Went today for my son's ear pain. The wait was short and the staff were so kind. We were in and out in under 45 minutes. They had water and juice available for patients in the lobby, and the front desk attendant offered us snacks while we waited. The PA who saw my son was so patient and knowledgeable. I came into the emergency room via 911 on 10/25 and was treated rudely. Patients should NOT be the target of jokes of the staff that work there. I heard EVERYTHING. The only thing that mattered was that I had insurance. Your night time ER staff on Saturdays needs to treat patients with dignity - not as jokes. read more

This is my second visit to this location for a COVID Test for travel. The first time was in December. At that time We walked in with an appointment and waited a very short time before being called in. We returned in an hour, was told the results and given a letter of the negative result to provide for proof. Today we returned for another COVID Test for travel. Again we arrived with appointments. We filled out the necessary paperwork and waited approximately 25 minutes. We were called in and the test was done quickly and efficiently and we were on our way. Visited on 12/15. Waited over an hour to even get on a list (administrative stuff for an accident). Then waited 3 hours to even get in a room. Once in a room waited another hour to see someone and get x-rays. After the 15 min x-ray wated another 40 min then I left. They said they were calling in the script and it didn't get called in until I called them 3 times, the first of which they didn't even have the facility I requested in all that admin papers that I filled out...the second time they checked and it hadn't been called in. The third time they finally called it in and I got it a day later. My medical notes say "patient walked out before we could talk to them" lol...Might need a new name other than "Urgent Care" nothing here is urgent. read more

Made an appointment online and stated the reason on intake forms and to the front desk. I was billed upfront and THEN told that they don't treat the reason for my visit at urgent care. They refused to give me a refund, even after I explained that I was out of work and didn't have insurance, because a nurse simply took my blood pressure and temperature. Not hardly anyone in lobby yet well over a half hour wait..... even with an appointment.. even longer wait once you get in the exam room you're behind six other people..... could've made an appointment with any Dr and been seen quiker ..this really will put you behind if you have other things scheduled....smh.... I brought my wife here yesterday because we have both been sick, but I found out from my doctor that I have strep. So, in our appointment the doctor (an older white gentleman) asked why we thought she had it too, & I explained that we've obviously kissed. He then stated that was "tmi"... We are adults & we are married... I'm not sure what married adults DON'T kiss & I thought this comment was odd. Then, we are told my wife does not have strep & she just has a common cold. So, he tells us he's calling in a script for cold medicine & we're good to go. This is around 3pm. We called back three times last night and the script was never called in. We were told "it should have been called in right after your appointment." We were told "I will let the doctor know and he'll handle it immediately." None of this ever happened. I will be calling AGAIN this morning and/or going down there myself in person, but something tells me this isn't just an accident & we're being discriminated against for being a same-sex couple. All around really weird experience at this place & I will never be back or bring my loved ones here ever again. read more

This was a terrible experience! I was asked why I was being seen. I provided the information. The front desk person responded, "So sick"? The nurse was great! However, when the doctor came in, Dr. Craig Trigueiro. He was very abrupt and asked why I was there. I explained, and then he asked why I thought this was happening. I told him that the nurse had told him the results of my pressure, temperature, etc. He had me repeat myself several times as if I had not just answered those same questions . We discussed medications I was allergic to and could not take due to having Crohn's. He left the room to check my chart, as I am a Baycare patient. He returns and tells me my pressure is higher than usual. I should go home and monitor. I asked what about the headache. He proceeded to tell me to take a medication that we had already discussed that I could NOT take. He immediately says, "I can't prescribe opioids." I responded okay, as I am not familiar with what is and what is not an "opioid." He said he would give me something for nausea but nothing for my headache. He advised me to take medication that we previously discussed that I could not medically take. He rolled his eyes and shook his head when I told him who my "Baycare" specialist was. I asked if I should go to the ER to address my headache and blood pressure. He then responded we don't give opioids here, and we are not your primary. I replied, "I haven't asked for opioids." Dr. Craig Trigueiro then proceeded to add to my medical chart that I was seeking opioids. This is entirely false! The concern is that payment was taken after I explained why I was there. When I checked in, I should have been told that we can't address your headache pain. There is a problem with the type of care or lack of care Dr. Craig Trigueiro provides. Repeating key points after they've already been discussed is a key issue and catalyst for the lack of care and labeling of patients. read more

I had very short waits both times and have to say Andrew Kinney was the practitioner that Saw me and the best care I received since moving to Florida two years ago . I was feeling pretty bad and he was very thorough about finding exactly what was wrong with me. He had the best manners and didn't treat you like a walk-in but as if you were his patient . If I could give less than. 1 star I would. Patients are seen in the order in which they arrived. No one is prioritized. Example, we came on a Saturday morning because my husband needed an x-ray ( we believe he broke his wrist). There are eight people ahead of us so we had to wait. While we were here they brought in a child who was bleeding and in need of stitches. His parents were told there were 15 people ahead of them and it'll be a 3-hour wait. Obviously, they went somewhere else. This is not urgent care! This is simply an after-hours doctor office. read more

