My husband and I were so hungry after a long day of yard work and we hadn't eaten all day, so on our way home from gabbing some more supplies we stopped by. We were pleasantly surprised by how great the service was and how quick they were! It was very busy and we were seated fairly quickly. We showed up at 7:02 and were told that it was a 15-20 minute wait for our party of 5. At 8:20, we still were not seated and left to go to Tepenyaki instead. Had they told us it was an hour and 20 minute wait, we could have just gone somewhere else and saved everyone a lot of time. 20 minutes would be a reasonable wait. But a blatant disregard for your customer's time by telling them 20 minutes and making them wait for over an hour on a Sunday evening??? I had a really scary experience at this Texas Roadhouse (Orem) last night. I was sitting a few tables down from a couple that supposedly received a raw steak and politely sent it back a few times before eating it. After they paid the gentleman approached the manager (I think). I couldn't hear what the customer was saying but I could hear that his tone was low and polite. The manager exploded and started screaming expletives at them. The couple understandably appeared frightened. He then tripped the woman and then put his nose to the male customer's nose and kept screaming at him, without a face ask, during the COVID pandemic. When they asked his name he screamed "CLAYTON" and then screamingly spelled his name at them. The couple hurriedly rushed to their car to get away from him. This manager verbally assaulted the couple and then physically assaulted them by attempting to trip the woman and screaming nose to nose at the gentleman without his face mask. One of my favorite Restaurants to frequent. The staff immediately greats you with a smile and a hello. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable and always on point. I don't think there is much on the menu I haven't tried. My favorite at this specific location is the prime rib. The cook know what medium means and the portions are perfect. Can't think of a time when the managers haven't checked to see how our meal and service was. Restaurant is always busy and yet they manage to have clean restrooms. The only thing is, there is always stuff on the floor. I mean how many peanut shells do they need really? Lol, just kidding. Thank you for them. This Texas roadhouse is just average. Normally I would give five starts, but not this time. They have a very interesting way of seating you. When you get there they give you a number, and you have to watch for your number on a small screen (and I noticed our number was on one screen, but not the other one). When your number pops up you are told to stand in line on a carpet in front of the meat counter, in the way of everything coming in and out of the restaurant. They need a new system. The food was just average. My ribs were way overcooked. The salad was excellent as always. The chili was excellent, too. The Ribeye was very fatty. What a fun lively place!!!! We're from CA and we were in town visiting family who just moved to Utah. They recommended this restaurant to us since we like BBQ style. We went on a Wednesday early evening too. Luckily we called ahead of for a reservation. When we got there it was packed like a Saturday night! We text back HERE per their reserved request to us and got sitted within about 10-15 minutes since we made reservations. I had heard people who just walked in without reservations and they said their wait was over half hour to 45 minutes so we were glad we called in advance too. After being sitted we were greeted by a friendly waitress and she served us right away even though it was extremely busy she was attentive and gave us good service. We had the ribs, salad, and fries all very good. The place was hopping, energetic, fun, and very lively. Not sure if it's always like that but we had a nice time overall. I would recommend this place too, but call and make reservations before you go avoid the wait especially since its bopping daily there too! read more

I came in yesterday for my birthday and was really looking forward to a good steak. First of all, my waiter was told it was my birthday at the beginning of the meal. I decided to buy an appetizer for the table and instead of desert at the end of the meal, he told me that he had personally payed for my appetizer when in fact he completely lied to my face. I still payed full price. Not a big deal, just don't say something you aren't going to do. I am a current waiter as well and that is just unacceptable behavior. The waiter was extremely hyper the entire time and pressured me to buy a massive steak over and over until I finally had to be sharp with him about my decision. I just wanted to relax and enjoy a good meal with my friends. Now to the steak. I asked for it medium rare ribeye (the priciest on their menu)and it came out cold and rare. I couldn't even eat it. I realize that I should have asked for a new one but I just was really disappointed overall at that point and just wanted the check. I don't remember Texas Roadhouse being this way in the past. Hubby and I went for an early lunch and it was quiet with zero wait. I'd highly recommend going during the day before the rush because it was downright lovely. I probably go here 3 to 6 times a year. I usually get the 10oz Ribeye or the 8 oz NY strip, medium rare. Both have always been delicious. Rolls and honey butter are amazing. The