Service was exceptional! Food was 50/50 Knives our a bit dull I got Prime Rib it came out looking medium rare without the moisture(dryer than my beer on a Friday night) you had to trim off all the gristle which left you a medium to small looking fillet. Wife got bbq chicken & sirloin: Her chicken was definitely smothered in bbq so much-she felt like she was really only eating bbq sauce. Blooming onion was 20/80 It was over battered and uncooked Our waiter Sham was on point though and made the best of things! I get not every restaurant is perfect! But, you have your name plastered on the front door as if it's good luck. The owner himself was cool as hell! Side note: If your ever in Joliet Illinois try there Texas Roadhouse (I worked out there for 2 months and had prime rib every other night) that was the best Prime I ever had

Any business that would comp a dogs last dinner and put such compassion and care shows that the people who manage and work there care.

The building and dining rooms are still inviting and comfortable. The restaurant is located in a remote area on the far side of a one lane covered bridge. The menu dishes have a formal presentation. The food is good, but not outstanding. The Log Cabin is an appropriate location for a milestone birthday or similar celebration. The service is attentive.

The hostesses were very apologetic however (apparently the party before us was taking an incredibly long time), and both they offered to seat us either outside or at a high-top table and gave us complimentary prosecco, so I don't fault them for this. The main entrance to the place is pretty cool, as it really highlights the rustic vibe and there was a waiting area that had a 3-person band playing classical music when we came. However, other than this room the fact that the place is a restored log cabin isn't really apparent. The food was all very average. We came here on my birthday weekend, and they had a small folded paper on the table saying "happy birthday" (that they must reuse because the inside said "happy anniversary") and their was a small baggie of chocolates. It seemed like almost everyone there was celebrating something, as I saw these on most of the tables

They have expanded their store and menu and have a lot of options like pretzel logs, ice cream and chocolate covered soft pretzels. They carry a few other local food items as well. If you're in the area, be sure to check it out! We decided to have lunch and ordered a couple pretzel sandwiches. Mine was called a Dutchman, which had ham and cheese and a creamy sauce made of brown sugar and mustard. My wife ordered an Italian sausage pretzel sandwich that she devoured. We of course had to try a plain soft pretzel too. The market sold a lot of touristy Amish stuff like maple syrup, soft pretzel mix, bacon dressing, and empty pretzel casings for hot dogs (pretzel dogs). Probably the only reason we didn't give 5 stars is because of its rustic bathroom. It's a single porta-potty that sits outside the store. Better than inside the store I suppose, but eww! No sink to wash your hands, just hand sanitizer. So be forewarned; take care of your private business somewhere else before dropping by.

Your Friday just got better. If you are visiting Lancaster for the weekend (or day), the Farmer's…read moreMarket is conveniently nearby. Plan accordingly since these sellers only gather on Friday. The items for sale include home made goods, fresh produce, meats, jams, toiletries, furniture, souvenirs, electronic gadgets and items you didn't know you needed (wanted). The layout of the grounds are listed on the website. I like parking by building six. Most of my "wish list" vendors were clustered in or near the building. It is easier to keep track of where we parked too. Allow extra time to carefully drive around the area. Shoppers are focused on moving to their destination and not always paying attention to safely walking. Wear comfortable shoes. You will be walking on hard floors inside the buildings and uneven terrain outside (gravel, grass, dirt). Bring several shopping bags. Not all of the sellers take credit cards. Cash is preferred. Bring small bills. Some businesses will negotiate prices if you are buying several items. Food is everywhere. Many places allow sampling. The home made cheeses are incredible. The popular stations are going to have a line. The lines move quickly. Pretzels are the reason we chose to visit. I enjoyed watching the entire creating process. Bring zip lock bags. Those wax bags get soggy after walking around. Make sure you eat one after it was made to savor the flavor. Try mustard and cheese dip to get the full pretzel experience. There are tables throughout the property. The donuts are magazine worthy. We got a half dozen ($9 ish dollars). You might want to bring hand wipes to use after enjoying a yummy sweet treat. Pay attention to where you parked. There is a good chance you will need to unload bags in your car and start the shopping process over. Hubby had a belt measured and made for him. It was interesting to watch the holes being put in. There were dozens of styles and varied materials. This was a fun (and exhausting) experience. I love Avon purchases in person where I am walking away with products in hand and not waiting for a delivery. Lapp ice cream is a must. There isn't a limit on sampling. There is something for everyone. Since we had lots of activities planned for the weekend, I researched the stores and layout of the area to make the best of my time. The items inside a building or store are more quality than some of the products spread out on tables outside. It is also convenient sitting inside to grab a bite. I hope to return sometime.
