Let me start by saying I've eaten here before, but there is new management. The new management was extremely courteous. They always extended themselves greatly when they didn't have to and we appreciate it. Everything we ordered came out hot and fresh. Everything we ordered was delicious, so delicious in fact, that we shared our three entrees and no one was disappointed. 3 for 3, and my son that just ordered fries, regretted that he didn't get a burger; he will next time! And there will definitely be a next time. I loved the crispy fries, the Reuben with the well grilled rye, the cheesesteak, and the roast beef on welk. Got an omelette the other day, but it wasn't made like an omelette at all. They cooked the veggies separately, placed them on the plate, then cooked the eggs and just placed it on top of the veggies. I am new to the city and wanted to try some local restaurants. Decided to give this little restaurant in the cut a try. I was riding by one day and I saw the sign and decided to stop by on my lunch. It was lunchtime and it was kind of packed. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and I sat at the bar. I decided to get the cheese and bacon fries and also the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. The service was great and the food came quickly. They were busy in there so I was actually surprised when they brought the food. The fries were crispy and tasted good alone. The cheese and bacon only added more flavor to the fries. I would recommend the bacon and cheese fries to anyone. Now onto the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. I have had a lot of chicken bacon ranch sandwiches in my life from various places, but this one is easily top three. The type of chicken that they used was different than any other chicken that I had before, it tasted as if it was a rotisserie style chicken that they had chopped up to use as the meat. I could be wrong, I don't know, I just know it was amazing. I do not know if you can tell from the pictures, but that is piled high. I was not even able to close the sandwich. I had to get a fork and eat out of the middle like a salad, just to be able to eventually close the sandwich and eat it regularly. Overall, the food was great. I will definitely be eating there again in the near future. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very diner-ish, in a good way. There was plenty of seating and space. We came by for breakfast while in the area on a recommendation from a friend. It has a true dinner feel with album covers and records on the wall and the waitress wearing a poodle skirt. A bit worried when only one other table occupied when we walked in. We ordered coffee, omelet, breakfast sandwich, pancake with chocolate syrup and corn beef hash, Wild thing breakfast. Been wanting to try this place since they opened, took a chance when Linda's was closed. Shout out to our waiter, he's a nice kid. French toast was decent, eggs were bland and tasted odd. My biscuits and gravy came without biscuits, and home fries mixed in. They were kind enough to bring me biscuits, however they'd been warmed, not baked and were very soft and soggy. A customer brought in his dog which sniffed at my food while I was eating. Not sure if the staff is related, but the communication between them was uncomfortable and unprofessional; the waitress had a tone with customers and staff, the owner blamed our waiter for the biscuits, then had an attitude when I did not finish them. They claim the cheese was provolone but it was a tasteless conglomeration of dreck. The waitress scolded me for not being able to finish. My buddy got a club sandwich which they made out of a hoagie roll. The place does a good business with locals who of course don't know much. The jukebox was out of order. I thought the waitresses were working hard, but there wasn't enough of them. Everything from there was downhill. The service was slow. It took over an hour to get our food. When we got our food, it was very bland with no seasoning. The price was comparable to other restaurants with better service and food. A family even walked out because of how slow the service was. The sandwich was bland and had too much Mayo. The bread was very greasy. The sandwiches are advertised as coming with chips and a pickle. Neither mine or my husbands sandwich came with the pickle. When we asked, they brought us out a cup of sliced pickles? They did apologize for the mistake with my sandwich. We were seated near the jukebox and it was a little loud for me. I arrived around noon; the place wasn't very busy. Let's talk about the service, I was asked to seat at the bar which I declined. Not everyone that is a party of one wants to sit at the freaking bar... I asked for a coffee and it was received promptly, my order was quickly delivered; however, the service seemed to be a bit lacking, as I wasn't offered napkins, jelly for the toast, a glass of water with the meal, or a coffee refill. These are some basic aspects of service that could be improved. The atmosphere is not too bad and the background music was at a good volume. I think I will be back, wish you had old school hash browns on the menu. read more

I was looking for breakfast at lunchtime on a Friday and this gem was a lucky find! The experience was excellent across the board. I was greeted immediately upon arrival, taken to a booth and offered a beverage. I ordered the Wild Things Breakfast Platter. The pancakes were huge and super fluffy. My over easy eggs were cooked to perfection, which takes quite a talent! I'm not a fan of meat but was able to substitute a side of fruit. I expected it to be a small cup, but it was a sizable bowl filled with red/green grapes, strawberries, oranges, and my server offered bananas be added. All of the fruit was the perfect ripeness. Way too much food to eat in one sitting, so I have breakfast for tomorrow as well. The service was absolutely incredible. Cammie (I apologize as I'm sure I've misspelled their name) was lovely and very efficient. She was attentive, but not hovering. Additionally, what I can only assume were the front of house and back of house managers (or perhaps owners?) visited to check on my meal and experience. This doesn't happen nearly often enough, in my opinion, and I could tell it was standard practice as I saw them visit other tables throughout my meal. The decor was super cute and the restaurant was clean. Probably strange to note, but I loved the colors chosen for the decor in the women's room and have decided I need the same color tile someday. All this rambling is to say, I do not have a single negative comment or recommendation for improvement to offer and highly recommend you check it out. read more

I have read some of the reviews....don't go here if you don't want that Flashback feel as the food is truly "throwback", tasty and impeccably simple.....just like the olden days, so don't go there with 21st Century expectations.
