Toughest steak ever. My leftovers because I couldn't even chew this steak to swallow.

I was really excited to eat here. I've only been to one once in Temecula California. So today was only me second time eating at a Roadhouse. I was excited because it has to be better somehow in Texas right? Oh boy was I dissatisfied and disappointed. First of the service was perfect from my waitress. Two supervisors stopped by before my food came which I wish they stopped by halfway through my meal. The bread was perfect just as I remember from my visit in CA. I tried a cup of chili which I enjoyed also. I saw my steak and was happy because the cap was the biggest I've ever had. I attacked the cap first as I always do. It was ok. Here comes the bad part. I cut into the main part of the steak, the serrated knife had difficulty. I tried it, super tough. I rotate the steak because sometimes it's just a certain area. Next cut even harder! I couldn't even chew this part! Good thing it was a really small piece so I drank water to swallow it so I wasn't rude by spitting it out. I turned the steak again. Tried one more time and gave up. At this point I just finished my cup of chili and ate a few fries but disappointment already set it. I eat chicken or salads during the week and save a nice steak meal for sunday's. Well that was done in vain because I think this has to be the toughest steak I ever had. I've never left so much food at a restaurant at this cost. In my pictures you'll see I left at least half of my food and I cut all around that steak looking for a decent bite. I waited for quite sometime looking at the supervisors that approached me before my meal to hopefully come by at some point before I left but that didn't happen. I doubt I'll ever visit again. I've had steak from a different place the last 4weeks and this was my worst steak since my arrival to El Paso.

Hello - first time here, and I am telling you that this is a great place. If you are looking for the following- then stop by! Fresh steak Tasteful steak Delicious BBQ ribs Juicy fried pickels Side orders Refreshing drinks Beer And curious service!!! I do recommend asking for the onions and mushrooms on the side - otherwise, these will be placed on top of the steak. Which may (to some) take the steak flavor away. A must stop for a great and delicious meal. Thank you for such a pleasant visit.

Headed to the roadhouse after my girls volleyball games. Surprisingly only waiting about 15 minutes before we were seated and it was busy for a Sunday afternoon. I was looking for steak and the ribeye was what I was eyeing. It was ready in about 15 minutes, looking delicious and smothered in mushrooms. My server asked me to check if it was cooked to my perfection and it was pink in the middle like i asked. The sweet potato was super tender and sweet really good. I had a house along with my meal. In all it was super good best part was not having to wait tremendously like those after we left.

We walk in and get seated right away and it was just before 5. Surprisingly our appetizer came out within 5 minutes which I thought was odd, seeing it was boneless wings, also they were like at room temperature. I don't like that you have to ask for plates when you get your appetizer, other places usually bring out extra small ones when you order an appetizer, not here. We order our food and it was the longest wait ever, about 30-35 minutes. Again, the food wasn't hot, the corn & green beans were semi-warm as well as my steak & chicken critters. Maybe the food was just sitting out there? I'm giving this place a long break until they get their act together and have better service and hot food. Better service because the waitress would just disappear for long periods of time!

As we were seated our waiter took 10 min to great us and then another 12 min to bring our drinks. I didn't think anything of it yet it was a precursor to the rest of our dinner. After he took our order our kids food came out in a very timely fashion but our two orders of salmon and one steak sandwich took 40 min to arrive at the table. What a ridiculous waste of my time because my sandwich was missing the fries ordered and our waiter thought nothing of it till I brought it up then he took another 10 min to bring my fries. All this while simultaneously forgetting the sauce for the salmon which also took another 10 min to bring out. The salmon was so dry it was tacky and stuck to your teeth. If you know the feeling you know it's bad. The rice that came underneath the salmon was crunchy and way undercooked. All while the waiter was like oh I can bring you free deserts for your wait all while I could only think about how I just wanted to leave. I was internally livid and exhausted but kept it to my self after seeing the owner or manager who we the guy with the white hair over at the bar enjoying a few alcoholic beverages meanwhile his restaurants service and waitstaff to the worst possible job they can. I saw the people who got the most attention and good service were all regulars sitting at the bar laughing it up with the manager/owner older guy. Why not make sure your restaurant is running smoothly and food is being delivered and prepared properly and stop trying to impress the regulars who most likely will show up either way. Any restaurant that is this unorganized and unmotivated is due to crappy management. All this and the waiter is like I'll comp you for the steak sandwich with a discount for the bad service and salmon which was a whopping $5. I don't want a discount I don't want free day old desserts I want good service and decent food. Discounts and free desserts will never fix the problem because it will always be a crutch for trashy customer service. How about stop drinking with the guests and whoop that staff into semi decent shape buy some high chairs and make sure your expo does a once over quality check on the food and time it takes to get to the table EVEN if that means stepping in and doing it yourself. The restaurant is dark the tables are sticky the whole place is very compact . Perfect and quite attractive after 5-6 wines for sure. I'm sure the food is outstanding after a few drinks as well . They gave us a $25 dollar gift card to return which if I could I'd give to the owner so he could experience the same horrible food and service we did. I wouldn't even give the gift card to someone I hated. This was one of the first times in a long time I didn't just let it slide because I understand all restaurants and people have bad days but this was exceptionally bad. If you are thinking it can't be that bad think again it absolutely can. The whole "I'm sorry we usually have awesome service and everyone loves our food it's probably just me and my family " is laughable . This isn't my first time here while visiting El Paso. The food is getting worse.

