I know what spicy mayo tastes like, it's a pretty common mistake at sushi restaurants where they don't take it off and I'm used to that. That's not what my issue was. My issue is that then the other waiter claimed there was in fact no spicy mayo, and then said "it's your taste buds". Yes, that's what he said. He claimed to have watched the chef make it, that they didn't use spicy mayo, and when he came back and I talked to him about it again, he claimed to have asked the chef and they said they didn't use spicy mayo. He said it could've been the eel sauce, I told him eel sauce isn't spicy, he said yes eel sauce isn't spicy. He also said they could've added sweet chili sauce. I told him the recipe on the menu says there isn't sweet chili sauce. He said he would go check. Friend was watching him the whole time, he never talked to the chef during that period, he had simply gone to print the check and stayed in the front of the restaurant still. I also believe he was too busy to have stood around and watched my entire roll get made as he claimed he did. It was absolutely a mistake on the chefs end because the waitress definitely wrote it down, I saw her do it. And the receipt said no mayo on it too. I just cannot believe the waiter gave so much attitude about a mistake. I did not mirror his attitude. Regardless of whether he blatantly lied to me or not, his behavior was wildly unprofessional. A simple acknowledgement that there was a mistake would've sufficed. There was no need to deny my claim and embarrass me. I wish I talked to management. This was my first time experiencing very bad customer service so I wish I thought of that while I was there. I feel bad leaving this review because besides him there were no other issues, but it disturbed me greatly and I need to address it.
