poor quality control - we spent $2000 on marble tile from them (5-10 per square foot). Before placing our order they told us we could inspect all the tile when we came to pick it up. After paying in full, when we went to pick up the tile they told us that it came in bundles of 8 tiles and we could only inspect the unwrapped bundles, exposing only parts of 2/3 of the tile. They brought the tile to the truck and the employees grumbled and complained when I said I wanted to inspect each unwrapped bundle. They were too busy unloading a truck, and acted as though I was a high maintainence b*tch. If they had paid that much for tile or anything else, I am sure they would have wanted to inspect it too, especially since there are no returns. We got it home and opened the bundles and 15-20% are unusable. Some tiles had big cracks through them and had been glued back together. Some had air bubbles from when the stone formed, creating a hole that you could see through in the center of the tile. Some of them had cutting marks in the tile face, permanent deep scratches and at least one tile face had been polished on half the tile while the other half was unpolished. Went to Tez Marble today to finish up the last piece of my kitchen remodel and purchased two 8ft slabs of Quartz Countertops. Talked to Michael over the phone on Monday and was very impressed with his customer service and knowledge of the product. In a world where Customer Service is nonexistent, he definitely nailed it! We are remodeling our kitchen and spent 3 full days looking for countertops. We went to many granite places and walked out with not seeing anything we liked. Then we went to Tez Mable in Oakland and found the best selection for what we were looking for. We worked with Michael who spent a lot of time with us, was very patient and was very easy to work with. We just had the quartz installed and it looks fantastic. I am replying to Tez Marbles' response to my original review, posted about 18 months ago. My original review is for the correct Tez Marbles, located in Oakland, CA. Tez Marbles is correct, there Oakland shop is located very far from Long Beach. Tez Marbles' reference to Long Beach is likely the result of looking up my account's info which had Long Beach listed as my address of residence. As a licensed general contractor in California, our company does residential/ light commercial remodels in both Southern California (LA County/Long Beach) and Northern California (Bay Area/Oakland). This would explain why I would be writing a review for a business in Oakland while being from Long Beach. This scenario is not very unusual. Regarding Tez's comment about his shop never having post "signs like this" is obviously false. He is relying on the assumption that I posted to the wrong business for that statement to stand firm. The hand written sign that was taped to the pallet of tiles was the main cause of the discrepancy. I do recall the sign being taken down immediately after we canceled our order. Tez Marbles' other comment "we always side with the customer if there is any question about price" is also a false claim and relies on the same assumption I had the wrong business. He is obviously trying to disassociate my negative review from their actual business. It is false because obviously they did not side with us. In addition, "... 'always' siding with the customer regarding pricing" is nothing more than boasting a promise that is impractical and nearly impossible to fulfill. I did give Tez Marbles one more additional star for his efforts to reconcile the issue by sending a reply thru a private message. It is worth mentioning though that I only received one (1) reply. Although Tez claimed to have replied to me several times. I initially wanted to add two more stars, but all these false statements made by Tez convinced me that his efforts, although genuine, were not sincere. PS. It seems as if they have polished up their customer service and/or maybe restructured their business conduct. Their reviews have picked up. These guys are great. Michael is awesome to work with, he makes everything so easy. My wife and I are real estate brokers who also rehab homes. When it came to remodeling our own bathroom Michael took the time to show my wife every slab in the color she wanted. That meant getting out the crane and moving each and every slab. Awful customer service. I'm a contractor, my customer selected a synthetic quartz counter at Tez. After fabrication we discovered a variation in color between slabs. Because the slabs were cut they would not replace them. I could have made everything work with one replacement slab. I would have been willing to absorb the cost of removing and returning the defective product, picking up the replacement, re-fabricating and reinstalling the replacement, but..... I've been in business twenty something years in the Bay Area, my partner likewise and my fabricator almost 30. We all felt that our normal vendors would have stood behind their product. I'm somewaht at the beck and call of my clients, but I'll do my best to avoid ever using Tez again. read more

