This is one of the best Thai restaurants I have eaten at! I lived in Washington DC since 2001 and was visiting PC with my family and found this place on Yelp. This ranks as one of the best in comparison to the countless Thai restaurants in DC. I had the Miss Thailand, Thai Iced Tea and Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. This is a cute local place off the marina. Very delicious food. Started with vegetable soup- delicious, then coconut shrimp-amazing and the sauce was very good, and ate the pad woon sen for dinner- perfect! I'd highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for something new to eat! read more

Stranded in panama city for Thanksgiving. Have tried this place twice before, both less than stellar experiences. Eaxh time something smells off, the wait staff is too obsequious, and the quality of what is gotten is overpriced. With this latest visit I had the green curry. I only found that it was palatable with rice and so asked for another palm sized portion. I discovered that this little cup worth of Asian staple was an additional 2 dollars on the check. Seriously? Even with caveat that I'm a bit on the melancholy side because I'm away from loved ones.... I am now bitter with myself thinking that this place has again fooled me. Pity, as it is very opportunistically placed in historic st Andrews... Certainly could use a quality Asian restaurant... Sadly this has demonstrated to be a less than clean, pricier than fair, and consistently subpar/mediocre dishes. Recommend revector to Jasmine Thai on beachside or any of the Thai places on Tyndall parkway to avoid glum gutwrenching disappointment. read more

Thai Basil is situated right in the heart of Historic St. Andrews. Other than the amazing atmosphere around you, the food was to die for! We had the Crispy Salmon rolls which were heavenly, Spring Rolls that were incredibly fresh and delicate and Rama Chicken in Peanut Sauce which was also very good. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. The owner(I'm guessing) came over and asked how everything was, she was very nice. So happy to have some different cuisine down here! I went to this place with big crowd (around 20 people) and they had messed up our orders and some of us have to wait until last minute to get our food. But, the food tasted really good and it has all kind of flavor in it. I liked their Tom Yum soup and the Papaya Salad, but my main entree Cashew Chicken didn't taste good. Wow, can't believe it's been two years since our previous visit here. We ate here in a group of 6 and everyone really enjoyed their dinner. ...Pad Thai, Pad Woonsen, and Curry dishes. My husband and I ate here tonight and were thoroughly impressed. Having eaten at many Thai restaurants ourselves, we both were extremely pleased with the food and the service was amazing. We were the only ones here tonight and we were treated so well. We had the Papaya salad and duck spring rolls to start. For our entrees we had the three Thai brothers and shrimp pad Thai. The only thing I will say about the pad Thai is it is a little more on the teriyaki flavored side than the peanut flavored, which I am not used to, but it was still excellent. Then for dessert, we wanted the Thai donuts but our waitress insisted we try the sticky rice and mango instead...and we were so happy she did! It was delicious and the perfect end to a perfect meal. Don't forget the Thai iced tea...my husband had never tried it and he couldn't get enough of it. Large amount of food for the price and great service, even with the slight language barrier. I've eaten there before, and as always the food is good. Except sometimes their cilantro garnish is a little gritty. But today my friend and I were treated so poorly when went for lunch I was embarrassed. (It was my recommendation.) We arrived at 1:30, after driving from Tallahassee. They close at 2. This fact alone clearly irritated the "manager/server". She made us feel very unwelcome. She was rude, abrupt, and at one point literally walked off in the middle of my friend placing here order. Then when she returned she nastily demanded to know if my friend wanted the buffet or to order from the menu, but before my friend could answer she walked off again. The look on my face must have made her realize how rude she was behaving. Her attempt to be conciliatory later on was sad to watch, and then she was down right sweet when it was time for us to pay and tip, but I will not be back as long as she is employed. By the way, we tipped 25% regardless because the food is good. Too bad their choice in management is so awful. read more
