    Beautiful outside Patio.

All day everyday day during the summer and even fall I could sit out here and eat and drink and meet new people. I really wish we had known of this place the 4th of July. We didn't find it till the 5th. Alls good anyway. The food is fantastic the service is decent. They allow dogs on the patio and ours loved it.

My party, and I arrived at the place around 1:30 in the afternoon, pretty late for a random Saturday lunch. The service was definitely executed with a big smile, the servers were cognizant of our presence, and was attentive at all times. We ordered a rockfish basket with sweet potato fries And coleslaw. Potato fries came in hot and steamy the way I liked it. The coleslaw was amazing with a creamy mayonnaise, not an overwhelmingly soggy one, the cuts of the cabbage was definitely fresh. I love the element of brussels sprouts added to the mix. Kudos to the cook. I also visited the restroom and it was definitely a clean one. A clean bathroom is a reflection of a clean kitchen that's to my standards There were ample parking spots, the view was amazing. Will I go back? Why not.

Dear Susan, Justin and the Whole Team at Clarke's Landing, in this season of Thanksgiving, I would like to thank each of you for catering Scotty's celebration of life. I received so many compliments on the food, the presentation and service and that was all because of your careful and thoughtful efforts. Thank you from all the Roysden Family and Friends.

The last stop of the day before going back to my "headquarters"(my hotel in Waldorf, MD) was to have a late lunch at Stoney's Clarke's Landing, a seafood and bar dive by the Patuxent River banks. Spectacular and leisurely views of the boats while eating fresh Chesapeake Bay oysters, redfish "nuggets" and crab cakes, their specialty. I was so hungry and the food was so delicious that I almost forgot to show it properly (so all you guys get to see is a half-eaten crab cake and the yummy coleslaw that was more salad than coleslaw!) Sorry (not sorry...)

Where ever we dine I am always respectful and accommodating to the staff at each restaurant we enter. When greeted by a waiter or waitress after they ask how we are and introduce themselves, I always respond with, "We are fine, how are you ?". At the close of our meal on June 11 at about 2pm, our waitress asked if we would like separate checks. I have no idea of why she asked this of my husband and I except that we are a bi racial couple. Nonetheless, I find it offensive, and my guess is almost all married couples would also be offended. At no time did we ask or require her to make any assumptions regarding our order, we engaged with her respectfully and directly. I just don't understand why she could ask this and react to us this way, particularly because we were nothing but appreciative and respectful to her. Why couldn't she return that ? What is very revealing is that this never happens when we dine at CD Cafe, Tiki Bar, La Vela, Solomons Pier, Sweetbay, Pier 450, Courtneys, Black Salt, Charleston in Baltimore, Elizabeths in DC, Le Diplomat in DC, or any of the restaurants we have ever dined in Chicago, NYC, London, Paris, or Tokyo.

I love this place…read more First things first: all of the crushes are great. The grapefruit is actually my favorite, but the orange crushes are some of the best around. If you're a crush fan, you really can't go wrong here. When you talk about The Lighthouse, you also have to talk about the views. Parking can definitely be a pain, but once you finally find a good spot, you realize it's absolutely worth the wait. We even went while the Blue Angels were flying, and we had great seats outside to watch the show--such an awesome experience. On this visit, I ordered the chef salad. Unfortunately, I didn't think to take pictures while I was there because I was too busy eating, but I did take a picture of the leftovers. And honestly, that may tell the story better than the original plate. The amount of salad you get is impressive. I ate my fill at the restaurant and still had enough left to completely fill a to-go container. That's basically two meals for the price of one. Lunch today became lunch tomorrow too. Since we're talking salads, here's a pro tip: only put dressing on the portion you're eating. When you get home, place a dry paper towel on top of the remaining salad before putting it in the refrigerator. The paper towel absorbs excess moisture and helps keep everything fresh and crisp instead of soggy. Between the generous portions, great drinks, amazing views, and consistently good food, The Lighthouse remains one of my favorite local spots. I'll definitely be back--and yes, I'll probably order another crush.

Definitely had a crab flavor but it had much more cheese than meat. Wifey ordered the Brussels sprouts and old bay wings as her meal and I went with the prime dip with bacon and duck fat fries. Brussels weren't hoisin like on menu but left dry with a balsamic sauce on the side! Crunchy and flavorful! 4.4/5! Wings were perfectly seasoned and huge! Perfectly crispy and delicious. 4.7/5! As for the Prime Dip! Sooo much cheese. Must have a Green Bay Packer fan in the kitchen or something but hot damn. Prime rib was flavorful. Bacon was a genius addition by yours truly. It's a very clean establishment and the staff that greeted us were professional and very friendly. We perused the menu and decided on Thai chili mussels and cheesesteak egg rolls for apps, water and a fig martini for our drinks. The egg rolls came with marinara dipping sauce which was different. Both appetizers were good but lacked in flavor. They were both missing an umami flavor that would have elevated them. The eggs rolls specifically could have benefited from more cheese, a better quality of steak (the menu described it as having rib eye but it was very chewy..I know good ribeye has a nice fat cap but this wasn't that), and salt. The mussels had the spice from the red curry paste but again was missing salt. Sea salt or even soy sauce being added would have elevated that dish. It could have also benefited from some fresh garlic and a fresh herb like Thai basil. To note my martini was very sweet. It was comprised of fig vodka which intrigued me but it just wasn't for me. Our mains were the double crab cake dinner and I ordered a Caesar salad with cajun salmon. My salad was executed okay but with one exception: the dressing. I don't know what it was but it was definitely not a classic Caesar dressing. If you love a good Caesar salad you know the dressing is a crucial element to that salad and as much as I was looking forward to this dish, it failed. The salmon was cooked perfectly, there were shards of parm and not shreds which was a welcome addition and the romaine lettuce fell a bit short as well as it wasn't crisp. Overall I finished the salmon but not all of the remainder of the salad. It was just ok but the salmon definitely saved it. My husband had the crab cake dinner and he enjoyed it very much. There was not much filler in them and they were made with lump crab meat..I venture to say maybe even jumbo lump. I tasted them; they were seasoned very well. The dinner came with fingerling potatoes and coleslaw. I didn't get to taste the potatoes because my husband devoured those..so I guess they were good. I had a bit of the coleslaw and it was dressed well and flavorful; the celery seed in it was pronounced and it wasn't overly dressed in sauce which was good; the cabbage and other vegetables were able to retain a nice crunch. All in all we agreed although some things about our meal could be improved, we would certainly come back. There was a nice vibe in there, that allowed for a great laid back early week date night.

Right away, I could tell they were using fresh frying oil and everything was freshly fried.. most places double fry precooked stuff and use old oil.. to my surprise, everything was freshly made! Smash burger, they have smash burger! What? The fact that they served their signature Atomic smash burger with jalapeño, cheese, an onion ring, pulled pork or brisket, bacon, plus coleslaw?? This was amazing! The standard smash burger was just burger patties and cheese.. it was also really good. Chicken wings were like Korean fried chicken level good wings. I was a bit surprised how plump and juicy they were with really good sauce.. the waitress recommended Old Bay honey and lemon pepper, a half-and-half order that was amazing.. my daughter substituted her smash burger fries with green string beans.. wow, that was really amazing.. not some canned, mushy string beans, but rather really fresh, almost like they picked them from a local farm--buttered, salted, then fire-roasted.. are you kidding me?
