We are frequent Roadhouse diners. This is a typical roadhouse in regard to staff and dining area. The staff is mostly young and friendly. The dining area is loud, clean and busy. All expected. The food was a big disappointment. I cannot understand how a steakhouse has kitchen staff that cannot prepare a medium steak. My steak on two separate visits was overcooked and dry. My take-home chili was full of gristle and fat, ended up throwing it away. Husband ordered the chicken fried chicken. Both visits, the chicken was full of fat and about half was inedible. Yes, we went twice while in town, because we hoped the first visit was a fluke. read more

Was staying at the Fairfield and went here for dinner. I was seated immediately in the bar area by choice. Ashley was my server and was amazing. Ordered the filet with a baked sweet potato. Had a glass of Merlot too. This place is a smooth working machine. Everyone worked together for the pleasure of their customers. It was very busy and everyone was happy. The servers put on a little show/dance, honored all birthdays. Ashley or another server delivered everything I asked for swiftly. I believe that all the residents of Sierra Vista come here because it reasonable and their service is excellent. Wish I had met the Manager because they are doing an awesome job. I was really looking forward to eating at this Texas Roadhouse when I drove from Phoenix area down to Sierra Vista for the annual Hummingbird square dance festival with two of my favorite callers. When I got to the restaurant I already knew what I was going to order .... the prime rib. I never had prime rib at Texas Roadhouse before. Well I arrived at 5:00 p.m on Saturday Jan 11, 2025. I ordered the 20 oz prime rib cut bloody RARE. I told my server I wanted it to jiggle like jello. But when my server Jasmine delivered it to the table it was not rare at all. It was pink, not red, and Jasmine explained, "This is not rare, this is medium". And she took it right back. Jasmine came back a little later with the same piece of meat medium, and said that the kitchen ran out of rare. She asked me if I still wanted that piece of meat and I said no I don't want to pay that much money and have it be off two shades from what I wanted. To me, they ruined the expensive meat, because you only eat prime rib rare not medium. So I ordered the 20 oz bone-in ribeye, RARE. I looked at the sample pieces in the fridge case, and Jasmine also verified my observation. That the 12 and 16 oz cuts have substantially more fat and waste in them then a 20 oz cut. So for price per ounce you get a lot more fat maybe 1/3 is fat on the 12th and 16 oz cuts. Jasmine said the 20 oz cuts are from a different part of the cow, and have less fat, may 15%. I can make three meals out of the 20 oz cut. Well when that steak was delivered, yes it was jiggling like jello. However it was cold and it was plenty cold outside the building that night. it was like they took it out of the refrigerator and served it to me. But I guess that's what the description of rare is. I could hardly cut it and it would only get colder so I sent it back. Jasmine brought it back warmer but it was still too rare for me so I didn't want to bother Jasmine anymore. I put it in my to-go box for me to put on my own grill at home and having the change of menu item, they brought me another sweet potato so I had that for dinner. Meanwhile Jasmine got her boss for me to ask her my question, which is how come they don't stagger the timing of cooking the prime ribs so that they have rare after 5:00 p.m. or after 7:00 p.m. Jasmine gets 5 stars for her efforts to try to make my order right. She brought the manager Ariel, who tried to explain that kitchen cannot guess each day's prime rib demand. So it is best to call ahead and if you're going to want rare prime rib. Come when they open at 3:00 p.m. or at 11:00 a.m. when they open on the weekends. Ariel gave me a voucher for free onion blossom. read more

Ordered the Prime Rib cooked medium rare. Although it was red in color, it was very (extremely) tough to cut and chew. The reasons why prime rib can sometimes be tough, even though it's red is usually due to improper cooking temperatures or reheating the meat after it's been cooked. This results in the muscle fibers to shrink and become rigid (tough). I usually order the Ribeye, so I'll avoid the Prime Rib next visit at this Texas Roadhouse location. Service- very good. We absolutely adored the hostesses, they greeted us with a smile, and very welcoming. Shea was our waitress and she was amazing. We loved her. We visited Texas Roadhouse in Sierra Vista on the 4th of July and overall had a great dining experience. Our server was absolutely perfect--attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right throughout our dine in. The alcoholic beverages were spot-on, mixed well and exactly what we needed to enjoy the holiday. The food was mostly great, though there were a few hiccups. The rolls, which are usually a highlight, were cold and a bit hard--seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp too long. The shrimp and baked potato were both overly salty, which took away from the flavor. A lighter hand in the kitchen would definitely go a long way. Despite those small issues, we still had a very enjoyable visit. We would recommend this location, especially for the excellent service--but we do hope the kitchen team revisits their salt shaker habits. read more

