    Cowgirl with baked potato
    Eddie G.

Celebrating a birthday dinner on Wednesday evening. Arrived just as cattlemen's was opening for the night. Party of 6 we were seated rather quickly and got to sit in the back room and enjoyed the sunset. I ordered the cowgirl with a loaded baked potato. The wait wasn't long and the food arrived shortly. I order my steak medium cause I like a juicy pink center. I wasn't disappointed my meat was cooked to perfection. Meal came with the complementary beans and coleslaw which is delish. I finished it all and damn I'm craving it again as I writes this..

This place is awesome. Definitely an experience worth taking while in El Paso. Amazing food. Great service. Abel wins best server award hands down.

Cattleman's Steakhouse isn't just a restaurant--it's a full-blown Texas experience. We visited for the first time with local family who go about once a year, and honestly, we couldn't believe they'd never brought us before! We came with a large party of 23, and our server handled it like a pro--attentive, accommodating, and efficient. It made a huge difference in our overall experience. As you'd expect, we ordered a ton of food. My daughter had the baked potato and pineapple coleslaw, which she loved. I went for the surf and turf, but honestly wish I'd gone all in on the Cowboy steak or large filet mignon--because this place shines when it comes to steaks. Cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, the meat was clearly the star of the show. The sides didn't disappoint either--from the spicy ranch beans my son devoured, to the herbed butter corn, mushrooms, and dinner rolls. A couple of my cousins tried the Flintstone-style beef ribs and gave them a big thumbs-up. To end the meal, we shared the pecan pie à la mode, which was a standout dessert. Needless to say, almost everyone left with leftovers. The ambience is casual and welcoming--shorts and t-shirts totally fine--and the ranch setting is incredible. There's a mini-zoo with ostriches, peacocks, goats, rabbits, buffalo, and more, plus a stunning lakeside view that really lights up at sunset. The kids loved the animals and gift shop, and the peaceful vibe made the whole evening feel special. For the tasty food, generous portions, family-friendly atmosphere, and unforgettable setting, Cattleman's is absolutely worth the drive. We'll definitely be back.

The ribeye steak was amazing, and the lobster with the butter-yum!! It came with a side of beans for the table, wow! They were soooo seasoned! I'd definitely visit again!!

Beautiful place ! the drive to this place at night beautiful !! The history inside amazing ! Service top knotch ! Server went beyond checked in us frequently made sure we were good gave us some good appetizers ideas since it was our first time, explained their menu nicely answered questions as well. We had the brisket appetizers, I eat very small so had the shrimp appetizers cocktail loved the sauce so much flavor, fillet mignon did not disappoint so delicious and my favorite the coleslaw has some pineapples like waaat! Pinnaple on pizza or pinnaple on coleslaw so Goood! The butter was so good, didn't like the bread too much but overall the food was the best! I can't have much of it the bread anyway. They have restrooms , day time they have activities, very historical images inside very well presented. They do not have reservations it is first come first serve. Valentine's Day will be busy

This place was a little bit of a drive for us on our vacation. I was a little hesitant if it was the correct place for us to go for dinner. Once we arrive, we was able to see how amazing the working branch was, and that the restaurant was exactly as pictured. The things to look on the inside while you wait was cool to see. We had excellent service and I recommend Able if you want an absolutely amazing server. We loved our steak and the sides were really good. We would definitely return here on another visit. The outside with the animals was definitely the favorite part of my kids. They loved being able to feed all of the animals. Sidenote, be sure and bring some change to buy your animal feed outside. Great pick for adults and kids

The food was cooked well, I love that they don't do reservations so you don't need to worry about not getting a table. The vibes were great, the drive in was an experience in itself.

The area is huge and pretty cool to look at but unfortunately that's the only good thing I can say about this place. Food is super bland. They don't season anything they serve! The steaks they serve are full of fat and you barely actually get any good quality meat. Their baked potatoes are severely underbaked and no wonder the "side" is all you can eat. Cheap unseasoned food. I'd recommend trying it once for the experience but that's about it. The food isn't worth the price.

