My car started shaking on the freeway, and as a responsible driver, I immediately pulled off. I searched for the nearest auto shop, and Texasland Tire & Auto was the closest option. I didn't want to risk driving it any further and risking more damage. They knew I didn't really have a choice. After running a basic diagnostic, I was handed an invoice for $239 for one hour -- $254.52 total with fees and tax -- just to tell me what was wrong. No repairs. No parts. Just a diagnostic. What made it worse was that Tom told me the $240 diagnostic fee would NOT go toward the repair if I chose to have them fix the issue. So even if I stayed and spent more money with them, that amount wouldn't be credited. When you're stuck, off the freeway, and worried about your safety, you trust the nearest place to be fair. Instead, I walked away feeling like the situation was taken advantage of. What makes this even more disappointing is that their website says they are a faith-based, family-owned independent shop. Faith-based businesses should operate with integrity, transparency, and fairness -- especially when someone is clearly in a bind. I understand businesses need to make money. I respect skilled labor. But handing someone a $254 invoice for a one-hour diagnostic -- with no credit toward repairs -- feels excessive and unethical. Do better. read more

The owner is not a trusted person I took my truck to get a alignment I told them to not do any work if they can't do the alignment, He called me and told me they can't do the alignment that it was going to be like 1500 dollars I told him I will take it to my mechanic to change the parts that we need. told him not to do anything that I would pick it up and bring it back when have all parts replaced he charged me 89.00 for something I didn't authorize him to do or sign for thats what they charge for a full alignment at other places don't go with them. These creeps quoted me $130 for a battery over the phone, then tried to make it $280 when I got there because I would have to pay to "test it" (as though I don't know the difference between a battery problem and an alternator problem). They also wanted to keep my car for TWO DAYS, probably to break some extra stuff, based on their yelp reviews. When I told them that Firestone had quoted me $145, they said they would give me the battery for that, but not installation; then they proceeded to badmouth Firestone for being a chain when they're "privately owned", despite the fact that the sign says GoodYear. It was surreal. I took it to Firestone on Midway & Rosemeade. It was $157 with tax, they gave me no grief, and my car was ready in less than an hour. I'm off to write them a 5* review. This is an updated post... I am still bringing my car to this location. They sanitized your car when you drop it off and when you pick it up. There is little to no contact during the process and have taken huge precautions to make sure you are not in a crowd of waiting people. My car was in and out and the guy made sure to wipe everything down even when no one was watching. Prices are reasonable and the customer service is always great! read more

I have found Texasland to be extremely honest and fair for their services. We have used them for 2 sets of tires and they always have friendly service. I had a slow leak and was told by two places they couldn't patch it but Texasland showed me it was indeed safe to patch and that did not a new tire. Very honest of them. read more

My wife called for a quote for a 2012 Volkswagen battery. They told us that it was going to be $125. We got to the shop and they changed he price to close to $200. I spoke with the sales person (probably the owner) and he backpedaled and said he would try to find us a $125 battery, but there would still be installation charges. He then tried to tell us that we needed to have "checks" done to make sure it's the battery and not the harness or the alternator. I've owned and maintained Volkswagens for over 12 years. She made it clear that she only needed a battery. It wasn't the alternator, because once the car started it kept running. It was a battery issue. I'm mainly pissed of because I feel like they tried to charge my wife more because she is a woman. We spent our time and gas to drive to this shop from The Colony to Carrollton. The fact that he told her that "we need to check to see if it is the battery" is the second most infuriating thing. She knows what she is talking about. How dare you question her! He didn't change his tune until I showed up pissed because of the price difference. We mentioned firestone (which was cheaper, and we had the car back the same day. He wanted to keep it over night to change a fucking battery.) When you call a store and ask what the price is the response should be the TOTAL COST, not parts cost. I expect that there will be a labor fee. Every other place we called included the labor fee. We will never go to this "Goodyeat" again. They are unprofessional, try to take advantage of customers, and don't quote accurate prices. I wish I could give this company a 0 star review. You talked down to my wife and tried to screw her. What's worse is when I showed up and you still talked to me like I was stupid. Hope this business goes away. There is a reason why Firestone is there. read more

I've been coming to Texasland Tire & Auto for 7 years (AKA Rosemead Automotive). I've bought new sets of tires 3 or 4 times between our 2 cars, and they've always been helpful selecting our best deal. They do all the oil changes, etc., and have been a pleasure to deal with. One time my AC blew up and they spent time diagnosing it, but told me the Ford dealership would be able to help me quicker - I really appreciated that. They also earned the 5th star for driving me home on a slower day (don't expect slow days, though!). Always easy to deal with, they don't recommend unnecessary repairs, and keep our vehicles running great for 123,000 and 80,000 miles. Definitely recommend. read more

***HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE DEAL IS WITH MONICA M.*** I live about a mile and half from Rosemeade Automotive/Goodyear, and my family has had several repairs done by them on different cars. Every time, they have been honest, far more competitive than the other places we checked, and they did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. When my daughters' used car needed multiple repairs, they did it quickly and affordably. When my check engine light came on and City Garage wanted to charge me $1500 to fix the problem, Rosemeade Auto quoted $400. A good mechanic you can trust is a god-send, and I wouldn't take my car elsewhere. They are good guys. I suspect the other reviewer was one of those people that wouldn't be satisfied under any circumstances. Hope I never have to deal with a customer like her. Very trust-worthy and good pricing They shopped tire prices and brands for me so that I could get what I wanted. They showed competence in repairing my car as well. They saved me over $1000 when another shop said I needed to replace my Catalytic converter. They showed me that my car was ok. My bill was $0. Another time I took my car there for inspection and tires and my bill was less than what they originally quoted. I have never had that happen at an auto repair place. I am a mechanical engineer. I had a really good experience working with Tom. I had an old car that had broken down towed to his shop and felt he was super honest and straight with me. He told me, although he could've made a hefty profit on the $3,100 quote for the transmission, that it would probably be better for me to get another car and even recommended what makes to get and which ones not to get. Although I wasn't charged anything--unlike other mechanics, who wanted as much as $100+ just to take a look at it--I felt I was really taken care of as a customer. It was refreshing to deal with this local, family-owned business. After buying another car, you can bet I immediately took it to him when the tire was leaking air. He was able to quickly replace the valve core seal kit for under $30. read more

****NEVER GO HERE*** So, here's my story: I had a coupon for an oil change - $15.00...left the car there to go grocery shopping at Wal-mart. Showed up an hour later - my car was STILL on the lift...uh what? My boyfriend drops me off - I go in and the guy tells me that I need a new oil pan. Once again...uh what? So I say "show me." So they walk me to the garage and tell me that the oil pin to the pan is unusable - so I need a WHOLE NEW PAN and they need to do an engine degrease too. I immediately called my boyfriend crying that I can't just drop $700 (that was their estimate) on a new oil pan. So, my Superman comes to my rescue. Turns out the idiots stripped the oil pin and refused to attempt to put it back or replace the oil pin. The threads were worn down, but since the pan has soft metal you can put in a new pin, no problem...so that's what my boyfriend did. The cost, you ask? $1.79 plus tax at Auto Zone. But those jerk-offs at Rosemeade Auto wouldn't let my boyfriend work on the car on the premises and kept insisting WE pay to have it towed. Um, no. You brok-ey, you fix-ey. They didn't back down, so we came to a crap compromise and they pushed the car off the lift into the parking lot and we put the pin in. Oh, and they drained all the oil out of the car, so they gave us a bucket full of oil to put back in. It was probably the oil they drained out. So, moral of the story, don't go here, don't trust these guys the are are not interested in helping you they just want your money. read more