servers have never been stingy with them either. More peanuts than you can shake a stick at. My son's favorite place to eat. Every couple of years, my wife and I decide it would be good to eat at Texas Roadhouse. I mean, they have 10/10 delicious rolls with cinnamon butter. Like really, it's almost worth the trip just for that. On to the food. I ordered half a smoked chicken and pork ribs, and my wife got some sort of beef tips platter. There were a few, perfectly smoked pieces of chicken in my meal, but the majority was almost totally flavorless. Also, the pork ribs were bone dry. It almost felt like I was eating an extra dry, flavorless piece of jerky. It had that stringy, fibrous texture. The only part that had any moisture was the BBQ sauce they had thrown on right before bringing my food out to me. Also, my wife's beef tips were very dry as well although they did have some good flavor. The service was great--one of the most attentive servers I've had. However it couldn't make up for the food quality. 3/10 will go back in 3-4 years . . . for the rolls. read more

We got our food before we got our salad. The server had no idea our salads didnt come out. I kindly asked him when my other side would be finished, he said soon. This is the place me and my fam come to more than any other place. I always forget to write a review but today since we are here for lunch I'm ordering a burger, and I never ordered the burger from here so I will write a review about it. Before I do that I just want to say I have almost always ordered the Ribeye and I have never been disappointed. Today I also ordered the hot boneless wings. This is the only place I have known to have the best boneless wings. It's because they are made from scratch every order. Okay back to my bacon cheese burger. Firstly it's HUGE! Honestly appalled by how rude the manager Aaron was. My family arrived and ordered an appetizer and drinks while we were waiting for one more person who was about 5 mins out. We were waiting at our table about 15 mins when Aaron came over and introduced himself. He rudely told us that if we couldn't order now for the last person then he would have to be seated elsewhere. He was extremely disrespectful and we were honestly shocked at the treatment. It's a shame because Texas Roadhouse has been a favorite for a long time. We just simply asked for the check for our appetizer and left. Aaron quickly disappeared afterwards and was nowhere to be seen. Our waiter was very sympathetic and apologetic. I'm still very hurt about this unprovoked rudeness from management. Fortunately the wait staff was still very polite and kind. I don't know if I can go back for a while after this experience. I took my mother and my family here at the end of October for my mom's birthday. She had been looking forward to this for weeks. When we got there, of course there was a bit of a wait. Not a big deal at all, except there is no where to wait at Texas Roadhouse except outside. It was a bitter cold day that day and my elderly mother didn't want to walk all the way back to the car, which was over by the mall. I dropped her off at the door and then I went and parked. It was the closest spot I could find. She tried to wait inside the door, tucked in the corner, but the hostess was terribly nasty to her and kept telling her to go outside. I get that might be their rule, but her approach to an almost 70 year old woman was uncalled for. I overheard some of it and the attitude was astounding. We asked how long it would be until a table was ready. The hostess said 30 minutes. I made the decision to go and get the car to keep the family warm. I figured, once we got to 30 minutes, they could go in and I would park again. Just as I got to the car to bring it around, my kids called me panicking that are table was ready and they wouldn't seat us until everyone was present. I sprinted from the parking lot to the door like it was black Friday. They took us back and made a family of 7 sit in a booth for 4 plus coats. It was snug. Fine, whatever... We're finally seated. We get our drink order and the server said, "sorry, we don't have any straws.". Wtf?! How do you expect small children to drink without straws through a lid? I pulled the lids off of the completely full cup and my anxiety spiked. Guess what happened next... I'm sure you can imagine the mess. Well, nothing happened, but what you just imagined was what I was waiting for, anxiously, all night. I was so focused on those damned full cups that, if my kids moved at all, I was bracing for impact. Fast forward to getting our order. My mom got the prime rib I believe, I got the New York strip. I always get New York's trip, everywhere. It's my favorite kind of steak when it's prepared correctly. I ordered medium rare, so did she. The food arrived and I had a moment of respite from the drink experience. My steak, medium well. Almost well done. Now the waitress was very accommodating to have them remake it. And I appreciate it how great she was. I can't stress enough the waitress was terrific. She took it back to the kitchen, and we waited... And we waited... We finally got my steak back and it was not even a New York strip. I was too embarrassed at this point to question it or send it back again. I'm pretty sure it was like a pepper steak sirloin or something along those lines. I didn't even know they had that on the menu. My well done steak had much better flavor, but the texture was miserable. This steak