I've never been to a ranch before, but I'm glad my first time was Cattleman's. As our family waited to be seated, we went to the back to see and feed the ranch animals. The ranch has an ostrich, rabbits, goats, horses, sheep, peacocks, and buffalo. We were able to feed the goats and rabbits for a quarter. There's also a lakeside view that is stunning during sunset and you can see the geese on the water/flying as night falls. After an hour of waiting, our party of 14 was seated. The interior of the ranch really made you feel like you were in a cabin in the rural countryside, but a nice and cozy cabin and not a wild west saloon. The waiter had a heavy but jolly Southern accent and took care of us for the night. The food was served in large portions, with ginormous ribs, steaks, and sides. Bread, butter, coleslaw and baked beans are refillable throughout the night so my partner and I opted for a 14 oz ribeye with corn on the cob and beef brisket and ribs with curly fries so we wouldn't get full too fast. The ribeye, which I got medium rare, was well seasoned and super tender. The beef brisket and ribs were also tasty and had a smoky flavor paired with tasty barbecue sauce. The piña colada we ordered, initially a little sweet, was great when paired with the savory food. For the tasty food, large portions, and mini zoo, the experience was worth the money. My only regret was not trying their dessert (darn these big Texas portions!).

2nd time here. Amazing restaurant/museum/ western style food . Very big portions. Rib eye is excellent. Bbq beans and pineapple coleslaw are very tasty. Our Waitresses were both very awesome. Very busy usually so go early and stay late. Very laid back environment for how big of a restaurant this is.

When I found out I was going to El Paso for the first time (for a work trip), it was unanimous from my coworkers that Cattleman's was a must. I'm a big steak guy and knowing that this was a restaurant on an actual ranch intrigued me. I was concerned since it was a bit of a drive but it was well worth it. This restaurant is obviously older with a lot of history, the zoo was a surprise, and the food was fantastic. There's a lot to see when you get there. Once you get seated and your food ordered, you can walk around the restaurant and see the historic memorabilia at the front, the movie memorabilia in the back of all the famous films that were filmed there, or go out on the back deck and check out the beautiful scenery. After dinner, be sure to check all the animals. The steakhouse reminds me of a steakhouse back outside of Nashville. It's old school and the menu even has the same font. Obviously in Texas, you go big and because my favorite food is steak, I went for the biggest, The Cowboy (a 2lb T-Bone) with a baked potato and mushrooms. The coleslaw, beans, and bread were complimentary. The steak was great, cooked to a perfect medium rare with light seasoning. Although it's not the best steak I've had (it needed a bit more salt), it hit the spot of what I was craving and I ate the entire thing. The baked potato came plain and came with butter and sour cream. The mushrooms were interesting... They were sweet but the waitress told me they would be. Very unique twist! The coleslaw also had a unique twist, it had pineapple chunks in it. I think this is a Texas thing because other Texas restaurants I visited had the same thing. Finally the baked beans were interesting as well. It tasted more like chili due to the cumin seasoning added to it. I ate everything you saw in my pictures. It was quite a bit of food and the zoo/ranch was a perfect opportunity to walk it off. There's plenty to see here and it really is an iconic destination. I would definitely return again!

We've been talking about coming to Cattleman's for years and we finally did it! The ranch is literally off the beaten path and it had us wondering if we were going in the right direction, but before you knew it, we saw it peeking from the horizon. We arrived as soon as they opened and many others had the same idea. The property itself is old school and rustic - so Texas. We were seated promptly in one of the many rooms. Steaks were epic, cooked well and definitely left no room for dessert. After dinner, we walked around the ranch, saw lots of animals, went through the maze and watched the kids enjoy the large playground. Awesome food, service, and scenery. Couldn't ask for more!

Cattleman's Steakhouse at Indian Cliffs Ranch Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Cattleman's Steakhouse at Indian Cliffs Ranch

    Does it have outdoor dining?

I have only been once, in Jan 2022. They had no outdoor dining. Tables were, however, well-spaced and servers were masked.

Does anyone know if the zoo and other things to do open before the restaurant?

    Yes, thirty minutes prior

    Is this establishment BYOB?

No. They offer a full service bar.

Is there any dog friendly seating available? We will be traveling with our puppy but would love to stop here if so.…

Unfortunately I don't think it's Pet a pet friendly restaurant. There is outdoor seating, call ahead to find out, maybe they are willing to help out.

