Although the wait time was long (put your name on the list, it was 1:45 min wait on a Saturday night for us!), it was worth it. We came here for a date night after my husband received a gift card from work. We ordered a couple plates and split all the food. When you walk in, you're greeted with warm bread right from the oven with a wonderful cinnamon sugar butter (yum!!). I ordered a glass of Chardonnay: pro tip, get a Texas pour (9oz for only $2 more! Yes, please). My husband got an old fashioned. For dinner, he got the steak and shrimp with a baked potato and veggies and I got the salmon with veggies and sweet potato. All of it was so good! My favorite was the shrimp though. Definitely a ton of food, so had enough to take home. Our waitress Cecilia was on top of everything and so sweet! We are already planning our next date night here! Went in tonight for dinner and it did not go well at all. We sat at the bar top. Got the Ca chicken dinner, chz was not even melted all the way, chz was still cold, did not come out with the honey lime sauce. Up graded to the chz/bacon fry's, chz was not melted on fry as well. I was so looking forward to being bad and having chz fry's. My husband steak was cooked to temp but cold. And to top it off our dinner salads came out after our steaks did along with the poor guys chili next to us, he already had his dinner as well. A manager did not even come out to do a table touch. I did get a free glass of wine not sure if bartender were trying to make up for the mess or forgot to ring it in. They did not even try to say sorry about what happened or hey the wines on us for what happened. My thought are they are for quantity of customers not quality of food/service. read more

First time in any Texas Roadhouse restaurant and it was a hit. No reservations and a Friday night, but early at 5, and the place was super busy. A line out the door and fully packed but we got in very fast. Not a place for a romantic quiet dinner but a fun, lively atmosphere with the best service you could ask for. Wood booths and tables, western themed, and they just made you feel good. Some ordered steaks, some ribs. Huge amount of food for each. No one was able to finish. Everyone enjoyed their food with comments like, yum so tender and even a wow, this is great over the baked sweet potato. We were all so happy with everything. Ambiance was good. Visited on Valentines week, it was busy and loud. We were seated quite quickly which was awesome! My favorite part was when they turned the music up and did their waiter/ tress dance in front of customers, super fun! *note if you're looking to have 1:1 conversation I'm not sure this is the best place, I could barely hear my husband across the table from me due to music volume. Other than that it's just a fun hoppin place! Customer service was good, we were greeted at walk in and seated by a nice host. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. Food was okay. Ordered; Mac & cheese, win there. Fries and side salad. Salad was fresh and crisp, fries were crispy & nicely salted. Steak and chicken plate, husband said it was ok. They had a few options for non-meat eaters, lots of sides to choose from which made it easier to make your own meal. Overall I'd try it again as there were many ++. read more

I've been to this restaurant dozens of times, and service and food has always been stellar. My parents flew in this week for my birthday, and we decided to eat here, since it's always been a consistent "sure thing." As a party of 6, we got seated fairly quickly. The wife told the staff that it was my birthday, so the guy seating us was really cool, wearing a "Birthday" sash lol, and fist bumped me and told me Happy Birthday. Our server came to our table, told me Happy Birthday, took our drink order (4 waters and two kid milks). He took our order, and said he'd be back with our drinks. Buns were served by a different server. However, we didn't have any silverware or plates...but we dug into them anyway, since they are always so good. We did look silly I suppose, using the drink napkins as makeshift plates. Next came two salads, however we didn't have any silverware (or plates) still so we had to ask her for some, to her surprise. She was nice and quickly came back with the plates and silverware. I flagged down our primary server and asked for two additional waters and a glass of red wine. Then a few minutes our food came, from a totally different server. We asked her for horseradish, as we originally ordered 3 prime ribs and noted that we would like supplementary 3 horseradish - however only received 1 of the 3 servings requested. She said she'd get them for us. Then at least 5 minutes go by, our primary server shows up and asks us how the food was. We informed him that we still needed 2 horseradish servings, and my mom was served a baked potato instead of a sweet potato. He proceeds to tell us that it's an "easy fix", and that there's a lot of different staff that help each other to serve the tables. That sounded like a subtle deflection, then we reminded him that we still needed that glass of wine and the two waters. He comes back within a few minutes of those items. We ended the meal with him getting our check and to go boxes. I mentioned that my ribeye was "red in the center" as expected of a medium rare, but it was weirdly, unexpectedly dried and charred on the outside more than usual. I only ate half of it, and didn't want a new one or compensation etc, but just was wondering what he thought of it. He stated that "some cuts just have less fat so they may be more dry." At this point it was just getting late and I was too tired to cause any drama. As we packed our leftovers, while my wife was assisting my parents, she realized that my parents were never served any au jus with their prime rib. How the heck dos that happen? My parents are old, are pretty compliant, and sometimes clueless lol, so they never mentioned anything. We packed our leftovers and left, with my mom demanding that she pay for the family's entire meal since it was my birthday. She ending up tipping 18-20% because she just felt sorry for our server, partly because the kitchen made mistakes and she simply thinks the server is just naturally absentminded, though good natured. My wife was quietly fuming, but we all just wanted to leave. I felt slightly bad because as we were walking out, my 6 year old pointed to the birthday saddle near some other tables and asked me what that was. I told him that it was just a saddle prop...but I'm sure he would've been thrilled to see his old dad sitting on it and wished a Happy Birthday lol. Great steak for the price. I ordered the sirloin. It was delicious and tender. We all licked our plates clean. As always, the bread was so, so good (soft, warm, and buttery). Our waitress was attentive. So why only 4 stars? The check-in process and host. We dined on a very cold, very windy, very wet night. This location no longer has an indoor waiting area because they converted it to a takeout window. Most of the time, this would be fine for southern California but made for an unpleasant outdoor wait on this night. We put our name in and were quoted 15 to 25 minutes. My dad and I waited outside, but it was too cold for my mother, who waited indoors with my husband. After about 10 minutes, my husband came out to tell us the inside had cleared out, and there was room to wait indoors. After being inside for a minute, one host asked if we had been texted. When we answered no, she very rudely told us we had to go outside and couldn't be inside. She was so rude we considered leaving. Ultimately, we were texted a minute later, so we went inside and dined. In an ideal world, the location would find a way to fulfill takeout orders without diminishing the dine in experience. This location almost always has a wait, so they know a proper waiting area would help. At the very least, though, staff needs to be trained to not be rude. We would have had no issues if the host had acknowledged the waiting situation wasn't ideal and politely asked us to clear the area for those who had been paged. read more

