We split the crab chowder, which was very tasty! And then I had a fried haddock sandwich with a side caesar salad. I really liked my sandwich. It was perfectly battered and fried. My husband had the crab cake sandwich and a side of the scratch corn. The crabcake was good, but the scratch corn was too greasy for our taste. Overall, the food was really good, and the water view is really nice. Great place for a meal! Side note: their cakes looked incredible, but we didn't try them this time. I would definitely consider going back for a slice of cake.

Cracker Barrel - Good Meal, Great Service…read more As you can see from my past reviews, it's been quite some time since I've written an update -- though we've eaten here a few times since then. We just hadn't had a meal worth mentioning until this visit. My wife and I took a drive down to Lexington Park and decided to stop into Cracker Barrel for dinner and to exchange a shirt she had purchased for me a few days earlier. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon, but we were greeted quickly by a nice young man who took our drink orders right away. My wife ordered the Maple Bacon Chicken with mac and cheese, and I went with the Fried Chicken Sandwich and fries. Our server was attentive, kept our drinks filled, and was friendly to chat with -- it helped that things weren't overly busy at that moment, so he had some time to check in. Overall, the meal was good and the service made the experience even better. I'm sure we'll be back -- my wife enjoys browsing the store up front, which always has a unique mix of gifts, clothing, and seasonal items.

It was disappointingly small with hard (unripe) avocado slices and mostly iceberg lettuce including the core of the head. The booth by the bar was under a vent and I was freezing. When I asked to move to the other side I was told the waiter was overwhelmed and that there were no clean booths even though one whole side was empty with nothing on the tables. The server never offered me another entree or any compensation for the sad salad. If I want a burger and fries I don't go here. I give this restaurant two years maximum before it closes. I've never gone back to several restaurants in this town and they end up closing.

The servers are very nice. They ask if you want to sit inside or outside in case you want a better view of the water. The food is what I was looking forward to. The table ordered the crab dip as an appetizer. It came with crackers and bread and was pretty good. But the dip was mostly filler and I didn't feel like it had enough crab in it. I ordered the Basket and had 2 crab cakes and 3 fried shrimp. The shimp was well seasoned. However, they fry it with the shell on. This means you'll be spitting out shrimp shell as you bite into it. The crab cakes were actually delicious - very flavorful and filling. We also ordered rockfish for the table. I understand it's a white fish, so when it would fall apart in my mouth I knew it was way overcooked in the fryer. Each piece would desintegrate in my mouth and only leave behind a clump of soggy batter. Overall, I don't think the food is good. If all you want to order is crab cake then this place is golden. Otherwise, maybe only come to see the nice view of the water and the bridge.
