We really enjoyed the Lobby Tiki Bar and Restaurant. The place is decorated very nicely, but is very small. There are three small bay seating areas, and one larger area at the back of the restaurant. I can see how this place could get really busy! They don't have a lot of space. Our waitress was really good, very friendly and talkative! She was very interested and was very kind in her service. We went on a Tuesday, and they had a Tuesday taco special. It was great! We love the food! The coconut shrimp was the highlight! We had the Painkiller, nonalcoholic drink, it was packed with ice, and not enough liquid! I would've even preferred to have sparkling water mixed in with all the other ingredients just to have a little more to sip! I'm a sucker for tiki drinks and tiki food, too (I suppose Polynesian is the more appropriate and accurate term) and this place exceeded my expectations. There is a bar/lounge level on the first floor which is fairly chill and then, for you adventurers, you walk and walk and walk up the stairs to the rooftop deck. The views here are absolutely tremendous and the vibe is definitely upbeat. I highly recommend burning a couple of calories to reach the deck to check out the amazing views. I tried the Cobra Kai drink (rum, rum, more rum, and maybe some fruit juice) and it knocked me out. You won't be unhappy with the heavy pours here. They also do fun and delicious mocktails. The fish tacos were outstanding. You get two of them and they are huge and delicious. Get them beer battered. I am a huge fan of Cubano sandwiches. The one here is fine but is not a must order. It is a "Hawaiian Cuban" (wrap your brains around that fusion combo) and comes with your normal Cubano ingredients (pickles, ham and cheese) and also minced kalua pork. The kalua pork was very dry and I just don't think the combination works. Just my two cents. The bartender and other staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Wish we were hungry to try the food because the brunch menu (went on a Sunday) looked fantastic. Drinks were well crafted for such a cute little tiki spot! We tried the Purple Church (a Saturn), Mai Tai, a holiday item: Pandan Express, and the Temple of Doom. We adored all the special glassware and how well the cocktails were made. Located on the ground floor of an actual hotel, guests have to walk through this bar to reach the elevator to the second and third floors where rooms are. I took a friend here for her birthday on Friday June 19. We did make a reservation. The bar tender greeted us and said he had our table ready I highly recommend making reservations as tables are limited. We made reservations using their website. Our waitress and waiter were very helpful and friendly. Checking on us and clearing dishes (very small table ) timely. Giving us great recommendations . We ordered two appetizers. The Brussel sprouts and the ceviche. We never rec the brussel sprouts. I didn't even notice because we could barely finish the ceviche and our mains came in. The ceviche was pretty good. Nice flavor and served with fresh tortilla chips. We ordered the mocktail Painkiller. It was sooo delicious but mostly packed with ice so for $10 you got 85% ice. So I would order with light ice . We ordered the spicy chicken bowl which was good but light on the chicken. The spice was amazing. We ordered the poke bowl, this dish was totally worth it, filled with fresh tuna. The combination of the ingredients so yummy. We ordered the Hawaiian donuts. Omg!! Those were incredible. I wanted more . They add a 5% service which I tipped on as I didn't realize the fee was there till after I got home. The ambiance was cozy and we felt like we were in a vintage Hawaiian place. I want to start of by saying that our bartender was so awesome and because of her we will return! We came in randomly on their very first Mai Tai glass release day and because we were hanging out the bar so long we were the first two customers to get one! As self proclaimed tiki bar connoisseurs we judge places on their Mai Tai's and this place did not disappoint. Found this awesome tiki bar on the way home from a San Diego trip and we found a GEM! Great "lei'd" back place with the tastiest upscale tiki drinks this side of SoCal. Kate and Parker were our friendly neighborhood bartenders for the night. I personally don't love anything that isn't sweet (but effective!) I ordered a painkiller, level 1 and Kate recommended level 2 as it doesn't affect the sweetness... THANK YOU tasted great. About time Oceanside got a tiki bar! I wish it was right on the beach but you can't get *much* closer since this is just a couple blocks away. It is part of a hotel and attached to a coffee shop and the Oside Stone location. There is plenty of parking right around on the streets and nearby lots. Service wasn't really great, it was slow and they acted like it was a chore to be helping us. Due to all of that we only stayed for one drink and then went elsewhere. You should make reservations if you want to sit inside, but they have a nice patio area, which we thought was better. I ordered the fish and chips, mainly because they source their fish from a local O'side fishery. Came in for another round of drinks and food on a Saturday afternoon. We requested a booth in the front near the bar for the vibes, but it was so bright outside that I had to wear sunglasses. Would be nice if they could shade the big front window somehow. Anyway, we got a Mai Tai with the rum float ($12), and a Level 2 Painkiller. Both drinks were outstanding. Mine was strong. This is the best part about this bar. Other places give you weak drinks and charge $20+. It's highway robbery! (On that note, however, there is a 5% surcharge added to your bill with no explanation as to what it's for. I actually don't mind the charge as long as the drinks are strong and the service is great.) We had Ashley as a server. She was great. So bright and bubbly. She said the Poke Inari Bombs were her favorite so we tried them. Wow, these things were so good! They don't look like much on the plate, but they pack a ton of flavor and I could eat ten of them. We also got the chicken wings with the Huli sauce. The sauce was slightly sweet but the flavor was great. The wings themselves were huge and we couldn't finish the plate. Another successful visit to the best Tiki bar in downtown Oceanside. Only, please consider adding some kind of screen during the day time for that front window. Tiki bars should be dark and cozy. What in the world is happening in Oceanside these days? This new hidden gem is amazing. Tiki in the inside and botanical garden on the heated patio. The inside is small... way small. The patio is bigger and while nice does not have the cool tiki vibe of the inside. Near flawless was this evening. Our server, Paige, was as good as it gets. Knew the menu down cold, knew how to take care of her guests and made the night a delight. It was a sharing night and we started with the coconut shrimp and the poke and... sheesh! The shrimp were plump, juicy, tasty and crispy on the outside. The poke was just amazing. Get it. Eat it. No way to describe it other than.. amazing. The drinks, which did take a while to come out (Paige apologized for the delay) and again, were superb. The next course was the surf and turf tacos. 2 larger flour tortillas chock full of tasty goodies. So worth getting. Next up was the chicken sandwich with the teriyaki sauce. They split he dish in the back which was very nice. The chicken was tender and juicy and the the teriyaki was more of a "dash" of flavor. It was not overpowering at all. The fries were piping hot and crispy. Now... a perfect evening came to a crashing halt when I saw the 4% surcharge on the bill. I'm sure it was noted on the menu but it really set me off. Hate this type of thing. Just charge more. This is a really silly way to make money or whatever. I'm not the only one that noticed this. This place is fantastic! From the decorations to the bartender, tiki drinks, and food! We shared a Cubano sandwich with perfectly cooked fries, Mai Tai and Temple of Doom cocktails to start. Everything was perfectly made and tasted great! We then ordered another round of drinks: Cobra Kai and Concrete Jungle Bird which were also excellent. I make tiki drinks at home and can say Cobra Kai was perfectly made by the bartender. For another round of food we had the Brussel sprouts which were yum! Had a great time.
