You walk up to this place and you expect some great Thai food. The first thing I notice is the pictures on the wall and the food does not match the pictures. My first bite into my food and bam hit me like a mac truck of the worst flavor you can imagine. It's like sucking Oscars feet from Sesame Street straight fucking garbage. The Lo Mein (noodles) tasted just like slurping up some tape worms fresh from an animal. Would I ever recommend this place to anybody... only to a fucking goat cuz they can eat anything including garbage

Thai Bistro is located in the Crabtree Valley Mall food court. My new found favorite is the black pepper and mango chicken over Thai noodles. They have great garlic chicken the best pair with pad Thai noodles. Yummy. They also have Egg Rolls, Lo Mein and Vegetarian noodles. My mommy loves the Bangkok chicken with streamed veggies( broccoli, and string beans with the fried rice). They manager of the restaurant is very friendly and always telling about the foods and let's know about the deals of the day. I love the food a lot and this my favorite place at the mall. I wish they would open a second location and extend the menu. They have a very fun and great atmosphere. They have great prices for the food and it's not expensive at all.

I try not to walk close to the food court during my visits to the mall because those FREE samples gets me every time! How do they do it? Thai Bistro is very generous with samples. I ate like half of a full meal off samples. Okay, I was sold! I had the bang bang shrimp and chicken. It was amazingly delicious! I ate it for brunch so it was fresh food. The portions are huge, I ate half and saved the other half for dinner. It's called Thai Bistro but it was more of a Thai and Chinese food fusion.

I love Thai Food and have been to many Thai Resturants, including two stays in Thailand. I was looking for a quick place to grab a bite and noticed the Thai Bistro. While located in a shopping mall I had great hopes that I would find a gem in the food court. The store front is very appealing. The workers are very friendly. The samples of the chicken flow across the counter. The chicken over all tastes good, but not really Thai. Adding some cilantro, lemon grass, fish sauce and some Thai chilies to the mix would certainly improve upon the authenticity. The Singapore Noodles and lo mein are bland. Over all it is not that different than the Mandarin Express four spaces to the left. Bring in some of the real Thai flavors and the place might be a hit. As it stands the place sells some good stir-fried chicken, but more fast food Chinese than Thai.

They're barely attempting to do Thai food. Much of it is quasi Chinese but worse than what you'd get at a Panda Express by a mile. Bourbon chicken and so on. The meal I tried today, which was two kinds of spicy chicken with rice, was so full of sugar that I thought I couldn't rule out a diabetic coma. read more

I have eaten here 3x so far! It's actually the ONLY place I've eaten in the food court... I like it so much, I don't have the desire to try other places! I always get the mango chicken, noodles and green beans... although the last time I got mixed veggies (carrots, broccoli, cabbage, zucchini). I think with tax it's like $8???? Ahhhh, it's so good! I could go for some right now!! Portion size is huge! One meal is big enough for me and my two children to all share. So while everyone is in line at Chick-Fil-A, Thai Bistro's line is non-existent. The free samples drew me in the first time and I have never looked back! Looking forward to my next visit! Yum yum! read more

Had a birthday dinner for my wife last night at the Glenwood location. Firstly, we were the only people dining in at about 6.30 pm, followed by two others around 7. When asked what we would like to drink, I went down the beer list until, after the first five were not available, I decided on water! Next, appetizers- we ordered the Thai roti with curry sauce dip and Thai spring rolls to share for four people. There were 3 spring rolls and ONE very small roti and a small amount of curry sauce for 4 people to share! A ridiculously small portion for $9. Then, I tried to order Thai basil duck to be told it was no longer available. Honestly, at that point, I would have left, if it wasn't for my wife and our two friends. So, I switched to Thai basil chicken and had a discussion with the owner about spice levels. She told me they did mild, medium, hot and Thai hot. So, I asked for medium. When it came, it had absolutely no spice flavor at all. Neither di my wife's Drunken Noodles. I mentioned it to the owner and was provided with a plate of chili powder. Really? If I had to guess, I think they may be winding down towards closure. Never again, from a place we use to enjoy. read more

