Overall, our experience was good, but not sure we would come back. We saw the rooftop umbrellas as we were driving down Main Street and thought it looked good so we stopped in. There was a nice big parking lot that was right next to the restaurant. We first tried to sit on the rooftop, they had a bunch of picnic tables up there. The ambiance was nice, but the way the sun was in the sky there was no shade. We chose to sit inside instead. It was fairly empty for 6pm on a Saturday. Our waitress was super nice. Husband and I each got a beer (brewed on site). They were good, happy to see a large selection that wasn't all IPAs. We started with the soft pretzel. It was tasty, big and soft. Husband got the brisket noodles. He loved them, but agreed with the menu warning that they were very spicy. I got the fried chicken sandwich. It was okay, nothing special. Kids each got the chicken nuggets and fries. The chicken was fresh hand breaded chicken breast. The French fries were very overdone. We had been excited for weather to cool down enough to sit on the roof; which it today was and so we on the rooftop we went! To our surprise our favorite waitress was there( shout out to Julie). Julie remembered us and my husband's thing with his beer and salt. Recommend a drink for me ... delicious too. The charcuterie board was very good! Our main courses were the udon noodles with pesto fresh mozzarella sun dried tomatoes and cucumber, perfect for a hot day! And what is a beer without a burger ? East Branch is a regular go-to. I love their cozy atmosphere, delicious beer, lively trivia night, and scrumptious food. We're big fans of Quizzo, and we've found Wednesdays at East Branch to be one of the best in the area - at least in regards to the variety of questions. They always start and end on time, too. Love it! I'm also a huge fan of East Branch food. I haven't tried a single thing that I wouldn't recommend. Highlights include the Bahn Mi Sandwich (big enough for two!), Brisket Mac n Cheese, Au Poivre Burger, and Brisket Noodles (SUPER SPICY!). It's not the best spot if you're any combination of vegan or gluten free. There seem to be limited options, though some of their items can be made vegetarian. Did I mention their incredible roof top? It's a little chilly for rooftop hangs this time of year, but keep it top of mind come spring. It's a beautiful space, overlooking the main street of Downingtown. The main dining room is located on the second floor of the building, but there is an elevator and accessible restrooms for visitors. In the evenings, the adjacent parking lot is free, and street parking is free for 2 hours. Their house beers a pretty consistently good, and they're always adding more variety to their tap list. If you're a cocktail, wine, cider, or soft-drink kinda person, they have great options for you as well. I love East Branch, and I always look forward to meeting up with our friends for Quizzo here. My brother and I took my dad out to East Branch for lunch yesterday. He has some medical issues at the staff were extremely nice in us accommodating his needs. When I called and texted beforehand, they were super friendly. We ordered the Wings and Brussel Sprouts for appetizers. The Brussel Sprouts in particular were superb. My dad and I had burgers with a side of the pickled vegetables which was a nice option. My brother had the Udon Noodles which was tasty and spicy. The beers were excellent and our servers were really nice and friendly. They were giving away their Belgian glasses as gifts and that was cool also. A really great place! For $20, it was inedible & very disappointing We loved the atmosphere, the wings were cooked to perfection & THE FRIED BRUSSELS SPROUTS with blue cheese & almost candied bacon....ummmm, WOW, to die for!!!! Also loved the sticky dog for only $5!!! The Mac and cheese was good, cheese sauce was a little watery, and the brisket a little over done and cut in really thick cubes, but good smoke flavor. I've eaten here twice and have enjoyed it both times! Most recently, I stopped in for the outdoor beer garden. Service was super friendly and accommodating to me. I liked the way they spaced out the tables and chairs in the parking lot. My burger was perfectly cooked, and I loved the goat cheese fig and honey on the crostini's. Glad to finally make it here. The second floor and rooftop setting is unique and really cool to experience. It has the feel of an older house that has been modernized into a brewery. They have good beer, although I wish there was some more fruity beers. We got a half order of the honey gochujang wings. They were good, but I was really blown away by the bleu cheese. Maybe the best I've ever had. It's a little expensive but not crazy. The kitchen was cranking out a lot of mouthwatering food. We certainly want to sit on the roof next time and have some more food! I'm a huge fan of East Branch. They offer a nice selection of craft beers and haven't gone off the deep end when it comes to IPA's. They aren't super hazy and have nice balance. I actually prefer the Kolsch every time I go in for a drink. The food menu rotates a bit with something for everyone. Whether you are a vegetarian, gluten-free, or want some wings this place has you covered. Always a few specials and every meal has been excellent. Some of their salads go heavy on the dressing, so be sure to ask for light or on the side. Also, the seating is first come, first serve, so get there early. They have long high-top community tables that can get quite cramped, so we have walked out on occasion during peak hours. Last week, we wanted to enjoy a meal and a beverage, but they had one table they refused to give to us (a party of 2 and this table sat 4-5), so they tried to put us between 2 other parties super close on both sides and my wife wasn't feeling it. I get them not allowing us to sit at the larger table, but it was a real bummer since I didn't think they took reservations and we didn't want to leave, but headed to Victory and found a spot at the bar to have a beer and dinner. The food is inspired and is fresh. We split the assortment of pickles that are obviously made on premises because you can still taste the cucumbers but fully pickled. I loved the pickled grapes!! Ambiance/vibe - 8 out of 10 and very cool space upstairs in an old building. Beer - 6 out of 10 (very standard brews like a pale ale, one ipa, kolsch, dunkel etc), which isn't a bad thing but nothing stands out in my mind. Food - 7 out of 10, I'm torn as the brisket and fried chicken are amazing! But they don't serve the chicken straight up anymore as a platter and for dinner they had a friend chicken sandwich only. I got the brisket noodles and I read reviews and the server even said they are extremely spicy - and I love very spicy dishes, but this was just too hot and not even fun to eat 1/2 way through. They really need to tone it down and while the chef or others might say that isn't authentic, I just couldn't taste or enjoy anything else after eating the noodles and had a stomach ache for 12 hours due to it. Wife has the naan wrap with cauliflower and funny enough that needed more spices sauce as it was a bit flat! The appetizers of chicken and waffles and general tsos caulflower were awesome though, but just stick with them and the brisket platter and you will be happy! Service - 8 out of 10, our server was friendly and came by often. Overall I want to give them 3.5, but yelp only allows 3 or 4 and with a less spicy noodle dish and a few different beers, they will be a 4 star+ soon. read more

