Went back for a 2nd trip and it was like a different restaurant! The first time around the rolls kind of had this off taste to them, but tonight they were really tasty on top of being fresh and hot. The steaks we chose to have topped with their gravy, mushroom, and onion mix, but even without it the steaks were cooked perfectly and were very tender. Tried again Saturday. This time the steak $22 ribeye was difficult to cut and to chew. I could not finish it, I tried. A first for me. I LOVE Texas Roadhouse. The place is fun! The server was amazing! Wish I got his name he was exceptionally pleasant. He was a tall guy with a goatee and short hair. His name started with an S. Shout out to him! He was one of the best servers I ever had. As a matter of fact, every server and employee I encountered treated me with the same pleasantness and respect that my own server did which says alot! Man I gotta say I really enjoyed myself there. My sister and I arrived at 5pm Tuesday 2/28. We were seated in the bar area. Our server got us drinks and took our orders. We each ordered a burger and fries. The server refilled my drink without me having to ask. After 30 minutes with no food we asked what was going on. The server said she'd check. For starters my server Kiki was awesome! She got everything my guest and I needed! She was sweet and attentive. Which turned my night around because the start wasn't the best. So I had made a call ahead seating arrangement had the confirmation number and my name and the host said she didn't have me down, weird considering it was the same host I spoke too. This Texas Roadhouse is top notch. Given all of the precautions that need to be taken because of COVID-19, this establishment has gone above and beyond. All employees have on masks and gloves, and someone is constantly cleaning the door handle as employees grab orders from inside the restaurant. Pick up is so simple and our order is never wrong. The rolls were still hot when we got home! Not to mention how kind the staff are during these tuff times. This isn't the case for every location! This Texas Roadhouse is a stand-out. It has a country look and a country aroma in the air!! When we arrived, we asked for a booth and were promptly shown to one. Montana, our server, asked what our drink choices would be. I opted for hot tea, Mom, a ginger ale and Bro, a coke. The drinks were $2.89 apiece. The menus were on the table, lunch menus. We arrived about 3:31 pm. on Saturday, October 12th, 2019. We needed a few more minutes to decide on our choices for lunch. I asked for a hot tea and Montana brought coffee. However I politely declined it and asked for hot tea. Montana brought it promptly. The hot tea was priced at $2.89. Mom decided on fried catfish, applesauce and mashed potatoes with barbecue sauce for the catfish. The catfish was priced at $11.99. Bro decided on the same entree with sweet potato as a different side along with applesauce. I decided on the country vegegtable plate. The plate was priced at $9.99. I chose chili, buttered corn, caesar salad with caesar dressing and a sweet potato. I also asked for a child size water, because most restaurants bring out those huge glasses and I only wanted a small glass. We enjoyed our food. Mom asked for more rolls. She enjoyed those!!! My buttered corn was spicy and so I asked after the meal to speak with the manager. Kelly offered a replacement, and I selected a baked potato with butter on the side to go. Kelly visited during the meal to make sure we were content with our orders. Thats when I should have spoken up. Well I will next time!!! Our grand total was $45.20. We also met Katy Anne, the owner and manager. Kelly, Montana and Katy Anne were gracious towards us. I will not visit again, since I am a seafood buff and there were not many choices for seafood, but I expected that and that was ok. I liked Famous Dave's better. Both places have about the same choices or similar selections of food items. Average noise volume, plenty of televisions to view. Someone had a birthday, so the staff sang and gave them a treat. The restrooms, they called them outhouses were nice size and clean for the most part. Only they ran out of paper towels when we visited and there were no hand dryers. Parking is plentiful here. We arrived about 40 minutes before closing and was met with exceptional service from our server, SYD as well as by one of the managers, Rocky. So underwhelming. I get it, you're a chain, but c'mon. It's kind of hard to be this bad. Came here begrudgingly with a friend, and from the moment I walked in I knew that this wasn't my kind of place. The decor was overly flashy and tacky (not in a cute, kitschy way) and the waitstaff dances every half hour to some terrible country song. For whatever reason, this particular combo of ambiance just really made me want to punch something. Not my thing. Aside from the cringe-worthy atmosphere, my biggest gripe would be the fried pickles that I ordered as an appetizer. I shit you not, there was no pickle inside the breading. I'm talking straight up microscopic sliver of pickle covered in too-salty fried grossness. So sad cause I love me some fried pickles. For my entree I got the 'Chicken Critters' (whose idea was this?? seriously.. critters??) which is essentially just a chicken finger. I chose corn and mashed potatoes with gravy for my sides. Corn came from a can and was watery. The mashed potatoes were smothered in thick, gelatinous gravy. The critters were obviously pre-frozen. My partner ordered a cocktail and it felt like just fruit juice. No sign of the rum at all. 2. Our entree came after a long wait and my steak was cold. My partners chicken was warm.