was much better prepared, but was not very tasty at all. I get that this is not Ruth's Chris, but all I'm looking for is a little consistency, especially when it's for somebody else's birthday or celebration. Nobody wants to make a fuss in front of people that they're trying to create a memorable evening with. Ps. Fried Pickle chips were great too. Finally had a chance to eat at this location which has not lost its popularity with the big groups , big portions, get in, get out crowds. It has been many years since our dining experience at a TH, the last being in Oregon. We were quite early, well, early for us, 6pm, but we're seated quickly. The hostess carried with her a basket of some kind of dinner roll with some brownish butter on the side. She failed to mention that is was honey cinnamon butter...I later tasted it and could not detect either honey nor cinnamon. By that time, our server had told us this, the rolls were cold even if he offered to bring regular butter. I see from other reviews that this pretty much is the main item people come to the restaurant for. My husband ordered the half rack of ribs with a baked potato and vegetable. I struggled to find something appealing to counter the FYI calorie info posted next to each menu item. Many guests appeared to not be bothered by this information. I guess it is the YOLO (you only live once) syndrome. I ordered the basic cheeseburger mainly because I can get it cooked medium rare. Our food came in a timely manner, except, of course, there was no mustard. And the burger needed it. It was cooked nicely but without a hint of seasoning. I asked for some mustard. Our waiter was already busy with another table so relayed my request to another person who apparently had to enter the message on a screen. This is just MUSTARD people! Bring out the bottle. Well, it finally arrived, and I put some on the bun, took one bite and well, it had gone cold. Back to the kitchen it went, came to the table, took one more bite, now the burger is over cooked and dripping in grease I didn't eat any more. The server noticed, but didn't offer another choice, or "to make it right ". I might have had another glass of wine, but beer drinkers are favored over wine drinkers. Poor selection, over priced and under poured. We paid and then slogged through the crowds of servers, bus staff, to get to the peace and quiet of the icy parking lot. For a place that is only open 6 hours of the day, surely some time could be spent cleaning...those floors were pretty sticky. We won't likely be back, but I suspect with the folks lined up to get in for a lacklustre experience they won't notice or care. read more

My wife took me here for my birthday and I had never been in before. Our server Mitch was super helpful and was always available to get us refills and bring us some of their delicious must try fresh baked rolls which are complimentary. The food was just amazing. The steak was cooked exactly how we wanted it and Mitch even asked us how our steak was cooked just to make sure it was perfect. I had the 11 oz sirloin with mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. Customer service was very low quality. Made reservation for 8pm and tried to tell us it was for 9pm. Even after we talked to them about it made us wait 45 min extra. I created a Yelp account just to post this review. I've always loved the food but the service on my last visit was total garbage. Here are the highlights. - got on waitlist and told the wait would be 30-40 minutes - at 45 minutes we looked at the link they gave us to check wait times - it said we were half way through with our wait and there were still 24 parties still ahead of us - I went and asked front desk what the wait now was. She said just a few more minutes and that I couldn't trust the Yelp link because it's never right (why do they use it then?) - they called us up pretty quickly after that and had us wait right next to the front desk for another fifteen minutes - we finally got seated at the table right next to the front desk. We had groups of waiting people standing around our table staring at us while we ate. - our waiter came and asked how things were going. I told him that I was a little frustrated with their waitlist system. I said it would be great if they texted us when our table was actually ready instead it's making us come wait at the front door another 15 minutes. The waiter told me that would be a great idea for me to implement if I ever had a restaurant - we then ordered drinks and appetizers. I asked for rattlesnake bites. I reminded the waiter before he left to not forget the bites. The bites never came. - the rest of our food got out to us in decent time and it tasted great -i also told our waiter that it wasn't great eating with all the people standing around our table. He said ya well you should try working here - later the manager came and asked how everything was. I brought up the same things to her but did say the food was good. She said well at least the food was good. Overall.... food was great but service was awful. Waiter was rude. I understand it's tough when things are that busy. We came and ordered the special. Our steak was excellent. The ribs were really good. The shrimp was great. My daughter ordered chicken strips and they were tender and delicious. However, the Best part about the meal was the service. Chad was our waiter and he was excellent. He was on top of our needs, always had a smile, and was extremely polite.
