My parents used to live within walking distance and every other month when I visited them I would absolutely walk over. The interior is absolutely gorgeous and spotless. So pleasing and calming. I brought a foursome of neighborhood women here for an early lunch and we were almost the only people there. Service was immediate and respectful. Two of my friends had never had Thai food and had plenty of questions, and their questions were answered politely and completely. I opted for Pho noodle soup and as always it was exquisite. One of my friends had been to Thailand and her compliments on the food were effusive. My other two friends enjoyed their meals and are now serious Thai afficionados! read more

We came here hungry after our flight to Florida and we walked away very satisfied. I tried the spicy basil noodles for something different and it was great. The flavor was good and it wasn't too spicy. My husband and daughter both did their favorite Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew which was delicious. We also ordered a Green Curry with chicken so my daughter could give a curry dish a try. She loved the different flavor and was glad to have given it a try. The service was a bit slow and we recognize we were there for a late lunch so they may not have been fully staffed. The ambiance of the restaurant was a bit tired. Last night I made the mistake of calling a pick-up order in at this Thai Basil on West Bay in error. My regular is Thai Basil on EAST BAY. When entering the restaurant I was expecting a good meal because the enviorment of the dinning area and employees was rather good. The quality of the food was subpar, and I could tell when I put it in the car that the smell was off to my liking. This by far my worse Thai food I have ever had. In fact, I woke up in the night with unpleasantries. Lesson Learned. The Thai Basil on East Bay is the better of the two as far as food quality goes. read more

I'll be back. I love that they offer both sushi and Thai menus. Very large restaurant can seat many people. The raw tuna and raw salmon nigiri were fresh and good quality. I also like the taste of their sushi rice, ginger and strong wasabi. Those are my go-to foods, so I will surely order them again. I enjoyed the "side salad" with ginger dressing which wasn't mentioned on the menu. Iceberg lettuce, tomato and crisp carrot slivers. The dressing was thin, off white and tasted like soy sauce was one of the ingredients. Not my favorite dressing but not bad either. The veggie spring roll appetizer from the Thai menu was a larger portion than I expected, so I wasn't able to finish them. They were tasty, but the raspberry sauce was thin and lacked flavor. You can't get me to order fried food unless it's exceptional, or it isn't worth the calories. read more

I came here for a company lunch. Surprise that they serve authentic dishes like khao soy and kee kratee which are northern dishes. Of course I ordered khao soy and it was good; the menu says it comes with chicken, so I added shrimp to it, but only got shrimp. The only thing missing to make this great is the crispy chips and maybe more fresh veggies. Other than that is was great From the looks of it, they recently expanded and have a full bar. They also have their own brewery presenting about 4 different beers which they were kinda enough to let me try and they were great. They have happy hour all day on certain drinks and also have a sushi bar; I ordered crispy rice which is spicy tuna on top of pan fried rice and it was delish. I've been here a couple of times and usually the food is okay. Tonight the dishes were awful, actually made me sick. The spicy basil with tofu was in an oily sauce with no taste. The pad woosen(sp?) was awful, a slip of noodles and no taste whatsoever. The person who took my order, a young man, was rude and his attitude was one where he couldn't be bothered. Good, but not the Best Thai Bay in Largo is my go-to for Thai food. But I decided to try Thai Basil II since I hadn't been there in a long time. They recently did a major expansion and the new section feels a bit cavernous. Our server was pleasant. Prices were fair. When I go to a new Thai place, I always go with the basics. I started with Tom Kha soup. It was nice enough but a little thin in both flavor and consistency. For my main I got Pad Thai with shrimp. Again, nice but a little light on the flavor. My dinner companions seemed to enjoy their food. It was a nice dinner, but I'll head back to Thai Bay. read more

One of the best Thai restaurants l've been to. I ordered ton yum soup very flavorful not too spicy but enough spice. Also ordered the goyza fried, it was very crisp and delicious. For the entree I got the cashew nut, the sauce was pretty good and the chicken very tender along with the fresh carrots. Warm Sake was perfect went down smooth. Jasmine tea was ok but be careful it's blistering hot when you have to pour it. Overall I loved it, the place looks amazing very spacious they went all out on the place looks brand new inside and very clean. The service was quick too. read more

