I'm a fitness hoe and I go to a lot of places. Tfl is by far the best gym in Downey and surrounding areas. I really feel the push here. They work on your form. It's a no frills place where I have learnt a lot about lifting. The ladies at 10am are hilarious. There's people of all ages 20s-80s and all fitness abilities. A Cautionary Review for Women Considering This Gym I've been a member of this gym for several years and feel a responsibility to share my personal experience The gym is owned and operated solely by a man named Cesar, who also leads every class. Over time, I began to notice recurring patterns of unprofessional behavior that made me, and others, uncomfortable. Many women who come to this gym are dealing with personal struggles--divorce, low self-esteem, emotional stress--and it became clear to me that Cesar uses these situations to build inappropriate, relationships with clients. He frequently initiates conversations that go beyond the scope of a trainer-client dynamic. On multiple occasions, I witnessed behavior that felt more like flirtation or emotional manipulation than coaching. For example, he would single women out during or after class for prolonged one-on-one conversations, sometimes messaging them privately under the pretense of offering "support." What initially seems like friendliness begins to feel like grooming over time. The environment of the gym reflects this lack of boundaries. There's frequent drama among clients, mostly stemming from personal entanglements with the owner. It creates an uncomfortable atmosphere that distracts from the purpose of being there--to focus on health and wellness. Instead of feeling encouraged or motivated, many women (myself included) began to feel anxious, judged, or pressured. There are also no staff members, no accountability structure, and no formal boundaries in place. Ladies TFL is not a safe space. The trainer oversteps boundaries and creates inappropriate relationship with the members. It makes everyone uncomfortable and there's so much DRAMAAA. His whole instagram is fake. That gym is chaotic and full of backstabbing. Members hate eachother and Cesar laughs. Invest your money in a different gym where you get actual results. His saying "TFL is not for everyone" that's sad because he knows he can't win the allegations cause they are true. read more

I came here when a coworker at the hospital i work for recommended it. It's not very far from us; so i decided to take a class. I will never come back to this establishment. It feels like the owner or coach is controlling and somewhat of a womanizer. He has mainly female members and he seems to feel empowered by that. Not a good look. Very unprofessional. My journey with TFL started with the Drop 2 Sizes (D2S) program in January 2018. During this 8-week program, I dropped 2 sizes. I had such great results with it, that I completed D2S 2 additional times. I went from a size 20 (XXL) to 14 (L). I had not had this type of success with an exercise program EVER! There are several reasons this program worked for me: the outstanding training and coaching provided by Caesar and Dorian, the nutritional component, the educational component, and the variety of exercise classes offered. The family environment was an added bonus! The enthusiasm and passion Caesar demonstrates makes you want to do your best and succeed in your fitness goals. He is invested in his clients and their progress, which is something I had never experienced before. Caesar takes working out to a different level. He has organized holiday (family) workouts for the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and even an annual anniversary party to celebrate the establishment of TFL. He has created a TFL team to participate in local 5K's. He signed up TFL to participate in the 2019 Downey Holiday Parade. He has organized opportunities for gym participants to give back to the community by volunteering at the LA Food Bank. He works with local schools to educate children on nutrition and exercise. The picture on the left is from a year ago today. I thought I was "in shape" going to the gym 3 days a week and doing my own mediocre workouts at home. I have been working out with TFL for close to a year now, and it's made me appreciate fitness in a completely new way. This place is awesome! I signed up for the D2S class and I quickly realized it was the best decision I'd made. I'm 22, and despite not being in the heavy side, I knew I needed to make a change in my eating habits and build some muscle. Joining this fitness center was one of the best decisions of my life. Jackie, Caesar and Dorian are all amazing. Joined franchise gyms for about 2 years and wasn't getting the results I wanted mainly because I lacked the discipline and I had super anxiety walking into the public gyms. Throughout my teens & early 20's I was very athletic. After college, however, I began to let myself go. Working lots of overtime and maintaining a family, I let my fitness level go and gained a large amount of weight. During that time I also suffered some injuries to my knees & back. Last year, I finally made the commitment to improve my life and I joined TFL fitness and met Cesar. I opted for the personal training and committed to 3x per week training sessions.
