I visited Great Valley diner / grille to have a quick breakfast at this location with my friend after a long tennis match. It was right on Lancaster Avenue that it was easy to locate, with plenty of parking. Inside the restaurant there were specials board, we were greeted and asked to sit anywhere we prefer, there were probably four tables occupied at that time. The ambiance of the restaurant inside is definitely good for a diner. As we were handed out the menu, we were asked about anything to drink, and we ordered coffee and orange juice. The menu looks very good with a wide range of breakfast and non breakfast items, and some of them had some Greek influence dishes as well. I ordered a stack of pancakes and house hash browns with onions and peppers. My friend ordered French toast with banana and walnuts. We got our coffee very quickly, and I ordered it with milk. However, the milk doesn't taste good, but the coffee was okay. When I got the pancakes the pancakes were cooked perfectly fine and hash browns was the highlight of the breakfast I enjoyed it thoroughly we were handed out the check, we paid and we walked out overall it was a a very good experience, I would have rated five stars if the coffee was provided with the right quality of milk. I will definitely visit this place again to try non breakfast menu items they looked very good . It's definitely worth the place. Try it,and you will definitely like it. It looks like a locally owned, and you should support it.

They have only been open since this past Friday as of the time of this writing. I'll be gentle. Basically, they took what used to be the KFC/Taco Bell, and turned it into a diner. They have breakfast served all day, a complete sandwich menu for lunch, and entrees ranging from steaks to turkey to seafood to Italian. What they don't have yet are desserts, but I was told they're coming soon. So to compare them to local diners, I've lost track with what's going on with what used to be Paoli Diner up the street. This place won't have to do much to be better than that. The little Frazer Diner has some similar dishes at a much cheaper price but it's hit or miss and very cramped with limited hours. I can't really compare them to Classic Diner as that wouldn't be fair. They may have positioned themselves just right when it comes to local diners. Their competition might be more from some of the local pizza and sandwich shops such as Venice Pizza nearby which does a brisk lunch business. Also they're in a shopping center with several unique choices to eat nearby. It will be interesting to see how they fare in this atmosphere. I know what you're saying... Get to the food already! I picked a lunch special that I'm not sure they'll have every day. It was the Prime Rib Panini which came with Swiss cheese, spinach, red peppers and onions on it. The deal included fries and soup for $9.95. I went with the creamy turkey rice soup. The soup was excellent. I'd eat a bowl of that. The sandwich was quite good, although it could have used a little more meat in my mind. The fries were a bit unevenly cooked as I had some which were nice and crispy, some which were floppy and soggy, and at least one that was so hot in the middle that it burned on the way down forcing me to grab my ice water. They need to get the consistency right on those. For now, 3 stars is about right until I try a few more dishes from them to see if they deserve an upgrade. They're worth a shot.

Great Valley Diner on Route 30 in Malvern, PA, sits in a former fast food structure, but aside from the general boxy nature of the space, it has escaped its past, and now looks something like what it is - a kitchen for three squares a day. It has a small counter with three or four spinners, and a dining room with a dozen or so booths and tables. The menu has all the usual suspects, especially breakfast, with a full list of egg/omelet, pancake/french toast possibilities and decent coffee served in red mugs. I went with their Italian Omelet, but subbed feta cheese for their regular provolone. No sweat. It was served less than ten minutes later and was quite good, with crispy home fries and rye toast. There were plenty of sweet sausage, onion and pepper in addition to the fresh feta. Service was provided by a family member, who was pleasant and attentive. My red mug was refilled twice without request. Adequate parking. Exiting from the connecting shopping plaza onto Route 30, a bit confusing. 3.5 STARS

We were pleasantly surprised by the great valley grill. The food was fresh and came out quick. Everything was made correctly and the food was delicious. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired, but everything else makes a visit well worth your while. This place is a hidden gem.

Really dry and greasy "grilled" chicken sandwich

No stars would be a better depiction of my experience. My husband and I took our 3 kids out for lunch and could not agree on a place so I decided to try something new. This place was the former Kentucky fried chicken and I thought might be cute. It turns Out that this place was weird and beyond quirky. It was empty and still it took forever to order. Our food order was incorrect on 2 accounts But rapidly corrected. I had a bite or my sandwich that was both greasy and dry at the same time. The rye bread was soaked in a substance that was similar to butter but tasted like sub par margarine. I tried to doctor it up with the side of coleslaw of which they forgot to put on my plate but the slaw was old and unappetizing. Ugh... Everything was a basic disaster. I did not touch my food and the server did not question me. My kids even commented that the service was slow and not exactly bubblieee. On the ride home my husband quipped "at least he didn't point out the hair in our 6 year old daughters milk shake" .... Gagging... I feel badly panning this restaurant but it was really uncomfortable and all around horribly odd.