visited 02/02/25 party of 4. Worst service we ever had. One med. rare steak done med well instead of med. rare. Our waitress asked us how it was immediately after it was delivered, before any of us had a chance to cut into our steaks. We waited for 15-20 min. to report the over cooked steak but no waitress came. I had to hail down another server so we could tell him the steak was over cooked. Our Waitress was no where to be found. We sent the steak back and waited another 25-30 min to get a replacement steak. 3 of us had finished eating and the 4th had finished her potato and vegs while waiting for her steak. Our waitress was still no where to be found. I hailed down a second person and we waited another 15 mins before the steak was brought out by the service manager. She offered my cousin a replacement potato but that was all. I told the service manager we had waited almost 30 minutes for the steak. She did not care, and showed no interest in our delayed dinner. The only thing the manager said was "it was a new steak" She did not apologize or care that my cousin was eating her steak along. Besides poor service, when we arrived one person ordered a nonalcoholic drink but the drink never came. Our waitress did not check on us until just before she brought the bill. When I told her we did not receive the nonalcoholic drink she did not care either. She showed no regret or gave no apology. Our dinner took 2 hrs because of the long waits for food, our waitress who ignored us, and later for the steak replacement. The food is good if it is cooked correctly but the service is terrible and the manager and waitress did not care at all about our lack of service or long waits for food. Our dental office decided to have a spur of the moment lunch at Texas Roadhouse down the street. Half of the group got there 10 minutes before the rest of the group did. They seated us about 5 minutes after the rest of us got there. The place had been open for 30 minutes. Once we got to our table they gave us a split table. We stood for about 5 minutes when we got to our table because the waitresses were deciding this party is big and we need 2 waitresses and if we put them here then and so on. I was like y'all really should've figured this out before you sat us. Like everyone should've been included in the communication. After they finally squeezed us all at our table, the wonderful Kaitlan came to take our order. She was fun. About 20 minutes into our meal another co-worker and her daughter came and they end us placing her at the table behind us (which we originally asked for). I guess that table belonged to another waitress and once they were seated that waitress kept giving our full table dirty looks. From the beginning they should've had the seating and communication set. We only have an hour for lunch and figuring out the seating situation would've been so helpful. I just felt a certain way about it. I didn't appreciate the looks. I eventually asked what was up and the other waitress wasn't aware and she finally was like oh ok. Two different ladies came to our table to ask if everything was ok and it was (I assumed they were managers). Our waitress Kaitlan was the absolute best! She gave incredible customer service with a smile just awesome. She was very attentive to our needs and didn't mind our craziness. She was so sweet and our order came out perfect, thank you for taking our picture and for your service Kaitlan . Do better with communicating big parties especially at the opening when there's hardly anyone in the restaurant Team Oceanside. Need to make a stop on the road, look no further. Make the stop at TEXAS ROADHOUSE. They have the softest bread rolls with the yummiest cinnamon sugar butter. This alone is worth the visit. OK now onto the meat. For under $30, you can get the Forth Worth Ribeye (no bone- 12oz or 16oz) with two sides. I love any high end steakhouse and I praise those places. However, getting a quality cut steak for this price is a total steal. I usually go for the side salad and fluctuate between the baked and mashed potato. Don't be afraid to add the bacon bits and cheeeeese. Been coming to this chain multiple times now and I am yet to be dissapointed. read more

