Everyone in the office really enjoyed what they ordered, which is always a win when you are ordering for a group. It is not too far from our office, which makes it super convenient, and they had everything ready right on time. The pricing was very reasonable for the quality and portions we received. The person who placed the order mentioned that the service was great when they called it in, which made the whole process smooth and easy. This restaurant has an interesting modern vibe, with a big stage in the front and music videos playing on a big screen. It doesn't feel like any of the traditional Thai restaurants I have been to, which is not necessarily a bad thing but just different. Our server was super friendly and helpful, but the food took a very long time to come out despite the restaurant being pretty empty. I ordered tofu pad thai, and while it had a good flavor, the noodles were a bit too chewy and it was pretty dry. I visited Thai 5 restaurant for their buffet on a Sunday evening with a group of around 10. We were the only people in the restaurant the entire time we were there. The buffet selection was moderately sized, but everything was good . I don't think they were going to put out more food because we were the only people there. I would have liked them to add additional food because there were items that were devoured by our group. Overall, I think the buffet is a good value for the price. The service was lacking a bit. Unfortunately, this was the main downside, and I almost gave the restaurant three stars due to this. The server did not clear plates. We had to stack them up ourselves and essentially put them on another table. She also didn't come around to fill our beverages or make sure we had drinks. On top of this there was a mandatory 20% gratuity, which I understand for the group size but we would've liked some level of service.. read more

Excellent food and service. I had the fried fish with panang sauce. The fish was perfectly done. Outside crust was fried to perfection. Panang nice and sweet. Veggies were not overdone at all. Just the way I like them. The other dish was the duck fried rice. Each piece of duck was juicy and tender. For dessert, we all shared the Mango Sticky Rice and Banana Coins. The mango sticky rice was an excellent combination of slightly salty coconut sauce with the sticky rice and some very good and sweet slices of mango. Banana coins were amazing! Why didn't I find this place sooner?! Our first time at this restaurant looking for late night eats. Sadly, they were almost closing but could fit us in for a takeout so we did. We ordered pad Thai, papaya salad, Tom yum and duck fried rice. Everything was delicious. I cannot wait for back here and sit down for dinner. Spacious. Looks like they have a place for a band? Fresh rolls (summer rolls) had great peanut sauce but rolls themselves were way too much iceberg lettuce it was all you could taste. The first time we had their Pad Thai was at the original location, and we're blown away by their rendition of this dish, which is absolutely delicious! We got the larb gai , papaya salad (Laos style) & panang curry with fried catfish. All I gotta say is that the food was DELICIOUS! & they were big portions! I had such a great experience at Thai Five Restaurant! The fried rice was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and had just the right balance of ingredients. Omg. What a great find in such an unassuming place. I'll be honest, I don't often venture into Largo for a good meal, but FORTUNATELY, we were in the area and hungry so I looked up this place and decided thai was a good option. Boy, am I glad I did! This is easily some of the best thai food and sushi (sort of) I've ever had. This is everything I ordered Tom Kha Gai: this soup was on the creamier side of ones I've tried in the best and although I personally like them to have a harsher citrusy bite, I really enjoyed the creaminess of this one. Shrimp fresh rolls: fresh rolls are pretty standard overall I would say, but these had a good ratio of fillings and not too much basil, which I liked. The star of the show was the AMAZING peanut sauce though. It was the perfect consistency (not too thick not too runny) and it had chunks of peanuts in their. OMG) This made me glad that I ordered the main dish that I did. Spicy tuna roll: talk about presentation ! This was beautiful!! The spicy sauce was like a sweet chili sauce which was a nice change from the typical spicy mayo. I feel like this had potential, but I will say that the fish didn't taste that fresh on this one and had a pretty fishy flavor. .. Volcano roll: I dont have a picture of this, but the presentation on this one was especially incredible. They had it on a moat of alcohol which they lit on fire! It was also super saucy and therefore delicious, one of the best volcano rolls I've ever had. This one only had the fake Krab so you couldn't tell as easily whether it was old or not. Delicious though! Amazing Thai with chicken: this was definitely the highlight of the night for me. On the menu, it's a relatively unassuming thing. It's just steamed broccoli with your choice of meat covered in a peanut sauce with jasmine rice. Do not let that description dissuade you from one of my new favorite dishes. This was just doused in the same peanut sauce as the fresh rolls and it was sooooo good, omg!! Can't wait to go back again! The service was also incredible. The server was a very nice and chatty lady who genuinely seemed to enjoy being there (I think she was the owner too), but she was a very high spirited and fun person and a great server read more

We were on vacation and when on vacation we always crave a taste of dishes that remind you of home! Thai 5 has some off the menu really authentic Lao dishes. We ordered Crying Tiger, Lao Style Papaya Salad, Crispy Duck Feet, Deep Fried Meatballs and Shashimi Bowl and everything was tasty! In addition to that the portion was amazing! Great food for and awesome! The service was alway great! Chanel along with the rest of the servers were all friendly. I traveled to St. Pete for some business and found the reviews on this place and really wanted to like it. I stopped in before heading back to my home in Naples and let one of the servers know I just needed a table for one and she directed me to a booth and let me know someone would be right with me. Walking in I noticed there was some sort of party being set up in the back of the restaurant. I figured they were short staffed and busy with the setup, so I put my headphones in and waited for someone to come over. Once I realized almost 30 minutes had gone by, I was starting to get frustrated because I had to drive another 2 hours back home and it was already dark. I went up to the bar and let a server know I had been waiting for quite some time and needed to leave soon. She informed me that the restaurant was closed for a private party and that she believed I was part of the guests for that party and didn't feel the need to check on me, even though I was sat on the complete opposite side of the restaurant and never spoke to people setting the party up. With no signage on the door, and no one clarifying with me once I walked in, there was no way for me to know, and I was very disappointed. Of course, I could have spoken up sooner, but I didn't want to rush or pressure them, that was my mistake. They did ask me if I would like to order to-go, which I did because I was starving and needed to leave back home. Needless to say it was the worst thai food I've ever had. Red thai curry tasted like plastic, garlic pepper steak was sitting in a bland watery soup. The only thing edible were the crab rangoons that I am certain were frozen. So, the $80 I spent on all the food basically went in the trash. I'm sure they are regularly a good restaurant, but this has been the worst experience I've had in a while. read more

She was also running the bar and didn't know how to make it. Ordered simple drinks and appetizers. The food is OUTSTANDING!!! I ordered green curry that was SO flavorful! Enjoy the whole meal. Since moving back to Pinellas, I've been searching for a good Thai restaurant. I tried Thai 5 on a Tuesday for lunch. When I got there, I was the only one there, which should have been a sign. I ordered crab Rangoon, Amazing Chicken, Mango Rice for the dessert, and a boba. After I paid, I was told they didn't have the mango rice and I ended up substituting another appetizer (potstickers); however, the appetizer was less expensive than the dessert and they didn't even try to offer a refund. The food was done well before the boba. When I finally got the boba, they substituted a passion fruit pearl for the tapioca ones, which I don't care for passion fruit. Plus the drink was mostly chopped up ice and not drinkable. I ended up throwing most of it out. The crab Rangoon was tasty but they only had about a teaspoon of filling in each. The potstickers were also tasty and these had more of a filling. The amazing chicken was served on a bed of steamed broccoli but there was way too much water on the bottom of the dish and watered down the peanut sauce. It seemed a bit skimpy on the chicken too. The flavor was definitely there and if it wasn't for all of the other issues, I would have given it a higher rating. read more