Checked out East Branch Brewing on a recent trip to the Downingtown, Pennsylvania area and this spot is one of the best around! On the second floor of an old fire station, East Branch Brewing has a great bar setup with seating both at the bar, at some high-tops and then seating along the perimeter of the brewery area. There is a great overall vibe to the brewery and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The beer is quite good and for the four of us we all tried different pints for the first round. I went with the Alluvium, a really nice 6.5% IPA that paired perfectly with my lunch selection. The brisket sandwich was ridiculous and the fact you could add a mustard sauce and homemade pickles to it made it drop-dead amazing. For a side, I went with the brussel sprouts that had nice chunks of bacon in them and were a great complement to the brisket. Other meal options around the table received thumbs up reviews including a fried chicken sandwich, fried chicken platter and grilled cauliflower sandwich. The second pour for the afternoon was another IPA, St. James, that was so solid that when I noticed it was available in four packs I decided to grab a four-pack to bring back to Massachusetts. The menu is the perfect size for a small brewery and there looked to be not a bad option on the menu. The server that we had was pleasant, funny and helpful and made some dynamite recommendations relative to pairing the beers or talking us through a couple of the different options they had. All in all, East Branch Brewing Company is a great find in the Downingtown, PA region and if I lived closer would be my go-to spot time and time again. read more

What a fun place! The atmosphere is relaxed and modern. Besides the bar area, there are communal style seats and smaller tables. You could also choose to lean on the tall windows which are pretty cool. There are games and pool tables as well. Beer first - 4 stars. Honestly not mind blowing beers, but very nice for such a young brewery. There is a wide range of styles, more than most of seasoned breweries. At the times we visited, they had 3 IPAs which I like (one of them was a DIPA), but there were also Farmhouse and Kolsh and Bock. Food - 4 stars. Fun, funky, fusion dishes and well crafted. I love the Brisket Noodles with Kimchi & kale. Tender, juicy and full of flavors. The Shroom n'Grits is a fun item to get as well. Price is a little high for the quantity, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait to go back to try more of their innovative beer and creative food! read more

I really enjoyed my visit at East Branch Brewing Co. it's a little confusing when you walk in that you have to go upstairs to get to the restaurant. Once there, you just seat yourself. We sat at the last two seats open at the bar. The bartender came over right away to give us menus and take our drink order. The beers are really tasty and strong. The Double Citra IPA is amazingly delicious! We had the special fiddlehead fern appetizer, tater tots, brisket and fried chicken. I love that the menu is fresh and creative. The brisket was so juicy and melt-in-your mouth. The chicken was nice and crunchy. The ferns were very creative and different. The toys were really good and fresh and went really well with the Korean bbq sauce. I can see how this place would get packed really quickly as there aren't many tables. Going on a Sunday worked for us with the free parking across the street and two seats left open at the bar. I will definitely be visiting again. read more

Our first time here. We had a flight, a Porter and the Biere de garde. They were all very good. We did not eat here but there is food. (And it smells amazing) The bartender told us you can also grab food from the restaurant below if there's something there more to your liking. The only negative we had was the parking, there's a Borough lot next door which is a pay lot which is busy from all of the businesses in the area. But try back streets too.
