There are a lot of differing opinions for Tex's Star Grill. A lot of people seem to enjoy the burgers and gyros but do not appreciate the relatively high price for a drive-through. I should point out that while the prices can be higher compared to chain fast food, this is a smaller restaurant, which makes each order from scratch. Tex's Star Grill is a hidden treasure. Their gyros are awesome and loaded with tender lamb, onions, tomato and served with tzatziki sauce. The greek salad is a yummy mix of greens, feta, kalamata olives, onions and tomato (you can add gyro meat upon request). I prefer the gyros and greek salads here as opposed to Paul's Gyros in Ft. Worth. They also have some pretty scrumptious burgers and fried pickles! read more

Hubby went to the drive thru minutes before closing time - kudos to this place! We recently discovered the Gyros - they are very tasty - not greasy & their awesome fries completes the meal. The cucumber sauce was in the bag & sodas were sized up as we requested. Did I mention they have veggie burgers? So everyone in the family is happy! Just wish they had better straws. We love Tex's. We've been eating here for a few years, they have excellent burgers, made to order. The "house sauce" is what makes their burgers for me. some of the other things on the menu havent been too great, but you can't go wrong with their burgers. read more

Worst service EVER!! We have visited Tex star grill many times, eating in and drive thru and usually received ok service but tonight was very different and we will not be going back. The owner is to blame for this!! George (the owner) is so cheap he had to look at our receipt twice before giving us the side sauces that actually came with our meal and other we paid for, none of them were in the bag and after waiting for 3 trips out to our car to correct it and to see our receipt to make sure we ordered what we said we had, can't believe the owner was more concerned about his 25 cent sauce then customer service.That's when we got fed up and asked for money back and that's when George got really rude with my wife ripping the bag out her hands, we think he resold the food, certainly a health code violation. read more

We tried this place after seeing it on Yelp. If I ever want a gyros again, I'll go back. Wasn't all that impressed with the place. My partner had their hamburger. Be sure to wear a bib and hang over your plate when eating your hamburger. Very messy. read more

Man I am a regular and they have a ton of them. I love the people who work the check out counter cause if I order something different they go crazy. The place is VERY CLEAN and the owner is proud of it. This is a mom and pop place but the do have a large variety on there menu. You can supper size any meal if you want to. read more

We love this place. The owner seems to always be there greeting customers and keeping an eye on things. The place is spotless. As for the food, the burgers are wonderful as are many other items on the menu. The ingredients are clearly visible and you can see they use name brand ingredients rather than the cheap Sysco grub that one unfortunately expects in this kind of eatery Good food, well maintained and friendly. I had the gyro meal and it was very good. On par with some hoity toity Greek restaurants I've been to. I don't know why folks could go to McDonald's or sonic when they could have an amazing gyro from here. I'd recommend getting just the gyro rather than the whole meal. The gyro is huge. First time here with my wife. It satisfied her burger craving. Food was delicious. Will definitely return in the future.

We've not eaten inside but have gone through drive-thru a few times. The burgers are big & delicious. Greek salads are pretty good. The downside are the prices. Everything seems to be overpriced by 1-2 dollars. read more

This has got to be on my top five list for favorite restaurants in the metroplex. They serve up a vast array of great food, but what always keeps me coming back is their Chicago favorites, like the Italian beef, combos, gyros, and Rubens. Being from Chicago, I live food like that, and was glad to learn that I live so close to this hidden gem of a restaurant. You get what you pay for here and way more! Recently moved back after a decade away and I still haven't had a better Italian roast beef sandwich in Texas! They serve the Auju as well! So, the Big Guy's been coming here without me for ages. Given the ice-slick roads we have this week - and my ridiculous amounts of time off (happy dance!!) - he drove me over for lunch. He said the burgers were meh, because he's partial to the gyro. Like a good woman, I went against his recommendations and got a burger and fries. I like the burger - it's like what Burger King could be if they made a really good burger. The fries are nice and thick and have a good, light seasoning to them. We each got a combo meal and he added an extra gyro and it was $20 - but there are always coupons around for this joint, so save a couple bucks and check it out. read more

Delicious burgers on toasty buns. I usually get the Tex Burger, which is a cheeseburger with pastrami added. That is *not* something I would usually get, but I ordered it on a whim my first time, and it's so good! I believe I had a gyro one time, but I prefer the burger. I also tried the chicken fried steak meal and it was pretty good (and a large portion). We've tried a few of the fried side items, like the mushrooms, but honestly most of those items are overpriced. In general, everything here is $.75 to $1 more than it should be. If the prices were adjusted, we'd eat here more often! read more

Being new to the area we thought we'd give this place a try. The owner left Obama a message on his singage out front saying something to the effect of " Hey Mr. President- I built this place myself"- not sure what that's all about, but adds a little spunk and character either way. My husband had the Western Bacon and I the Golden Burger/ pastrami. YUMMY! The burgers were great! Not too greasy, big and fresh toppings. Bun was fresh, mine came on Texas Toast which is a nice change from a regular bun. The fries were good too. I got a side salad which was just a bunch of iceberg with a slice of tomato for $3- wouldn't get that again. We have been back and it's always just as good as the first time. Staff was incredibly friendly and even brought our food to us outside and checked back later. Knew the menu well and offered suggestions. read more

Love the chili cheeseburgers here...charbroiled with a great smokey flavor. The chili tastes like it comes from a can, but that's not necessarily bad. Everything is made fresh to order and the staff is so nice. It's a little pricey for fast food....an even $10.00 for a burger, fries, and soda. I've been coming here for about 5 years, and they raise their prices pretty often. A "bowl" of chili is the same size as the side that comes with the chili cheeseburger. Tiiiiiiiny. All that being said, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean and the owner is always there touching tables and greeting his customers. A lot can be said for that. read more

Very good hamburgers, though I come here to get my gyro fix taken care of. And hey, good Greek salad as well! The fries are good, but the onion rings are better. This place has great food. It's always fresh and prepared just how you want it. It's a comfort food place, with great burgers, hotdogs, fries, chicken sandwiches, and chicken fried steak. I would recommend the gyros (a surprising treat at a burger place). The spicy house sauce found in pumps by the drink machines is my favorite french fry dipping sauce.