Thai Bistro is located in the Crabtree Valley Mall food court. My new found favorite is the black pepper and mango chicken over Thai noodles. They have great garlic chicken the best pair with pad Thai noodles. Yummy. They also have Egg Rolls, Lo Mein and Vegetarian noodles. So I won't be coming to this food kiosk anymore. Food is mediocre, and the staff is beyond horrible. I work at the mall and I come to the food court very often and today I went and was DENIED a SAMPLE. Now if you're screaming "FREE" sample at the top of your lungs to get people attention, then something clearly is wrong with the food. Won't have to worry about me coming, and def telling my friends and family to do the same. read more

Ok, let me start by saying I never eat mall food. I rarely even go to malls...but since I found myself in one and starving, this Thai joint got it done. It is not healthy, it is not low sodium or low anything....but it is damn good. Well done Thai Bistro! read more

Ok. We went here today because of the reviews I saw here. Dang! We got there right at noon for lunch and the food looked and tasted like it was from yesterday. I felt it was way overpriced for what I got: a scoop of noodles steamed vegetables, and small scoop of "mango" chicken. I've never seen actual Thai food that looked like this. I'm no expert, but having been to Thailand 4 times, I think I know Thai. And this was NOT Thai food. Im not sure what it was. The noodles were bland and dry. The chicken was covered in some gooey, gelatinous coating. The staff was unhelpful, hard to understand, and unhappy looking. Man, I wish we had chosen a different place today. read more

Visually it didn't look that appealing, but they suckered me in with the samples and it ended up being really good. Not restaurant quality Thai, but pretty good darn good for a food court. I liked the sesame chicken and the spicy Thai chicken with the rice noodles. After having several samples, it was enough food to last me two meals. Great value. read more

My favorite place at the food court. Super friendly and attentive staff, huge portions (to-go box!), but the real kicker is the mango chicken and the spicy thai chicken -- it's the food court, but it is better tasting/quality than a lot of sit-down places I've gone. read more

Unfortunately, the lo mein was extremely greasy, the fried rice was overly salty, and the shrimp was hard, overcooked and not fresh. When I informed the waiter that I would not be eating the lo mein due to its condition, I was told that I would still have to pay for it and that it did not matter whether I liked it or not. He initially refused to remove the dish from my bill. After eventually taking it off, he told me that he never wanted to see my face again as I was leaving. What disappoints me most is that I genuinely enjoyed this restaurant and had been a repeat customer. The decline in food quality combined with the way my concerns were handled has left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Thank you Diondre for a great start to our evening. All of us raved over our food. Two of our friends had the Tomahawk Pork Chop featuring spinach, barrel-aged feta, herb aioli, and yummy Greek lemon potatoes. Both people agreed the kitchen team cooked them perfectly. One person absolutely loved his fire-roasted lamb chops that also had the delicious Greek lemon potatoes. Another one of our friends loved her Chicken penne Mykonos which we have ordered to-go many times. It looks even better in the restaurant as it has spinach, feta, mushrooms, tomatoes, white wine lemon cream sauce, and parmesan. This dish is a must try when you visit Taverna Agora in downtown Raleigh. Lastly, someone at the table exclaimed that their grilled salmon was one of the best salmon dishes he had ever enjoyed as its unique presentation features pickled beetroot, sautéed spinach, and a lemon caper sauce. I had the Poseidon Branzino which was fabulous. The dish had roasted branzino, medley of sautéed cherry tomatoes and onions, fresh herb rice, and skordalia (I had to look up what that is - a fascinating Greek garlic puree). The blending of all those flavors made for a scrumptious dinner, and thanks to the kitchen team for preparing it perfectly so that I could even eat the skin of the fish. We shared two bottles of Assyrtiko wine which is one of our favorite Greek wines after visiting Greece a few years ago. The wine list at Taverna is simple but thorough and fun to experiment with. Walking in you'll feel like you've been transported to a village like, Greek atmosphere. To sit down you'll check in with the host and then be seated either inside or on the rooftop. We opted for the rooftop as it was a nice evening. To start I ordered the Baklava Old Fashioned (Bulleit bourbon, homemade baklava syrup, Angostura bitters, and Amarena cherries) which was amazing. Next we ordered the trio of all three spreads (Tzatziki, sun-dried tomato hummus, and spicy feta spread) and the calamari. Both dishes were excellent and I definitely prefer the spicy feta and tzatziki sauce. For my main course I ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop (Chargrilled tomahawk chop, spinach, barrel-aged feta, herb aioli, Greek lemon potatoes) which was a bit disappointing. I probably should have sent the pork chop back as it was cooked well done and was very dry but was I was too hungry and didn't want to make my parents wait. For dessert I ordered Baklava Cheesecake (New York-style cheesecake with nuts and baklava filling) which was very nice and my mom ordered the Limoncello cake (lemon cake with lemon cream frosting) which was definitely the star of the show. If I'm back downtown I may try Taverna Agora again but will definitely avoid ordering the pork chop.

