Overall, our experience was pretty good. It's located inside of a shopping center next to a hotel. There is also plenty of parking directly in front of the restaurant. I ordered fish and chips with the sautéed vegetables. Food was seasoned well and came out quickly. Our waitress was also very friendly and reviewed the special menu items with us. I did find a hair in my food. However, the manager was very kind and took care of it by offering to remake the food and also removing it from the bill without me having to ask. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's definitely a nice quiet spot for a quick bite. Lots of rustic charm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We were seated promptly, arriving shortly after 6 PM when it wasn't busy. The Mucho Meat pizza was flavorful, and the crust held the ingredients well, although I wished it was slightly larger. Our waitress was nice and professional but lacked attentiveness, leaving our drinks empty for long periods. I sampled several beers with the "Build Your Flight" option, where each 5oz sample was priced at $2. Some samples didn't seem to be the full 5oz, though. Overall, I would rate this place a B+, scoring 22 out of 25 stars.

First time here, great cabin feel. Not your tiny cabin... those huge ones that have canoes hanging from the ceiling. I didn't order food but I had some drinks. The dragon fruit ale was very clean and refreshing. I already miss it. The Irish stout started a fight in my mouth and I left with hurt feelings. The bar staff was friendly and I think you will like them. Stop by and see them!

This restaurant was a surprisingly good find in the seafood-dominated cuisine of Southern Maryland. We ate on Saturday at lunch. The place was not busy. Service was attentive and quick with the drink refills. I think this was in part because it took a very long time for our food to get out. Ambiance was very American grill- there was a nice patio area we didn't get to try because of the weather. As far as the food went, we were delighted that they had a dedicated gluten free menu. Everyone enjoyed their food except for the fried chicken, but that might be because he is a devotee of Raising Cane's. We had some minor quibbles with some details-- I thought my duck fat fries were waaaay too greasy, for example-- but otherwise if you are visiting the area I think this is the best upscale option in the area that can handle food issues gracefully. Maybe just don't go in a hurry.

We haven't been to the Ruddy Duck in a while. We went about a week ago. Took a party of 11 in there one hour before closing and Chris was absolutely fantastic! He got every order correct, he was so patient as we had 6 kyds with us ages 6-14, and very attentive to our needs, and funny! Monica was wonderful when we flagged her down running past asking her which entree she would pick out of two! I loved that everyone including the owner pitched in to deliver all of our food at the same time so we weren't waiting on anyone to get their food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service, atmosphere and food were all excellent![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Going back!

This restaurant sits across the parking lot of the hotel we stayed at for two nights. We knew this before arriving so the plan was to take advantage of their 'Power Hour's where all appetizers are half price (limit one per person). Excellent deal. We ordered the petite crab cakes, the dry rubbed wings and the spicy onion rings. The crab cakes could have used some more Old Bay but the wings made up for that. The onion rings were amazing. All that food and three cocktails came to about $45. The next night we decided to try their pizza. Omg. It's the best. Crisp chewy crust, we got the pepperoni and the flavor was perfect. And the size was just enough for two people. Don't miss out on this one.

They roast their own coffee! Wow! Yum!…read more On a weekend morning (Jun 2026), we were in the vicinity of Solomons MD, and friends said that Bugeye Grill roasts their own coffee. That got our attention! We stopped in at this bright clean restaurant on a late weekend morning, (weekdays they open at 5pm). The French-press coffee was a tasty fragrant medium Brazilian blend. The flavor was well balanced, and it was a good smooth non-acidic coffee We found it to be a creamier fragrant brew, not a darker roasty flavor. It had a lightly malty sweetness and nuttiness, characteristic of its blend of Brazilian arabica, robusta, and hybrid beans. They have different blends from time to time. They really are a full-menu restaurant terrific views of Back Creek, and a midscale-classy vibe. They focus on seafood and steaks and lobster! We saw sandwiches around $20. This time, we came for the coffee. It was luscious!

The restaurant had a nice variety of dishes and specialty cocktails...I think that I was more interested in the latter. ;) Since I have not visited Solomons, MD before, I cannot comment if the prices are comparable to other places in the area. However, most of the entrees were in the $25 and up range. I thought my fish and chips (I forget the actual name of the dish) were fine, and my spouse really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. Although I thought the portion sizes for the sandwiches and fries were fine, the serving size of the mussels seemed a bit small. However, this could have been an optical illusion because the serving bowl for the mussels was HUGE, so the amount of mussels could have appeared to be smaller than what it was. I thought the outdoor patio was great especially with a view of the water and folks going about their business. However, some may not like the setup because you are right on the main street, which can be a bit noisy especially if a lot of bikers are cruising up and down the strip. Parking was a bit of a struggle (not the fault of the restaurant). During our visit, all of the public parking lots were full. However, we visited on Mother's Day weekend so maybe there were more folks (including us ) in the area than normal. I'll admit that since this was my first time visiting the area that I'm not too familiar about the ebb and flow of parking. Overall, our server (who reminded me a bit of a young Jodie Foster) was amazing. One thing that I really appreciated was her telling us about a potential delay for the food due to a large party. Although no one wants to hear that after ordering food, I think it's nice and considerate when a server provides a heads-up so diners can adjust accordingly.

The social distancing was adhered to - and there are higher barriers between tables. The food: The rolls are amazing here - fluffy, slightly sweet, and even better with the butter. They were good sides - nothing special, necessarily, but I appreciated that the fresh veggies still had bite to them. All in all, a great meal for very little money. Happy that I stopped in and, if I'm ever in the area again, I'd be happy to stop by again.

The steaks were were all hit or miss. I ordered medium rare and it came out well done on outside and rare inside, like they took the steak and put an iron press on it to hurry the cooking. The medium steak came put MR and the other MR steak came out medium. The good thing about it though is they were still juicy. The mushroom topping was very salty which made the steak salty tasting. The fries, rice, and sweet potatoes were very good. Sweet potatoes were a bit small but not too bad. The salads were definitely small to me. Wish they had a bit more on the plate. If you have heart problems I wouldn't recommend eating here due to the amount of salt in everything, especially any type of vegetable. Wish the steaks were cooked how we asked but overall experience was good.

I decided to try it out and will say the view is great but the food itself was lacking. Firstly, I'll talk about the place. It's an easy drive to get too, but it's a bit secluded since you have to get to the water. It has a small parking lot, but shouldn't be a problem. The place is relatively clean and well spaced out. The servers are very nice. They ask if you want to sit inside or outside in case you want a better view of the water. The food is what I was looking forward to. The table ordered the crab dip as an appetizer. It came with crackers and bread and was pretty good. But the dip was mostly filler and I didn't feel like it had enough crab in it. I ordered the Basket and had 2 crab cakes and 3 fried shrimp. The shimp was well seasoned. However, they fry it with the shell on. This means you'll be spitting out shrimp shell as you bite into it. The crab cakes were actually delicious - very flavorful and filling. We also ordered rockfish for the table. I understand it's a white fish, so when it would fall apart in my mouth I knew it was way overcooked in the fryer. Each piece would desintegrate in my mouth and only leave behind a clump of soggy batter. Overall, I don't think the food is good. If all you want to order is crab cake then this place is golden. Otherwise, maybe only come to see the nice view of the water and the bridge.