The staff was incredibly accommodating, and our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and so helpful with recommendations. The amuse-bouche of watermelon with Tajín-style seasoning was a refreshing and thoughtful start. The wedge salad was the standout of the night, generously portioned, perfect for sharing, and absolutely delicious. The pesto spaghetti was equally impressive, with a beautifully balanced sauce that wasn't overpowering. I ordered the miso black cod, which was cooked perfectly and beautifully flaky. While it leaned a bit salty for my taste, the quality of the dish still stood out. The ambiance is dark and intimate, perfect for an upscale dinner, and the iPad menus were a helpful modern touch. Overall, the exceptional hospitality and standout dishes made this a wonderful dining experience, especially after a long travel day. I would absolutely return.

We also ordered the Foie Gras, let me say I love a nice seared foie gras, this was not that at all. It was more of a pate, and was ok. The table had previously ordered the oysters while we were drinking at the Dome and all I heard was that they tasted off. We placed our main plates @ 7 pm, I and a few others ordered the ribeye, it was not worth the $86 a plate. Our food came an hour and a half later, we were all ready to leave. Mind you the only other table that was there when we ordered was a two top and a three top that had received their food already. The ribeyes were cold some over cooked, some under cooked and it was just not good. I can cut my own steaks from Sam's and have a better meal. She got our drink orders wrong and delivered them to the wrong guests. We had to play the matching game by sipping each other's drinks. And she never came by to refill. We had to ask. It took forever for us to order our food. And our food didn't get to us until almost an entire hour after ordering. Ummm that was horrible. We were sitting for almost two hours before food got to us. Two of our orders of steaks were ordered as medium-rare, and our steaks were dry AF. I told the waitress that we wanted a new steak, and she brought back the steak while flashing a flashlight over it to defend her cook, saying it is medium-rare and to look at it again. Never have I ever experienced a flashlight being used over our food to prove a non-valid point. At this point, I was so freakin hungry that I did not want to argue, and so I ate the dry steak. I was finna get the 6oz sirloin, which I have before and it's nice. Then I saw the 8oz Helen breast anyway you want it. Mmm I think I'll get that instead. Then I'm scanning on down the list and see 8 oz chopped round. With mushroom gravy. I can't do potatoes right now but I could do rice. And add a salad bar and some steamed broccoli, still only be about $21 and that's with the ice tea. And fresh baked bread and butter at the table. So I ordered that with gravy in the rice, cuz I likes gravy on it ALL, and I did add the Broccoli for $3.95 and a salad bar for $4.95. But she let me hold putting in the order so I could get most is the salad are before they started it. So I get it fresh, not sitting on my table for 20 minutes getting cold like last time I came when I barely got back to the table with the salad and they brought my steak out. The cook FAST here. Salad bar here is IMMENSE. And so many choices for salad, Romain, mixed greens or spinach, tons of toppings and at least 10 different kinds of dressings. At least 6 different what I call "prepared" salads like macaroni, potato, carrot, pea salad, beets and onion salad, some kind of angel hair with green online and bell peppers on olive oil and black pepper and a dash of vinegar? It's so good when they have it. Two soups always, today was tortilla and vegetable, which upon inspection looked more like a creamy potato with carrots and other veggies and diced potatoes of course, maybe they just had not changed it's name plate. I make a wonderful salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. Love chilled plates. When my lunch/dinner came it was on a huge round plate, the ground round was suspiciously SMALL. I used to work in a cafeteria and we sold 8oz chipped steaks and they were rice the size of what was in my plate. It actually really looked more like a hamburger patty. It would have fit perfectly on a small hamburger bun. If I had to guess I'd say head it's 1/3rd pound burger. Which is a tic over 5 oz. Not 8 ounces. The brucellosis was a large serving and bright green, and almost still raw. I could not cut it with a fork. I had to used a steak knife. I should have asked that it be steamed fork tender. That's on me, I guess. I just don't like "steamed" broccoli that still could pass as salad bar accoutrement. There was no gravy in the rice, even thought I expressly asked for gravy in the meat and rice. So as she sat the plate in front of me and asked if I needed any this else I said "gravy" and she said oh that's right it was supposed to be on the rice, I'll get some gravy. And a minute or so later another smiling lady brought me small bowl of gravy. The sweet tea was perfect. I even had a refill on that. The ground steak was cooked nicely, juicy and hot, the mushroom gravy was very flavorful and the rice pilaf was a perfect companion to it. I forgot to take pics, sorry, I just dug right in. This is still a great early dinner price and great choices. I'm definitely gonna get the 8 ounce chicken breast your way, next time. But which way shall I choose??? Decisions, decision!

We ordered a ribeye, but it unfortunately came out pretty cold. We let our server know and he did take it back so the kitchen could warm it up, which we appreciated. The table bread that came out was also on the dry side and not very impressive. The spicy margarita ended up being one of the better parts of the meal. It wasn't actually on the menu, but they made one for us and it was really good. We also ordered fries, which were solid, and the bone marrow (called "Mexican butter") was easily the highlight! It sauce that it came with! 10/10 It was rich, flavorful, and definitely the best thing we tried. ‼One quick heads-up for anyone visiting: there's a nail sticking out of the handrail going down the stairs to the bathroom, so just be careful grabbing the railing on the way down.‼ Overall, there were a couple good items, but the experience felt a little underwhelming compared to the expectations from the reviews. Maybe it was just an off night.