The space is a rather narrow one as another reviewer mentioned but worked for us. No complaints. Also, FWIW, I hear this establishment was once proclaimed the best Italian restaurant in the Triangle, but I haven't fact checked so take that with a grain of salt. Their outdoor seating looks nice but we were limited to indoor seating due to our party of 10 (on the large side for a restaurant this size).

The waitstaff ignored us most of the time and, after waiting for their help, we observed SIX of them just hanging out at the station, chatting and looking at their phones. 3. My husband spilled an entire beer and we asked the guy who came to help wipe it up if we could get another. His response was a very snippy, "...that's not my responsibilty". No help at all. 4. While we were still deciding on drinks, someone came by and took away the drink menu. we asked for two more, they brought only one, then someone came by and took it again! Since we now couldn't get a waiters attention, I finally went to the station myself to get one. 5. The food : Brussels sprouts in sauce were placed in front of us with no serving utensil, we asked for extra roumelade for the Pickles & Peppers but it took so long to arrive that there was nothing left to dip in it, wrong plates were placed in front of us, hamburgers were WAY over cooked and super dry, sweet potato fries were very soggy, sushi was bland. The espresso caramel chocolate malt that we loved so much before had zero malt flavor and was pretty much melted by the time we got it. We asked for six spoons for the malt and they brought five. We couldn't get anyone's attention to get a sixth, so two of us shared (we were tired of going to the station to fetch things for ourselves). From the staff to the manager to the food, everything was on point. The food truly speaks for itself. They serve small plates, which we love because it gives you the chance to try different things and experience a variety of flavors. We started with the fried pork belly on tostones. It was perfectly seasoned, topped with avocado, and every bite just melted in your mouth. Next, we had the tamarind sticky ribs with a tamarind mango barbecue sauce. This was a perfect example of how simplicity can create complex flavors. The ribs were cooked just right -- not completely falling off the bone, but tender enough that when you bit into them, the meat pulled apart so easily. They were juicy, full of flavor, and had just the right touch of spice from the chili flakes. Then we moved on to the mini arepas, and oh my God. They had slow-cooked pork, guava barbecue sauce, and fried papas on top. The arepa itself was crispy on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. The savory pork paired with the sweetness of the guava barbecue sauce was incredible, and the crunch from the fried papas took it to another level. Now, I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but my wife does not. I wanted dessert, and we were leaning toward the tres leches, but our waitress highly recommended the bread pudding. I am not usually a fan of bread pudding at all, but her recommendations had been on point all night, so I decided to trust her. I am so glad we did. They take a Mexican bolillo, soak it overnight in tres leches, then pan-sear it to create this crispy caramelized outside while keeping the inside warm, soft, and sweet. It is topped with crema and toasted coconut, then they pour warm guava syrup over it and serve it with a scoop of coconut sorbet. The layers of flavor in that dessert were unreal. Honestly, it may have been the best dessert we have ever had. And remember, my wife is not big on sweets -- she usually only takes one bite of dessert, but this time she tried to eat over half of it. Lol. I highly recommend this place. The food, the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere were all amazing. And after dinner, you can even head upstairs to work off the food with salsa lessons and a dance club. This is definitely a spot worth checking out! Este lugar fue absolutamente increíble. Normalmente no soy fanático del budín de pan, pero sus recomendaciones habían sido excelentes toda la noche, así que decidí confiar en ella. Me alegra muchísimo haberlo hecho. Toman un bolillo mexicano, lo remojan durante la noche en tres leches y luego lo sellan en sartén para crear una capa exterior crujiente y caramelizada, mientras que el interior se mantiene calientito, suave y dulce. Lo sirven con crema y coco tostado, luego le vierten encima un jarabe tibio de guayaba y lo acompañan con una bola de sorbete de coco. Las capas de sabor en ese postre fueron irreales. Honestamente, puede que haya sido el mejor postre que hemos probado en nuestra vida.
