I've always wanted to try Texas Roadhouse because it looks huge from i84. Luckily, I was the receipt of an obscure gift card selection to show I'm appreciated for work, and Texas Roadhouse was the only name I recognized. You get to their parking lot through the BJs. There seems to be a lot of spaces, but the waiting area multiple rows long is intimidating. For the cold season, the inside seems sufficient. You can pick your own steak from a counter or order off the menu. I opted for menu, and it was delicious. If you're going to get potatoes as a side, consider getting them loaded, otherwise they would have been too peppery. Portions are more then fair, as is the case with dessert as well. It's super convenient since it's right by the highway I take home from work. One day, I stayed late and was really hungry, so I thought I'd swing by the bar for a bite to eat. I visited Texas Roadhouse on May 24, 2026. This review is not about the food, which is always consistent and great, and the front desk hosts are always welcoming and professional. The reason for this review is my repeated experience with a waitress named Skylar. Every time we are assigned to her, she initially comes across as aggressive/passive toward me while taking our order. After the food arrives, her attitude noticeably changes, seemingly once it is time to secure a tip. This behavior has been very consistent during multiple visits. What stands out to me is that I observe her treating other customers very warmly and differently, which makes the interaction even more uncomfortable. As frequent customers of Texas Roadhouse, we have never had an issue with any other waiter or waitress at this location. I believe management should pay attention to these interactions because customer service consistency matters just as much as the food experience. read more

I have eaten at your Texas Roadhouse many times and have done pickup orders with no complaints over many years. Last night i order 2 6oz sirloin and a salmon dinners. The sirloin dinners the steak was not cooked properly. I asked for med rare and the steak was rare but the worse part the was tough and grizzly that with a steak knife I could not the steak!!! To start off the food is alright, everything was pretty good but you can tell some of the sides were pre-packaged and out of a box, it wasn't a big deal to me though. Put us on the call ahead seating I do know it's not a res. But it tells me pax 1 hour we show up at apex one hour it's busy understand but still wait another 45 minutes to get sated server was fast getting our drinks and apitizer comes out meanwhile mind you we placed our meal order right away waited over 45 minutes for salad after asking for them then finished salad and waited 30 minutes more and other tables that sat after we were seated and they got there meals stay away from the Waterbury location they have gone down hill over the last few years I been going to Texas road house all over the country for over 14 years ! read more

A mixed bag. Place was big, loud, fun and busy and still the waiter was very fast in refilling drinks and bringing bread and appetizers and very friendly. However, one of the orders had both sides brought incorrectly, with one of the sides never making it to the table despite the apology and promise of correction. The grilled chicken and tenders were tasty, though everything was saltier than it should have been. But jf I were to judge a steakhouse for their steak, the ribeye I ordered tasted charred, more well-done than the medium-well I asked for. Now, you'd probably tell me that I should have asked for medium if I didn't want a burnt dry steak, but I just had that same cut expertly cooked at Casa Oaxaca in Bethel a week ago, and they are not a steakhouse. Based on the menu, I wanted the experience of a scaled-up Cracker Barrel, but despite the delicious and abundant breads (they kept bringjng more and more), and some of the plates being tasty, a steak that I didn't enjoy biting into or wanted to finish is a big no-no for what should be their primary focus. Disappointingly, I think Cracker Barrel might still be a more consistent and safer choice across the board, even if they wouldn't smother you in bread rolls. read more

