    I was really excited to try this place based on all the reviews all over reddit and online claiming it's the area's best thai place. It did not disappoint! We went straight for the pad thai and pad see ew and also got a chicken entree (chicken kapow) just to try. We got our food to go and it was still steaming hot by the time we were home. The prices were fair and service was great. The pad thai was full of flavor and we loved it. The pad see ew was great as well. I would pass on the chicken dish next time and maybe try something else. I would also probably get another protein in our noodles. Other than that, we were very happy with what we got and would come here for any pad thai cravings!

    This is my go-to Thai spot! I've been coming here since college and the food has always been consistent. I don't like when my noodles come out dry but that's never an issue here. I like to order the Chicken Pad Thai, Shrimp Thai Villa Noodles, and Beef Penang Curry. I usually stick to an average spice level. I've tried both the third level and the Thai spice and neither was too spicy. The food comes out quickly and the staff are friendly. The interior of the restaurant is outdated, but honestly, it doesn't bother me because the food is more than worth it.

    Stopped by in this hideaway Thai restaurant called Thai Villa here in Raleigh, NC. The place is clean, organized and nice decorative interior. Appetizers, the satay (grilled chicken skewers) tender but warm and the Hoi Obb, a fragrant steamed mussels with aromatic herbs. The broth is tasty and the meat was perfectly steamed. We ordered of course the Pad Thai and it was delicious and plentiful. My Hoi Pik Pow ( sweet steamed mussels with chili paste, basil, and sausy green bell peppers was on point. We both really enjoyed the traditional Thai dishes. We will be returning and try the other ones. Many to choose from. Thanks guys for a pleasant evening. I'll be back!

    Great little restaurant tucked away in an unassuming spot. It looks a little tired inside, but it's clean, the staff are kind and attentive, and our food was hot and tasty. No lunch prices during the weekend, but the portions are large, so you will likely take some home for later anyway. Spice can be adjusted on the dishes we had. We will be back!

    Thai Villa is our favorite Thai spot in the Triangle. We found it during Covid when it was takeout only and now 4+ years later and we go back atleast once a month. Can't say enough good things, and every/any dish we've gotten has been fantastic. Good portions, incredible flavor and always hot and fresh. Tofu Pad Thai is great. You gotta try the Beef Pad See Ew and the Penang curry is fantastic! Do yourself a favor and try it!

    Passed this place a few time. Finally decided to give them a try For dinner tonight. What a gem. They was busy but seated right away. Wait staff was super friendly and quick. For starters we had the chicken satay and spring rolls. The chicken satay was yummy. It came with a nice peanut sauce and a little cup of cucumber and red onions in a sweet and vinegar marinade. Also got the spring rolls. Sooooo good. (Sorry didn't take pictures... was super hungry and forgot lol ) For mains we got the Beef Pad Thai and the Soft Shelled Crab in a chili garlic sauce. The pad Thai was the best we've had around town. So full of flavor. Beef cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back for this dish alone! The soft shelled crab was very good as well. it had a hint of a frozen seafood flavor but it was easy to overlook. Fresh would have made it way better. All good though! Still ate it all. lol If you want an incredible Pad Thai experience come here and give em a shot! The Thai Iced Tea was really good as well. Not overly sweet. Perfectly balanced.

    We ordered takeout: beef pad ew (not pictured), chicken pad Thai, Tom yum w/chicken, mussaman chicken curry, red curry -- all were pretty good & the prices + size vary according to lunch/dinner time. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to make sure we didn't include peanuts in some dishes for allergy reasons. I love that I feel I can trust them whereas some places will just avoid telling you they cook it with nuts & try to pick it out. Would definitely recommend if you're craving Thai food and you're in the area.

    Thai Villa has been on my list to try for a while now. My mom and I dined in for lunch and started off with an order of the shrimp bikini. Next I tried the pad see ew with chicken. I would pass on the app but the entree did not disappoint. I'll have to return soon to try more menu items.

