Service was exceptional! Food was 50/50 Knives our a bit dull I got Prime Rib it came out looking medium rare without the moisture(dryer than my beer on a Friday night) you had to trim off all the gristle which left you a medium to small looking fillet. Wife got bbq chicken & sirloin: Her chicken was definitely smothered in bbq so much-she felt like she was really only eating bbq sauce. Blooming onion was 20/80 It was over battered and uncooked Our waiter Sham was on point though and made the best of things! I get not every restaurant is perfect! But, you have your name plastered on the front door as if it's good luck. The owner himself was cool as hell! Side note: If your ever in Joliet Illinois try there Texas Roadhouse (I worked out there for 2 months and had prime rib every other night) that was the best Prime I ever had

Went here for my husband's Birthday meal. I got the prime rib, green beans and a sweet potato. Husband got Mac and cheese, baked potato, and ribs. We got mozzarella twists for our app. My food and our appetizers were great, as were our server. The beer was cold , as were my husband's ribs! We told our server, she took the ribs back, and they came back, cold again. He just said to bring us to go boxes.

We were wonderfully greeted and the hostess spent the perfect amount of time chatting with us after seating us at an intimate table inside. I was glad I had perused the menu beforehand, so I wasn't shocked at the prices. However, as mentioned, it was a celebratory dinner. I had picked the duck (more on that later), but may have switched to a steak had it not been for the $$$. We ordered the following appetizers/starters: tuna carpaccio, house salad, bone marrow and house selection of bread. All of these were the highlights of the meal! The tuna was thinly sliced, great flavor with the cucumber and the perfect amount of 'dressing'. The house salad was also delicious - wonderful combination of flavors. I was worried about the strawberry dressing (served on the side), but was the perfect balance of sweet and vinegar. The bone marrow was also delicious- we should have gotten one each as we were both scraping the bone for every last morsel. The bread deserves its own paragraph. I will preface by saying I have tried to be gluten free for the past eight months and not eaten any bread. I melted into my seat with every bite of bread. There was a selection of pretzel bread, my first choice. Eaten with a small amount of butter, I thought, thank goodness I tried this first, it will be easy to say no to the other bread. Wrong. The focaccia with herbed olive oil was even better! Had the same thought again - well, at least I will be able to pass on the other slices. Nope. The sliced bread was even better. Although i could hear my mother scoffing at having to pay for bread, this was worth it. Unfortunately, this is where my enthusiasm wanes. My husband ordered the salmon and really enjoyed it. I tried a bite and also thought it was a good dish. I ordered the duck. The duck was cooked to my order (medium rare) and flavors were very good. Unfortunately, the mocha rub was more of a crust (encasement?), not a huge deal, but the duck itself was not tender and took a lot of chewing. Other Notes: The atmosphere was fantastic! The wine selection was excellent and provided a nice variety of prices per glass. Service was excellent. For dessert, I had a macchiato and the tiramisu; it was ok. I should have ordered one of the housemade desserts, but wanted something smaller. My husband ordered the cheesecake and wolfed it down (a good sign after such a large meal). Since we are from out of town and it was a one of a kind celebration, I can't say we will be back, but if money were not an issue, I would really enjoy coming here again and trying a different entree

The menu felt very contrived; why do I need fruit or pistachios in a pasta dish? Way too many ingredients in their dishes which made it very difficult to pick a meal. Again, very expensive; I'd say be prepared to spend $300 for a couple. Not worth the prices by a long shot but I guess there are so few fine dining options in the area, they can command it. I'd never return. Not a pleasant experience.

When we arrived at around 7:30PM on a Monday night, the creamery and cafe was bustling with a long line. We were able to sample a few flavors, and then settled on the tiramisu and shoofly pie. Both were excellent, and the prices were highly affordable. There were so many appealing flavors of ice cream, not to mention other dessert items. Besides the rich, creamy, and wonderfully satisfying ice cream, we appreciated that the overall establishment had ample seating and a fantastic playground for our young kids. My toddlers loved swinging and playing in the toy tractor structure until way past dark. Compared to other local creameries in the area, Fox Meadow has the benefit of being open until relatively late. It appears that Fox Meadow Creamery has really expanded its business and now sells wholesale at local grocery stores. That said, there are of course more options and a better experience at the creamery itself.

If I was the manager I would be bringing in large quantities of bottled water to make sure customers can get what they want. It was a Friday night, and the restaurant was practically empty. It was our table, one other table, and four people at the bar. That should have been the first red flag. The hostess was nice, but we stood there for 3-4 minutes while they figured out which server was getting cut. Once seated, I noticed employees standing around having personal conversations while there was food on the floor, dust on the window sills, and the restaurant just looked unkept despite being nearly empty. Our waitress was sweet, but service was slow. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest disappointment. It wasn't hot, wasn't presented well, and overall was just terrible. This Applebee's is a bust. I definitely do not recommend it.