I dont even want to give them one star! I had one of those buy with me deals..3 oil changes for 29$ .. I never let anyone do my oilchanges, I do them my self.. but this deal seemed good..so i took it and went in.. Gave him my certificate and the owner was like hmm do you have your email from them that you bought it? i was like why? i have the certificate.. thats all they said i needed.. but no he insisted on seeing the email or purchase email..so lucky for me i had an Iphone, so i pulled it up.. The guys didnt seem to like that part.. So i give my keys and wait. finally after 45 mins they get to my car.. Take it to the back and I see the car being worked on.. Im bored, so i stand by and watch from the window.. The guy doing the oilchange notices that im there and seems to keep looking over at me.. The shady manager comes to me and tries to get me to have them service other stuff, engine light and fluids, i say no ill do that at the dealer.. tries to say hes better than the dealer.. i pass. that didnt seem to make him happy either.. so i keep watching.. he puts on the filter, puts the oil in my car, then he looks at me and i get this funny feeling that hes up to no good.. he then lifts the car back up and does something then pulls it down and they bring the car up front.. I get in , go home and park it...i worked from home the next day and then the next day drove it to work.. i get off work and go to a friends apt and hang out till night.. At night i drive home and the engine oil light comes on.. so i rush back and park.. lucky i didnt drive far.. The scam artists they are didnt tighten the oil filter on purpose..left it really loose.. all the oil had leaked out.. OMG what a bunch of idiots.. They need to be shut down! NEVER GOING BACK! It is rare nowadays to have a shop with great service like this one. I came in for a tire repair and they did a great job, explain the work and knowledgeable when answering customer's questions. I'm writing another 5-star review for this place after another year because sometimes service changes, but it's been consistently excellent for me at this place. A trusted mechanic is like gold and this has been one of those places for me. My entire family uses this place now and we've all had a consistently good experience. They understand that my sons have older-model cars and not a lot of money to spend on them, so they don't suggest things that aren't needed and do a great job of keeping everything running and safe. Great shop! Had new tires installed. They were about $20 less for install than anywhere else. Also had tire pressure sensor lights coming on for no reason, and they took care of them at no cost. Even did a free test drive to help find a small vibration my car was having. They also do free visual inspections. Never had a shop be so professional, nice, and so easy to deal with. Drama free! I came in after dark, around 6:15 on icy cold night with nail I'd just found in tire. It was leaking air. I knew by the next day it would be flat in my garage and even if I could drive it, it would Sunday so alot of places would be closed. I felt a little desperate. I pulled in just as mgr/employee was locking up. When I asked if he could take a nail out, he didn't slow down a bit walking to his truck but gave me the encouraging words "you're not going to find anyone open this late." I drove down the road to ProQuick Lube who were also locking up. I asked the mger/emplyee(?) for the same help. I could tell by the look on his face he didn't want to at first but he took the nail out, fixed the hole, and filled it up with air with a smile on his face. I told him my experience at Rosemead and he said "no, I could just not do that to you or anyone". I had not wanted to go to Rosemead in the first place because when my elderly father had been in town and needed auto assistance, he used them because location was convenient. However, he had felt they had tried to take advantage of him and advised me not to use them. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE....They are snakes! I love Goodyear but this location is independently owned and you can definitely tell. They will pinch you for every cent they can and do not care to haev repeat customers. I have been a Goodyear card holder for over 11 years but this location puts them to shame. They take advantage of female customers and will back track their statements once you call corporate while in their location or bring a male with car experience. I purchased 2 tires from them within 1 month the tire needed repair. They told me that the tire had no warranty because I did not purchase it (mind you i paid $420 for 2 tires for my Infiniti) so how coudl there be no warranty? I called customer service while in the locationa & because my tires were not the Goodyear brand i had to call the makers customer service. Once I spoek to them they told me I had a 1 year warranty!! I asked them to speak to the guys at Goodyear and they immediately were like oh yeah you do have a warranty through the maker. I was furious! Instead of telling me this upfront they chose to try to get me to purchase a whole new tire. Mark and his son DO NOT CARE about anything other than fattening their wallets! They had my car for 14 days and when I picked my car up it completely stopped working with in 20 minutes and had to be towed. Once at a dealership I found out that Rosemeade Automotive had not reprogrammed a part the way they should have. On 6/21 I contacted the Goodyear store at 3680 Rosemeade PKWY Dallas Tx 75287 972 306 2326, Tim answered the phone. I described that my 1997 GMC Safari AC was not working. I was told probably need Freon I ask what estimated cost and was told $48.52. I gave him my name said I would be in shortly or first thing in the morning. I arrived at around 8 am meet with Tom Zook or McNamara and explain my call with Tim and was told by Tom I need a diagnostic test at a cost of $97.00 and the Freon would be an additional $59.95. I reminded him of what Tim and quoted over the phone and again he repeated the diagnostic test at a cost of $97.00 minus my $15.00 coupon for total $87.86. I agreed and gave approval with the idea I would find out specifically what was wrong with the AC. I later received a call and was quoted $1,100 in repairs would be required. I declined the repairs and the Freon. I picked up the Van and paper work later that day then notice I received no test data all though the receipt listed the fields for the data. I first thought I was missing a document so the next morning I went by the shop and explain that I must being missing a document with the test results. I was told I was not and that I declined the work, which I thought, was strange since I had not gone there with a quote request but instated to purchase a diagnostic test to establish the details of the problem. I then pointed out the receipt had the test result location on the form, but no data. Tom then told me where the link was and that the compressor needed to be replaced. I did not receive the service I had paid for as described. The reason for the testing like any testing you pay for is to obtain the test results that I did not receive even when the form receipt listed the fields. I only received a quote which was not requested. read more

I brought my car here after blowing a tire. The tire was expensive (run flat) but Tom and his team did a great job putting the new one on. He also followed up with me later on that day to make sure everything was running smoothly (great customer service!). A month later, I popped the same tire (Dallas potholes suck or I'm just a really bad driver) and Tom and his team were able to order me a new tire and put it on for free because luckily there was a warranty on it. He also topped off my coolant and fluids free of charge. Fast forward to last night, hit a divy in the road and popped the same tire. Took it back to Tom and again received great service. There was still a warranty on the tire and they were able to get a new tire on the car today. The level of service here is exceptional and I recommend bringing your cars here for tires, service, etc. read more

Beware of their hard sell and higher prices. Since I wouldn't authorize them to do extra work, they overcharged me on the tires. When I pointed out to them that they advertise the tires on their website for $10 less they didn't bother giving me my refund of $40. The tires on the car were from them and only had less than 18000 miles on them, but they wouldn't give me any warranty on them because they said it was my son's fault they didn't hold up. read more