    We are regulars here, love their food and have never have a quality issue. Unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed today after placing a Togo order. I love the chicken Tom Ka soup and usually order two orders as a main dish since they only serve it in a small container. Usually the soup is filled to the line but tonight I received one filled halfway and the other was mostly full but the majority of the soup was broth. I would hope to receive the whole item I paid for instead of half if that is what I'm paying for. Please do better Thai Villa

    What a great place - Thai Villa is indeed a hole in the wall Thai Restaurant, and wow is their food awesome. Their menu and cooking is authentic as it gets - and the execution is outstanding. The environment is simple - not a romantic candle-lit spot :) I can imagine they do a lot of take-out: I saw a lot of to-go order while I dined. the service was fast, attentive and friendly. One downside is they have no Sing Ha beer (or any beer) to reduce the spicy heat of their cooking. {alas}

I was actually a little nervous going in because certain Chinese dishes tend to upset my stomach, so I tried to avoid some of the heavier noodle and chicken dishes that normally do that to me. Honestly, I think that was the best decision because I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and felt completely fine afterwards. I started with the crab rangoons, which were perfectly creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside -- absolutely delicious. Then I tried the pork-filled bao buns, which was my first time ever having them, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed them too. Everyone else at our table seemed to really enjoy their food as well. I genuinely didn't hear a single complaint. We also ordered some drinks that were delicious, and both our server and the rest of the staff were absolutely fantastic and very welcoming throughout the night. The atmosphere and vibes inside are honestly one of the coolest parts of the experience. It somehow feels like a mix between a brewery, a florist, a bookstore, and a Chinese restaurant all at once. It's such an interesting and unique space that doesn't really feel like anywhere else. Overall, this was a great experience, and I would absolutely come back to try more items on the menu.

I came right before a show at the Alamo Drafthouse around the corner, which makes it the perfect night out for dinner and show. It looks like a lot of people order takeout here, but they have ample tables and do offer an excellent dine in service. I loved their green beans and eggplant. All their food felt more authentic and homestyle than your typical run of the mill Chinese place. The food had flavor, and it wasn't overly greasy either! I ordered the lo mein, bamboo flounder fish, and a side of fried rice. Unfortunately, the lo mein was extremely greasy, the fried rice was overly salty, and the shrimp was hard, overcooked and not fresh. When I informed the waiter that I would not be eating the lo mein due to its condition, I was told that I would still have to pay for it and that it did not matter whether I liked it or not. He initially refused to remove the dish from my bill. After eventually taking it off, he told me that he never wanted to see my face again as I was leaving. What disappoints me most is that I genuinely enjoyed this restaurant and had been a repeat customer. The decline in food quality combined with the way my concerns were handled has left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

A nice perk of this spot is that it's just a stone's throw away from free and plentiful lot parking. I'd make a reservation if you plan to come here on a weekend for dinner. The place was bustling, with almost all the tables full. It's bright, airy and modern looking inside. Which makes it the perfect place for a date night or celebration spot. At the same time, it's not stuffy or overly fancy. The menu is comprehensive with Thai favorites like Pad Thai and Pad See Ew with a large number of Japanese and Sushi items on the back. My friends tried the Thai Spicy level and I will say it was pleasantly hot without burning your tongue off. I ordered the bento box and was really happy with the quality of the sashimi and nigiri. Everything was tasty, and the portions were more than satisfying. If I had to make a nit on something that I didn't love (it's hard!), I'd say that the rice texture wasn't my favorite. It was a little dry. But other than that, I would definitely consider it for another night out.

    Holy!! We had expectations from all of the recommendations, but what a complete disappointment…read more First let's start with the only positive-- the waitress and her service was perfect. She was so kind and was the absolute best part of our visit. She gave a range recommendations, very professional, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal. We are coming from the Irvine, CA area so we VERY familiar with top tier Asian food and possibly that impacted our standards vs others in the review section. Now on to the rest, there were so many flies that I ended up having to smash them on the window with a napkin--just gross! Then, my son's food was not flavored well at all and had HAIR in his noodles! The Pad Thai was really bad! It was a lighter color first of all, so maybe they added an ingredient that isn't standard in traditional Pad Thai, but it did not make it better at all; I could barely stomach it. Then, there was a huge egg shell in the dish that somehow the cook let come out and served to us. The sweet and sour chicken portion was outrageously small for a dinner portion, and the dish was smothered with sauce but somehow the chicken was dry as if it was day old or several days old chicken. The cashew chicken, the same, dry chicken that was being covered up with the sauce and we had to chew a great deal. The sweet tea, it just tasted like they put a bunch of sugar packets in and was worse than a McDonald's sweet tea. Their white rice was not moist at all and we could've just done without it. Out of the sushi we ordered, the spicy tuna was good, but the rest was grocery store quality sushi and extremely small portion. In my opinion, people rave about this place because it is 'different' and plays into an upscale restaurant as you can see with their overpriced items. This place doesn't hold a candle to shopping center Thai fusion in California. I have lived in many states and am not a snotty Californian, but man oh man I can tell you this one is a fail. The only star for this visit goes to the waitress (she was a 5) but if I could give this a zero for the food, I would. Don't waste your time or money.