Decent food, fries were ok...however ceiling repairs make you wonder about condition of kitchen.

Oil should be changed in the fryer.. chicken philly was good; however way too many onions.

Exterior. Looks kind of like an old Arby's or Wendy's

I was the only individual that wasn't recognized as a regular yet the cozy charm was still imbued amongst the service I received and I was still greeted enthusiastically. ENVIRONMENT Cute and cozy are the first words that come to mind when walking into the breakfast nook. The environment can best be described as the dining room of a cottage. There was ample seating and a sense of familiarity that instantly makes you feel at home. FOOD Bomb coffee!!!! I have to start there. While I was waiting for my food I heard several quips amongst the regulars about the quality of the coffee and I decided to take the dive myself. I was NOT disappointed. The other standouts were the turkey sausage and THE PANCAKES. There's no shortage of breakfast spots along Mainline both commercial and locally owned. I freely admit that I was skeptical at first... But after several satisfying dinners - usually as a…read moreprelude to an evening at nearby People's Light - Fork & Bottle has not only captured my attention, it has also continued to impress. The setting, as you would undoubtedly surmise, is typically hotel-esque in nature. That being said, however, the room still manages to generate a certain generic charm. And I would also hasten to add that the service - even with our various parties of 20 or more - has been excellent in every respect. But on to the food... The dinner menu isn't quite what you'd expect. Take the starters, for instance. The usual suspects - Cesare Salad, Shrimp Cocktail, French Onion Soup, Buffalo Chicken Wings, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls - as you note, are present and accounted for. However, there are also a number of innovative diversions - such as Soft Bavarian Pretzel Sticks with Delco Lager cheese sauce, Pepperoni Bolognese Flatbread spruced up with crème fraiche, ricotta, Fontina & Parmigiano cheeses, and the Ten Million Dollar Dip that features Maine lobster, sour cream, bacon, cheddar, almond, scallions, and Ritz crackers - that manage to grab your attention. Moving on, diners may choose from either the Entrées category or take a more casual route with Sandwiches & Pub Fare. The former, which lists a number of all-too-familiar ingestibles, still manages to tempt our taste buds by teaming them up with some rather intriguing sidekicks. A not-terribly-exciting Pan Roasted Chicken, for example, is prepared agrodolce, with an alluring sour-sweet demi-glace... Chilean Sea Bass is cooked up teriyaki style... Canadian Salmon is adorned with a sweet & spicy glaze and companioned by mango & yogurt... Sautéed Lamb Sirloin is enhanced with a rich & savory Madeira sauce... and a 10oz Strip Steak basks in an addictive shallot & port wine reduction. Other main course possibilities include Angus Filet au Poivre with cognac cream, Char Grilled Pork Flat Iron marinated with garlic & oregano, Lobster Fra Diavolo, Crab Stuffed Shrimp, and Broiled Scallop & Lobster Gratin. On the other hand, should you decide to take the Sandwiches & Pub Fare route, have no fear, you will certainly not be disappointed. During previous visits, I sampled the Garganelli Pasta Bolognese and the Chicken Cobb Salad. Both were excellent. The former is comprised of buttered garganelli (egg-based pasta from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy), angus beef Bolognese, olive oil, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The latter combines mixed lettuces, hard-boiled egg, tomato, blue cheese, bacon, and avocado sprinkled with a zesty lemon vinaigrette. Most recently, my dining companion made straight for the Crab Cake Sandwich, to which she gave an enthusiastic "thumps up." I, on the other hand, couldn't resist the considerable charms of the Chicken Cutlet & Ranch BLT, a luscious combo on toasted brioche immersed in an incredibly addictive herb ranch dressing. I should add that the delicious hand-cut French fries, which accompanied both sandwiches, were a considerable drawing card as well. The dessert menu runs the gamut... from such familiar sweet endings as Crème Brûlée and Warm Chocolate Lava Cake to Mango Lime Cheesecake with raspberry sauce, Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding garnished with vanilla ice cream, and Frozen Mississippi Mud Pie. The restaurant also offers Bassetts Ice Cream & Sorbet, should you be so inclined. For my money, however, nothing quite surpasses The Desmond's Warm Bread Pudding. Bathed in a sweet vanilla sauce, this is one outrageously rich, thoroughly delightful denouement that more than lives up to its considerable reputation. Simply not to be missed.