We had a very good experience with the people at Tez in Oakland. Look for Chris or Mike and they'll be able to help you in your project. Was able to answer our questions and gave us pointers on how to install our bathroom tiles. I would have given this rating a 5 if it was easy to find. Yes, you can see it on 880 freeway but hard to get too. There are no signs to direct you to get to it. Ion't be surprised if some of there prospective customers will just turn around after being frustrated to find it. If they want more business, they should improve the website and signs to this location. read more

They have a excellent and very huge showroom that they are perpetually extending, and the selection is bigger than most others. They were very helpful and knowledgeable, and gave me a great price. If you want to remodel your house i m sure you ll find whatever you need. Before you buy your tiles i would recommend you to check their prices of the natural stone. Without doubt, the most unscrupulous vendors with whom I have ever dealt. Because of some difficulty (sold defective granite), they were giving me a wholesale price, then lied about it when they gave me the retail price instead (I have checked the price with another of their store's locations). They had lied about a phone call with the installer whom they claimed said there was not a crack, but it was a vein in the granite. What they didn't know was that I was listening into the call. The sales manager, who was not on the call, then repeated the lie to us over the phone. Very poor business conduct. Would never deal with them again and have recommended against it when other people have come into the house. read more

I have mixed feelings about Tez Marble, but I feel that everyone should know what they are getting into. As noted by other reviewers, the selection here is great and the salespeople seem knowledgeable and fairly helpful, but this is not really a retail store so don't expect the same level of service. And this is especially important, if you have any problems, don't expect any cooperation from the owner! My story is that I purchased a large quantity (three full crates, 600 SF) of travertine pavers for use on a patio and arranged for delivery. They don't have a forklift or tailgate truck so I arranged for some people to help with a hand unload. They arrived right on time, and we proceeded to unload the stone. During the unload, I found that a significant number of pieces were broken in the crate. We set those aside and called the salesperson to determine what to do. I was told to see if I could use them for cut pieces, and if not, then bring them back and they would exchange them. This was written on the delivery invoice and signed off by me and the driver. A few weeks later I loaded up the broken pieces and took them back, where I talked to the salesperson and the driver who delivered the stone. As we were getting ready to take the broken pieces out of my van, the owner comes walking briskly up and starts yelling first at the salesperson and driver and then at me, accusing me of mishandling and dropping the stone, saying that none of the stone is broken in the other crates, and on and on. After about five minutes of ranting and raving, he storms away. We resume the process of replacing the damaged stone pieces, then the two guys that are helping me get a call to come to the office. They apologize and get a forklift operator to help me get the replacement stone, and I load up as quickly as I can and get out of there. And I don't plan to go back! So if everything goes well you might have a good experience, but good luck if you have any problems with the materials purchased there! read more

Great show room. Wonderful tile and slab selection. Michael is quite friendly, however, I felt like 2 of the women who worked there were quite snooty. One actually seemed to be following me around the show room. Each time I looked at her, she pretended she was on her phone--but somehow she was following my every step. Quite odd indeed. Tez Marble was recommended to me after the original travertine tile I had picked out at another store for our master bath remodel was discontinued and the store did not have enough for my order. I was stressed because I was running out of time to pick tile and because I didn't want to start the selection process all over again. This was my first experience renovating our home. We began working on our kitchen in August and it is finally finished!!! Terrible place with terrible people! I bought some travertine tiles for my kitchen floor. I got the tiles with mold!!!! They told me they are just wet and dirty. I brought the tiles home, put them in my garage and the next day in the morning when I went there I was hit by the terrible smell of the mold! Tez Marble agreed to exchange the tiles. I got nice and clean tiles this time. Few weeks later turned out I need more tiles to finish the floor... I went there and guess what I got after paying??? Yes! Tiles with mold again!!!! What the heck! This time I was told that even if they have some mold it won't grow when I put the tiles on the floor!!!!!!!!! Really????? I didn't have a choice but take the tiles (I need only a few more) and my contractor bleached them and cleaned them so we could use them. The material over there is not a good quality!!! I was going to buy more tiles - this time for my baths. But I'm not gonna come back to Tez Marble in Oakland! Never! They only have a great looking showroom but the material and the people there are terrible!!! read more