The Tom Kha soup had absolutely no galangal flavor in it and had no discernible taste of lemongrass or even fish sauce. The main ingredient that you could taste was the salt! When the green curry shrimp arrived, the sauce looked very watery and had almost no green color to it. It was completely tasteless. Even the Thai iced coffee was not good. Husbands Chicken & Rice soup is exactly that. A comforting and delicious bowl of yummy soup. Husband ordered the Chicken Ramen Noodle bowl. He's never had a Ramen Bowl and he was glad he tried it. It's a chicken based broth, with tender bits of chicken, bamboo shoots & boiled egg. He chose to forgo the shiitake mushrooms and scallions. The bowl was quite large and it looks as if we'll both leave with take home containers. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. Perfectly cooked rice noodles seasoned with a sweet & savory sauce, with tender chicken, scattered with peanuts and scallions. Oh. My. Goodness. Have been here a handful of times but recently went for dinner. They close at 9:30 it was 9:15 and they wouldn't serve us. They tried to tell me it was 9:35 and I showed the host my phone. He just walked off. If you don't want to serve people, then just turn the "open" sign off. Food is mediocre at best and their prices have increased about 4$ a dish. Booths are terribly uncomfortable. They starting up charging me 4$ to exclude green pepper and sun with mushrooms. I really only will go here if my husband insists. And he only goes because it's close. I frequent Thai basil, yesterday, December 8 I went to lunch with a friend. They brought me the wrong meal and didn't seem to want to correct it. Weight staff told me there are two types of spicy basil dish, she may have wanted to mention that to me when I ordered it, which one . It's the wrong meal I said it's with rice should be rice noodles It's not spicy even the other wait staff came over They did nothing to rectify the situation. I did not enjoy what I had at all and they acted like it was my fault Then I asked for chili paste didn't have a clue what I was talking about at a Thai place ? I even described what chili paste was to them no clue I won't frequent there anymore. The fact that they couldn't even try to rectifyIt blew me away with the service and they knew I was not happy. I even had to get up a third time and ask for some sort of spicy sauce because the waitress couldn't be bothered. She was too busy eating her lunch along with the other weight staff by the way this was 2 o'clock and one last thing, the food was barely warm. I don't get it. Ordered Tom Kha Ghi Soup and it's horrible. Don't order it. Also my husband ordered chicken basil hot and it was very mild. $13 for the chicken basil and $5.50 for cup of soup. Soup broth was supposed to be coconut flavor and it was like chicken broth with milk to make white. The server brought what she said was more coconut milk but it was milk when I tasted it. Food was pretty good. But I will never come here again. Customer service was horrendous! She forgot orders. When asked about our appetizers, she was snappy, claiming we never ordered them. She was rude and catty towards my girl and her female friend. Instead of answering questions about portion size or recommendation, she was passive aggressive. We noticed she was treating other guests the same way. Her attitude and demeanor put a bad taste in my mouth. If you're able to order online to avoid their staff, do so. My husband and I go here several times a month, alas we will be going no more after today's experience. We dropped by today for a quick lunch; we specifically asked the waitress to describe what vegetables or salad was included with the Garlic Chicken because my husband wanted vegetables not lettuce with this meal. We were assured it came with veggies. It arrived with lettuce - we explained to two waitresses that it was not what we ordered and asked if we could have some veggies instead. We were told No; we could only have veggies if we paid an additional charge. We said No thanks, and asked if we could get a different meal, again we were told No, we would have to pay for it. So, we returned the meal to the kitchen, and I ate my lunch while my husband did without his. Guess what for the sake of about $15 this restaurant just lost untold revenue in food and drinks because myself and family and my office status will no longer be frequenting this restaurant. And, for the record, the Manager didn't even have the decency to come out and address the situation with us directly but left it to the wait staff. Very poor service! read more

What a great restaurant and pleasant surprise as you walk into this restaurant in a strip center. They have a long bar, bright, contemporary atmosphere, TV's and they make craft beers. We had the yum-yum soup, shared the yellow curry and egg rolls. All were delicious and our bill was less than $50 with drinks for 2 . We can't wait to go back next week. read more

I moved to Largo a year ago and needed find my go-to Thai spot. I think I've found it. I've only been about 3 times since moving so I'll just review my latest visit (takeout order). They do get pretty busy and had to call in three times because their line was busy the firs time, it kept ringing the second time, and with my perseverance ( and hunger) I got a hold of someone. I ordered the typical entrees: Shrimp Pad Thai and PIneapple Fried Rice. I got the Pad Thai to be medium in spice and I warn you, if you don't do well with spice, stick to mild. The medium was perfect for me with the right amount of heat. I was a little disappointed in the amount of shrimp given but the sauce of the Pad Thai was on point. Next up is the pineapple fried rice. Now they make it different from the typical Thai places, which usually includes tomatoes. They actually add a little curry spice to the rice and I thought this would deter my boyfriend from eating (he's not a big fan of curry), he actually really liked it. I will admit it was good and I would definitely order it again. The only downside of the dishes is the amount of protein given but overall really good food! read more

We've been craving Thai food for several months and accidentally found this great spot tonight as we looked through restaurant reviews while staying in Indian Rocks Beach. Not busy and we were able to sit down and order right away. We tried the Egg Rolls, the Drunken Noodles with chicken, and the Pad Thai with chicken and all were good. We discussed the level of heat and the young woman waiting on us suggested something between mild and medium. Good choice and we wouldn't have wanted it any hotter! Hands down: this is the best Thai restaurant in town. The food is absolutely amazing. My favorite is the Chili Jam Squid which was recommended by the amazing Jane who somehow remembers every customer's name and their order. She is also an upbeat smiling presence every time you come in to dine. I'll try to post pictures in the future, but don't have any currently on hand. Everything I've had on the menu is delicious. This is also a very vegan friendly restaurant as well. My husband's favorite dish is the pineapple curry chicken which is also beautiful to look at. read more