I was a walk-in today. I signed in and was called within 10 minutes later. I got my blood pressure and vitals taken. Then a nurse practitioner walked in and I knew from her facial expression something wasn't right. She proceeded to say with a nasty attitude that, You was told before that you can't get anymore refills on your blood pressure medication and you need to go get a primary doctor ASAP. I told her first off that I just received my insurance and cards in the mail this week. I can't get a primary doctor unless I have insurance and I made a appointment with a doctor but, they didn't have an appointment until the 1st of August. I took my last blood pressure medication this morning. She said look we are going to cancel what we have now and there's the door. I said that was rude. read more

If you need a "rapid" COVID test for travel they will get it done, just plan on everything being VERY late. We had two back-to-back appointment times. Per the instructions we arrived 30 minutes early, and were not called back until 1:15 AFTER our first pre-set appointment time. Then they said it would take maybe 30-60 minutes for the results, and guess what, we finally received them almost 2 hours later. Bottom line, you'll get you results, but they have no clue how to respect your schedule. They constantly said "it's busy", but these were preset appointments at times they created. The doctor that I seen here should not be allowed to practice medicine. I came in extremely sick and he brushed off my systems and said I'm fine. He was a smart ass and also was an asshole. Two days later my symptoms worsened and I had to be rushed from the ER to the hospital. After X-rays and cat scans they found out I had covid/pneumonia. Let me start this out with... Healthcare workers are under a lot of stress and I cannot imagine the stress level they are under. HOWEVER if you choose this as a profession then every patient should be treated equally and like they are your family! My mom is in her late sixties and. Severe diabetic. So she is in the high risk category when it comes to Covid! We are 99% she has had Covid since 12/31/2020. She has been at home fighting the virus and scared to death to go to emergency room. She recently started having shortness of breath and we finally convinced her to go to urgent care in hopes they could listen to her lungs and maybe do a chest X-ray. Her appointment was at 10:45 and she was out by 11! The doctor never touched her, never listened to her lungs and never ordered chest X-rays. He told her she had Covid (no test) and that she was over the hump. When she told him she was 66 and diabetic her simply said... you are only 4 years older than me and yes I saw you were diabetic. I wrote down all the symptoms she was having so the doctor could review the symptoms. He then asked her how old her daughter was. She replied 45 and he the. Said ohhh... We had an appointment for 2:00pm today for a Covid-19 test. (but don't you call it appointment because the staff will tell you it's only a "reservation" not an appointment) It's 3:20pm as I'm writing this and we still haven't been called. They keep sayin the nurse has the chart and we should continue waiting. My mom has to take an emergency trip because my grandma is in need of emergency surgery so you can imagine the emotional stress we're under. I understand this is not BayCare's fault and it's possible the staff here doesn't even have control over whatever else is causing these delays for me and all the others but why can't they be nicer about it? Why can't they show empathy? They didn't even apologize for the delay, not even once! They called her at 3:25 and she was out of there by 3:28. I made a Save Your Spot Appointment and it's such a joke. If you only have one provider. Don't take walk-in patients if you can't handle the work load. It is absolutely ridiculous. My appointment was at 12:30 and they said I have to wait for 7 other people at 12:30. This does not align with BayCare's mission and values as a former BayCare employee. It is unacceptable. Also, the receptionists at the front desk were unpleasant. They didn't seem to care about my concerns at all and it felt as if they were blaming me for the long wait times. If "Save Your Spot" isn't exactly an "appointment" then what is the point of this feature. To me, it had no significance since they claim that it's not an "appointment" time and I still have to wait for others that "walk-in" before me. On the website, it specifically states "If there are no time slots available for today, you can still walk-into* the location of your choice and we will do our best to get you seen as quickly as we can or you can look for an available time the following day." So, then why are you talking walk-in's before clients with "Save Your Spot" appointments. This location definitely needs to work on their professionalism and knowing the limits of the provider and/or providers and the location (to effectively provide timely and quality care). One positive aspect of this review would be that they sent me a text at 12:18 stating my reservation was pushed back to 1:01. However, I was already on my way to the location and that time had no significance when I got here. read more

I went to the BayCare Urgent Care on MLK jr Blvd in Tampa for a pre-employment drug screen. The front desk staff was so rude that I decided to go to a different location, and this one was closer to my house. The staff at this location were so friendly. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. Both employees at the front desk were very kind and helpful. They seemed a little busy, but they were handling it smoothly. I was called back within 5 minutes. The staff in the back were also very nice and experienced. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I was saying I would never go to BayCare again, but now I don't feel that way. Great place! read more

I went in with a broken foot scheduled by my workplace admin. they made me wait for 2 hours. The only thing they rush to do was take the drug screen. When it came to my actual injury they took forever and they don't actually issue pain relieving medicines there. They feel strongly that they're going to help with the war against opioids. The real problem is an illegal fentanyl production not opioid prescriptions for a real pain problems. What these people don't understand is that the reason why these drugs are on the market it's because they are the only things that work for pain. They're vegan over-the-counter pain pills don't work. read more