Went back today and Tristan remembered my son and I and even remembered our drink order. Very impressive! He gave us great service despite the long walk to the outside tents due to Covid. I tried the Chicken critter and ribs combo plate. The ribs were fall off the bone delicious. I love it when you can pull the bone out with your fingers and just eat the rib meat with a fork. The chicken was good and so were the steak fries, extra crispy. My son ordered the pulled pork sandwich again. The amount of pork in that sandwich was ridiculous! There was so much pork it literally fell out of the sandwich. Oh and the rolls... still delicious. Anyways, service was stellar. Not only by Tristan but by everyone else we came in contact with. "Roadkill" is a bit salty the past few times Ive gotten it but still so tasty with the mushrooms and swiss. Usually not a fan of chains and don't take the time to review them but I really like Texas Roadhouse. It's great to bring the family, the rolls are great and they give you unlimited rolls. They will even give kids uncooked dough to play with if you have to wait for a table. The staff is very friendly. I almost always go with the bone-in ribeye, medium-rare, with fries or mashed potatoes and Caesar salad. Every now and then they don't get the cook right but they are accommodating, will give you a new steak. Like others have stated, it gets crowded, but that's only a fault of their own success, so I tend to go early. Side benefit of going early, the food tends to be a bit salty so going early gives you time to hydrate before bed. read more

Stopped by Texas Roadhouse last week for my second visit. I was hoping for a better experience than my first visit. During my first visit, my step father ordered the Prime Rib and I had a Rib Eye steak. He was informed they only have an end cut left, which he was ok with. They brought a piece of rubber. And the rib eye was super fatty. The baked potato and salad were awesome! But did not make up for the poor meats. Last week I stopped in for happy hour. The place was packed. I ordered 2 beers and their early bird special of one pork chop and two sides. The salad and fries? Awesome. Pork chop? Dry dry dry. The bartender asked if I wanted another beer probably 10x. It was annoying. When I got the bill, I realized why---- they were $10.25 each. With tax it was almost $40 and $45 with tip. So much for a reasonable Happy Hour. read more

It was mine and my sisters first time here and wow we were so impressed! To start off, our server was AMAZING. Probably the best I've ever had at any restaurant, I think her name was Carissa?! She was so nice, cheerful and gave such great customer service. We arrived on a Friday evening and was told it'd be a 45 minute wait so we waited in the car, and ended up only waiting a bit more than 30 (yay!). After we got seated, we were brought the famous rolls and WOW. So warm, soft, delicious and fresh and the butter was so good. We got bread 3 times... basically it's the reason why we wanted to try this place. Food: We ordered a combo appetizer and chose the rattlesnake bites, fried pickle and potato skins. We actually received our food before our appetizer, when we were almost done eating. Our server apologized for it, but we didn't mind. I got the country fried sirloin with the chili and caesar salad. Chili wasn't that great but I wanted to give it a try! Salad was good. My sister got one of the combo plates and got ribs and chicken tenders (she doesn't eat steak). The ribs were pretty good and tender as well. I'm only giving 4 stars because the food did get pretty salty after awhile. The chili and the potato skins were just alright. Even with tables blocked off, Texas Roadhouse was pretty crowed and for good reason. We had been craving this type of atmosphere and food for several months. We were able to check in over the telephone, so our wait was very short. Now to the food...The fried pickles (which I never had before) were delicious. Everyone in our group loved them. For our main entree, my wife and I shared a 12 ounce ribeye, shrimp, a loaded baked potato, and dinner salad. Each of these items were excellent, and I am glad we shared. We also tried the Mac and Cheese; also very good. Regarding the service, it was excellent. Our server, Bryan, did a great job for us and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We ordered deep fried pickles, the dinner rolls of course! A rack of ribs with fried and I got a prime rib with salad and mashed potatoes. I thought I ordered a ribeye but I guess I ordered prime rib, they the time it came I was starving and so ready to eat and omg it was delicious!! So good! The meat was amazing quality and so tender!! I called to ask a simple question. I have to sit and wait through a horrible tape. They finally started giving me some options. I have to wait until the third option to talk to somebody. It was at night, and they were still open. Option 3 must have rung 15 times and no one answered. Next it goes right back to that horrible tape and they start all over again with their long winded voice. I push option 3 and let it ring another 15 times and no answer. So, I call another Texas Roadhouse and get the same horrible audio tape and go through the same monotonous process. How do you expect to run a business if you don't answer your phone at two locations? I already hate this place, and I haven't even been there.
