So awful! You're much better off going to Thai Tanic in Destin! Food is less than mediocre for sure

This is my first time in Destin. Our group was craving for some Thai Food after the beach, stopped by the Thai Basil... It is the best place of Thai food we have gone so far from Houston, Tx or even in Thailand (my husband and I travelled to Thailand last year :) ) the server was really nice, they have free thai tea if you check in on social media, which is super nice!!! We ordered chicken pad Thai, thai basil beef fried rice, tom yum soup, panang curry and mango sticky rice, all the food was supper delicious!! It is the must try place if you love Thai food like me ;) Highly recommend !!! read more

Don't let the location scare you away. Best Curry's on the Emerald Coast! I just can't get enough of their yellow curry but they are all yummy!! They make a taster Pineapple Fried Rice as well as Pad Thai. Our go to Thai place. read more

Very tiny place with big flavor inside! I came in for a quick bite for lunch and I wasn't disappointed. I had the chicken pad thai and it was real Thai cooking. My partner have the sweet and sour stir fry with mild heat, it too was delicious. Very good prices, very nice people; very engaging with the customer. This place appears low key and modest next to it's neighbor, Bone Fish Grill, but the food here is fantastic! Fresh ingredients, fast, courteous service...clean environment... No touristy gimmicks here...this place thrives solely by the quality of its food. It's one of those "hole in the wall" restaurants that WOWS patrons with its delicious cuisine... This is an establishment owned and run by Chinese people. It would be fine if they can cook Thai food, but the food tastes awful and has a weird aftertaste. My wife and I ate here and we got food poisoning. This is not a Thai place.. avoid! read more

Awesome Thai food. Excellent value as well with very generous portions. They use high quality, fresh ingredients. Owner and other staff are very friendly and professional. I did find the Pad Thai overly sweet, far sweeter than I ever had in Thailand. Also, there was no cilantro in anything which I found odd and disappointing. Still, very good food as well as value. Not bad, but not quite authentic. I'm on vacation and found this place near where I stayed. The papaya salad wasn't bad, but it was more to the sweet side (not sour and kind of bland). I also ordered a noodle soup to go, but it wasn't quite authentic. Tasted like they just made an instant noodle soup for me (which I could've done myself from buying the stuff from Walmart). Their noodle soup didn't come with the garnish you would normally eat with it. There were no onions, cilantro, bean sprouts, or basil, or even siracha. It came with steamed cabbage which normally isn't eaten with this soup. read more

Delicious Thai food ! I spent some time in Thailand and this place is very authentic. The Khao Soi is soooooo good. I have not been able to find this dish outside of Thailand. We licked the bowl and already planning our next order later this week. The spice level on the curries is a little stronger than I'm used to so definitely go down a level unless you like the heat. read more

Thai food here is really good and quite authentic. I ordered foods to go couple of times and food quality has been very consistent. I'm Thai and I have tried Thai foods at couple Thai restaurants in Destin and I have to say thai Basil is the best and the most authentic. Staffs here are great, very friendly and super courteous. Husband and I ordered take out and were pleasantly surprised! You can order the dishes mild, medium, hot or Thai hot. We had the waterfall beef which was tender and flavorful, the panang curry chicken and the pad Thai. It was all outstanding. But be warned, Thai hot is super duper hot! NEW OWNERSHIP as of February 2018, and nothing like what this restaurant was. Will not be going back. Food wasn't Thai tasting; the chicken was freakishly non-flavorful and rubbery, and sadly, just not the great tasting Thai Restaurant it was as in the past few years. Saving on cash when buying from restaurant supply food vendors does not equate to a enjoying a quality Thai meal... and that's what I think the new owner is trying to do. read more

Craved thai on vacation and found this place thinking we'd stop in for a quick bite. The place is small but it was full. We didn't have to wait on a table but that's about it. Two ordered pad thai despite other bad review on here. After all, it was labeled "new and hot." Yeah, they were right. It was orangish red and not great. They kept asking about it and we didn't want to lie. The others were nearly done eating before I even got my yellow curry. The color was nearly green and I thought they'd made a mistake. The oil and coconut milk were separating making for an odd texture. There were unpeeled red potatoes in it. While it was not to my liking, others at the table enjoyed my dish. The table next to us seemed to be having a feast and throughly enjoyed their meal. Maybe they knew what to order. read more

Service is hit or miss. Sometimes the person waiting tables is also the person cooking which slows everything down. Pad Thai is horrible. The Grilled Pork is great. I've had more bad experiences than good (hence the two stars), but the old lady is a gem when she's there. read more

Best, absolute best, egg rolls you will ever have. Curry was good too, but the egg rolls... So much better than everywhere else they have to be mentioned. Other than that, ive only tried the massaman and (yellow or panang curry). They we good, but Thai Delight overall food was better. So... being the silly person i am, when we want thai i go to Thai Delights for the curry and swing by here for the egg rolls (yes, it IS worth the effort to go to both). read more
