The food is savory and delicious. The restaurant decor gives the impression of a nice westerner steakhouse. The food is the star of the show. Simple menu with simple ingredients gives a hearty flavors. The service is good. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the menu options.

This was our go to "show off Texas to visitors" restaurant for 40 years, but I think we'll go to Chicos Tacos now instead. It used to be an adventure: part mini theme park with hay rides, animals, artifacts, play structures for the kids, movie sets etc all Served up with a nice steak and all the fixings. The "rib eyes" we had were less than 1/2" thick and had no marbling. I think they were bought off one of those trucks with "ribeyes for $10" parked on the side of the road. A rib should fall off the bone, these had to be cut off. The interior is dated and dusty, the extremely over priced menu hasn't changed in decades. There is no point in bringing a vegetarian let alone a vegan (would it be too much trouble to make some BBQ onion and pepper kabobs?)? The staff are friendly and the service is quick.

Our experience at Cattleman's was awesome! We had so much fun! Our servers, Adalia and Julius, were attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire meal. Julius mentioned that he has worked at Cattleman's for five years, and I really appreciate seeing a business that retains its employees. Hopefully that's a reflection of how well they treat their staff, because the service we received was outstanding. Employees like Adalia and Julius are what truly make a restaurant memorable. The food was just as impressive as the service. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, and Julius recommended ordering the herbed butter and the Tampiqueña topping on the side. I am so grateful he suggested that because it was absolutely delicious and the perfect complement to the steak. He also helped several people in our group choose their meals, and every single recommendation was spot on. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu, but I also don't think I would have enjoyed my meal nearly as much without his thoughtful suggestions. Every side dish was excellent, from the baked potatoes, corn, beans, coleslaw, and fresh bread to the incredible desserts that finished off the meal perfectly. Beyond the amazing food and exceptional service, we loved the atmosphere of the ranch. The views were beautiful, I had a blast feeding the animals, and seeing the film history added such a unique touch to the experience. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience in every way. Great food, outstanding service, beautiful surroundings, and a fun atmosphere. If you're visiting the area, Cattleman's is an absolute must-visit!

Celebrating a birthday dinner on Wednesday evening. Arrived just as cattlemen's was opening for the night. Party of 6 we were seated rather quickly and got to sit in the back room and enjoyed the sunset. I ordered the cowgirl with a loaded baked potato. The wait wasn't long and the food arrived shortly. I order my steak medium cause I like a juicy pink center. I wasn't disappointed my meat was cooked to perfection. Meal came with the complementary beans and coleslaw which is delish. I finished it all and damn I'm craving it again as I writes this..

Cattleman's Steakhouse isn't just a restaurant--it's a full-blown Texas experience. We visited for the first time with local family who go about once a year, and honestly, we couldn't believe they'd never brought us before! We came with a large party of 23, and our server handled it like a pro--attentive, accommodating, and efficient. It made a huge difference in our overall experience. As you'd expect, we ordered a ton of food. My daughter had the baked potato and pineapple coleslaw, which she loved. I went for the surf and turf, but honestly wish I'd gone all in on the Cowboy steak or large filet mignon--because this place shines when it comes to steaks. Cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, the meat was clearly the star of the show. The sides didn't disappoint either--from the spicy ranch beans my son devoured, to the herbed butter corn, mushrooms, and dinner rolls. A couple of my cousins tried the Flintstone-style beef ribs and gave them a big thumbs-up. To end the meal, we shared the pecan pie à la mode, which was a standout dessert. Needless to say, almost everyone left with leftovers. The ambience is casual and welcoming--shorts and t-shirts totally fine--and the ranch setting is incredible. There's a mini-zoo with ostriches, peacocks, goats, rabbits, buffalo, and more, plus a stunning lakeside view that really lights up at sunset. The kids loved the animals and gift shop, and the peaceful vibe made the whole evening feel special. For the tasty food, generous portions, family-friendly atmosphere, and unforgettable setting, Cattleman's is absolutely worth the drive. We'll definitely be back.

This place is awesome. Definitely an experience worth taking while in El Paso. Amazing food. Great service. Abel wins best server award hands down.

The ribeye steak was amazing, and the lobster with the butter-yum!! It came with a side of beans for the table, wow! They were soooo seasoned! I'd definitely visit again!!

