I've been a fan of Thai Basil for a while now. This is my go-to place when I'm especially hungry or just want something hot to takeout on my way home. Try the beefy curry, a monstrous helping of meat, peanuts, carrots, and potatoes in creamy coconut curry. Simple but delicious, and they can spice it just the way you like it. Their pad thai is good too, but I go there mostly for the curry. Their lunch portions are the most enormous portions I have ever seen. Granted, their service can be a bit slow if you eat in, but the employees are friendly and the restaurant is a nice place to relax for a bit. Either way, you can't go wrong! read more

We came here with a hankering for curry. The atmosphere is fun and we were there right after they opened for dinner so it was nice and quiet. The service is nice and pretty fast considering there was only one person working the floor when we arrived. We started with the fried tofu with peanut sauce. For entrees, Boyfriend ordered the red curry and I ordered the pumpkin curry, both with chicken. I also got a Thai tea. Everything was delicious! We will definitely be back! read more

Wow, Yelp has never disappointed me except this one time. Two out of five dishes were complete fail. Thai barbecue chicken was as dry and hard as refried dehydrated chicken jerky without the flavor. The$18.95 grilled halibut should never ever be served destroyed.The other dishes were overly seasoned, I still thirsty 3 hours later. This is one time when asked how my food is that I want someone to listen. Instead, the answer was "that's just how to make it". Pretty sad. read more

This is a great spot for lunch, especially if you're not really into fast food and that sort of stuff. The food is literally delivered to the table within 5 or 10 minutes of being ordered. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, and the quality is really consistant. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because sometimes it takes just like every other Thai place....really good, but nothing that separates it. I love Thai food but this place wasn't that great the night my boss and I went. We were both in town traveling for work and went here because it was one of the highest rated restaurants in the Lake Oswego area so we decided to give it a try. The prices weren't bad and the portions were fair but the food wasn't very good. They may have had an off night but my Pad Thai was bland and had a funny aftertaste that I couldn't quite place. I order Pad Thai a lot in Seattle so this isn't a case of me not knowing what I should be getting. My boss ordered something in a peanut sauce and he said his wasn't very good either. Food amazing. Service phenomenal!!! We were going to go to sushi place next door but they ran out of rice. So we came to Thai instead and we are so happy we did. They accommodated us with a smile very close to closing time. Both staff members were so nice. Our kids loved it and even offered to help clean up for them since they were so nice. This review is tough to write because I semi-regularly order from this Thai joint! I'm sad to confirm what others have brought up: the portion size has definitely decreased. It is a major bummer because this place regularly brings nice flavors to the floor, but the prices are unfortunately too high with the smaller portion sizes. I paid $24 for an order of drunken noodles and basil fried rice, which didn't completely fill my partner and I. If you have no financial constraints, this place has a number of tasty dishes. I personally enjoy their green curry, Thai basil fried rice, and soup options. The pad thai didn't blow me away, lacked a depth of flavor both times I ordered it. This place is fantastic. The owner, his son and the rest of the wait staff are so amazing and kind. We often are there with our young children and they are so patient and generous with the kids. The food is fresh and tasty and they have no problem modifying things. Their peanut sauce is the best and their portions are great. Be specific with your spice wants, I feel they lean towards the spice side, but it is full of flavor and the kind of spice I enjoy. At first I really liked this place. I've never really seen it very busy and it's kind of hidden away in Lake O. The food was fine and we were seated not too close to other couples or families. I wish the menu had pictures but that's normal not too. I order the pad Thai but my third time getting it, it made my stomach hurt for hours afterwards and in the middle of eating my food I found burnt plastic about a little bit bigger than a quarter would be. This place seemed too sketch after that so I haven't returned. :( read more

Hidden away in a strip mall in Lake O lies this Thai food gem. We stumbled upon this place after a shopping trip to Trader Joe's and I'm glad we did. The decor is very modern, not necessarily authentic, but very clean and updated nonetheless. Their crispy spring rolls are a must. These babies are of course deep-fried yet manage to maintain a light, delicate exterior and an almost fluffy, yet moist and flavorful filling. Their Pad Thai is extra flavorful and their pineapple fried rice has the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and savory. We are definitely going back to try other dishes! read more

We got in late Friday night and stayed at the Fairfield Inn next door. We noticed this little Thai place in the strip center next door and decided to give it a treat. First of all it looks much nicer inside than outside. It's large and beautifully decorated. Second the food was excellent. Third the service was outstanding. We eat gluten free and the waitress was very familiar with the menu. Oh ya, and the prices were very reasonable to us. We will be back next visit! read more