Is there a kids menu? I personally couldn't find one.. wondering if someone whos gone with kids has seen a kids menu?

There is several things kids can see and do such as a hayride and movie set etc. As to the kids menu to include to the answer above I think there are chicken nuggets and small kabobs. Kids would enjoy going.

Do they serve any alcoholic drinks here? Thanks

Yes, they have a cocktail lounge and a full liquor license.

As we were seated our waiter took 10 min to great us and then another 12 min to bring our drinks. I didn't think anything of it yet it was a precursor to the rest of our dinner. After he took our order our kids food came out in a very timely fashion but our two orders of salmon and one steak sandwich took 40 min to arrive at the table. What a ridiculous waste of my time because my sandwich was missing the fries ordered and our waiter thought nothing of it till I brought it up then he took another 10 min to bring my fries. All this while simultaneously forgetting the sauce for the salmon which also took another 10 min to bring out. The salmon was so dry it was tacky and stuck to your teeth. If you know the feeling you know it's bad. The rice that came underneath the salmon was crunchy and way undercooked. All while the waiter was like oh I can bring you free deserts for your wait all while I could only think about how I just wanted to leave. I was internally livid and exhausted but kept it to my self after seeing the owner or manager who we the guy with the white hair over at the bar enjoying a few alcoholic beverages meanwhile his restaurants service and waitstaff to the worst possible job they can. I saw the people who got the most attention and good service were all regulars sitting at the bar laughing it up with the manager/owner older guy. Why not make sure your restaurant is running smoothly and food is being delivered and prepared properly and stop trying to impress the regulars who most likely will show up either way. Any restaurant that is this unorganized and unmotivated is due to crappy management. All this and the waiter is like I'll comp you for the steak sandwich with a discount for the bad service and salmon which was a whopping $5. I don't want a discount I don't want free day old desserts I want good service and decent food. Discounts and free desserts will never fix the problem because it will always be a crutch for trashy customer service. How about stop drinking with the guests and whoop that staff into semi decent shape buy some high chairs and make sure your expo does a once over quality check on the food and time it takes to get to the table EVEN if that means stepping in and doing it yourself. The restaurant is dark the tables are sticky the whole place is very compact . Perfect and quite attractive after 5-6 wines for sure. I'm sure the food is outstanding after a few drinks as well . They gave us a $25 dollar gift card to return which if I could I'd give to the owner so he could experience the same horrible food and service we did. I wouldn't even give the gift card to someone I hated. This was one of the first times in a long time I didn't just let it slide because I understand all restaurants and people have bad days but this was exceptionally bad. If you are thinking it can't be that bad think again it absolutely can. The whole "I'm sorry we usually have awesome service and everyone loves our food it's probably just me and my family " is laughable . This isn't my first time here while visiting El Paso. The food is getting worse.

I won't be slapping my mother but I will call her later this evening , to sing the praises of this excellent piece of meat. Particularly the char. It is the best I have ever had. If this placed served a dish that consisted of nothing but the end pieces (where they hug the bone) I would have to consider moving here. That char was perfectly blackened & bursting with flavor. The baked potato (which was backed in an oven & NOT microwaved) was very good also. The Alex's Philly Cheesecake was not as good as the steak but it got the job done. I sat at the bar so the service was immediate but the unsweetened tea tasted like I was the second person who drank some all day. My parents each had the tacos de pulpo, I got the Maracuya Ceviche- again beautiful presentation & taste.. as we started eating, we had another visitor- the woman from the from desk, this time saying she was leaving, and she had the nerve to tell me to not stress out & enjoy, proceeded to mention everything about the reservations, tables etc. It was annoying. I told her- that's an internal restaurant issue, i dont work here, I am a customer. I dont even know why they kept burdening me with all their internal issues. I will say nobody had the courtesy to apologize. Not one person said- sorry for the inconvenience. All i wanted was to have a nice dinner with my parents & AMAR's staff made sure to made it uncomfortable and rude. Where do you hire your staff? Exception: Max the waiter, he did a good job, was pleasant Resumen en Espanol: Jamas en la vida nos habian dicho que comamos rapido por que necesitan la mesa para otra reserva. Increible.