Beautiful place ! the drive to this place at night beautiful !! The history inside amazing ! Service top knotch ! Server went beyond checked in us frequently made sure we were good gave us some good appetizers ideas since it was our first time, explained their menu nicely answered questions as well. We had the brisket appetizers, I eat very small so had the shrimp appetizers cocktail loved the sauce so much flavor, fillet mignon did not disappoint so delicious and my favorite the coleslaw has some pineapples like waaat! Pinnaple on pizza or pinnaple on coleslaw so Goood! The butter was so good, didn't like the bread too much but overall the food was the best! I can't have much of it the bread anyway. They have restrooms , day time they have activities, very historical images inside very well presented. They do not have reservations it is first come first serve. Valentine's Day will be busy

The area is huge and pretty cool to look at but unfortunately that's the only good thing I can say about this place. Food is super bland. They don't season anything they serve! The steaks they serve are full of fat and you barely actually get any good quality meat. Their baked potatoes are severely underbaked and no wonder the "side" is all you can eat. Cheap unseasoned food. I'd recommend trying it once for the experience but that's about it. The food isn't worth the price.

I've never been to a ranch before, but I'm glad my first time was Cattleman's. As our family waited to be seated, we went to the back to see and feed the ranch animals. The ranch has an ostrich, rabbits, goats, horses, sheep, peacocks, and buffalo. We were able to feed the goats and rabbits for a quarter. There's also a lakeside view that is stunning during sunset and you can see the geese on the water/flying as night falls. After an hour of waiting, our party of 14 was seated. The interior of the ranch really made you feel like you were in a cabin in the rural countryside, but a nice and cozy cabin and not a wild west saloon. The waiter had a heavy but jolly Southern accent and took care of us for the night. The food was served in large portions, with ginormous ribs, steaks, and sides. Bread, butter, coleslaw and baked beans are refillable throughout the night so my partner and I opted for a 14 oz ribeye with corn on the cob and beef brisket and ribs with curly fries so we wouldn't get full too fast. The ribeye, which I got medium rare, was well seasoned and super tender. The beef brisket and ribs were also tasty and had a smoky flavor paired with tasty barbecue sauce. The piña colada we ordered, initially a little sweet, was great when paired with the savory food. For the tasty food, large portions, and mini zoo, the experience was worth the money. My only regret was not trying their dessert (darn these big Texas portions!).

This place was a little bit of a drive for us on our vacation. I was a little hesitant if it was the correct place for us to go for dinner. Once we arrive, we was able to see how amazing the working branch was, and that the restaurant was exactly as pictured. The things to look on the inside while you wait was cool to see. We had excellent service and I recommend Able if you want an absolutely amazing server. We loved our steak and the sides were really good. We would definitely return here on another visit. The outside with the animals was definitely the favorite part of my kids. They loved being able to feed all of the animals. Sidenote, be sure and bring some change to buy your animal feed outside. Great pick for adults and kids

10 oz New York Strip with a Loaded Baked Potato

The food was cooked well, I love that they don't do reservations so you don't need to worry about not getting a table. The vibes were great, the drive in was an experience in itself.

Ask the Community - Cattleman's Steakhouse at Indian Cliffs Ranch

    Does it have outdoor dining?

I have only been once, in Jan 2022. They had no outdoor dining. Tables were, however, well-spaced and servers were masked.

Does anyone know if the zoo and other things to do open before the restaurant?

    Yes, thirty minutes prior

    Is this establishment BYOB?

No. They offer a full service bar.

Is there any dog friendly seating available? We will be traveling with our puppy but would love to stop here if so.…

Unfortunately I don't think it's Pet a pet friendly restaurant. There is outdoor seating, call ahead to find out, maybe they are willing to help out.

Is there a kids menu? I personally couldn't find one.. wondering if someone whos gone with kids has seen a kids menu?

There is several things kids can see and do such as a hayride and movie set etc. As to the kids menu to include to the answer above I think there are chicken nuggets and small kabobs. Kids would enjoy going.

Do they serve any alcoholic drinks here? Thanks

Yes, they have a cocktail lounge and a full liquor license.