I am not a fan of chain restaurants, but this was the best steakhouse we could find in Sierra Vista. We were pleasantly surprised. We sat at the bar and got great service from Tory. My ribeye was a great value and perfectly cooked. My wife enjoyed her California Chicken, too. The drinks are disappointing, though. Even a double is a tiny pour. They are very stingy with the hooch, and that costs them a star. There is not much choice in Sierra Vista. This is pretty good chow for the price. read more

Came to Texas Roadhouse on a whim and felt blessed. Upon arrival we were on a slight wait of 5 minutes or so but them tables turned and we were able to get seated very quickly. The host was nice at the front. The place overall seemed well taken care of and the awards were cool to see at the front. Also super cool to see part of the kitchen working hard, making it a really cool experience to walk into. Ariel was our server and she was amazing and took good care of us. Overall great service especially given the busyness. Food was amazing as well. Hope to come back soon as it was such a lovely experience. The "porch rocker" was delicious. We got the smokehouse burger and it was absolutely incredible. The bbq sauce they had on there was delicious and the portions were generous. Loaded French fries were the way to go! Added mash potato on the side just because and that met all expectations. I got the steak filet salad and was not disappointed. This is the best managed Texas Roadhouse with the best employees we have ever eaten at. From the moment we entered until we walked back out the door was a most excellent experience. My wife's filet was cooked perfectly. She was actually making sounds of pleasure after each bite so kudos to the chef because that doesn't happen often. I tried the beef tips based on another reviewer's recommendation and they were tasty and tender. With the mushrooms, onions and sour cream mixed in, it was a little like having stroganoff. Now all I have to do is figure out an excuse to detour to Sierra Vista the next time we go west to visit family. read more

I love this place especially for happy hour, the staff is awesome, very friendly and courteous. The only draw back is the bar is small, but the turn over is not bad so the wait is less. I believe happy hour is from 3p-6p. They are open by 11am, for dine in & the menu is vast plenty to choose from & the peanuts are free which are delicious. Every time I come to Sierra vista Texas Roadhouse is a must stop to say hi to the bartender staff who are awesome and mingle with family and friends to have a great time. Ok. Bring back either Saul or train someone that will get the grillers to do their jobs correctly and not short change the customer with their meat orders. I use to come as a regular and now it's maybe once a quarter. The steaks have been well overcooked to jerky status and the filet has been butterflied to a non-existent size/fullness. We are talking paper thin. What most likely happened this latest visit, the cook took a thick 4-6oz fillet and sliced into 3 medallions... I don't blame the servers but come on the cooks/kitchen manager needs to be held to the standard. Never did I get over done steaks from this place when the last kitchen manager was around... now it's often. What's even more annoying is that the managers shrug it off. They don't attempt to ask or offer anything! If a customer complains and shows the discrepancy... fix it. Don't ask. Just do. Retraining is needed. read more

I treated my husband to a birthday meal yesterday. This was his choice for a medium ribeye dinner and two beers. We have eaten here many times since this place opened over ten years ago. I like to support the company because it hires local high school students and veterans, and my students who work here always say they are treated well. So kudos to that. Service is also very good. My two complaints is that the place can get loud when it's crowded, which is to be expected, but then the country music seems to get turned up even higher and it's hard to have a conversation with someone. I also find the food too saity. It was quiet when we walked in at 2pm yesterday, thanks to the holiday. The buckets of peanuts have been removed during the pandemic, but the sweet bread is still offered while waiting for one's food. Domestic beers are $3 and anything else is $6.50 (even Dos Equis), so having a beer here can really run up the bill. I'll stick to iced tea next time. read more

It was my birthday. We were on the road to California from Maine and found ourselves within 2 miles of a TexasRoadhouse. I had the 5 oz filet and Tim had the 12 oz strip. This is my second time eating at one of these and it did not disappoint. Steaks were done perfectly and the sides were great. (Except for the green beans. There was more bacon than green beans!). Pathetic. Last night, my husband and I made a call-ahead reservation. We arrived and were brought in at the appointed time. The waiter took over 10 minutes to acknowledge us, then he couldn't give a very good description of the beers on the menu. Then, we asked about prime rib. It was 6:20 pm on a Friday. The waiter said they were all out. When the manager spoke to us later, she admitted they didn't have any at 4pm. Really? How do you not have prime rib on a Friday night at 4 pm, let alone 6:20? This is the second occasion this restaurant has done this, but this has to be said about this location. While we did wait for the food we did order, they turned up the music so loud it was offensive, so the waitstaff could dance, to a (not) country song.
