I have eaten here numerous times over the past 8 years and tonight will be the last. We ordered delivery through Door Dash which came very quick and hot. The problem we had was that their second heat level... medium was incredibly hot. No one could tolerate the heat. I have ordered this way in the past without issue. When I called the response was that I should had ordered mild. No offer to make it right and actually they told me to just call Door Dash. Back at the good old restaurant. Fairly busy for Xmas eve. Ordered foods and asked for the check. Food came out pretty quick, taste just like the old times. Ordered green papaya salad and fried tofu aptzr along with CH drunken noodles and CH fried rice. Fried rice a lil salty and drunken noodle taste not too good (oily). Had better one before. Many times, new businesses or sometimes even established ones advertise coupons/vouchers on the local Amazon or even Groupons. It was a pleasant surprise to find a "new" local Thai place with good reviews placing their offer. I took the opportunity and tried this place out with my family. The place was very clean and pleasant. There were many people seated and the atmosphere was great. We ordered the crispy flounder with the chili basal sauce, chicken pad thai and the kids chicken fried rice meal. The chicken pad thai was a bit on the salty side but flavorful while the noodles where cooked perfectly. The crispy flounder tasted very good and the fried rice was a little bland (as it should be) for a kids meal. So why 3 stars? It came to the service. Since the flounder was market price, we asked our waiter how much it was. She said $25.95 and we repeated the price and she confirmed. However when the bill came out to $30.95 we naturally asked the waiter about the price difference. She didn't answer but called another person (who looked like a table manager). The lady came to our table without any explanation but just said "$30.95" We told her that our waiter told us a price of $25.95 but the lady just repeated "$30.95" and she left annoyed. If she just took the time to apologize for the miscommunication, we would have left in a more satisfied state. This is not about a mere $5 but more of courtesy or should I say the lack of. I must admit, the waitresses do lack English speaking skills but at the very least the "manager" should be able to explain what was going on. We didn't complain further, just paid and left. All in all, it was a so-so experience. One thumb up for the food and 2 thumbs down for the service. read more

I asked for the hottest which was above thai hot and what I got was a joke. Close to a 5, but not quite there. Ordered the dumpling sampler and my usual panang beef. I always get the dinner size, since I tend to eat a lot. In this case, I'm really glad I did since it was a little on the smaller portion for a dinner size. The dumplings were great! I didn't really like the wasabi ones, but that's just a personal thing for me. Next time I'll sub them out for 2 of the other ones. The panang beef was pretty good. It had a lot of peanut flavor, which I really liked. It could have been a tad spicier, but overall it was pretty good. Definitely worth going back again! Love this place for lunch out here in Loudoun. I have had 4-5 dishes and everything has been superb. The hotness levels seem to be somewhat consistent as other Thai places seem to vary depending on who is cooking that day (maybe same cook during lunch everytime that I have visited here?). This restaurant has become one of my 10 lunch staples which I rotate depending on what I feel like eating. I look forward to trying many more of their menu items. read more

Thai Ashburn is on par with the several competing Thai restaurants in this area. Menu choices are typical We tried the Crying Tiger beef, Pad See Ew noodles with beef and Thai Garden with chicken. They were good, nothing exceptional and on the small side. We liked the fried Banana in a Blanket ala Mode dessert best, especially the coconut ice cream with bits of mango. Overall, service was good and the restaurant was nicely decorated. read more

Lunch menu options are with chicken only and when I asked if I could have vegetarian instead they were not flexible to my request. Just doesn't make any sense. There was a hair in my boat noodle soup. It was stuck to the side of the bowl when I started drinking the soup after finishing the noodles. I immediately stopped eating the soup and showed the hair to the waiter. He took it and I heard some discussion with the woman that seems to manage the place. Afterwards there was no mention of it and not even an apology. Our group paid for the meal and left. In my opinion, this was very unprofessional. Hair was clearly not mine as mine is undyed and shorter in length. Would have been nice to give a discount, but that is not expected. Not even an acknowledgement or apology is just rude. Also the price for boat noodle soup has gone up by almost 20%. read more

If I could leave this restaurant 0 stars, I would. I visited this restaurant with my family spending well over $100 on food. We didn't like our Thai fried rice. It lacked flavor and smelled awful. The owner rudely argued with us over this $10 meal that may have cost them no more than $2 to make. So you lost customers who frequent the restaurant because there is no concept of customer service AND you left a pregnant woman with no food. Shame on you. I'm always looking for delicious Thai food especially around here since my favorite Thai restaurant is far from Ashburn. Decided to try this place tonight since I saw that they have the boat noodle soup which is rare to find! We arrived, was greeted, then sat. There was only one other table occupied in the whole restaurant and also, seem like one guy was being trained. Looked at the menu - they have a variety to pick from but their prices are pretty high up there compared to other Thai restaurants I've been to. Took a while until the lady finally came to take our drink order and it was a lot of scrambling around until our drinks actually came then we ordered. My husband and I got the boat noodle soup and we order the kids noodle for my little one. The kids noodle was like pad see ew with chicken and a really good portion. We thought the boat noodle soup was ok, doesn't taste like what we're used to it tasting like. The broth had a spice to it and was a different color then what we like. There was lots of bean sprouts and little of the green vegetables. We are used to the dirty style boat noodle soup that has the liver and all that in there. Was very surprised that the sukiyaki they had on their menu only has a beef option since I usually get the seafood one at the other place I go to. This place has been open under a couple owners/cooks/management. When the food is on--it is the best Thai in Ashburn. Their serving sizes seem to have gone down and their prices up of late. Service is very good and the place is clean. They have a nice street cart menu selection, which is supposedly authentic Thai street food. Good. Over priced. Also, if I order it chef hot, I do not expect the same dish to have 3 different levels at three different times of ordering. What gives? Need more quality control. I wanted seafood pad cha which is in their Thai Street Food section of the menu and the lady on the phone kept repeating seafood pad thai. I told her its not the noodle dish, and even spelled it for her and she starts laughing and repeats "the noodle", again I said no and told her its under the Street Food section of the menu, she laughs again and I hear her tell someone in the background, "can you get her order". A man gets on the phone and I go through the same thing with him, he keeps repeating pad thai, and has the nerve to tell me he can't understand me and for me to speak clearly and that he's busy and there's alot of people there.