As we were seated our waiter took 10 min to great us and then another 12 min to bring our drinks. I didn't think anything of it yet it was a precursor to the rest of our dinner. After he took our order our kids food came out in a very timely fashion but our two orders of salmon and one steak sandwich took 40 min to arrive at the table. What a ridiculous waste of my time because my sandwich was missing the fries ordered and our waiter thought nothing of it till I brought it up then he took another 10 min to bring my fries. All this while simultaneously forgetting the sauce for the salmon which also took another 10 min to bring out. The salmon was so dry it was tacky and stuck to your teeth. If you know the feeling you know it's bad. The rice that came underneath the salmon was crunchy and way undercooked. All while the waiter was like oh I can bring you free deserts for your wait all while I could only think about how I just wanted to leave. I was internally livid and exhausted but kept it to my self after seeing the owner or manager who we the guy with the white hair over at the bar enjoying a few alcoholic beverages meanwhile his restaurants service and waitstaff to the worst possible job they can. I saw the people who got the most attention and good service were all regulars sitting at the bar laughing it up with the manager/owner older guy. Why not make sure your restaurant is running smoothly and food is being delivered and prepared properly and stop trying to impress the regulars who most likely will show up either way. Any restaurant that is this unorganized and unmotivated is due to crappy management. All this and the waiter is like I'll comp you for the steak sandwich with a discount for the bad service and salmon which was a whopping $5. I don't want a discount I don't want free day old desserts I want good service and decent food. Discounts and free desserts will never fix the problem because it will always be a crutch for trashy customer service. How about stop drinking with the guests and whoop that staff into semi decent shape buy some high chairs and make sure your expo does a once over quality check on the food and time it takes to get to the table EVEN if that means stepping in and doing it yourself. The restaurant is dark the tables are sticky the whole place is very compact . Perfect and quite attractive after 5-6 wines for sure. I'm sure the food is outstanding after a few drinks as well . They gave us a $25 dollar gift card to return which if I could I'd give to the owner so he could experience the same horrible food and service we did. I wouldn't even give the gift card to someone I hated. This was one of the first times in a long time I didn't just let it slide because I understand all restaurants and people have bad days but this was exceptionally bad. If you are thinking it can't be that bad think again it absolutely can. The whole "I'm sorry we usually have awesome service and everyone loves our food it's probably just me and my family " is laughable . This isn't my first time here while visiting El Paso. The food is getting worse.

The wedge salad was the standout of the night, generously portioned, perfect for sharing, and absolutely delicious. The pesto spaghetti was equally impressive, with a beautifully balanced sauce that wasn't overpowering. I ordered the miso black cod, which was cooked perfectly and beautifully flaky. While it leaned a bit salty for my taste, the quality of the dish still stood out. The ambiance is dark and intimate, perfect for an upscale dinner, and the iPad menus were a helpful modern touch. My mom made a reservation for 3 people, June 19th, 2026. Upon arrival, staff advised our table was occupied by other patrons, & would have to find another table. They proceeded to sit us at a table meant for 2. We did not fit comfortably, and plenty of other tables seemed available. I approached front desk and requested a change of table. The staff (3 women) proceeded to explain me about their reservations, table availability, restaurant occupancy, table #'s, etc. They were not polite, were flustered & stressed out. They were checking but stated it was not possible, I basically had to beg, to be moved to another table. it worked, and we got moved. This took about 10-15 minutes. it really was a hassle... I was ready to walk out...How could you start your dinning experience like this? Anyway, we ordered drinks, appetizers & main course, as soon as we got the 1st appetizer, a an employee came to the table she told us: They have other reservations, & need our table, and we need to rush so they can take care of their reservations. I could not believe her. By the way, no other patrons were getting rushed out, just us. This woman really ruined the mood. Ive never been told to eat quickly because there are other reservations in need of my table. I told her- to go ask other patrons for their table, and to STOP disturbing us. she walked away.. on to the food review: I got the Jamaica Mezcalita- it really was great tasting & a beautiful presentation in a coupe glass, nicely garnished. Highly recommended- or not? (the waitress told me to rush & get out?? Mezcal is meant to be zipped..) My mom had the mandarin mezcal drink- beautiful presentation, she loved it. See pictures. Appetizers: we had the Jalea de mariscos & tuna nikei. Beautiful presentation & delicious- ( but did we enjoy it? not really, were told to rush.) My parents each had the tacos de pulpo, I got the Maracuya Ceviche- again beautiful presentation & taste.. as we started eating, we had another visitor- the woman from the from desk, this time saying she was leaving, and she had the nerve to tell me to not stress out & enjoy, proceeded to mention everything about the reservations, tables etc. It was annoying. I told her- that's an internal restaurant issue, i dont work here, I am a customer. I dont even know why they kept burdening me with all their internal issues. I will say nobody had the courtesy to apologize. Not one person said- sorry for the inconvenience. All i wanted was to have a nice dinner with my parents & AMAR's staff made sure to made it uncomfortable and rude. Where do you hire your staff? Exception: Max the waiter, he did a good job, was pleasant Resumen en Espanol: Jamas en la vida nos habian dicho que comamos rapido por que necesitan la mesa para otra reserva. Increible.
