inside hoping to have a wonderful meal although that did NOT happen! Salad arrives and came with the longest piece of hair mixed in, disgusting! Returned it and couldn't bring myself to eat the next one. Three out of our four meals came out "COLD" they were all to be hot meals. Not certain what role our server has other than being a server with this establishment but witnessed her walking around and drinking beer the entire time we were there. Completely unprofessional! Really enjoyed the food, view, and nice waitress! Not sure why such poor reviews as, even on a busy Saturday night, they did a great job. We sat outside which was a little chilly in April, but worth it for the sweet waterside air and view. I loved the crab dip! It was cream cheesy with big lumps of crab and a delightful herb mix. She said it had scallions mixed in, but I couldn't detect any. It came with both French bread and crackers. My meal was steamed shrimp - very large, yet tender and tasty. He got a filet mignon sandwich that he loved too. Even his fries were good- little potato wedges split down the middle to be more crispy. The restroom was also filled with thoughtful touches, like feminine protection, and various soaps and lotions. Stoney's is definitely worth the trip - way better than trying to find a parking spot on Solomon's Island and waiting ages for a table. read more

I was visiting my Dad and we ended up here. It's got a nice view, but aside from that I wasn't impressed in the least bit. Maybe it's my own fault for what I ordered but I even tried bites of what my Dad and his wife ordered and still nothing left me with an "ohhh, gotta come back here". Overall, the menu is filled with all sorts of items with.... you guessed it Crab! Wasn't terrible but wasn't impressed. Food is hit or miss. We went in for lunch shortly after they opened on a Saturday and we're the only customers there. I got the mussels which were amazing, my wife got there fried shrimp basket which was not worth the $18 they charge for it. The prices are very expensive even for a seafood restaurant. Fries came out first, before our sandwiches, fries were cold, barely even warm. Sandwiches came out next and informed waitress fries were cold. She took them and returned with another order. Next order of fries. . . Well they were a little warm, not hot. You would have really thought they would have had hot fries the second time. Anyway, crab cake sandwiches were both slightly warm. Tasted good. . . but just barely warm. We are not coming back. Too much money for food that is only warm. I know they can do better. Maybe they think the location we carry them, dont know. Last year during the height of the pandemic during late summer we came by and got two crab cake sandwiches to go and ate them in the parking lot. They were great. . . hot. . . fries hot too. Very expensive, nearly inedible food, and some of the worst service I've ever had in a restaurant. I'll grant that there's a beautiful view, but that's really the only plus. And there are a lot of pretty views in the Solomon's area. The kid's menu had absolutely nothing in the way of seafood on it. My kid was dying for crab legs and the smallest amount was 2 pounds, so I asked the waitress if it would be possible to get him a half-order so I could get another meal for myself. If not, I was planning on sharing an order with him. The waitress asked the manager, and she said yes, they could do a quarter pound as a child's menu. A quarter pound? OK, but how much would it cost? The waitress didn't know, so she went and asked, then came back and told us, yes, we would get a quarter pound, but it would cost as much as the two-pound original order. Wait, what? In the meantime, my brother-in-law ordered a mixed drink that came in a large shotglass and had the wrong liquor in it. When we pointed out these problems, the waitress just giggled (literally. She giggled a lot) and said it was because we were sitting outside. Mmmmmkay. I ordered my son a kid's meal and, annoyed by the service so far, ordered myself a bowl of seafood chowder, which was supposed to come with scallops, clams, and shrimp in it. Well, it didn't. It was full of potatoes and maybe some tiny bits of clam, but nothing else. It tasted like Campbell's Clam Chowder with more potatoes in it. When we asked for things like ketchup or salt, the waitress said "no problem!" but apparently it was a problem, because she wouldn't bring them. One of our party got up to get condiments from an indoor table, since we waited so long for them (they never ended up coming). There were a lot of other problems, too, but these were the most egregious. Every problem was met with a giggle and no offer to fix it. And the meal was very expensive. At half the price, it would have been a rip-off. I've been to this restaurant before and enjoyed it, but I'm not coming back, ever. read more

Wow! This place has really gone down hill. This was always a go-to for us but we won't be going back again. Incredibly bad service. Friendly though. Definitely shouldn't be looking at her phone when it rings while taking orders at our table of 6. Her explanation was that her boss from her other job kept paging her. Seriously? When asked about the brand of Pinot Grigio and the Chardonnay she replied that all wine tasted the same to her so she didn't know. We suggested she check with the bartender. She took so long that one of our party went to find her, and yep, she was on the phone with her other boss. She never asked about more drinks etc..so many other things. Restaurant had 5 tables inside and 1 outside with customers, 2 waitresses working. The other one was really hustling and ours..was not. Food was ok, not great. Food is overpriced and not a great quality for the price. Service was horrible, don't bother to ask for extra napkins nor expect to have your bill charged properly. I would say keep an eye on billing mistakes. This place is a true shit show, just because you have a location next to the water doesn't not mean you should over charge for poor quality food.
