When we first arrive i noticed several diners at the patio with take oit containers. I mistakenly thought this signaled super casual fast food like establishment. I was wrong, when we got inside the restaurant it was a nicely decorated, comfortable lively with friendly service. The take containers are due to the fact the portions are huge! In my honest opinion, hands down the best restaurant in Sarnia. I highly recommend their variety of BBQ, selection of drinks and not to mention the friendly and efficient staff! Every time I order from this spot, it's nothing short of perfection! This has been my yearly birthday dinner for a couple years now that I ALWAYS look forward to. The service is good but the food quality is so-so. I certainly don't recommend the ribs. They're side ribs and they're not smoked; at least not in the traditional sense (burning the sauce on the stove produces smoke but that's not what they call smoking in the business). The fries are excellent and the chicken is decent. read more

This place is the only place that matters with this kind of food in Sarnia. I've been now a few times with my wife, and I swear every time the food gets better, and service too if possible. I went last night for Mother's Day with my family, and even my Mom said it was one of the best dining experiences she's had in Sarnia. Tall praise, considering how picky she is, haha. There wasn't a hungry person left in our group. Excellent food, cold drinks, great service (which was no small feat considering how busy it was!) My husband and I visited for the first time tonight. We had an overall good experience. Service was excellent and the decor was modern and eye catching. I had the chicken and ribs. I have to say I was skeptical about the ribs because of mixed reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. I was born and raised in South Texas, so I've had some pretty good ribs in my time. The ribs were tender and were just like ribs are supposed to be. No, they were not "fall off the bone." That just means they are over-cooked. They're ribs! You kind of have to work for your meat. And yes, they're gonna be messy. Don't go to a BBQ place if you're not willing to get a little sauce on your hands. Speaking of sauce, both the chicken and ribs had mouth watering sauce. The ribs were a smokey sauce, and the chicken was a chipotle honey flavor. The chicken was absolutely delish. It was juicy and tender. Both had just the right amount too. I can't stand my meat drenched in sauce. You can always add more, but you can't unsauce. The sides I chose were the warm potato salad and the gourmet baked beans. Both were a little different than expected. The potato salad had really good taste and seasoning, and was indeed served warm. The beans were more like a chilli consistency. Both were very hefty servings. My husband had the brisket sandwich with garlic aoli and fresh cut onion rings. The aoli was definitely the maker of the sandwich. The brisket was cooked just right, and the onion rings were thick cut and crispy. The only complaint I have is my Caesar was a bit watered down. The garnish was beautiful and I loved the rimming spice. I will eat here in the future for sure! read more

By far the best service and food I have had in Sarnia. We are just in town for my wife's b-day, went for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. My wife and I have eaten at Bains BBQ several times and are both amazed at the quality of the food. Ribs are TO DIE FOR, Brisket is fabulous and last night I tried the Bacon Wrapped Meat Loaf and I can honestly say that it was the best meatloaf ever. My wife and I had an amazing dinner at Bains a few weeks ago. The place was clean and welcoming, and walking in you could just smell deliciousness. She had a healthy portion of ribs and I had a pulled pork sandwich, and "the best coleslaw she's ever had." I loved this place so much I asked the owner, Brendan, to make a ton of food to cater the rehearsal dinner for my wedding. First time customers, party of 2. Only had to wait a few minutes for table to be ready and directed to bar to wait. Bartender didn't seem interested in serving us. Only 2 others at bar whom she was serving but failed to acknowledge our existence. Found the decor interesting and unique but didn't feel that having to look through a cloud of smoke as necessary ambiance for a BBQ joint. My alcoholic beverage seemed to be missing the alcohol, explanation - the glasses are big. Ordered appetizers to share but had to ask for plates. Side dishes were too large in comparison to the amount of meat offered which was pretty dry. Ribs came across as pre made and warmed with sauce to serve. Was looking for smoked slow cooked fall of the bone. Didn't come close. Eating at a BBQ place with sauce, which isn't easy to eat without a mess, but had to ask for napkins and wet naps of which we got 2. The final disappointment was the bill. We feel we paid double for what we got. Not on our list to visit again. read more

Kids took dad out for dinner and we thought we'd try brains. Awesome idea, greeted warmly at the door, seated immediately. Waitress was friendly, courteous and product knowledgeable. Drinks were timely and well done, appetizers were delicious and sized just right for a party of 4. Meals were huge and also delicious. Lacked for nothing except the room to finish the meal!! So not sure if you can post pictures... But if you could only see the shaved rubber tire that was my brisket... I give it one star because somehow after screwing up brisket and my fiancés rare steak...(came out medium-well) the sweet potato fries came out passable. And the music was decent. Terrible food.... And bbq is pretty hard to mess up. Hate to complain as a fellow waitress at another restaurant in town but seriously, and utterly disappointed. read more