I was recently seen by nurse practitioner Shirlayne Marasco. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a medical professional. She walked in, didn't introduce herself, said "get in the bed" and pointed at it. She didn't listen to anything I had to say. I couldn't even complete a sentence because she would cut me off with, "okay, okay, okay",without even really listening to what I was saying. She told me there was nothing she could do for me. When I said I'd like for her to run my symptoms by the doctor she got crazy. Yelled "I don't answer to the doctor! This is over! We are done!" I asked to speak to someone above her because the way she was behaving was very unprofessional. She told me she was it, and there was no one over her. I also waited three hours to be seen by this bot-like woman. Avoid this urgent care. That woman is not there to help people. read more

It's not just this location, all BayCare Urgent Care locations really need to work smarter and become more efficient so that they can actually provide good, timely care to their communities. They are so poorly ran, the wait times are beyond ridiculous. There are a lot of people behind the desk- and it feels like they're doing nothing, I know they probably are, but it's a painfully long process. This urgent care is below standard. This is my third experience with this branch, and every time I have been treated with unprofessionalism. They simply do not explain procedures and expect patients to know exactly what to do as a visiting procedure, displaying impatience. My niece went to get tested for Covid as she was displaying symptoms and the doctor instead of simply saying she got Mono, made her guess what she contracted and then proceeded to write it on a Popsicle Stick and told her to Google it. He sat in his chair and waited until she read aloud what she found. What is wrong with you? She was a child, if we wanted to just google the symptoms and get an online diagnosis we would have. Currently waiting to try to get a Covid test necessary for emergent travel, the front desk receptionist says they are not taking walk ins but the same front desk receptionist acknowledges the online system is and has been down(been trying since Friday) and they are not answering the phone because of high volumes. I am confused as to what high volumes given they are not given you any option to make any appointments. Poor customer service all the way around. I was seen on 03/10 sat in a room full of well and sick people , had body aches temperature sore throat,had to lay in my car, waited for about 1 and a half to get seen the ARNP Conklin said u have the flu , I just think that when you are dealing with sick people such as the flu symptoms , BayCare should have a triage area in the back so that you don't put other individuals at risk ,they did have a tablet that everyone touched it was never wiped down. This urgent care is the worst in the area. Do not come here unless you have hours and hours to waste!!! Has an appointment for a covid test and it took 2 hours past my appointment to be seen. If a facility cannot handle the patient load then do not make any more appointments. Also I understand the staff is overworked but that is due to Mismanagement not a patients fault. When you come here it is not for a good reason so you are already stressed and then you have to deal with cold staff members and a long wait! This place needs to get its act together! read more

I went in for a visit on 8/12/19. My foot had an internal infection from a previous surgery-and I was in excruciating pain. It was an hour wait-ehh I can get past that...so the doctor didn't touch my foot however he acknowledged there's an infection and possible blood clotting around a bone spur-told me to get mole skin from a pharmacy and sent me on my way. The next day-Tuesday the infection has quadrupled in size and I can't even walk on it-my mom insisted i call the doctor back to get antibiotics. They finally call me back Wednesday evening and tell me to make another visit because there's no indication it was infected Monday. Fortunately for me, I was able to see an Orthopaedic surgeon today on Wednesday 8/14 who prescribed antibiotics and immediately drained and cleaned up my foot and has me scheduled for surgery next week. What a waste of time urgent care was for me-the waiting room was really unpleasant too. It's a shame bc I've had a great experience with BayCare everywhere else-except this location. read more

Log on before I go so I don't have to wait and can save my spot which is super convenient, check in process is simple (they give you a tablet to check/enter all your info so you're not telling everyone in the waiting room your info) also you get to make your own payment which is nice. I went there with problems breathing doctor walked in listen to me breath said going to prescribe you some medicine for a respiratory infection. And left, nurse walked in with discharge papers said here everything you need your prescription was sent to the pharmacy. I go to pharmacy to find out nothing was never sent over. Was then advised to go to emergency for further assistance. I feel like I should of just went there to begin with. Such and inconvenience for someone sick to go through all this. No communication here my son has been sick for two days with a fever and sore throat I went to baycare urgent care the simple fact they are Affiliated with st. Joes. Checked in at 1025 Paid my copay at 1041. I see it's a few people already waiting about five people come in and get called straight to the back at 1205 I asked them what's going on I was then informed they have a thing called spot holding, I have never heard of an urgent care having that (that's called an appointment in which you make those with your PCP) this whole time we are waiting NO one done vitals no assessment was done! Nothing! When speaking to the LPN whom was in charge tells me she will work on the communication and do I wonna get my spot held.... um no I have kids I need to get, that's the point of coming in early without them! This is unacceptable for an urgent care especially affiliated with St. Joes. I have wasted my morning had to leave bc it's monday kids get out at 1255.
