This is my favorite place to eat in town, I love it. Their fried rice is incredible. I would eat there ever day If I could Everyones favorite. My husband & I often get takeout from here because it is close to our house. The other night, I called in an order & was given a total & told it would be 25-30 mins. I arrived 20 minutes later to pay & pick up the order. When I got there, not only was my order not ready, it wasn't "in the system". Every person that came up said they didn't take it & didn't know who did. Mistakes happen, that's fine. I certainly don't mind restating my order & waiting for it. The problem is, not ONE person apologized or even acted like they cared one way or the other. This is no way to run a business. Mistakes happen & people are human. I usually stop at Thai Arawan when I am in Amarillo. I like the coconut shrimp and shrimp rolls for appetizers, and I usually have the Banker's Special entree and ask for it to be cooked spicy. Do not order from Thai Arawan online. They take zero responsibility for online orders claiming it is all a third party so nothing their fault. Ordered for 6pm deliver and received confirmation texts and receipt. At 6:20 I called them and they had zero record from my order. they said there was nothing they could do and they hung up on me. This is our forth visit. We live in Dallas but make sure we plan to stop here when we are in Amarillo. First time here we ordered Pad Thai extra spicy. It was too hot for us, but "extra spicy" in Dallas Thai places is usually not spicy. Even though it was too spicy and we could not eat it (our fault) it tasted so damn good! We took food home, still too spicy cold. But we came back the next night because we knew under the heat there was amazing food. We ordered Pad Thai "little spicy" and we're most pleased. Among our next few stops we have explored the menu, always getting Pad Thai to go. Have brought friends here. Never disappointed when we come. I ordered go see me, pat Thai and shrimp fried rice ; the rice taste like SALT, go see me, the noodle was over fried and the stuff go along with the noodle taste so bland., and The pat Thai tasted no flavor at all. We have eaten at Thai Arawan for several years and have always enjoyed excellent service and good food. Unfortunately, this evening's experience was the exception. The beef in the pepper beef was--for the most part--very tough and underdone. The peppers tasted as if they had not been cooked at all. This was very disappointing. I was sadly not impressed with the food :( I know everyone has their own ideas of good food but I had the Egg Drop Soup which tasted mostly of black pepper, the sesame chicken which really gets 5 stars!! But the fried rice that came with it was bland and sad looking. My friend got the chicken fried rice and THAT fried rice was flavorful and seasoned well!! If we go back I will give the menu another try but was first trip didn't leave me wanting more. The servers were pretty amazing though! Bland food every time I've been here (which is plenty of times because my meat and potatoes grandmother insists on going here somewhat often). Sometimes they cater events at my work. I always take the free lunch and go to events like these except when Thai Arawan is catering. I nope out of that free lunch every time. read more

The Thai is skewed toward Chinese food style. Our cashew vegetable was covered was the ubiquitous Chinese food brown sauce. However, unlike most Chinese.food we've had, the vegetables were not overcooked. The vegetables were excellent. read more

Standard Thai menu (think My Thai) in a pleasant atmosphere. I was a bit surprised by the holes and tears in our booth cushions however. Food was served fresh and fast- egg rolls are pre-cooked, not cooked to order. Combo Chow Mein was really good (spaghetti type noodles, no crunchy chow Mein noodles). Sweet & Sour Pork plentiful and tasty. Not as authentic as places like Thai Star or Thai Diamond, but tasty and convenient if you are on the west side. Prices are very reasonable. read more

very nice people, but as other reviewers noted, it was mostly a chinese menu. and american chinese like CHOP SUEY. and a tv playing??? the snob in me says ugh. but i suppose the owners are having to put familiar rather than authentic dishes on the menu--which may be too exotic for amarillo (no offense, amarillo). the dish i had was fine--i asked for them to go easy on the salt which they did and the vegetables were still crisp and the sauce had nice flavor. but the rice was terrible--super cheap uncle ben's-like rice....not jasmine or sticky. i feel badly for giving them two stars because they were nice and my dish was ok, but bad rice is unacceptable and calling it a thai restaurant is misleading. p.s. my shrimp dish was something like $10. so cheap, at least. read more

I had spoke with the owner about a changing table because we are regular customers and I know I can't be the only one who just happens to need one when we eat there. The owner was so kind and assured me that he would order one and have it installed. Ordered the tom yum noodle soup, no flavor at all super dry pieces of chicken and 3 very small shrimps and way too much noodles, my bf ordered combo fried rice super bland, the shrimp had a very weird after taste.