We were looking for a good steak house, and decided to give Texas Roadhouse a try. We haven't been back there in years. We were promptly brought a basket of their delicious warm sweet bread rolls with cinnamon honey butter. Their house salad was very good. Looking at the menu I couldn't decide whether I wanted a steak, or ribs, so I got the combination steak, and ribs that solve that problem. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a nice flavor to it.The ribs were excellent,and the meat just fell off the bone. My wife had the grill barbecue chicken, and steak combination with mashed potatoes. I do suggest tasting your food before seasoning it. When it comes to steaks Texas Roadhouse has been a favorite since I was young. Of course I miss some of the flair of peanut shells all over the place but with allergies and Covid the change is understandable. You definitely want to reserve a table online for a quick easy dinner. We didn't wait five minutes to be seated. It was a festive night since a local school was doing a fundraiser. Even the lils (8&6) thoroughly enjoyed their meal. They tried my chili and liked it. I asked if it tasted like my homemade chili. All three of my kids assured me that my chili is the best. I believe them but somehow wonder if Christmas lurking around the corner is influencing their tastebuds lol. I took away one star because the steak was under seasoned which was a surprise to me. I ordered the prime-rib. It had a weird taste to it. I googled it... Apparently it is the rub, it has soy sauce. It was very off putting. Everything else I had a couple bites of green beans have bacon in them, the salad has cheese, eggs, croutons the rolls are who do you covered with oil? The butter has cinnamon, sugar. One star is generous. The only thing I can give them credit for is they are consistent....consistent at being terrible. They opened in Waterbury about 5-7 years ago. I tried them when they first opened. The service was horrible. The food was okay, not great but okay. So I switched to take out only, gave it 3 tries. The service and food was horrible so I stopped going. Like I said, it had been 5-7 years since I have been there. My mom was up and my son likes steaks. I reluctantly agreed. We went early so seating was immediate. The table was in the back but it was comfortable. The restaurant was clean. The server came over soon after being seated to take drink orders. That is when anything positive I can say ended. My son ordered a virgin Strawberry Daiquiri. The waiter said they couldn't make it. Confused, I informed him that they make the Daiquiri the way they normally would, just don't put in the rum. He said that they can't. Corporate rules. I was fine with paying full price, not asking for a discount because it was alcohol free. He said my son would have to choose from the alcohol free drinks listed on the menu. Still confused, I said he doesn't want any of those. The waiter said that the blenders they use have alcohol in them. Which didn't make any sense because I would hope that they rinse the blenders after each mixed drink. So we abandoned the drink. I was going to order a drink but I wasn't going to give them the revenue. After that issue, I also changed what I was going to order, intentionally depriving them of significant revenue. My son ordered the $30 16oz NY Strip steak. I was going to order that too, but I changed it to a hamburger. I was clear and specific. I just wanted lettuce tomato and raw onion. Nothing else. I was clear and specific, repeating myself. When the hamburger arrived, it had mayonnaise on the bottom bun. Disgusting. So far, their horrible service didn't disappoint. I couldn't wait to finish up and leave never to return. The waiter stopped over a couple of more times. I am assuming a manager made rounds to all the tables asking, "is everything okay?". Being with my family who doesn't like confrontation, all I could do was so, "no, we're good," when all I wanted to do was raise the issues I we experienced. Then they use those stupid kiosk check out tablets at the table. I like a printed receipt so I can check for accuracy. Despite everything, I still left the waiter an 18% tip. I was so happy to leave. Being that after all this time they still haven't changed, I don't believe they will. Even if TRH gave me a full refund and a free meal, I still would not go back. They're just horrible. Multiple things go wrong. It is not a fun, enjoyable experience. What they sell is not exclusive. You can get steak anywhere and even less expensive. I love that I can choose where to spend my discretionary spending income. It is not here and I absolutely not recommend them and will actively advise my friends, family and co-workers to avoid TRH. Last, it is very off putting to see employees in shirts that boldly state, "I love my job!" I have had many jobs I enjoyed and was proud of but never did I wear tee shirts that pronounced it. I wore company logo shirts to promote my comany. What company forces their employees to wear shirts pronouncing "I love my job!"? That's a red flag to customers. In summary, the service is horrible. The food is not accurate. They will not accommodate you allowing you an opportunity to order what you want. They are expensive and the food is not exclusive to this chain, so the value is not there. It was not fun or pleasant for us and this experience extends over years. I think I have been their 6 times and each time was a horror show. I'm done. I can't wait until they go out of business and close up shop so something else can move in. TRH will eventually join the list of other chains that shrink and eventually go under. I love Texas Roadhouse. I don't care if it's a chain. Every time I go there I get great service and great food. I love their soft, hot rolls with that cinnamon butter. I mean it's like eating fried dough! My steaks are always cooked perfectly, grilled to perfection, flavorful and juicy. I always get their loaded baked potato which goes perfectly with my 16 oz. Strip steak. Try the Craft Mango beer, it's delicious and I am going to buy it for myself to keep in my own fridge. Our waiter, Matt, gave me an ice cold frosted mug every time. It's things like that, that make a difference. The service is always great, the prices are reasonable, and the meals always come out in a timely manner. I love this Texas Roadhouse. I visit at least one or more times per week for either lunch, dinner, or takeout. They are my favorite go to restaurant for a wholesome meal. Everything they make is phenomenal; some of my favorite dishes include their bone-in ribeye, fall off the bone ribs, grilled shrimp, beef tips, loaded mashed potatoes, and chicken Caesar salad with homemade Caesar dressing. Yum! Their bread with cinnamon butter is to die for! When dinning in, to complement all their dishes I always get a frozen Margarita with a Patron Kicker. I had the Country Fried Sirloin Steak. The gravy was extremely salty, the sirloin was breaded so thickly, it took a bit of " fork and knife" work to find the sirloin which was pretty small. After removing the breading, there was little left to eat. I could have eaten the same quality meal at that place where they have all the BIG rocking chairs in front. Never expected to get such a poor quality meal from the Roadhouse. Hope you rethink keeping this entree on the menu. The warm bread and cinnamon butter were a killer start--soft, sweet, and super satisfying. I tried the Twisted Mozzarella Sticks and they were crunchy with great cheese pulls. My 16oz ribeye came smothered in mushrooms (like seriously covered), which I loved. Sides were solid: buttery corn and mashed potatoes topped with cheddar and bacon--no complaints there. I've eaten at this location numerous times and have never been disappointed. Love the fun atmosphere and the friendly people that work there. Great steaks and burgers. When I went the other night, I ordered chicken for the 1st time ever (because I felt like having a salad and prefer chicken as the protein on salad) and even their chicken is excellent. I also had a side-kicker of ribs which was good too! They also have a take out window in the back that I have used many times. Just order on-line and they send you a text when it's ready and you do not need to even go into the restaraunt. There are dedicated parking spaces for take out. Very disappointing, my wife's NY Boneless Strip steak was very dry and tough. My beef kadobs were also tough and dry. Both dinners were cooked to perfection, so it must be the meat or beef they started with. They must be using USDA Select or something ungraded to control costs. As with everyplace I pulled up the restaurant info- was shocked to read not only are the tenders made in-house, all of their sides and salad dressing are too! The chicken critters (7 pieces) are always fresh, well seasoned, and not oily. Comes with 2 sides. Sweet potato melts in your mouth with the honey cinnamon butter, side salad is great portion and not boring - tomato, cheddar cheese, homemade croutons, egg(had mine without) carrot and red cabbage. Buttermilk ranch is delicious! They give you 4 buns and butter with your order. Been ordering here for two years now and have not tried a steak because I never want to pass up the chicken!
